I went to the store on 4th Ave. because my bike chain kept falling off the rails. The man minding the store said he could do an adjustment. I asked how much it would be. He said the minimum charge at least $15. I said that I would bring in my bike that had a flat tire, so that I would not pay $15 for a minor adjustment that might not work. To show that I was returning to the store that day, I gave this man $20. I said that when he repairs the flat I will pay everything on my credit card. When I cycled home to get the other bike, the chain fell off within 5 min. When I returned, I said to him, " You see that I would have paid $15 for nothing as the chain fell off right away. " I didn't ask the right questions" Then I asked for the $20 back as was the agreement. He went to the computer and was there for at least 7 min. He gets up without the $20 bill. I said, " Where is my $20?" He went back and took it out of the drawer and gave it to me. So, what was all that typing about at the computer.? It was weird to say the least. He got angry and said I was threatening him! I am a 72 year old grandma! I said, " Are you serious?" You ate a man saying to a little old lady that you feel threatened and for what?" Then I said, " Oh my, where have all the men gone?" In my day, no man would have uttered such absurdities. Never the less, he told me to get out of the store. I was already creeped out, anyway and I wanted to leave but I thought he would get angrier because he may think I didn't want to pay the $15 fee to attempt an unsuccessful 'repair'. They have stairs going in the front store. It is hard to carry your bike up those stairs. I did say that it wasn't ideal. Moreover, as you try to open the door to leave with a bike in one hand, it is difficult. He doesn't assist with the door. He is too busy complaining about his fear issues with little old ladies. The guy has no shame! Another bike store charged me retail for a used tire! Taking advantage of the elderly is just about as low as one can get in society. Way to go More Bikes! I had the worst experience I have ever had at a bike shop here. I brought my bike in to get the front derailer replaced. They said they had it in stock and could replace it no problem. This was a lie, so they kept my bike for two weeks to get a part and then called me in to show me the derailer. It didnt fit. They tried to tell me just to not use my lower gears since it was rubbing in those gears. This was not acceptable (ever) so I had my old derailer put back on. Then they handed me a bill for 65 dollars having done nothing to my bike. They didnt know how to identify the correct derailer, messed up, tried to pass off shoddy work onto me, snd then charged me for having done nothing to my bike. This is not how to run a bike shop...never ever going back here. read more

Absolutely terrible service and quality of work. They charged me twice as much as was quoted on new tires, installed them without getting my approval on the new price, and failed to notice that the rims were dangerously worn; luckily I didn't get into a serious accident, but it will cost as much as a new bike to fix, so the $1000+ repairs they've done in the past six months was a complete waste. Even a simple task like tightening brakes is beyond the staff at More Bikes. Do yourself a favour and go to West Point Cycles. read more

Picked up my bike after paying an exorbitant amount to have it serviced and realized the brakes were so tight/ poorly aligned that the back wheel couldn't spin. Had to drive back to the shop to get them to fix it (which they agreed to do for free). Waited for the repair, but when they returned my bike the brake still rubbed so I had to ask them to try again. Finally they just loosened the brakes (to the point where the brakes weren't very responsive), and I took the bike home. On my next ride I realized that my shifting was less smooth than previously and the gears jumped. Super frustrating. We also recently bought approx 10 extra bike tubes and today realized that only 2 of the tubes they sold us have the correct valve... we should've checked more closely, but trusted that the guy would grab 10 of the same and not mix-and-match. Now have to drive back to exchange them. Several of my family members have had similarly negative experiences. We kept going back because it is the most convenient bike store for us, but at this point we've definitely had more than enough and will go elsewhere. read more

Best Giant dealer in Vancouver! Knowledgeable, friendly and no pressure. My buddy and I were looking for a new bike. We did the rounds checking out Specialized, Trek, Giant from Vancouver to Burnaby. We came to this location 3 times and each time Guillermo and David were patient and helpful. I can't say the same for some of the other stores as you can feel the stores turn up the pressure to close a sale. I suggest you take advantage of this location and test ride down the road to TRIUMF then back up the hill over to some of the bike trails. No other bike store has such a variety of terrain to really test out a bike. The owners and staff are quick to reply to emails which is what brought us here. It's a small family business and you'll get the feeling you're buying from a friend. Some of our visits were during busy periods as they also rent bikes but luckily there are comfy seats in the sun right outside. You're not going to be mobbed or ignored by sales staff who look you up and down trying to assess if you can afford their bikes. In the end it was very close between models from each of the 3 major brands. We bought the Giant because we feel comfortable we're going to get after-sales support and service that our bikes will need. Best advice when buying a bike is find a place that will let you take the time to find a bike that fits you with friendly staff you know you can come back to for servicing as bike cables stretch and components go out of alignment. read more

We love this neighbourhood bike shop. We have bought a few bikes and many accessories here for the family as the kids outgrow their bikes. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. The bikes get free tune up. They keep a good record of what you have purchased previously. I even got them to let me know a serial number on a past purchase when the bike got stolen. read more

Really disappointed in More Bikes. Had received their help a few times in the last couple years with nothing but positive experiences but today, they were incredibly rude at their stall at Storm The Wall. My friend and I waited patiently in line for their help to change the seat height, get the bike checked out and pump the tires (it was a friend's racing bike so we didn't know how to do it) and the employee there told us "I don't have time to help you pump the wheels or change the seat. Figure it out." While there were other people in line and the company is donating their time, I found the interaction incredibly abrasive. My friend and I had to ask a complete stranger (who graciously helped without complaint) and if the More Bikes guy had taken even 1 minute to show us how the equipment worked, we could have done it ourselves. I thought maybe it was an isolated interaction but a few minutes later I heard the same employee tell a girl to "get out of the tent" even though it was raining heavily and she was just waiting for her friend to get his bike checked. Maybe it was the nasty weather but I was so disappointed with More Bikes today - it's been a long time since an interaction with a business employee left me so disgruntled for so long after. read more

I have had a wonderful experience purchasing a full suspension mountain bike from Don and his team of staff. They were extremely accommodating to make sure I tried all the bikes that they carried in their stores to help me make the best decision without any pressure to upsell me on anything. I visited both their Shrum Lane location and 4th Ave location in order to try their full lineup (due to some manufacturer restrictions for selling in Vancouver, whom I will refrain from naming). On pickup day, the bike was prepped perfectly and ready to hit the trails. The staff are enthusiastic and I very trustworthy, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend More Bikes to my friends and family for all their cycling needs. Oh, and there is a wonderful fuzzy dog named Samantha to keep the lady entertained while you nerd out on bikes and gear, which is a big bonus. read more

Fantastic Service and Fun Atmosphere. We bought 2 Cruiser Style bikes, made by Giant. it was worth the trip out from the city as these folks took a great deal of care with us, had fun and even ordered one of the bikes we wanted from the Vancouver warehouse. We had done our research and really wanted Giants bikes but found the manager and staff at the Giant store on West 4th difficult and rude. I can't say enough nice things about this bike shop and to top it off we have lifetime service on bikes. Thanks so much! read more

I was in the market for a fat bike and came across More Bikes on the internet. I contacted them via email and Matt immediately responded to my requests and answered all of my questions. The challenge was that I'm located in Southern California. No problem for More Bikes. Matt helped me with my purchase and worked a great deal. He also walked me through the international shipping process and in a week I had my new Rocky Mountain Blizzard 50. To make sure my bike was delivered safely, Don from More Bikes followed up on my order as well. My entire experience dealing with More Bikes was very pleasant and the price was great. I bought a new bike from the 4th Ave store in January. The entire experience was a pleasure. After a few rides I decided to make a drivetrain adjustment to better suit my riding style. I looked for the part I needed on-line, but it was difficult to find and the lead time was long. I took the bike back to the store and explained what I wanted. They ordered and installed the part for me and I had the bike back quickly and at a very fair price. Recently, my Reverb seat post failed. I took the bike back again and within 2 hours had a new warranty replacement installed. I am sure that another shop could have taken weeks to get a replacement. I cannot say enough how happy I have been with this Local Bike Shop. It is clear that they have customer satisfaction as their number 1 priority. I have used various bike shops in Vancouver for over 30 years and only 1 has ever gained any long term loyalty from me. I now have a new favorite bike shop. read more

Terrible! My husband dropped his bike off after his chain broke to get a new chain and he decided to also get their medium tune up while it's already there. When he picked it back up the driving experience was worse than before the ($90!) tuneup. He then also noticed the rear wheel being loose! Which is really dangerous especially as he was pulling a trailer with our kid in it. Also the drive train (which was supposed to be cleaned during the tuneup) was still really dirty. He immediately called the shop and their first response was "that's not possible" (not an "I'm sorry"). They told him to bring the bike back in. I brought it in the next morning and this time at least the shop owner or manager(?) was there who at least was friendly. He offered to take another look and do another cleaning. I also complained about being charged $20 installation fee for the chain which I think is ridiculous given that I already paid for the tuneup which included cleaning the drive train. Their response was "we always charge an installation fee" (which is not really a reason IMO). When I picked it back up it was cleaned properly. The guy also told me that they often leave the rear wheel loose if people have trailer attachments so people can adjust the angle themselves as they know best what it should be. (-Okay that makes sense, but maybe they should have told that to my husband when he picked it up the first time and attached the trailer and drove off!). The other thing he told me is that we will need a new cassette soon as there are already teeth missing. -Well thank you for telling me now! Why didn't they call us when they had it in for the original tuneup (they must have noticed it as they cleaned it) and they could have installed the cassette immediately. Now I have to bring the bike in a 3rd time! Well I am obviously not bringing it there! I will never go to this shop again neither for service nor to purchase anything as my experience with both their repair/tune-up as well as their customer service was terrible! read more

Warning: worst warranty service ever. Brand new Masi frame broke after 4 days. The owner would charge me costs for sending the broken frame and for 3 hours of work for moving parts from the broken frame to a new one supplied by Masi. Had myself to take contact to Masi in California to organize the repair. The staff in the shop are nice though. read more

I bought a new bike there, brakes never worked correctly from day one. Brought it back in they said they fixed it but wanted to charge me. I got my bike, but it still was not working properly. I had to take a brand new bike for repairs to another shop. I would never go back. read more

I've had my Specialized bike since 1995. I've ridden Seattle to Portland (206miles), L.A. River Ride & Irvine to San Diego Ride (100miles each). In between I ride to work rain or shine 11 kms each way. The bike is my main mode to get to work and for exercise, so it has been maintained and cleaned by me. After 20 years of use, the chain was starting to slip so I took the bike into More Bikes, UBC Vancouver in January 2016. Along with the chain More Bikes changed the rear cassette (also 20 years old). April 2016, I needed a rear wheel replaced. I took it to More Bikes & approved the rear wheel change. Later that day, More Bikes said I needed a new rear cassette & chain. What?!? More Bikes just changed and charged me for a rear cassette and chain less than 3 months ago. More Bikes insisted I wore down the chain and rear cassette in less than three months. I didn't approve the chain or the rear cassette repair since I had it done by More Bikes less than 3 months ago. I went to pick up my bike, More Bikes had installed a new rear cassette and chain. I re-iterated to them I didn't approve the rear cassette & chain repair, I will not pay for the new components and to take them off & put back on the old components. Don & Lucy said I approved the repair with their bike mechanic, Mark. Don quickly grabbed my bike, placed it behind him and said I can't get my bike back until I pay for a ALL the repairs. I thought to myself, you're joking Don, $20-$30 in new re-useable parts & 2 minutes to take off. Fine, let me take some pictures, I'll leave the bike here and we'll settle it thru B.C. Small Claims Court. In the end, since I agreed to pay for the rear wheel, I paid for the rear wheel, More Bikes took off the new rear cassette and chain. have had nothing but bad experiences from this bike shop after purchasing a brand bike and being sold on their garbage 'lifetime maintenance' program. The maintenance work done by More Bikes has caused months of hassles and problems for me due to their shotty worksmanship which all started when it required a simple derailleur adjustment. I cannot recommend this store. Below is a recollection of my visits: Visit #1: My bike was having a slight issue mis-shifting and required a derailleur adjustment. I brought the bike in on a Tuesday to the Wesbrook location and received a call the following Wednesday that it was finally ready to pick up. After riding the bike home, the derailleur issue was still there and noticeably worse. Visit #2: The next week, I brought the bike back with the derailleur issue to the Wesbrook location. The technician said he would fix the issue while I waited at the store. He seemed to have troubles with the derailleur cable and was forced to pull the cables with a set of pliers which caused the cable to begin fraying. I mentioned my concerns about the cable fraying near the barrel adjuster but he guaranteed me that the cable was in perfect condition and that it would not snap. The next day I went to Whistler. While riding my bike from the car park to the lift, the derailleur cable snapped where the technician frayed the cable with the pliers. This caused me to spend the day riding without the ability to shift gears, and also caused the derailleur to be in a position which kept causing the chain to fall off each run. Visit #3: After having bad luck with the Wesbrook location, I took the bike to the 4th Avenue location. The employee promised to have the bike ready within 2 days and would call when it was ready. After 4 days, I had still not received a call and had to call myself to find out that the bike was ready. I picked up the bike and was told that the entire derailleur cable was replaced with an aftermarket one. Unfortunately, I assumed that the bike was working and did not test ride it. The next day I went to Whistler and when riding from the car park to the lift, I noticed that the bike would only shift 2 out of 10 gears. Visit #4: I returned to the 4th Avenue location upset about this issue and Matt took the bike in promising to fix it within the day. I was told I would receive a call when the bike is ready to be picked up. As expected, I did not receive a call and showed up when they were closing to pick up my bike which was ready. Matt mentioned that he had to replace the entire stock derailleur cable which was the problem, although I was under the impression that the stock cable was already replaced in Visit #3 which makes me believe that the work was not actually done. Another employee brought my bike from their back room and mentioned to Matt that "Something happened to the brake lever." I looked at the brake lever and noticed that it was bent to 90 degrees which is absolutely not how the bike was dropped off. Matt continued to change the subject about the brake lever and not take responsibility for it. For being a manager, Matt was one of the most unprofessional people I have met when dealing with the situation as he became angry, started swearing, and started making offensive comments when I brought back the topic of the brake lever. The following day I called to speak to the store owner, Don, who also failed to take responsibility for the damaged brake lever. After I asked to review the security cameras to see exactly what happened, Don immediately told me that they would replace the lever which makes me assume that something happened they didn't want me to see. I ended up putting the order in for a new brake lever at the Wesbrook location and the employee mentioned they would order the part from Shimano which would take a few days. When I went to go pick it up, they gave me the brake parts from a used bike which was in terrible shape and worse condition than the lever they bent.
