I had been going to this bakery in parsippany since my daughter became gluten intolerant, about 8 years ago. We always loved their cupcakes and cookies, welll. Out of no where's , I became gluten intolerant also. It was my birthday last Friday and my son ordered a birthday cake. We picked it up before going to the restaurant for dinner. This cake was so so pretty, lots of my favorite pink. And lavender flowers and it was even more delicious than it looked. It was chocolate cake with chocolate cream between layers and white icing. I have no idea how these cakes can taste so fabulous with out dairy. Nuts. Gluten. Eggs etc. but it was fantastic. The cake resembled the flourless chocolate cake, some restaurants have and the icing honestly tasted like real buttercream. I've reached out to the owners/customer service of Mo'Pweeze, and expressed my opinion and disappointment on a custom cake they did for me. They charged me extra $40 because I asked for a vegetarian NOT VEGAN cake. I do not care for a vegan cake. I paid a total of $120 for the cake as pictured, which I feel is an absurd price. The tulip fondant decorations I asked for are not detailed at all and not worth the $20 extra. Only the taste of the cake is good. Edit: this is just my take / my review... Thanks for the response. This is one of my favorite places in Denville! We like to stop in after our dinner from Veggie Heaven. We first tried their cupcakes at Vegfest and were thrilled to see they weren't too far from us. Their choices are great. The cupcakes are moist not dry at all and not overly sugary . I love the mint chocolate and they make a raspberry that is great. Wifey and I were walking if around Denville...literally just wandering around downtown and came across Mo'Pweeze. I've been on an elimination diet for 16 weeks now so finding a place with gluten free, dairy free, soy free cupcakes I was intrigued. We decided to get two and split them (awwwww isn't that just cute?). We got one Moos Choco Choco and one Mocha Madness. My elimination diet also doesn't allow for sugar (yeah, it sucks) but I cheated a bit because there was sugar in these cupcakes. After 16 weeks of almost no added sugar when I do have some I find it overwhelmingly sweet. These cupcakes were quite delicious, but for ME they were too sweet...Wifey disagrees though and told me to stop being pretentious. The one down side to these tasty treats is the cost...$4 each for regular sized cupcakes seemed a bit pricey to me, but I don't usually buy cupcakes like this so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Place is convenient for us (right Downton in Denville), service was fast and pleasant, place was clean, and the cupcakes were tasty. I excitedly purchased a pumpkin pie for my mom who is lactose intolerant. The pie cost $25 but I bought it as a special Thanksgiving treat for her. The pie is complete inedible: Crust is a brick and the inside tastes like you're drinking a jar of cloves and spices. Visually it looks like a mud pie from when I was a kid. I overlooked the unfriendly service at the counter when I ordered my pie. I have no idea how anyone would promote this bakery. Great concept. Poor service. Worse quality. Purchased a wedding cake for my daughter's wedding on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Selected this bakery because it met our dietary needs. The cake was dry, tough, no flavor, the ganache that was supposed to be between the layers was almost no existent, and the frosting was grainy. The server who was cutting the cake said, "This cake is not fresh because it's difficult to cut and it's falling apart as he sliced the cake." The bride, groom and guest did no finish their slices. Let me tell you!! I went to the shoprite in Lincoln park and they had these cupcakes from the shop in the bakery, the minute you walk in on the right side. I originally went to see if I can find some cheese cake for my mother in law since I can't eat anything in the baked good section I usually don't bother looking because of a really bad dairy allergy why risk the pain and that's when I found these gold gems!!! Omg i was soooo freaking happy when I found something I can eat in the bakery! First met this establishment at the NYC Vegan Food Festival and there were so many people trying out their cupcakes, I couldn't get through.. LOL But luckily I got a flyer and was able to pick up a few of their cupcakes (whatever was leftover that day) to bring to my godson's 4th Birthday party who has severe food allergies. I bought a donut and 6 various cupcakes to take home. So far everything I've eaten was wonderful! Resolution from business: They offered 4 free cupcakes to make up for the Christmas cookie pronlem...all one can ask in life is peaceful resolution. So I'm adding back 2 stars!!! It's no secret that cupcakes are my favorite dessert food... it's also no secret that finding vegan, gluten-free cupcakes is a challenge. If you do manage to find them, they're often a bit dry or contain some questionable ingredients like soy, for instance. So, imagine my excitement when I discovered Mo'Pweeze! These cupcakes (and custom cakes to order) are not only vegan and gluten-free, but free of most major allergens (soy, nuts, etc). While you can't find them at a dedicated store/bakery, you CAN find them at a number of North Jersey farmers markets (see website for schedule and locations), speciality health food stores like Grassroots in Denville and Morristown, and most recently, select Shop Rite locations. She (the owner) also ships nationwide and delivers to most of North Jersey, to the best of my knowledge. To be truthful, my experience has varied from location to location. I've purchased from the Westfield Farmers Market and the Lake Hopatcong Farmers Market, and both times, the cupcakes were fresh and amazing! This last time, however, I stopped at Shop Rite in Little Falls and found them very dry--almost stale-tasting. I know deliveries are weekly to the super markets, so perhaps the batch I picked up had been sitting in the freezer section for a week or more. In any case, I'd recommend hunting them down at a local farmers market for maximum freshness (plus, who knows what other goodies you'll find at a market?!). As for the flavors, they're varied and all very good. I don't necessarily have a favorite, but do prefer the ones with some filling, as it lends itself to a more moist cupcake, in my opinion. The frosting is very sweet, but it's a cupcake--what do you want? In the future, I'd like to see some creativity where the toppings are concerned. Papa Ganache does this masterfully, and with her talent, I'm sure the owner of Mo'Pweeze could do the same. Also, perhaps some more natural, healthful sugar options, like coconut sugar, for example. Overall, a solid choice if you're looking for allergen-free cupcakes or in need of a custom cake! read more

I'm disappointed with this bakery. I went in to purchase cupcakes. I left with half a dozen plus two lava cakes. Thankfully I got in my car and tasted the lava cakes first, both tasted like they had been sitting in the fridge for a week. I returned them immediately. I should have done the same with the cupcakes because when I got home I tasted them and they were SOOO sweet that I couldn't finish one. I'm giving it two stars because the place itself is cute and employees were nice and understanding. But I wouldn't go back. I was so excited to have a new allergy friendly place in town. I can't tell you how the baked good are though because they are not friendly to wheelchair users. My husband went in and asked if they could provide a ramp for me to get in. He was told no. They didn't even offer to come outside and show me a menu. Can I give this zero stars? I am editing my stars because they only reflect the lack of access, not the quality of the goods. From what I've tasted, they are amazing. The first time I had their cookie sandwiches and cupcakes. The French toast cupcake was delicious, tasty and moist. The cookies were hard and the filling inside didn't taste good either. I would not get a cookie here again. I really liked the cupcakes, so I came back a few months later to try more. However, I was really disappointed this time. This is my favorite bakery!! The cupcakes are even better than Magnolia Bakery in NYC. My kids and I don't have any food allergies however the cupcakes at MoPweeze are the only ones they'll eat so I have to stock up on them whenever I go to the bakery. Their store location has a wonderful family friendly play area and even a private area for mothers who need to breast feed. Every time I go I see lots of happy children pointing and begging for their fave cupcake in the display & parents who're happy that their kids can eat safely.
