It doesn't look like your typical bakery but they sure do have a yummy selection of desserts. Our favorites are the vesuvius cake and the different ice cream balls (my words not theirs) they have. Prices aren't too bad and the employees are always very helpful and nice. If you're hesitant stop by on one of the many days they have free samples and give them a try. read more

We all make mistakes and we all screw up. Owner is completely irresponsible and frankly irrational and doesn't take responsibility for company screwing up on 2 levels. . Level 1: Cake Was So Dry Was Not edible We ordered a cake for a birthday party along with 1 other cake & 2 boxes of cookies. The cake & cookies were very good but the birthday cake was severely overcooked/dried out. So much so that our guests were telling us to ask for a refund. When i tasted it I knew right away but figured eh maybe just 1 cupake. Even the kids weren't eating the cake! That's alarming. Level 2: No call backs, no apology, and complete rudeness We call there and to speak with the manager and they insist we're wrong. How can they be sure if didn't have cake in hand to see? Bring it up here and we'll take a look at it because that NEVER HAPPENED EVER. Really? You never burned a cake? Overcooked one? I guess Jesus put his hand on every cake/cupcake they made. We offered to drive up there but they told us it would be a waste of time bec they wouldn't do anything about it bec. owner not there??? So we say ok please call us back . 3 calls no call backs. On the 3rd call back owner STILL NOT THERE or available to speak. Now we're 3 weeks & 1 day into the process of trying to get a partial refund/apology...not rocket science. We call a 4th time...owner there? Yes HOORAH! My wife says hello ...he answers immediately: I know what this is about and i'm not sure what you want me to do about it. No hello no nothing! What an idiot. So now it's my mission to spread the word...IF they screw up your cakes, cookies, baked goods...they won't own up to it, won't see or hear you about it, and apparently never make mistakes. Being positive, the cake design was very nice and well done...cake was not edible! Just to be clear we didn't ask for a full refund or anything close ...all we asked for was a partial refund. I'm sending out about 200 emails to people we know in NJ right now...might cost him what a few 1000 a year but we're warning people important to us. I had to use them for my wedding cake 13 years ago because they were the only vendor allowed for my venue. At the time, cupcakes at a wedding was a brand new trend. After we picked the cake flavor (months before the wedding), I called shortly after to ask to change to cupcakes for guests and just a small bride and groom cake for us. They were super pissy about this change and made no mistake making me feel bad about even though I believe I paid an extra fee for it and called months before the wedding. The cupcakes were fine, but the icing on the bride and groom cake was sour at our wedding, so we didn't eat it and it went right in the trash after the pictures. Every time I drive past their shop, I cringe. read more

Baker's Perfection used to be a great place to go for baked goods pasta and a few other things. A couple years ago they must have been sold or changed management because the quality has really gone downhill. I hadn't been there in a while and recently decided to see if there was any Improvement I purchased a small chocolate mousse and a small tiramisu. After reading the ingredients I see that these desserts are made mostly with whipped oil like Cool Whip. This is definitely not the real thing. Sadly I had to throw away most of it because it tasted awful. Even Cool Whip tastes better than this. When I was there I asked about buying croissants and found you could only buy a dozen or more at a time. They no longer sell pasta or pasta sauces. Their cookies are made with shortening rather than butter and so they have that greasy shortening aftertaste With all the competition from local grocery stores and their greatly improved bakeries you would think that Baker's perfection would step their game up rather than going cheap. I think that next time I need to purchase baked goods I will go to the ShopRite or another local grocery store rather than to Baker's perfection read more

For my mom's 90th Birthday we ordered a cake that would be served at the restaurant where we celebrated. They said that it would be coming from Baker's Perfection. I ordered a chocolate cake with vanilla cream cheese frosting. The cake was moist and the frosting perfectly done. My mom took home the leftovers, ate them for a week and said it was great till the end. The servers at the restuarant have raved to me about their other products. If it wasn't an hour and quarter ride, I would probably go there to check out the rest of their items. I will stop when going through the area and update my impressions. read more

Bought their cheesecake, 7", for $15 at the local Brooklyn supermarket. After eating 1/2 a piece, my guest puked, and I can say that the taste was disgusting. Not rotten or spoiled, but just disgusting taste of overpasterized dairy products. Tomorrow, I am going to return the rest to the supermarket. I read the ingredients (were printed in the bottom of a package, very vaguely printed). This cheesecake includes both Heavy cream and Skim Milk that doesn't make sense because they are the mutually opposite products. One adds fat, and the other diminishes it . As I understood from their ingredient list, they just included every product that they generally use at their bakery (not necessarily for this cheesecake) and the fact that they print it on the bottom shows that they don't want customers to read the ingredients. From their list of ingredients, neither whole wheat flour, nor baking soda is NEVER used for making cheesecakes. Please, draw your own conclusions about this company. read more

I have sent cookies from them in the past and had great reviews from the people I gave to. This time I sent cookies and also biscotti to different friends in Fla. Just got a very happy call saying they were delivered today!! I had ordered Sunday night at 10 pm after hours even if they were open on Sunday. The included in the price delivery is as good as can be expected. I have seen some bad reviews on line but I have never been disappointed and will continue to use them because each time I do they are received well and that is what counts. I have purchased delicious pastries from them many times and have been pleased. Decided to try a quiche Lorraine. Got home, followed directions to defrost it and bake it. Discovered they had given me broccoli cheddar, not quiche Lorraine, but now I was stuck. Directions were completely wrong for a quiche and it was barely lukewarm. First piece I got a mouthful of those woody inedible pieces of broccoli. Texture was all wrong....no custard at all, in fact the filling was all dried out and had the texture of small cake crumbs. I suspect when baking it, they didn't temper the hot liquid and the eggs curdled. It was really awful. I brought it back the next day and was told that it was perfectly fine, and that they make their quiche "with scrambled eggs". While I suspect this was a language barrier (confusing beaten eggs with scrambled eggs), I was offered no refund, no store credit, nothing. So not only do they have horrible customer service, but they employ bakers who don't know squat about baking! They get two stars for my previous experience with their pastries. read more

Off the beaten path but well worth the trip. A nice variety of specialty cakes on site but most are frozen. Only a few cupcakes and cakes are refrigerated that you can just walk in a buy. They also have lots of cookies and how can I forget those wonderful and hard to find petit fours. Yummy!!! The best way to utilize this bakery is to plan ahead and special order, they EXCEL in their made to order items. I have used them for a three tiered 50th anniversary cake, many full sheet cakes and family birthday cakes. You have a wide choice of cakes and fillings and it's the only place other than Swiss Chalet in Morristown that knows how to make a proper butter cream frosting at 50% the cost of Swiss Chalet. Their decorators are also wonderful, they have been able to reproduce any cake design that I have given them exactly. Forget the diet give them a try. read more
