All of our favorites were taken off the menu (gyro, chicken nachos) or changed (added horseradish to chip dip-ick; changed bun, eliminated dip and added lettuce e to steak sandwich). Under new ownership - menu has been cut back drastically and in no way reflects prior owners. Wait staff were great but whoever is creating the menu needs to go. Food for 5 people was delivered over a span of almost 30 minutes - the people that got their food first were almost done eating when the rest of the food came. Giving 3 stars only because of whoever is now managing Moosehead. They have eliminated 2 of their best people so far-Julie and Heather and replaced them with an almost-useless person who is apparently in some sort of relationship with the manager. She is almost completely incompetent and insists on referring to all the women as "hon". Too bad the Nemo's/Moosehead owner is not paying attention. The food is good though and I was happy to see that Mel and Ros are still there--hope they hold on. read more

Service and ambience still good but this place has really gone downhill! Served lemonade that was water. They checked the machine and said yes that's the quality of what they call lemonade now. Half rack of ribs for $17 were lukewarm and mostly fat. Not the quality they used to be. We also ordered salmon. $21, small piece, very small portion of sides with meh bland clumpy rice. We hadn't been since all the changes. We used ti love this place. They changed the menu and only had 2 items available off an 8 items "specials" menu. Don't see a reason to return. read more

I am a huge Moosehead fan, but I swear every time it is okay at best. I'm really not sure why I keep going back. This time I was really annoyed because I was told I could t have a straw as they were competing in the last straw challenge. It was annoying as I prefer to drink out of straws. Next, when the straw is brought to me, I was told that they would no longer be providing them. I think that's a bit nuts. In to my entree, I got a grilled chicken salad. It was good, but made me incredibly sick after eating it. I'm not sure if it was undercooked or what. read more

Had house burger, came standard with sautéed onions and mushrooms. And house chips with home made chip dip that is additive. Burger had good flavor, but best part was the grilled bun it's served on. House made chips and dip are addictive. Service was fine. Not overly talkative. Would try walleye sandwich next time. Visited Moosehead for dinner with my boyfriend, requested to sit outside on the patio and the waitress/bartender was visibly annoyed by the request and started rambling on about how they were understaffed. I wish that was where the bad experience ended, but it only got worse. We ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer. When they came out, we noticed multiple short, curly black hairs fried INTO the skin of the chicken wing. At first we thought it might just be on one wing and was a mistake, but as we looked closer, we quickly realized these black hairs were on EVERY SINGLE WING. We called the waitress over the to table to let her know about our discovery. Her response to us: "well you know chicken wings have hairs on them". YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. After a bit more back and forth, she finally agreed to take the wings back to the kitchen to "check with the cook". We sat there for another 10 minutes debating whether or not to just get up and leave (in hindsight, we should have). She finally returned and said "I guess the hairs were the chef's, but you know he was wearing a mask". SERIOUSLY?! We ended up cancelling the rest of our food and leaving as quickly as we could. Would give this place 0 stars for service, food, cleanliness etc. etc. Spare yourself the health risk and terrible service and go elsewhere....anywhere else! read more

I've been coming here for years for their delicious burgers and homemade chips with dip. The inside of the restaurant is cozy. There are about a dozen tables, a small bar, and a patio with a few more tables. The restaurant gets busy so I usually only come here if I can get there as soon as they open. Back into your parking spot too! The parking lot is as "cozy" as the inside of the restaurant. The service varies, but has never been amazing. I come for the food and forgive the service. The menu is large with typical bar foods, sandwiches, and burgers. The best food item here without a doubt is the burgers. You choose your patty size and toppings. Each burger comes with homemade potato chips and a homemade French onion dip. During the summer they offer a Greek Chicken Pasta Salad that is light and delicious. read more

Recommended to me by my realtor, I have been back many times and have taken out of town visitors as well. They are always crowded and we have spent 30 minutes at the bar a few times (not a bad place to be). Guinness on tap, but this is Cleveland after all. The menu is kind of neat and all the items are exceptionally good. Their homemade potato chips are excellent and come with most sandwiches. We've been there for many a light meal and never come away disappointed. The place could easily be expanded but they like it just the way it is. One of my favorite bars in the area. Always a good conversation at the bar. Be careful when you leave - if you make a left and go over the tracks, you are in Bay Village. The town is dry and the police have been known to sit in the parking lot of the shopping center just past the tracks. You are much better of going out the other way, towards Detroit Road. This place is not bad for bar food and has a great little patio out back. I came in on a Friday night for dinner with a couple other people. We didn't have to wait but almost every table on the patio was filling up. I did not order any alcohol but a friend tried to order two different beers and they were out of both. I had a burger with BBQ pork on it. I asked for it done medium well and it was cooked to my liking. However I also asked for tomato and lettuce and I didn't get it. I didn't mention it because by the time I had eaten the wings we ordered for an appetizer i was barely hungry for the burger and ended up taking most of it to go. We were looking for ribs to take out in the area, and mistakenly confused the menu for this Moosehead for the one in Avon. The ribs were just ok, not bad, but not really anything to return for either. Also, not much to choose from in the in sides department, so we just went with chips...blah. Disappointing because they are a 5 minute drive for us. Service unfortunately isn't any better than the food. There are too many other restaurants/bars in the area with far better food, and act as if they really want our business. If you're in the mood for ribs and don't want to travel, check out Avon Moosehead, they're actually pretty good. If you don't mind driving just a little further east, west or south, you will find far better bbq. As for trying anything else on the menu, don't really want to go back. While I wouldn't say the place was dirty, I wouldn't call it especially clean either. read more

Been coming here once or twice a year for years. That will change to rarely, if ever, mostly due to pricing. I know restaurants are charging more recently due to various factors, but this is ridiculous. ordered a burger, $12.49. Burger comes with house chips, I prefer fries and was told there would be an up charge. No problem, I expected a $1, or two. No..it was $3.79.....really. That makes a burger and fries $16.28, higher than almost any bar/restaurant anywhere in the area, and that includes the one next door. Not even a great burger, very bland. Fries were good though. Top that off with the price of a coke at $3.49.....again, higher than any other bar/restaurant. Sadly we won't be back. read more

Like others, my feelings about Moosehead were just average. The restaurant is small, but has a cozy almost lodge-like feel that my boyfriend and I enjoyed. Our food on the other hand was just so-so. I ordered the Melwood burger and he ordered the roast beef sandwich. The burger was good and was cooked well, but something about it just fell flat. I really wasn't anything special and the toppings really weren't anything unique. He felt his roast beef was pretty underwhelming, as well. He was hoping for something a little more homestyle and a good comfort food, but this sandwich wasn't it. Service was mediocre, as well. Refills were slow and there were several times our glasses were empty and our server walked by, glanced at them, and moved along. After finishing our meal, our plates sat on the table for quite a bit (clearly finished-- napkins on our plate, etc.) and she didn't stop to take our plates, bring our bill, or offer desserts. They know how to cook pork. Surprisingly good pulled pork sandwich. Baby back ribs are delicious. Even the bbq sauce that tops em both is really good. Solid turkey burger and chicken sandwich. Just good food. The service can be slow, seems like staff is shorthanded most of the time. read more

TLDR: MS needs to up-level the quality of the food (as you'll see mentioned in several other reviews). Atmosphere and service were good. Coffee: Not very good. Small cup of chili: Tasty but was overpriced at $5.50. It had a nice kick to it. I might order this again. Blackened Tuna Salad: Description called out a salad of "mixed greens". I'm not sure why restaurants in Cleveland think people want to eat a mix of iceberg and romain hearts. I would have preferred a nice spring mix or spinach salad which would have complimented the tuna much better. Ordered the tuna medium rare and it came out medium. The seasoning on the tuna was so salty it completely ruined the dish. I found the balsamic dressing overpowering and left it on the side. They never checked the order My sandwich was apparently done 10 minutes before the rest of the order, bread so soggy, it no longer was bread, it was a grilled chicken with mush. Paid $45, $5 at McDonalds would have been a better investment. Called them, they will give us free fry next time we are in, great. Unfortunately doesn't make the tasteless chicken and mush sandwich any better, couldn't even stomach eating half of it. Never again. read more
