If you're tired after a long day of work or exams from school, come here to relax and enjoy! Started off with an intensive, meticulous, and detailed pedicure. Viet (owner) gave me a citrus scrub and the aroma smells goodt with a T at the end because she is talented! Ends the pedicure with a lotion massage and hot towel. Oh and before I forget, I also got to sit on a massage chair and experience a feet jacuzzi. You can refer to the other reviews for their manicure. Recommend this establishment with my utmost respectful regard because they survived the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope that the yelp squad blesses them with more new business and tips :) (if you have the money to tip for their excellent service of course - students might be struggling)

I absolutely adore this place! I've now had my nails done there probably 10 times or so. I feel incredibly welcomed here. The salon is owned by a kind husband and wife. The husband is very sweet and accommodating. I feel comfortable to request something be done differently if I don't like something or even if I change my mind on a color/shape/length, etc. I truly can't recommend this place enough. I won't go to any other salon after finding this place

I decided to try out Moon's Nails and Spa. Emmy helped me and she was so detail oriented - from start to finish!! From continuing to warm the water for my pedicure (ensuring the water stayed hot); to testing out different colors. She was very meticulous with trimming and nails. I felt very cared for! Regular pedicure came with a nice leg/ foot scrub. Hot rocks, a lotion massage, and a hot towel to end. I'll be back next week for my gel manicure!

Figured I'd give this place a try since it had so many great reviews but in the end I was very unhappy with my experience. Both husband and wife were working and the salon was super slow so need to rush but it felt as though the husband was rushing. The gel nail polish came out very thick with bubbles making the surface of the nail not smooth. He was very rough and cut my fingers a few times. I had to ask him to clean the powder underneath my nails which made him annoyed. Since I was the only one there I decided to calmly bring up the issues to them only for them to not care at all.

Right after my appointment - crooked nail and powder/polish does not cover my nail.

Honestly super disappointed with the service. Really wanted to give this place a chance with all the good reviews and crowd I see while driving by. Went in for grad nails just some simple coffin shaped white acrylics. The person who did my nails was really nice but did not do a good job. As someone with sensitive and weak nails who does not get acrylics often, I thought I shouldn't be surprised by a cut or two. But I have cuts on ALL my fingers. The nail tech noticed the fresh cuts appearing as she went from nail to nail and just giggled and apologized - but it kept happening. As a result I had redness and pain/stinging under water for 3-4 days after :( I thought it would be worth if it the nails turned out well, but that did not happen either. Some nails are filed crooked, others the powder/nail polish doesn't cover my full nail. I really think the drill and file were overused (shape) and not properly used (cuts). Maybe it was just my experience or my nail tech, but I don't think the service was worth the $50 :(

I'm only giving it two stars because the person that did my pedicure did a great job. But lets talk about the nails.. So I asked for my natural nail to be painted a french tip. There was an older woman there who I later learned was the owner of the store, who insisted that she put the acrylic on my nails instead. I allowed it to happen under the impression that she knew what she was doing.. and she didn't. The acrylic was super nubby and caked on. On multiple fingers I could see how the acrylic was not evenly applied to the nailbed, cracking towards the cuticles. Despite using the drillbit, they were not evenly shaped and the french tip design wasn't consisted at all. It was very clear that the person that did them didn't have the skills necessary to correct the issue. In the end, I went somewhere else for them to correct the mistake, however, that's not why I'm leaving this review. I called them the same day and informed them that the design wasn't great, and because of my plans I couldnt come back at the given time to consult them. I was told I'd be contacted again but then I was promptly ghosted. I had to get my nails fixed somewhere else. I called them 4 days later to catch up on the incident, and they told me to come into the store to discuss a refund. I met with the woman who did my nails, and she didn't want to see the pictures I took of her nail job at all. She was infact very short with me and said she'd give me $20 back so long as I never called or consulted them about my nails again. There wasn't really any accountability held when it came to the fact that she did a bad nail job. She was pissed with me that I had something to say about her work. I tried to be understanding of the pressure she was under, having to cater to many women the same day that she did my nails. I thought maybe it was just a matter of pressure, but I quickly realized after today that she was not open to recieving feedback. I wouldn't come here to get an acrylic set ever again.

I've been here for a couple of pedicures, a full set, and three fills. Every time I come my appointment starts on time, everything is clean, and it's a great environment. I'm a nail biter so my fingers were pretty beat up, but my nail tech was really gentle with me! When she put my tips on, we realized that the particular clear nail/white tip design I wanted wouldn't look good with how short my natural nail was, and she helped me find something else that I loved just as much. So professional, nice, and a great experience.

This place is really bad bussiness the guy is super rude and they do a really poor job had to ask many times to fix nails. Makes rude comments if it isn't at your standard. I have been to many better place that come no we're near how bad this place is. My nails were burning and itching after going there. Don't ever recommend to anyone. I do my own nails ten times better than this place and I won't pay a single penny to ever go back again. Worst business and customer service. I know some better places and feel free to contact me if you need recommendation. I also had to come home and redo them because I wasn't satisfied. The guy makes super rude comments and does a super poorly job. never going there again. read more

LOVED this nail salon, the staff was so warm, friendly and inviting. The pedicure was AMAZING, was so pleasantly surprised that it included a scrub and hot stone massage. I was never a big mani/padi fan until I went to Moon's. The staff there is just lovely. You can tell that they value their costumers and try their best to keep them happy. Moon is a fantastic, very observant manager and makes sure you leave the store satisfied. Though their work is good, I'm obsessed with them mostly because of the friendly atmosphere. It's a great place to go with a friend, as it gives you a good relaxing time to catch up and have fun. I usually get and recommend the combo ($35), which includes manicure and pedicure but costs less than manicure+pedicure. You can get gel for $15 more, and nail designs/drawings for $5 more. Unfortunately they don't offer the complimentary wine anymore, but make sure to get yourself some complimentary tea! read more

Love this place! I haven't been in Davis too long but Moon's welcomes every person in. V took care of my classic manicure and pedicure and CRUSHED it. I have the awful habit of biting my nails... especially during finals week. I came in today and V shaped and cleaned up my nails perfectly. Loved my experience here! I went in at 10:45 am on mother's day to get a gel mani. I called ahead of time to make sure it wasn't crowded. It was perfect timing. The ladies are very friendly and hospitable. I was given a bottle of cold water and they got started right away. The salon itself was clean and nicely decorated. I was impressed with the wide selection of OPI nail polishes. I loved that they even labeled the gel swatches with OPI colors. I chose OPI red for my mani. read more

They will rip you off if you are too nice. I paid 70 dollars for a French manicure that came out like this. The wall literally says 35 for a full set and 5 for French. This should be 40 dollars read more

I came here for a full set and my friend got a regular manicure. Her manicure was fine and she came out unscathed which is why I put some stars. BUT if you're gonna come here for acrylics I suggest you don't Atleast for now. The lady doing my acrylics was so rough on my nails and cuticles that all my fingers except one have wounds and are bleeding. She used a drill bit for EVERYTHING. My cuticles were drilled off instead of nipped off and lead to them bleeding! Even with a nail file she broke skin. When I brought up that it hurts and that I'm bleeding she told me that it's "supposed to hurt" like WHAT???? Some of the nails are not straight like the shape is supposed to be and the polish work isn't great. There are air bubbles and they're just not applied well. After leaving I came back because my fingers kept stinging and all they did was put some antiseptic on them. Pretty sure the antiseptic has been used on multiple people as well. So all in all don't come here especially if you're getting acrylics read more

Moon's has become my go to nail salon in Davis. The prices are super reasonable and they can almost always book you an appointment for the same day (which I love because I never plan ahead enough). I've had a few different people do my nails and had mixed results. The best, by far, was when I went in for dipped nails. There is only one person who does dip so make sure to book in advanced as it takes longer than gel and she does book up so it's less likely to get a walk in. For my gel manicures, like I said, I've had mixed results. I think it has a lot to do with the polish but I've had some nails last only 6 or 7 days and some last a full 2 weeks+. I honestly think it has a lot to do with the polish, however, as I've had amazing luck with glitter polish consistently. Definitely my go to spot, and I'll continue coming here! read more

Came here with my friends and got 3 sets of nails together. We were all pretty confused/ nervous since it was our first time getting our nails done, but the staff were very patient and understanding the whole time! Great color selection and we were all very happy with the results!! Atmosphere was very friendly- definitely recommend for nails! First time going here, but definitely won't be the last! Everyone was so nice, and they have a new protocols and spacing, as well as set up with dividers to keep everyone safe during COVID. I got a dip manicure, and it is one of the best dip manicures I've ever gotten! My boyfriend came with me and got a pedicure, and he said it was extremely relaxing! This was a rare outing for us during my birthday weekend, and I'm so thankful we got to do so safely, and had a wonderful experience! read more

TLDR: Spent $50 on a manicure that took 2 hours & didn't even last a week. Manager kept trying to overcharge me. I chose this place because it has higher reviews than others in Davis & they were taking major precautions due to COVID19. Biggest mistake I've made in awhile. Never underestimate a "quality" business's ability to fail you in your hour of need. (Yeah I'm being a bit dramatic, but that makes it more interesting to read.) They made me wash my hands, wear a face mask, & they even took my temperature before I entered. AWESOME. We were off to a great start. It all went downhill from there. I asked for a full acrylic set, with gel polish. They told me that the gel polish would cost an extra $5. Sure, that's fine. I sit down & the technician gets to work. She's struggling to find nails that fit me, complaining that my nails are "so tiny." Okay, sure, kinda rude, but whatever. She keeps struggling, attaching a few different sizes only for them to pop right off (she was definitely not putting enough glue, I've never had a nail tech struggle so much to do an acrylic job). She's cutting my nails down to size--I requested coffin shaped nails. Again, the manager says that any nail shape other than rectangular is an additional $5. Kinda weird, but I let it slide, just like all the other weird stuff. The tech shaves part of the nail side off, making it obviously lopsided, & I mention to her that I'd like her to redo it. Not rude, not out of the blue. I'm paying for this, so I may as well get what I want. The manager walks over & starts explaining to me how acrylics work, that I need to be patient, that it'll all work out & it "isn't really lopsided" it just "looks that way." Wtf? The real kicker? She tells me it's ANOTHER $5 to redo the nail. Mind you, the lady hasn't even shaped them completely, there's no polish. It's literally just the nail tip & no other covering, not even the acrylic powder. Naturally, I argued this. You're really gonna charge me to get what I want? When you're already ripping me off? Seriously?! She backed down, perhaps because she realized how insane she was being. The tech continued her work. & continued. & continued. & CONTINUED. It took nearly 2 HOURS for this woman to finish my full set. 2. Hours. I have never in my life had an acrylic set, much less a manicure, take such an insanely long time. I mean this chick was working at a glacial pace. By the time she was done, the nails looked great, thank god. I paid & left. The manager kept apologizing to me, saying that she didn't mean to come off as combative--I accept that, that's okay. We all have rough days & I just decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. My total was $50 for the manicure, plus tip. Cut to 6 days later--4 of my nails popped off. They didn't even last a full week. I specifically paid for the acrylics & the gel polish because I expected them to at least last a few weeks. The nail tech even told me that they should last around a month. I've had acrylics many many times before, most of the WAY CHEAPER than this place, & they lasted weeks! This place wasted my time & my money, only to have their subpar work disintegrate in less than a week. Truthfully, I wish I could get my money back. $50 for crap. That's $50 I could use for other things, like getting a manicure that actually de-stresses me instead of making my life worse. I wish they'd refund it or at least redo it. It was terrible. Don't waste your time here. It's a money trap & it isn't worth it. read more

My nail technician, Tiffany, was really personable, funny, and really took her time on me. This was honestly the best pedicure I ever had in my life! Best bday ever!!!! read more

This place has gone downhill. Booked an appointment a week ago for two people. I was left in the middle of my pedi to wait while the other person I was with got theirs done. I just sat there waiting at least 20 min for my pedicure to continue and then get a manicure. Unknown why this place takes appointments? read more

This was my first time and it was horrible. The young man that worked there seemed as if he was just a regular old UCD student. My nails took a very long time to be completed and my feet came out the worse. A lady I believe that was the owner had asked me how was my service because she was hesitant about giving me my change back because I didn't leave a tip. I told her it was okay. I explained it took a very long time and she defended him and said that he is a perfectionist and I laughed. My feet came out horrible as you can see below. read more

This is my go-to nail salon in Davis, not only because the employees are more than happy to discuss any color/design preferences you have in mind, but also because they are friendly and genuinely care about their customers. One day, I walked in to simply fix two fingers that had recently chipped. After removing the old polish, Hannah (the awesome owner) decided that it would be best to just redo all my gel nails....for free!! She did a wonderful job and I was so so thankful. I absolutely recommend this place if you ever find yourself stuck making that tough choice between the excellent nail salons in Davis. :) read more

I got my nails done yesterday and I'm really disappointed. I got all nails extended with dip-in powder, and gel color. After the lady whose name is Linda I believe did the nail extension part, she did not compare the length of my left hand fingernails to my right hand fingernails. I even had to mention to her about the problem that the length did not quite match. This is so unprofessional. Then she started to put on the gel color, but she painted so messy that there was even gel polish on my hand. I asked her that if she's gonna clean them up later, but she just used the nail file and rubbed it on my skin real quick and told me it's done. And she stood up and walked away. She gave me a feeling like she just wanna finished her work as soon as possible and get my money; however other people who worked at this salon seemed ok and nice. The first picture I attached was during the whole process,the edge of my finger started to bleed, but she said it's fine and she didn't even give me a tissue or anything. The second and the third picture is how messy my nails she pained, I feel like I can do a better job at home. After all, this has been a very unpleasant experience for me and I will never go there again. read more

Customer service is still excellent but the quality could be better. I got a gel manicure with a design for a wedding over the weekend and the polish is already cracked and lifting - it's only been 24 hours! Definitely not how I wanted my nails to look at the wedding and definitely not worth $45. read more

After going to several nail salons around town, And receiving both terrible manicures and pedicures, and experiencing terrible wait times and bad service, I've landed at Moons. Best quality and Moon is very responsive to the needs of her clientele. A really great salon experience all the way around. Sally is my personal favorite, but I haven't had a bad mani or pedi from any of the nail techs. And they don't talk about you in a foreign language! read more

I was needing to get a manicure & pedicure before heading on a spontaneous road trip! They were able to get my friend and and I on a last minute walk in on a Sunday afternoon. I sat down with Hannah and she did an amazing job on my gel set. She took her time and was very focused on the details. Great friendly service and clean salon! I just went in today for pedicure and some dip powder acrylics and I could not have left any happier. I loved the service, the attention to details, everything was honestly just great. I would highly recommend this place! Finally found my go-to nail salon in Davis! The owner was also amazingly sweet, kept asking if I needed water or hot tea (which was really nice considering how cold it was outside) read more

I had my first manicure since March today and I must admit I was a bit hesitant. My worries were needless because the folks at Moon have set up the salon to feel quite safe. They take your temp and ask you to use sanitizer before you sign in. It is now by appointment only so the salon wasn't full of people waiting. My manicure was done by Thaou AKA Jen and she did an awesome job. I recommend her highly as well as the salon. Great job Moon. read more

Yesterday was my second time going to Moon's and honestly Sally is really amazing. She is extremely meticulous and always checks in with you. The woman who helped me was very kind and friendly, which makes it hard to leave a negative review, but I feel it's necessary. She threaded my eyebrows in less than 30 seconds per brow--far too quickly for the precision this service requires. When I looked in the mirror, I was shocked. My eyebrows were drastically over-thinned and noticeably uneven, with the right brow much thinner than the left. I was PANICKING! I wish I could give them the benefit of the doubt and say they tried their best, but the rushed job made it clear that they weren't being careful. I strongly do not recommend this place and will not be returning. I'm giving two stars solely because of the staff's friendliness, but the quality of service is a firm one-star.
