I love this bar. My friend recommended we meet up here for the rooftop unfortunately there was torrential rain so that made it impossible so we sat in a table Even with that the ambiance is just stunning and the drinks are amazing I got the jalapeno infused highball reposada, this was excellent my mixed cocktail was the konga Highlander which was also excellent My friend got their version of the old fashioned which had a really fancy ice cube with flowers Frozen on the inside. It was good but I liked my drinks much better Excellent service. The key selling point is the location and the ambiance but the drinks really match. The prices on the higher side, each drink is almost $30 but you're paying for all of the experiences above. I did not try any of the food but I think it's going to be pretty good from what I saw when we were sitting and looking at other tables. Parking is on the street and I would say if you're planning to come here for a quick meet up it would be an excellent choice.
I recently enjoyed a birthday staycation at the Pendry and decided to finally visit Moonraker, which has been on my rooftop restaurant bucket list for quite some time. I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations! First, let's talk about the view--absolutely stunning. Our table offered beautiful views of the water and skyline through the large windows. Although it rained for a bit during our visit, it didn't take away from the experience. In fact, watching the rain against the backdrop of the water and city made the atmosphere even more memorable. The ambiance inside Moonraker was incredible. The décor is elegant and modern, and I especially loved the statement lighting above the bar--it added the perfect touch to the overall aesthetic. While the entire staff was wonderful, I have to give special recognition to two standout team members: Jarae and Amber. Jarae, the hostess, was warm, welcoming, and made sure we felt taken care of from the moment we arrived. She checked in throughout our visit and provided exceptional customer service. Amber, our server, was simply top-tier. She was professional, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the menu and local attractions in the DC area. Her food recommendations were spot-on, she kept our drinks refreshed, replaced our utensils between courses, and made sure every detail of our dining experience was seamless. The sweet birthday treat that Amber and Jarae surprised me with was the perfect finishing touch and made my celebration feel extra special. The food was another major highlight. We ordered the Maryland Crab Fried Rice, paired it with the cod, and I also tried a sushi roll (I can't remember the name, but it happened to be Jarae's favorite--so definitely ask for her recommendation!). The cod was perfectly cooked and practically melted in our mouths. The crab fried rice was packed with real crab, and they certainly didn't skimp on the portions. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and worth every penny. Overall, I highly recommend Moonraker. It definitely gets busy, especially around the bar area, so I strongly suggest making a reservation in advance. Between the breathtaking views, amazing food, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding service, this is a place I'll absolutely be returning to--especially this summer to explore more of the menu. We returned the next morning for breakfast, and the excellent service continued. Elene was our server, and she was absolutely wonderful--friendly, attentive, and very pleasant throughout our meal. She made our breakfast experience just as enjoyable as our dinner the night before.
My two friends and I had a good experience with Moonraker before a concert at The Anthem. We wanted to get a cute dinner before our show, unfortunately, we got stuck in really bad 95 traffic and they were super accommodating with our reservation when we called to let them know. It's located on the rooftop of the Pendry hotel. You take the express elevator to the far left to get there. We shared their last bottle of vino verde that was very refreshing. We tried a bunch of different things on their menu. Our favorite was the tempura cauliflower, I highly recommend ordering this. I found myself wanting more from the hamachi crudo, but it was still fine. I loved my ora king salmon yaki puff. It was super unique and I recommend ordering one. My one friend enjoyed her veggie roll. The other got the Maryland Crab Roll (which I found to not have as much flavor as I wanted). Do know that they do not split checks here, which wasn't an issue for us. It's on the far end of the Wharf near one of the parking lots. This place is beyond aesthetically pleasing. We loved the bar and gorgeous views. It's quite pricey for what you get, but that's to be expected on The Wharf. Great for a date night!
Went here for pre-show at arena stage dinner and drinks. Made a same day reservation which was easy, though it was full so not sure if we would have snagged a spot without a reservation. Everyone from hostess to servers were kind and attentive. My first drink was a filthy vodka martini, and it was weird! Haha didn't taste like it should, I should have stuck with the specialty cocktails which were delicious. Food was good, we got 4 items between two of us and I felt perfectly full. They are definitely small bites. The stand out by FAR was the hamachi yaki puff, oh my goodness, I could have eaten 5 more. The steak and cheese was probably my least favorite, wouldn't order again. For 4 drinks and 4 food items it did come out to $200 (before tip). Pricey for sure, but I knew what I was in for! Also the ambiance is beautiful! Would definitely come back - the champagne and fried chicken special looks like a fun date night option!!
Food was good but a little bit on the saltier side for my liking. I only ordered mocktails but those were good too, quite refreshing. Nice view at the top. I think you're primarily paying for the view than for food and drinks.
Moonraker is serving up some of the best rooftop views in DC in my opinion. Located at the Wharf in the Pendry hotel, this restaurant has a Japanese inspired menu. I came in for some birthday drinks on a Thursday evening. Parking was super easy in the neighborhood. We were able to get a table for 2 right away. Our server was very knowledgable and kind. We order to glasses of champagne and an order of their hamachi. Their hamachi was a 7/10, nothin super special but it was plated really nicely. The champagne was crisp and cold. We weren't able to sit outside because it had just finished raining however we were still able to pop outside to take photos. I'd come back again to Moonraker for a celebration or for a date.
If you love a beautiful view, upscale ambience, great drinks, and quality sushi -- then Moonraker is your spot. The sushi is fresh and the champagne is crisp. Celebrating a promotion, life event, or just life in general? Moonraker is ready to deliver! I had the Wall Street roll: Ora King Salmon, Hamachi, Avocado, Okinawa Potato, Truffle Kewpie, Crispy Shallots Most rolls are priced between $20-25, however, there are A5 wagu options for about $50, and caviar/A5 wagu options for a little over $100. Oh and did I mention the food came out to quick and to perfection?! Cheers in advance to a successful night at Moonraker!
This is really cool and dope space with an incredible view of the river that you just can't beat. The atmosphere is beautiful and stylish with a really nice bar and plenty of space around the bar to relax located on the top level of the Pendry. It's a real vibey spot - great for all occasions. I came here for drinks with friends and was really happy with our choice. I had the old fashioned and it was excellent - made just right. I really appreciate a place that knows how to make a proper cocktail and Moonraker definitely delivered. Our bartender was great and made sure we had what we needed and also did a great job with making our cocktails. While I only stuck to drinks this time, the menu looked great and I'll definitely be back to try some of their food along with more cocktails. Between the unbeatable views, great drinks, and overall vibe, I can easily see this becoming one of my go-to spots for days or nights out with friends. I'll be back!!
Drink review only - Moonraker is exactly what you want it to be: bougie, upscale, with stunning views. Took the boyfriend's parents here when they were visiting, and they loved the views and vibes. We had beers and wine this time, but I've had their cocktails previously and remember them being great. Can't comment on food and probably wouldn't come here for a meal, but the drinks and service are wonderful.
-- Do you expect me to talk? -- No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! Unfortunately, the 007 movie "Moonraker" doesn't have any really memorable lines (the above is from Goldfinger), but James Bond was the first thing that came to mind when I made reservations at Moonraker. Moonraker is a rooftop hideaway atop the Pendry Hotel on DC's The Wharf, with Japanese-inspired bites and sushi with a panoramic view of downtown. It was a chilly evening and so we sat inside by the bar. It's very intimate, very, very tight quarters as we were squeezed against the glass windows with a tiny table. Conversations were loud. There is another section, away from the bar, but I specifically asked to be seated in this room though they were persistently trying to get us to go to the other room. We enjoyed tempura cauliflower, Tokyo fried chicken, dashi cacio e Pepe, misoyaki cod, and rolls. Dishes were small but enough to share. We thought about (but did not order) the Millionnaire Roll ($111). We were full but not stuffed. This is more of a bar/see and be scene kind of place. Staff was attentive. We made reservations but ended up waiting 15-20 minutes before being seated. Bon appetite! (You only live twice)
Not my first time at Moonraker, but first time back in a while! This is your upscale bar with gorgeous views and well dressed patrons. Perfect for a date night if you have some extra money, it's not on the cheaper side of things. I usually only have drinks here and they're always a hit. Bartenders are great! I tried the Hamachi crudo this time and it was one of the best crudos I've had! Perfectly sweet and sour without being too acidic! I want more just thinking about it. Service was also amazing as far as table seating was concerned. Despite being booked up, they were able to accommodate us as walk-ins, but I would suggest making a reservation!
I love dropping by here from time to time on a weekday. The views are beautiful and while a tad pricey, enjoy their sushi as well. If you come here off peak, you'll find this place will feel like a serene getaway. I've visited on the weekends as well, which everyone is dressed up a notch visiting for a night out on the town. It will likely be very crowded with limited seating without reservations, but the evenings are when I have the most fun enjoying the patio, fire pits and breeze from off the river. Service when they first opened was a bit spotty but in recently visits they have been on point! Definitely a great vibe if you enjoy a taste of upscale without too much of an overly pretentious, sceney atmosphere.
Zoe! Sweetest server and I had the best birthday with my man here. Stunning views, delicious sushi and tokyo chicken, and nice service. Once you valet, take the elevators up to PH and you're in a celebratory champagne bubble. Thank you Zoe for making our night special!
We stopped here Friday evening after grabbing a light bite at a nearby restaurant. There was a concierge or host at the bottom of the elevator routing foot track and managing the table seating. Here, there's no standing room so you either RSVP or waitlist. After discussing this arrangement with the staff, I totally like the idea of only seating-only accommodating so that it won't get toooo packed and you aren't having people reach over or stand over you while dining/drinking (the bar seats are event reserved). In comparison to the popular 12 stories, this rooftop top has a large outdoor space where it wraps around both sides of the small indoor bar area. It's quite large, with fire pits and games in one area--a true outdoor rooftop experience. The only bad part is there was quite a bit of flies outdoors, so you'd worry about it getting in your drink, food, or hair (bugs got in a drink and in his hair lol). But! They have bought some bug repellant tools so hopefully it functions much better as the summer goes on. Overall we were happy with the food and beverages and would absolutely return! The Chanan Pork Belly Fried Rice was absolutely tasty, I could not stop thinking about that dish for days! read more
This rooftop bar overlooking the wharf is everything you'll need to set off your stay at the Pendry. My bartender the first night was responsible for crafting quite a few drinks on the menu and his pour game was exceptional. Be sure to spend some time outside with the fire pits overlooking the water! I didn't try the food, only drinks, but I hear good things so I'll give it a try next time. read more

Why is this only 3.5 stars??? Came here last minute on a Friday night for a cocktail around 6:30pm. The "gatekeeper" at the elevator downstairs called up to make sure there was seating at the bar. There was plenty at that time (it filled up$. I ordered the Bonny Goes Bananas. It is a banana infused Hennessy VS orange curaçao, lemon, salted Demerara cocktail. It was delicious. I did not try the food. The music was setting a good vibe The view is off the charts! Service was great. Luis took great care of me. read more
Wanted to check this place out after seeing some of the pics on Yelp. Took me a while to find it as it's inside the hotel and doesn't have a street entrance. Walking into the hotel I was approached and asked how I could be helped. Told them I was looking for Moonraker and was escorted to the hostess. This part annoyed me, the hostess made it seemed like I couldn't be seated due to not having a reservation, which I can understand. I then told her I could come back another day and she changed her tone and said she could probably fit me at the bar as I was solo. She had this annoyed look on her face and walks me to the elevator and swipe her badge to give me access to the penthouse level. At this moment I knew I should have looked at the menu prices lol. Here comes the moment I got annoyed, elevator doors open and the place is empty! Why was I such an inconvenience to be seated? I sat at the bar and proceeded to look thru the menu. This is more of a drinking spot with small plates but with big plate prices. Regardless I had my mind set on some items I wanted to try so I ordered my drink first. I went with the man on the moon which is their version of an old fashion but with Japanese whiskey. This drink was a 10/10! It was well balanced and very smooth. I could have easily drank two or three more. Why didn't I? Because this one drink was $22. For food I tried the tempura asparagus. This was a disappointment. The quantity was a good portion size for the price. However, the quality was not and flavor was not. The lemon whipped sauce had no flavor. The fried asparagus was also very plain. I then ordered the crispy rice, spicy tuna. This was plated very nice but was also very basic. You only get two pieces for $18. At Thai point the bartender could tell I wasn't impressed with my food. He asked if I wanted another drink and I told him no. I then told him I was still hunger and didn't want anymore food from here as it didn't meet my expectations. He then walked off and started making a shot and brought it to me. He said it was on him. The shot was very good. I asked him what was it and he responded "it's my own creation" I then asked what's in it and his response was "it's a secret". I think it was the hunger kicking at this point cause I was annoyed again. I thanked him for the secret shot and left. read more

I can't say enough about Moonraker. The views, the food and the drinks are amazing. I must say it is super expensive IMO. We enjoyed everything! The drinks (we had Blushing Geisha and one other...I can't remember the name) were so good. We definitely had too many! The tempura cauliflower was my fave but the fried chicken, dumplings and tuna rolls were delish. Honestly, all of that was filling for 2 people. We did have a dessert that was a unique take on cheesecake. It was delish. The service was amazing. Everyone was extremely nice. Food came out timely. The service definitely matched the prices! If you are not familiar with the area, the restaurant is located in Pendry Hotel (penthouse level). There is a parking garage. If you drive, give yourself additional time (30 minutes) to get to the parking garage and park. If you can, uber is the best way to go. read more

I love a good rooftop and Moonraker is definitely a GOOD rooftop! Located on top of the new DC waterfront Pendry Hotel, Moonraker gives you a sense of exclusivity. With it's own door person at the elevator to check you in, Moonraker absolutely requires a reservation.. so no walk-ins! I hear, even if you only want bar service, it can be a hassle without a reservation. Although we went on a chilly evening, the views from the wall to ceiling windows were awesome. The interior is a bit smaller than I had imagined, however, they have ample seating outside, so that's where I'll be dining the next time I visit in the VERY near future! :) Moonraker is an Asian Fusion restaurant, which intrigued me even more, being a sushi lover. The food was excellent but unfortunately there were a couple dishes that were no longer offered that I really wanted to try :( As soon as my alcohol fast is over, I will be returning to Moonraker to have a couple sexy drinks with fancy names while doing some major rooftop people watching!! lol read more

All I can say is...it is an EXPERIENCE!!! The Moonraker is it and live as FUGK! The food was great! Wish I had more pics but I was busy enjoying myself..the service was phenomenal and the ambiance was lit! Nothing like seeing classy people in service! The drinks lived up to their name and the VIEW! Oh my!!! I miss being home! PERIODT! There is nothing like the District of Columbia! If you're in town...take some time to visit MOONRAKER! It's an experience for sure! As usual, please like, share and follow! Cheers! read more
Ok, the service and drinks were epic!! I got the butterfly bloom and Nakijin Nectar and both were two of the best cocktails I've had. However, the food is highly overpriced with very small options, and average in taste, imo. Won't go there again to eat, but will 100% come back for the drinks and the views!!! read more

A friend mentioned to me, "why rate a 4 if you can't think of anything negative/needs improvement?" My first thought was to rate Moonraker with a 4, but I can't think of one thing that I would like to see improved. So, here we are with 5 stars. Located in the swanky Pendry Hotel, Moonraker offers beautiful views of the Wharf and delicious sushi. Although a bit small, Moonraker is elegantly adorned with black, white and gold furnishings. It screams "posh" and "elegance." During our visit, we tried the Edamame, Sunomono, the Ebi Roll and the Tuna Tataki Roll. Every dish was delicious and the platings were beautiful. For me, however, the Tuna Tataki Roll was the star -- Lobster, avocado, with Serrano Ponzu -- amazing! So enticing that we forget to snap pics! I didn't try any of their speciality cocktails. I like to keep things simple with tequila reposado on the rocks, so that's what I had. The service was standard. Nothing exceptional. She did her job. I would say to definitely put Moonraker on your list if it isn't already. Although it's located in the ever-busy, super populated wharf, Moonraker is lowkey...for now. read more
The Moonraker is one of DC's latest rooftop bars that opened at the Pendry Hotel. In regards to atmosphere and ambiance it is stunning!! The 360 bar seating adds an air of luxury and dramatics to the intimate space. Overall the drinks that we had were good - as my friend and I were only peckish, we tried the sushi which was tasty, but took over 35 mins to arrive (and it was far from a busy time). Will I be back? Yes - with all of the rave reviews, I'll give it another try and hopefully at a better time. We got there an hour or so before the kitchen was closing and it was clear that the staff were tired. I'd also like to try out more of the menu - hopefully there'a another menu aside from the one that we got. Because that was mainly very lite bites. read more

We spent three glorious hours at this rooftop gem yesterday and the only things I can honestly find to complain about was trying to figure out where the entrance was, perhaps a which was not a big deal at all, so basically, there's nothing to complain about. I cannot deal with how fantastic the views from this restaurant were(we sat on the airport side and it felt like a true oasis with how far you could see), the outdoor lounge chairs that are truly big enough to lounge in while you eat(I am trying to find out the manufacturer because I NEED those chairs!), the well portioned and beautiful cocktails (the man on the moon was a gorgeously elevated and delicious take on an old fashioned), the food fantastic(we had the pork belly fried rice, shishedo peppers, Japanese fried chicken, and dumplings and we inhaled all of it) and outstanding service (we were running late but the host staff made us feel so welcome, Chris was an amazing manager who continually checked on us, and Shanta set the tone for every server in the world with her beyond friendly engagement and knowledge of the menu. We shockingly only had one drink in those three hours but never felt pressure to move, even when it started getting busy. Oh and our water glasses stayed filled which honestly is a refreshing old school touch that has been missing from restaurants for awhile. I am actually a fan of them not having happy hour prices, because it makes the rooftop manageable with the amount of patrons; with that view it could easily become a regular destination. I cannot wait to come back, as this was an absolutely amazing experience. Well done to the team!! read more

Great food for the Japanese lover in me and rooftop setting for a great date night or girls night out. I'm addicted to the the shrimp dumplings. I always order 2 of them. Yes, 2 orders because it's just that good! The crab lobster roll is another addition and a great option to share item. It's pretty hearty. The fried rice is delicious, as well. Those are my top 3 items. - Minus 1 star because there can be a hassle and disorganization when trying to get up to the rooftop if you don't have a reservation and want to visit the bar. Even when the bar is empty. Not sure why this is happening. Hopefully they can rectify this issue because everytime, I do go up to the bar it's empty, but people are either turn away downstairs. read more
Location location location with amazing roof top views of the Wharf....periodt. We arrived at 2:30pm to be told they close at 3pm and reopen at 4pm ok no worries they were super polite. Came back at 4pm and since we didn't have a reservation we were seated outside which was super hot but managed to move to a shaded area, result! Tequila espresso martini was delicious, however everyone else's drinks off the cocktail menu were not as delicious, so Shayna our server took them off the check (she was amazing). Sushi and edamame was very good. Prices were extreme for what we got and probably wouldn't make an effort to return but if you are looking for views and ambiance don't hesitate to go for a pre dinner cocktail. read more
Moonraker is located on the top level of the Pendry hotel, in Phase 2 of the Wharf development. I thought it was strange that you can't book reservations larger than parties of 4 online, but it was apparent why when I saw the place. The setup is very different. With a very large bar in the center of the room, the tables can really only sit 2 people or so each. There are tables for larger groups near the entrance, but it feels like you're almost sitting in the lobby. Doesn't seem very intuitive. However, there is a very large outdoor space with great views of the Potomac. I can see this being a nice place to eat and drink once the temperature warms up again. If I recommend just one thing on the menu, it would be the pork belly fried rice. So good! My friend enjoyed her tempura cauliflower as well. The crab roll was good, but nothing special. The fried chicken was not at all what I expected, but my friend said it tasted good. They enjoyed the salmon roll as well. As far as the drinks, it felt like I was drinking juice. They really need to consider adding more liquor to these cocktails. The food and drinks are extremely overpriced, considering the amount of liquor the cocktails contain and the portion sizes. You're definitely paying more for aesthetics and ambiance rather than value. I did enjoy my meal here however, and will be back to check out the outdoor space when it warms up. read more

I'll return again to (hopefully not) see why there's so many not great reviews. But my experience was so nice! We came in about an hour before closing and the host let us know last call would be in about 15 minutes which we were fine with, so they were able to sit us at the bar. The bar is beautiful! & I would love to come back during the day/near sunset. It seems like a perfect happy hour spot. The bartender (I think his name was James) was awesome! & didn't make us feel awkward for coming in so close to last call. For my first visit, I currently recommend! read more

I almost didn't review because I don't exactly know quite how I feel and these place definitely doesn't deserve a 3 star. The ambiance is interesting. It's a bar surrounded by a few tables. It is a great view of the water but it doesn't really house many people. You wouldn't really be able to host a big party inside the spot comfortably. The service was great up until a ton of famous people flooded the place which I'm assuming wasn't supposed to happen but this took our server away from us for longer than expected. My drink was good. I got the ichigo-go and it had a very unique taste. I like sweet drinks and it had just enough sweet for me. The ice cube inside is engraved and adorable however took up the majority of my glass and therefore was a smaller drink than expected for a hefty price of $22. For food I got the pork belly fried rice. Meh not for me. Rated 7/10. read more

Service was great. Everyone is so friendly!! Lovely decor but the food? Omg.. my kids got mad cuz it was bad... We had the tokyo chicken which was karaage and was well fried and the sauce was good. However the chahan pork fried rice which sounded good was...flavorless and just oddly spicy.. like what did they put in there???? We took a bite and stopped eating it and put it aside.. the fried egg it came was well fried but aside from the bad fried rice the pork belly tasted like something from some cheap chinese restaurant... So basically we paid $28 plus tip and taxes for a greatly fried egg. So if you looking for ambiance in the whatf area, its ok but just don't order anything that requires cooking. We are now waiting to pick up our take out elsewhere... read more

Great drinks with a wonderful view! The Pendry Hotel is a new spot on the Wharf that has a very cool bar on the lobby floor and two restaurants. We went to Moonraker their Japanese inspired restaurant. The stand out was the SUNOMONO (Cured Cucumber, Sweet Vinegar Dressing, Roasted Sesame) highly recommend it. The drinks were delicious. My Rose by Any Other Name even had a rose ice cube in it! They are a little pricey but delicious! The view also overlooks the Wharf. We went on a chilly night so we didn't get to enjoy it as much but looked great from what we could see. If you are looking for a change to your usual Wharf spots I would definitely give them a try. read more
I recently visited the Pendry Hotel and was able to experience both Bar Pendry and Moonraker. We had a wonderful experience at both. The bar is located at the top floor of the Pendry Hotel on the Wharf in DC. It's got panoramic views of SW DC. You can see the planes come and go from DCA. We visited at night, so the lights on the wharf provided a nice and intimate ambiance. We wanted to sit outside for a short period of time, but it was too windy and cold to be comfortable. Shoutout to everyone that tried turning on the fire pits for us. Service was attentive, quick, and very helpful. The entire menu is on the pricier side. We ordered drinks, crispy rice Salmon sushi, and the Tokyo fried chicken. I got the Blushing Geisha and my boyfriend got the U & Me. Both drinks had very generous pours and were on the boozier side. Delightful combinations, would recommend both. The crispy rice sushi was a bit expensive ($22 for two pieces, $11 per piece), though well executed. The rice was nice and golden brown fried, solid amount of fish and roe on top. The Tokyo fried chicken was the best "bang for our buck," so to speak, and came with a spicy-ish mayo-based sauce. Each piece was nicely breaded, chicken was not dry. Overall a lovely experience, though on the more expensive side. I'm not sure if i'll get a chance to visit again, but I enjoyed my time there. read more

We went on a stormy rainy night so hot a table right by the window. I can see the charm of the circular bar and the low seated tables. I was skeptical the sushi would actually be good... but my first hopeful sign was gluten free friend chicken bites ... and I was SO intrigued ... honestly it was delicious! They made the tuna roll gluten free and the chicken bites were bomb !! The cucumber salad was also crisp and fresh ! My cocktail was lovely and crisp and the yuzu profiteroles A MUST! Can't wait to go back and watch the sunset one day... read more
This place is only ok. I would only recommend it for the view. I think the biggest issue is it's stupidly expensive for what it actually is - tiny portions of ok food. The flavor palate has not been perfected - the food is either completely flavorless (the the cucumber salad - the sesame seeds weren't even toasted) to overly spiced to the point that it took away from the flavor (the poke!! Those chili flakes weee the worst - and they also put that on the veggie sushi roll). The shrimp roll was actually delicious - but that was the only food I was impressed with of what we tried. The service was great. Again, I wouldn't go back here or recommend it for the food but the terrace and the view is incredible (fire pits and lounge chairs). The tables inside are actually dangerous (I cut my toe on the bottom!!!) but the chairs are comfy and fun (spin)! read more
This place was perfect for a girls night!! My cousins and I loved the architecture of the place, gives a simple modern vibe the way it's designed. The table was quite small for the three of us, but doable luckily we didn't get a lot to eat. We had the crab roll which was okay but the truffle edamame I could much on all day. I think that's the only thing I'd come back for and pics of course! our server was okay, I was hesitant to try the sunset sour bc I don't drink whiskey and she offered to get me something else if I didn't like it...which I didn't so when I asked she got an attitude..? Seemed like all she cared is for the tip and not actually making her customers happy. I ended up getting the Tokyo to Tuscany drink which was really good and refreshing! I would give 5 stars but the service just wasn't it. Didn't appreciate the negative energy. read more

Was very excited to check out this cool spot. We got there around 8:30pm on a Monday night. and the place was basically empty. We waited around for a bit before someone attended to us to get water or our order. We were still looking at drinks but put in an order sushi. We got the sushi a few minutes later but the server never came back to get our drinks... till we were done with the sushi. At that point we didn't bother to our drinks and just got the check and went home. I was disappointed that the service wasn't attentive especially when the place was basically empty. read more

I want to start with the positives. Moonraker is a beautiful restaurant/bar. The outdoor patio was comfortable and the views are unbeatable. The food was terrific. We had the cucumber salad, a veggie roll, and the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. My issue with Moonraker, and the reason for only giving them two stars, was the extremely overpriced drinks. I had a fig and pear cocktail served in a highball glass that included an ice cube almost the same size as the glass. So, for the $27 my drink cost, I paid $13.50 for cocktail ingredients and $13.50 for an ice cube. My friend ordered a double Tito's vodka and water. We were charged $40 for her drink. I looked it up and a 750ml bottle of Tito's Vodka averages $24.99 before taxes in the Washington DC area. How does Moonraker justify charging $40 for $2.96 worth of vodka? Her drink was by far the most expensive thing on our bill and possibly the single most expensive food or drink item we ordered on our trip. I do not recommend having anything to drink other than a Coke, but that might cost you a lot more than you're expecting so ask before you order. read more
