This doesn't look like wedding soup to me! It looks like and tastes like the bottom of the pot!

in the last six months I've pretty much wasted my money here. I've been charged for the wrong takeout order and didn't realize it till I got home. I didn't go back and say anything because it was my fault for not paying attention. Now about a week ago I ordered a large pizza/ Italian salad. Pizza was so burnt it was black on the bottom! The salad dressing used to come on the soufflé cups comes in the so the salad was shrunk considerably, to fit 2 soufflé cups in it. so I paid over $30 for a black bottom pizza and a little bit of lettuce with 4 pieces of lunch meat! Now I'm sick, it's the closest restaurant to me, known for their wedding soup. I open this thing up and almost vomited! I'm going to post a picture of it after I'm done writing this. now Im a retired bartender/waitress, I don't normally do things like this I'd go straight to the owner! But the own dismissed me like a piece of shit when I came to him about his bartender charging me different prices than her friends! I WATCH EVERYTHING WHEN MY MONEYS ON THE BAR! If you still want to go here, I recommend going when longtime bartenders/ waitresses are there! New ones think they run the place! Check your food order before you walk out the door! And look at you bill very closely.

Nice local bar with Italian roots. The atmosphere is causal and like any local bar that's been around for over 25 years, but their menu surprises you with more than bar food. While they do have wings, pizza, and burgers, they also have pasta and sea food and other higher quality meal options. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich with fries and my husband got the daily special of tortellini alfredo. I was so surprised to see the side of my sandwich. It was a huge chicken cutlet about the size of an 7in sub. It was breaded with melted parmesan on top and marinara sauce under the chicken. I would have really liked more sauce on my sandwich. Because it was so large, it got sort of dry and heavy the more I ate. The chicken was tender but had little seasoning to the breading to give it a bolder flavor. The fries that came on the side were nice and crispy, with salt seasoning. Overall a good experience with a wonderful staff. The food is reasonably priced based on how much you get. I'd probably just get a pasta dish next time because my husband's tortellini alfredo was delicious.

I love this place! They have very filling salads with lots of toppings. The zucchini boats can feed a whole family for such a cheap price. The wedding soup is flavorful and they are generous on the oyster crackers. Although I would love regular crackers for it. They are very family friendly and has lots of seating place. It is a bit dark but it is very homey. They work at their pace but still good service.

Remaining portion of my hot sausage calzone. It was massive.

This place had been around for a good while and is a staple of Brookline Boulevard. You really can't go wrong with anything. I tried something new, the hot sausage calzone. Flavor was great, tons of cheese. I wish it was chunks of sausage and not crumbled but still delicious. My husband at the chicken chu chu sandwich which comes with cheese, mushrooms, onions, and banana peppers. The chicken was grilled to perfection, so juicy!

Hello fellow Yelpers! This place is a little gem! We were initially going to a restaurant down the street but they were closed and we are glad they were because we ended up stumbling into this place! There were three of us plus a 2.5 month old infant. When we entered the front door, not going to lie we thought it was the wrong place to be. You immediately enter into a bar and you see some gambling machines as well. So you can imagine we were going to leave since it just didn't seem child appropriate, however the nicest server Rachel asked us if we needed anything and let us know there was actually a back dining area! Turns out the place is much larger on the inside than it looks, there's even a side entrance straight to the dining area, heck they even host parties/banquets. It's a charming little dive bar type looking place and even has a billiards table. The owner was there with his friends in the back enjoying his time with his friends, it was fun hearing them enjoy themselves speaking Italian! That leads us to the food, most everything is hand made and it shows! The provolone cheese wheel is deliciously hand battered and made with fresh cheese. The chicken chu chu is hand pounded chicken marinated with hand made focaccia bread (it's huge! Plus their own signature, not sure if they made up the name). The chicken parmigiana hand breaded with hand made breading that isn't obnoxiously thick and the spaghetti was cooked Al dente to perfection! Pretty much all of the food was delicious which is why we call this a hidden gem! The prices are very reasonable and Rachel was such a wonderful and attentive server. She was the only one yet kept us topped off and checked in on us at a regular clip. The only things we thought could improve are a little less salt in the wedding soup and there's this odd "pass through" surcharge that is an extra 4% on top of the bill that comes from using your credit card, I guess because of the clover system they use? Just FYI for everyone. It's a bit slower here, but this is the type of establishment where they know you're name and the locals come to, so it's got such a unique charm to it. We highly recommend giving moonlite a try! They even have parking in the back so you don't have to pay for the Brookline street parking. Thank you so much for reading, stay safe and well out there. Thanks for being...YOU! :)

I'm tempted to gate keep on the Moonlite. Their bar food is unreal good at a reasonable price. Everyone who works there is so friendly and some days I think of moving to Brookeline just to be closer to it. Definitely your favorite neighborhood bar, with the best food!

So live in the area but do not tend to eat at the restaurants in the Blvd till today. We walked inn the side door to avoid the bar area and got seated right away ( few other tables remained open but they had a big one blocked for a private party) The staff was friendly and courteous... made sure our table was cleaned before we sat ( little crumbs in table but they went right into action) .. the restaurant felt clean - and yes you can feel if a place is or is not - and looked well kept. They did have specials in a board when we walked in ... we ordered ( see pic for food) first up... wings and zucchini- I don't eat winGs but the others wIth me liked and said they would get again .. the zucchini is this cut and really good (just needed cheese which is in the table). We ordered - chicken Marsala, chicken parm and the fish sandwich special. Fish came with fries and slaw. Chicken dinners you could add pasta or veggies - all enjoyed their meals - so much chicken for two meals! They gave us bread and butter too.... the good bread! Pleasantly surprised and will def need too go back again and get one of those fish sandwich!

Starving, either there is a long wait & slow service or the restaurant on the strip is closed. Stopped at the Moonlight Food Truck for shrimp egg rolls. At $3 each they were satisfying & delicious.

I used to live in Brookline and we came here often. But that was a lifetime ago and we stopped in today on a whim - I totally forgot how gooooood this place is. We had the chicken Chu Chu pizza and the chicken parm sandwich. They were both great but I probably wouldn't get the chicken parm again, purely because the Chu Chu is soooo good. Drafts are super cold, they have a slushy machine and the service is quick. There are daily drink specials (Wednesday is $5 Guinness draft). The feel of the place is kinda dive bar, kinda Italian mom and pop restaurant. You would walk past it if you didn't know it was there and if you peaked in, you may decide to try something trendier. Don't do that, give it (and a Chu Chu sandwich) a try!

I just moved to the area, and I have heard GREAT things about Moonlite Cafe, so I had to check it out! We came to Moonlite to watch the Steeler game, which was super great on the nice flat screens that they have in the bar area. Like other reviews, this bar was SUPER CLEAN! I mean sparkling clean, which really never happens. Also, like other reviews, yes - from the outside this place looks like a dive bar. However, once you walk in the door you are greeted by super friendly employees, and a very friendly vibe. Moonlite is definitely a place that you go to, receive great service, and then are remembered the next time you come in. For this trip, we just ordered some appetizers/drank while watching the game. The bartender was new, and still did an awesome job. Drinks were reasonably priced, and she did a great job keeping up even though the bar area was slammed for the game. Appetizers were.. awesome! cheese wheel, yum - marinara sauce that they serve was wonderful as well. Fried zucchini was the biggest portion I've ever seen. I will definitely be back here! Can't wait to check out more of their food.

Bryan and Justin will meet you at the door and will introduce you to their workshop. There is a spread of antipasto to snack on which was curated very well. Each person gets to make 4 (four!!) dozen raviolis each. The class is extremely informative and fun. She recognized her absence and offered us a surprise tiramisu (complimentary) to make up for the lack of attentiveness to our table. Seating: A large bar stretches the restaurant accompanied by wooden chairs, tables and a few booths tucked against the parallel wall. The seating is not tight, meaning you have space between yourself and other parties but the wooden chairs/tables were uncomfortable. Their menu is excellent... it's filled with so many appetizing options! We started with their stuffed peppers - OMG, EXCELLENT!! Any time I'm in the Pittsburgh area I need to try a few things, this being one of them. These were probably some of the best I've ever had! The sauce was finely ground and really flavorful. The peppers were perfectly cooked to keep their beauty and texture and they were spicy too! We also requested a large order of their table bread and asked for a side of EVOO with it. I sprinkled grated pecorino and freshly ground red chili flakes into the EVOO to make an incredible dipping sauce which worked perfectly with that bread! For my entrée I enjoyed their amazing Spinach Tagliatelle which came perfectly presented and tasted amazing! The spinach was perfectly cooked to the proper texture and the sauce was so good I didn't mind it having eggplant in it (which I hate). Save room for dessert, their panna cotta was great! It was thin but well flavored with the gouda, tad spiciness (or rather kick) from the salami, and creaminess of the roasted squash. I don't normally like white pizza nor squash on my pizza(?), but this tasted rather good and unique! The scallop mezzaluna was as if the scallop was a ravioli filling. The kind of drink you savor while watching the sun set on the horizon. Crème Brûlée Espresso Martini - As my heart rate settled from the first drink I needed something to kick it back up. One sip and I could've read the dictionary cover to cover without blinking. Close your eyes and the aroma takes you straight to that first cup of coffee fresh out of the pot. Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake Martini - Beautiful presentation but flatter in flavor than the previous two. However for a final cocktail that was exactly the point -- the perfect calm down after a rich and spicy meal. - Food: 4.25 / 5 Bread, Oil & Dip: A great palate cleanser that quickly taught me the chef loves his spices. The dip was described as "Italian Hummus" and if this is the standard I completely understand the hype. Appetizer - Ceviche Peruviano: Think of that forgotten appetizer thrown together last minute for a dinner party, a hodgepodge of raw fish and vegetables. But every bite delivers an explosion of complementary flavors, and that sneaky hint of spice hiding in the raw fish bites will wake you up immediately. Pre-pasta - Tuscan Kale Salad: Needed something to cleanse my palate after the spicy ceviche and frankly I am tired of Caesar salad. Not a kale fan normally because it tastes like dirt, but the lemon vinaigrette adds just enough flavor to make that dirt genuinely enjoyable. Pasta - Cacio E Pepe: Easily the highlight. My buddy describes it perfectly as fancy fettuccine. I have never liked fettuccine until now. My server, who prepared it himself, recommended adding house chili oil for a slight kick. Entrée - Veal Chop, Lobster Tail & Vegetables (Chef's preference): After riding Cloud 9 all evening I felt like Icarus flying too close to the sun. One word: bland. The veal was overcooked with all the flavor locked into the fat, and the lobster tail tasted like a convenience store impulse buy. The best use of those bones would be soup stock. I had no desire to finish it. Dessert - Tuxedo Crème Brûlée: As much as I wanted the house raspberry tiramisu I left the choice to my server after some back and forth. He recommended this for its balance of sweetness and berry bitterness and he was right. The perfect final note to tap out on. Service: 10 / 5 Even now, I still don't think I tipped my server enough. Dining alone, he made the evening feel like I had a companion at the table. Great conversation, personalized attention, and a level of service that few will ever experience. It was a pleasure to talk to someone who knows and appreciates food as much as I do. If you want an exceptional dining experience, request AJ as your server. I promise you won't be disappointed. Vibe: 5 / 5 Presentation, presentation, presentation. That is the theme every dish and the environment itself conveys the moment you walk through the doors at Alla Famiglia. This is a place for those who want to feel bourgeois for the night. Overall 4.25 / 5: My goal in life is to become a regular somewhere. There is something special about finding a place you love so much that every visit still feels like a new experience. Alla Famiglia is exactly that type of place. During my visit I was introduced to new items and dishes not listed on the menu, which only adds to that sense of discovery. It may be a while before I return since this place isn't cheap and my restaurant bucket list is long, but I will be back. Hopefully AJ is still there when I do, because that is exactly the kind of server you want in your corner as a regular. Recommend? Absolutely
