I've come here twice before and thought the food was pretty good. This time, we called ahead and asked for the wait. 10-15 min. No reservations for a party of 2. That's fine. Of course when we got there, the place was packed and we were 5th or 6th in line. We waited some 40 minutes before another table was free. I was working overnight that night so there was a limit as to how long I was going to wait. I have a problem with places that straight up lie to you about how long their wait is just to give the impression that their place is busy to people driving by. There is a difference between being inaccurate and lying -- inaccurate is telling me 10 minutes, but taking 30 minutes because tables were hanging around longer than expected, vs lying which is telling me 10 minutes but knowing that 5 parties were ahead of me and that your place is packed for the night. Please keep in mind my review is based off going with a large group, I've heard the service is different with a smaller group. Now the food at this place was pretty good, I would say it was above average when it comes to most Korean BBQ Meats. I also love their little side such as their steamed egg and their kimchi noodles. But sadly this is where the pros of the restaurant end. Service at this place was absolutely atrocious. It took forever for the servers to come and take our orders. And the portion sizes were ridiculously small. We were a group of 13 people get they were serving plates for like two people. In fact, about an hour into our meal they intentionally began avoiding the back room where we were so we wouldn't be able to put in more orders. There is about two to three times where we had to go and track somebody down because they weren't coming back. It took us nearly 30 minutes to finally get everybody a shot glass and a beer mug for alcohol which is completely ridiculous considering at the beginning we told them we were all going to be drinking. Overall can't recommend going here with a large group. read more

Went here this evening with a good friend and was immediately met with a welcome from the staff at moon BBQ, it only took about 4 minutes for them to seat us. We were sat down and I saw the chopped beef sirloin, so I gave that a try and it was delicious, tender and perfectly seasoned. My homie Oliver ordered the pork belly and that was pretty good as well; they were very prompt on offering us refreshments and beer. I checked in on Yelp and received a free beer for checking in so that made the night even better. If you come you should also try the boiled egg which compliments the meats you order very well. What I like about this particular Korean BBQ place is that they cook the meat as well as cut it for you. I'm definitely going to be coming here for a follow up visit, great job moon BBQ!!! read more

This is an all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant. Hard to compare this place to a non-AYCE. But the meet quality is really close. We tried 4 types of beef while there. The ambience is very homely. Small tables. Simple chairs, poorly lit with portable fans everywhere facilitating ventilation. I believe it's $23 per person, which is slightly higher than your average 18-20 dollar pp AYCE places. But I think the meat quality justifies it. The service is attentive. Everyone's friendly, busy and with a smile. Being AYCE, you'll need to do most your own cooking. Compared to another local South Bay AYCE (gen, cough cough), this place blows it out of the water. With superior meat. Much superior service (gen hires some amateur high schoolers that are more interested in socializing with each other over the phone than serving their customers). This place is slightly more expensive but totally worthwhile. Will be back (when I crave for binge eating)... read more

In the plethora of all you can eat korean bbq, this place stands out to me the most. Its not cheap like all the typical 11.99 places but you're getting what you pay for. The meat quality is superb. They provide you with a meat dipping sauce that is one of the reasons why I love coming here. Something about that brown sauce really just makes me happy. There is a wide selection of meat, and the quality remains consistent no matter what you order. The staff is alert and quick, adequately catering to your every need. My only complaint is that the place is not too big so large parties aren't recommended, and parking is very limited. Overall, this is my favorite korean bbq place to come to in the midst of all the korean bbq joint places that have opened up in Gardena/Torrance area. read more

AYCE korean for $19.99? Yes please! They also have a $25 choice with extra options. But I like that this restaurant included the short ribs into the cheaper choice (although you're only allowed 1 per person). The service here was almost amazing! They cooked everything for us! But they didn't always bring out exactly what we asked for.. But it may be due to the loud music where I couldn't even hear myself talk. For the important shizzz: FOOD. My favorite was definitely the fresh pork belly! So yummy. The beef brisket was good, I like eating it with their delicious sauces. The marinated short rib & beef belly were only ok in my opinion. And they didn't have enough sides that I normally enjoy. They did have a spicy noodle soup that I've never had before, just ok once again. But I would definitely come back! Came here to see the hype and maybe find myself a good kbbq place near me instead of traveling constantly to K-town to hit up my regular Korean BBQ spots. This fell completely below my expectation... I was so devastatingly disappointed in this place! It was expensive, had very few meat options and worse off they further limit their quote on quote best meats to 1 or 2 per person or per couple/group.Well fortunately for them I say they can keep their "best" meat since those were also very bland! They don't even serve bulgogi!!!!! If you think this place is 4 star worthy, you may have not ventured out of Gardena area, since I used to think that the kbbq places around here were bomb until I finally spread my wings years ago (more like got a car lol) and ventured to k-town! Although you have to travel a bit further, you can score cheaper kbbq places and or experience a higher variety of meats (they don't limit you like they do here!)! OR JUST GO TO GEN! It's a few minutes further from here and for practically the same price! Trust me, my friends and I love love love kbbq! I swear there are some points where we may hit up a kbbq place 3x per month or more ._. When the kbbq craving hits it hits hard! People were very nice, checked on us multiple times, asked if we wanted our bill multiples times. Food however was very mediocre. The only meat that was good was the marinated short ribs and we learned quickly that although it was all you can eat, you can only order one short rib per person. Please listen to this review! I didn't listen to the previews ones. I got there around 5:30 PM on a Friday there was no one waiting in line so I sat down they brought out the sides and the salad was pretty gross I'm not sure if they're saving money but it was just cabbage and the sides were dry. At first the service was good very attentive and then got really busy. As we were eating some people sat behind us and they had trouble with the grill so an employee comes and tries to switch the grill puts the grill with food on the floor proceeds to fix the issue and then puts the grill that was on the floor back on the table! There was food on the grill and he put the grill on the floor where the parking lot was which they turned into an outdoor dining. I couldn't believe it and his boss was watching him and didn't do anything about it. I will never be coming here again. The food quality wasn't great and they charge pricy!!!!! This was my first Korean BBQ experience- we took our mom, grandma, aunt out for Mother's day! We did the evening AYCE for about $20pp. I was surprised to see that all the menu options were not available on the $20pp option- you had to pay $5 more for the prime menu items which I thought that was a bit deceiving. We were looking forward to try some of the seafood items but those were on the prime menu which I wasn't sure it was worth doing since the regular menu had plenty of items to choose from already. One of my main complaints about this place was that the tables were very close together and the ventilation was very poor considering each table is cooking their own meat which makes it very stuffy. At one point all the smoke from our meat cooking was blowing directly on my face and I felt like I couldn't breathe. We took my 4 month old baby along with us, so I was really worried that she wasn't able to breath with all that smoke. When we got home, our hair and clothes all smelt of smoke too. I'm not sure if this is how all Korean BBQ places are, but if that's the case then I'm not a fan. Also noticed a lot of the meat had some fat on it, which didn't look so appetizing to me. By the end of it I got tired of eating so much meat- would have been nice to have some better veggies on the side instead of just kimchi. Went to this small Korean BBQ place yesterday in Gardena. At first you may be hesitant to dine in, I was comparing it to Gen. But this first time experience was very impressive! For a party of 5, the smaller tables may be a bit of a challenge, but we were able to manage with quick service. Their cooking grill is so much better than Gen's. Such a cute spot for KBBQ! My friends and I came in an hour before closing because we came from an event, and they were so kind about serving us. They rushed to ensure we had food and meat before they closed their kitchen which was so sweet of them. Our server was ana amazing woman and she took care of me and my friends, even though we felt so bad for coming in late. The portions of meat were good and their sides were good as well. One of my favorite Korean BBQ places in the South Bay Area. The service is always good and the staff is very friendly. They are right on top of getting you your next plate before you are even close to finishing what you have in front of you. The quality of the meat is pretty good. They have two options, a $20 all you can eat that has most of the standard items you would expect and then a 25$ option with some more exotic cuts of meat. I usually stick with the 20$ option and always leave satisfied. They do have two items on the menu that you can only order once which are really good. We usually order those first because once we tried ordering them in the middle of our meal and it took a while to come out and there was some confusion that we already ordered it and they almost didn't bring it out to us. This is definitely a small neighborhood restaurant. Other reviewers are right about the parking... there is a very small lot, so most of our party had to find street parking. What impressed me the most was the interest level of the owner. She was VERY attentive and funny. Very good with the kids and even made fun of my husband (handing him the check since it was clear that we were dining with my parents and he needed to be a good son-in-law). Kids 3-5 eat for $13.99 (AYCE), and the adults have a choice of two menus - one for around $22 and one for $26. You're allowed to order two dishes at a time. They change the grill each time you order more food. Our favorite was the beef brisket, but we also got the spicy chicken, the beef tongue, and the marinated rib eye. Everything was fresh, and they bring refills on the side dishes, but only if you ask. The only thing that would make this place better is if they had slightly bigger tables (we squeezed 7 people on tiny stools around one grill, so it was a little cramped), and a larger selection of vegetable side dishes. read more

Your usual, familiar, no-frills AYCE type of kbbq place. They have the typical selection of meats: brisket, beef, variety of pork bellies, pork skin, and chicken, as well as soups and side dishes. Their banchan is fresh and the ladies working here always come around and offer to refill them if needed. Btw, I love their kimchi! Reminds me of the kimchi served at BCD Tofu. The service here is what I believe is the best quality about this restaurant. The servers/ladies who worked when we went were so happy, hospitable, and caring. I've never had my grill changed so much in my entire life-- I think they changed it around 5-6 times, and I didn't even have to ask! While changing our grills, they asked if we wanted to order more meat and if we wanted any more side dishes. Five-star service! I have never seen such an awful BBQ place like this before. The sidedishes were awful, rice werent cooked well - even hard to chew that rice. Soy bean stew was awful. At least meat was good, we just keep eating meat not the other sides. But when the server guy brought the "soybean stew", i just cant eat anymore. I complained about stew, but the server guy told me " The stew seems OKEY to me". WDF? Should i just close my eyes and eat that awful stew cause the server guy seemed OKEY? I was out of my patience. Great service and everything is tasty! The 19.99 option has tons that you might not even try everything, sirloin here is so good. Could eat that for days! Sauces. Are different but very good. The meat is tasty it doesn't taste or look like its been sitting around all day, and best of all there are a lot of different meats to choose from.
