We also ventured out with some octopus, squid and shrimp- no complaints from those who tried. Pork belly wasn't my favorite although the pork jowls (which I'd never had before) were actually delicious. Everyone was a big fan of the noodle bowls- I'm not a big noodle guy so I stuck to meats. Service was attentive, friendly and quick to bring out your food. The robot cat servers are a fun and neat addition, just make sure you grab the food labeled for your table. I knock one star for 2 minor reasons- 1) I think some instruction on the robot server should happen, one table accidentally grabbed our food unknowingly. 2) the stainless steel water cups they brought us gave off a filmy or oily layer when filled with water- not sure what that was, maybe some leftover detergent. All in all, I'd consider coming back, the food was great and I really don't mind a soft drink.

Service was the normal Asian buffet service, not friendly, just efficient at filling drinks and clearing the plates. The prices here in SoCal seem a little higher than Nor Cal, but I think you do get a better buffet here.

I would gladly pay the lunch price just for the chicken. They also serve a very good pot roast, meaty pork ribs, and on Fridays they have a surprisingly good rib roast. Those are just a few of the highlights because there are plenty of other dishes to choose from. As for the staff, most of the employees appear to be young and may be working their first job. The cooks aren't trying to be gourmet chefs, they focus on preparing the buffet items well, and overall, they do a good job keeping the food coming despite how busy the restaurant gets. That experience, you ask? Making monjayaki! Monjayaki, as I was Googling it, as described as, and I wholeheartedly agree, the "wet, sloppy, soupy" cousin to Okonomiyaki, hilariously enough. I've seen monjayaki mentioned in a lot of manga and anime like March Comes in Like a Lion, DANDADAN, Otaku Elf, and even Persona 5. What makes Happa even more unique though, and because the okonomiyaki restaurants don't do this, is that they let you cook the monja ingredients yourself. They bring out the griddle hot plate, you can scan the QR code, and then follow the instructions to cook! A lot of confusion, not the most visually appealing pictures, but it was a fun process and for all my food adventures in SoCal, this was a first for us! Also thank you to the staff that eventually stepped in to let us know we don't need to mix anymore and to turn off the grill to let us know it was ready. You're a real one. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Broiled Tara Miso: -Broiled miso marinated black cod. -Moist and fluffy piece of fish. Decent portion for a snack to eat while drinking. Comes with a lemon slice. Nice sweet savory miso flavor. 2) Mabo Monja: -This comes with the cabbage and monjya base as well as the toppings and ingredients needed for the mabo flavor (mabo seasoned ground meat, tofu, green onions, etc.). -There's 2 small spatulas you use to cook and eat with, but be careful, it's really, really hot! -I'm not sure what making the circle dam is and pouring in the liquid was for as I'm not a cook versus just pouring everything in at once, but it looked like what it was supposed to and the staff didn't cut in immediately (positive). -Savory, slightly sour due to the mabo taste, not numbing, but great umami taste. Not too salty either so we didn't feel like we needed any rice, slightly gooey, runny texture (avoid this if it's not your thing) with the crips edges. My brother enjoyed this more than regular okonomiyaki as it's more protein and savory taste and less cabbage. Worth trying at least once. -Though, this was barely enough for 2 adults and we were not even super hungry, so keep this in mind if you come here starving or with a large party (maybe not the best idea to go to an izakaya or drinking focused restaurant if that's the case). Altogether, with tax and tip, this was around $60, which is pretty steep considering the amount of food we got, but it is what it is and it's more of the experience than anything. Parking is easy, you can park inside the hotel parking structure. Just wait for the gates to open. The restaurant has outdoor patio dining, a regular dining area, and a nicer area if you plan to drink. We didn't plan to drink so we dined in the regular area. Reminds us of a bit older, aged take out restaurant, so nothing fancy, super low key. Hopefully, one day we can go dine in the nicer area.

We also got a free side of deep-fried mantou, which was a nice bonus. The service here is excellent. My friend is vegetarian, and our waiter was incredibly helpful and patient in trying to figure out what he could actually eat on the menu. He was even honest enough to warn us that the oil used for the fried mantou might not be strictly vegetarian. That being said, I honestly don't recommend coming here if you are a vegetarian. The options are extremely limited--my friend pretty much only had the choice between garlic noodles or string beans. Overall, it's a solid spot with friendly staff and really good food if you eat meat, and I'll definitely be coming back for the pork chop or the duck. But if you or someone in your group has a strict vegetarian diet, you'll probably want to look somewhere else.

I feel really sad writing this review, but I think it needs to be done. Like all businesses when it's new and not that popular yet, they still work hard for you to be a repeat customer. So we kept coming back because the service was good, reasonable pricing and we were treated with courtesy. After recommending a lot of my friends and bringing customers here every month, these past months has been the worst and sadly it is our last visit. The good: The meat they have is really not bad for an AYCE. That's one of the reasons we kept coming back here. THE "IT DEPENDS" factor: On a good night the servers are very attentive. On a bad night you could keep repeating three times that you need water and it still doesn't come. Or you order a type of meat and 15mins. later it's still not there. Or they change your grills almost all the time and on a bad night you only get changed once or twice. It really depends on their mood. This is sad because back then this was never even a factor. It was pretty consistent back then... not anymore. The bad: This might be too long, but I have to share. #1: One of the servers spilled the hot soup on one of my friends. He got scalded a bit on his shoulder. The lady felt really sorry so he let it go. That same night as we received our payments to sign we noticed $1.00 each was added to our bill. We asked what it was for they said it's because we used three different cards and they only allowed 2. We said for all the times we came here this has never happened. Annoyed we still signed it, but told them it's not right. I mean at least comp that charge for scalding our friend! #2: STEEL WOOL ON OUR FOOD! Our grill got changed for the first time after an hour, and as we turned one of the meats that were dropped on it by the manager, there was a line on the pork belly. We thought it was hair, but after close inspection, it was the steel wool they used to clean the grills. If that was accidentally digested by any of us, we could be in the hospital by now. Our friend gave it to the guy server wearing glasses. He did say sorry and walked away. #3: This same night after the steel wool we used two cards to pay and guess what? They wanted to charge us $1.00 each again? We said we thought we could use two? The lady who had a hard time explaining said it was the owner. We were really pissed off at that point. First of all in case you didn't know, IT IS ILLEGAL TO CHARGE A SURCHARGE FEE IN CALIFORNIA FOR USING CREDIT CARDS! For a bill worth $200+ you need to allow your customers to split bills. Either that or put up a sign that you only allow one credit card. This was just wrong in so many ways. It's not like we were new customers either. #4: Then we asked for hot tea. Then they said "sorry no more hot tea." NO MORE HOT TEA??????? SERIOOOUUUSSSLLLY?????? #5: $2.79 for a CAN OF SODA! SERIOUSLY??? It's not free refills or anything. We noticed this price kept going higher and higher the more we went, but $2.79 that is too much. #6: We went at the time it wasn't so busy. Not a lot of people and place is pretty empty, but we waited for our rice. We ordered water and waited. We ordered meat and waited. One of our friends had to keep going directly to them only to find them chatting by the cashier. One of them did apologize and was honest to say they forgot, but come on? our grill was burning with no meat in it at all. Like I said, we first came here the service and food was good. We appreciated it for it's value. Now, this is all gone. WE DID TRY to understand and give it a chance. But I think we don't deserve that kind of service. We tip and we are very courteous towards them and even use bits of Korean words like kamsahmnida and all that. We are there at least once a month. do not eat at this place. they will assault you for calling out the wrong prices!! seriously. on the 23rd of this month i was going to this place to meet up with my friend so we can have dinner, well it started when a couple walked in with two children and they were going over the prices, as they were ordering the couple asked if they can get certain items that were priced as they thought on the menu, just for the lady to tell them that the prices were wrong and that it's not the correct price, the couple asked why the prices weren't changed and that its completely different than what she was charging them completely. the couple then decided to take a picture of the wrong price and told them they would report the company for false pricing, this fucking lady that works there starts yelling at the couple to not take pictures of the pricing and not to report... as this couple leaves... the restaurant worker goes outside and attacks the couple with the babieeeesss in the male customers hand... the worker was swinging on the child and was hitting the man, whyyyyy????? that is unprofessional and an assult asgainst the infant, well the other women with the man got pissed off and went inside and pushed some things off the table out of anger because the restueant person was outside beating up her family, as she did this another worker attacked the women inside the store and had her pined to the wall and than had other workers surround her. this worker ripped and phyically assutled the womenn inside... the police were called and thank god the family was okay, but no one at the restaurant was arrested for assault... i gave my statement on what i saw and they did nothingggg... they need to press charges on this place... all because they didn't want to change their prices and didn't want to be exposed for thief out of customers pockets... if anyone has a video of this incident besides the restaurant... Truly a wrong place to go! My family and I went t out to eat korean barbeque to celebrate my dad's birthday. The moment we arrived we were suprise by the greetings of the gentleman saying that " wait stay outside no table yet" , no good evening or may i help you. As i browse the place they were not busy but its seems like they are so stressed. So waited 10 minutes outside and glad we were seated. When they serve as the food they just place on our table with no words like" here's your barbeque". they are very careless to the point that the drinks of my sister fell down to our table. So i told them Ok we know something accident happens although we know that they're very careless. As we started to eat since we dont use choptics, we ask for fork and spoon for the soup. OMG utensils was so dirty!! and the drinks they serve to my dad has a lipstick on it. So my sister asked for another drink for my dad. Since we wanted to start with soup guess what we found a "HAIR" on the soup . I felt so bad because my dad was so mad and its his birthday. My boyfriend and I where looking to do something fun on New Year's Eve not too overwhelming because I am pregnant so we found Moon BBQ and figured it would be a fun experience. Well the meat we ordered which was spicy pork bell ( very delicious ) , beef brisket , and another type of beef where all very good except the fact that the women waitress' kept coming over to our table every few seconds . There was 4 other tables with customers all eating and the waitresses seemed to be bored or weren't sure what to do because they were standing around and after we would cook and turn our meat they would come almost running over and turn it right over again (very disturbing and annoying) , this was not the service I expected coming to a Korea BBQ restaurant. Other than being disturbed every few seconds one women asked if we wanted any more meat and I said " we are going to finish this and then decide" she proceeded to walk over to the register and printed are check . I thought she didn't clearly understand what I said but the fact that she brought the check made me feel very rushed and I left very shortly after. It's my favorite korean bbq restaurant for a long period of time until there is a changing owner I guess, the lady with a short hair is kinda rude when deliver customer service. i am not sure if she is a manager or the owner, but she looks like the one who is in charge in this place. However, please be professional even if you are the owner or manager. Every time we got there to eat BBQ, we want to have time ro enjoy and have time with friends and family. While you guys always rushing the customers who are enjoying. You guys really ruin the mood. I really love your seasoning of the meat which is really stands out compared with Bull BBQ and other BBQ, i love yogurt soju and everything. That's why I gave this place many opportunities even I and my family were not treated properly. However, the service has no change. I was so disappointed. Moon is all you can eat and they have a very large variety of meats to choose from. The meat quality is always awesome. The basic menu even includes marinated short ribs and chopped steak! You can even opt for the seafood menu, but it costs a little more. The sides are actually pretty basic. You'll have the rice and radish paper, mashed potato, kimchi, pickled radish, and cilantro. You'll have to ask several times to get more when they are busy. One of my favorite things about Moon is that it's a lively atmosphere. You'll have a good dinner no matter how many people you are with. You can even squeeze a group of 22 in their back room. It was a little tight, but we had a great time! The service is a mix. This KBBQ is actually used to be my favorite place to have BBQ, but their service comes down couple of times when we tried to dine in lately. Since our family all have to be off the work late, we came around 10:00pm since they said they closed at midnight on yelp. But their last call was 11pm ? and the servers will try to rush us out to close early. Seriously ? I would like this place alot since I love their marinated meats, and yogurt soju, But they have to change the way their service, otherwise, even if I want to come back to try their meats, my family would not agree with me. TERRIBLE PARKING SPACE Small cramped restaurant, stools are so low and not very comfy. Waitress kept walking right past us When she finally did acknowledge us she only stayed to listen long enough to hear 1 thing we wanted then walked away. Our grill was on with no meat for more than 10 minutes, it wasn't even that busy! but when it came time to pay she was very fast and friendly lol oooook where were you before? Love this place. I've had several birthdays (mine & other people's) here... they have good quality beef & other meat, & for a great price! Most importantly for this hungry girl, it's all you can eat! Definitely take advantage of soju deals if they have them. Sometimes it's buy one get one, or buy two get one. Everyone is really friendly & you really can't have a bad night here, whether you bring 20 friends or just yourself. (There's lots of parking on the street nearby if the lot is full.) read more

I would give zero star if I could. It is just bad practice of business when they give priority to people to came 30min - 1hr later then me and my husband. They crossed out your name and rewrite it after customers who signed in after us FOR MANY TIMES. I understand that we need to wait to get in for a dinner on the weekend, but we just did not expected to be treated this way and the owner, yes, the lady with short hair, was just rude and yelled us out of the restaurant. read more

You know how like they call some bars "dive bars?" think of this place like a "dive kbbq". The food is good though. I would give it 5 stars but their service needs a little tuning. They give these really small glasses for water and leave a small jug at the table. We were a party of like 8. This review is based on my experience as well as the food. First, this place has the most uncomfortable seating out of any KBBQ place I have ever been to. It is so crammed in there, you almost rub up on the people next to you. Aside from this, the best meat they have which is a steak, they only let you have ONE order of it... I came down to visit my friend who lives over in Torrance, CA who wanted to go eat at one of her favorite kbbq places! I was pleasantly surprised! For an all you can eat buffet KBBQ, theres so many choices you can make! I especially loved the spicy pork belly and the sides dishes that they offered. We LOVE going to Moon BBQ. All you can eat for a great price and good quality meat. It's not the best kbbq meat I've ever had but there are so many cu to choose from. There are plenty of banchan, and as much steamed egg, tofu soup, and kimchee pancake you can eat! Favorites are the ribeye, spicy pork and the head-on shrimp. So good! read more

However, the small size of the location and uncomfortable seating, with a malfunctioning grill vent that directed smoke towards us, detracted from the overall experience. I've always loved the marinated meat here. However, I really hate the service to rush people out early. Moon BBQ has to improve the service. First time trying Moon BBQ with my family! Very exited! Friendly staff and were seated very quickly. The unfortunate part is that the tables are to small to enjoy a meal and to top it off the seats are super uncomfortable. My husband found this little hole in the wall on Yelp. Inside this little tiny place are a handful of tables. The space itself is a bit cramp and small. When we came in, we were greeted by an older gentleman. He was slowly making his way to help this other table. He also tried to clear a table when we saw us. We ended up deciding to sit at a small table on the wall in one of the corners. The table itself needed some cleaning (I actually carry disinfectant wipes in my purse and took one out to wipe down the table because there was red splashes of maybe soup that was on the table and napkin dispenser). The menu is on a large banner at the front of the restaurant, right above the kitchen and there is also another menu on the wall. After looking it over, we ended up ordering: Complementary Banchan- We had 6 different little dishes brought to our table. I did like the variety. Of the 6, I liked the potato the best, but it was a little soggy and oily though. Beef Rib Soup, $20.99 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish and he enjoyed it. I didn't have any at all. This dish also came with a side of rice (you can choose between steam white rice or purple rice, my husband picked the purple rice). There wasn't that much meat in this dish. Clam Noodle Soup, $18.99 prior to tax- Honestly after looking over the menu, nothing really called me to order. So I just picked this dish, but there was definitely a lot of clams in this soup dish. I liked the flavor of the soup, as it was not too salty and had a nice clean taste. There were glass noodles in the soup which was nice to have some starch with my meal. ------------------------------ (Total= $44.18 after tax, prior to tip) Service was very slow, as the man helping with the table service has a limp and you can see has trouble getting around. This did not bother us as we understood the man was not able to move faster (and honestly we were not in a hurry). There is only one woman inside the kitchen, whom I am assuming is the wife of the man. She took our order. When the man brought over our water and banchan, I do no think he was able to get to the corner where we were sitting so he placed those items next to the table next to us and we just slid it over to our table. We were never really checked on if we needed water or any refill on the banchan, but again, I am just going to give the benefit of the doubt that because the man was not able to get over to us, he just wasn't really able to see if we needed anything. Overall, I think my experience was just okay. I do love hole in the wall restaurants and this place definitely delivers. But I am just not convinced with the food. But my husband did like his meal and would come back but I don't think I would (also we are not in this area in general and only really visit Gardena and the South Bay maybe a few times a year).
