Oak Lawn's hidden gem - this cafe is unassumingly pushing boundaries of what culinary cuisine "could" be. While small and quite a loud ambiance, I was promptly seated and served a giant glass of pickle juice in an unconventional container - a blender jar. My order for pepperoni pizza must have been too conventional for the chef, as I was delivered something very different consisting of pizza, a whole lot of beans, French fries and lettuce on white bread. What a treat on the eyes and senses! The service is next level here, where the chef insisted on watching me the entire time while I tried the food. Not sure if this experience was enjoyable or terrifying, but clearly they are doing things different here at the Moo Cafe. Worthy of 1 Michelin star.

Not gonna lie, I've had better service, but I think it has potential. I came on a weekday during lunch and was serviced by a cute girl (she looked a lot like my husband, strangely enough) who seemed preoccupied with eggs. She was clean though, as she picked up everything that she dropped, so the place was clean at least. I ended up getting a bland taco and a yummy cheesecake. I'd visit again, but perhaps when there is more experience behind the counter. read more

This is your standard greasy spoon diner, with anything you can imagine on the menu. One complaint: the waiters can't read and poured ranch all over my tacos when I asked for hot sauce. They were a bit clumsy and disorganized and overcharged ($500 for the meal) but I'd go again. read more

The food was delicious but the worker just kind of gave me what they wanted. I asked for chocolate ice cream but got vanilla. I didn't see them wash their hands at all and no gloves were used. The worker had very messy hair and did not have a hairnet on. I asked for an item on the menu and was told repeatedly that they were out of stock. Overall I would visit again for the experience and taste of the food but not for the service. read more

The server was energetic but I think he secretly had an accident in his pants despite telling me he didn't. I suspect this because he stopped moving to stare directly in my eyes for fourth five seconds while grunting. Despite this mishap, the food was excellent. The server (poopie pants and all) was very attentive and every item I ordered he would rub his tummy and say YUM YUM YUM YOU EAT IT. He also brought a second helping of dessert. 10/10, five stars, will be back. read more

Heard a lot about this place and thought i'd check it out. Honestly wasn't impressed. The cooks had no idea what they were doing! My steak wasn't even cooked and the tacos turned me into a dragon!! SO MUCH SALT! ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF SALT. Everything I ordered I needed to share I didn't know it was family style. I asked for a cup of water and was given salt and hot sauce. I came first for breakfast and then back for lunch and dessert. My first cook and server made a great waffle breakfast with eggs and bacon. Stopped into this little cafe with my wife and daughter. Took what felt like forever for a shake and slice of pizza. The chef was very young and we could tell he was a little inexperienced but cute and friendly. Food tasted like plastic but at least they didn't charge us. I stopped by the cafe one day. The seating is limited and there was one other customer. She was on her phone. The workers were busy prepping food. I grabbed a stool at the counter and asked, "What can I order?" The worker, who didn't seem to be of legal employment age, said, "You can have ice cream." This wasn't a question or a suggestion. It was clear the server was telling me what I could have. The ice cream was delivered quickly and the woman on the phone looked at the young server and said, "I would like ice cream, too." "He got the last one. If you hadn't been so busy on your phone you might have gotten it but you didn't. You can have pizza." I made small talk with the woman and the servers. "How much do I owe you?" I asked. "$10," said one of the servers. "$20," said the other. "$100," replied the first. $2,000," replied the second. An apparent bidding war had started between the servers to see which one could get me to pay the most money. The ice cream wasn't even that great. I offered them an invisible $10 bill and told them they could keep the change. Surprisingly, they accepted my offer and I was on my way back to my office. read more

The Moo Cafe is a place you don't want to skip! It was a little pricey (I had to pay $100 up front). but after that it was all you can eat! On the menu was a full breakfast, lunch and TONS on desserts. Of course at times I had to remind the waiters that the food needed a plate and I was missing silverware. but the workers were speedy and soooo adorable! After a few hours of playing. Last time I was here I was charged "a million dollars" for a sandwich, and then the chef just ran away with a giant ice cream cone in the middle of making my food. Five stars though for ambience, and there's a market nearby so food is fresh, even if it is plastic. And someone did quickly pick up where the runaway chef left off. Just be aware that food can be pricey and they have high chef turnover so food preparation and presentation will vary. read more

We used to come here all the time and we missed it a lot when COVID restrictions forced it to close. We are so glad to be back!!! I will say, it is pricey, as a single slice of cheese cost me $100 last month... and it's definitely "fusion cuisine" as my plate had a lot of random food items served together... A meal cost me $929 and I didn't even get what I ordered. I asked for a veggie skillet with a cup of coffee but got a hot fudge sundae, a milk and a piece of salami. However I did request a side of pickles and got those with no problem. My server was adorable and stopped alot to give me hugs. None of what was offered matched what was on the menu. I think I also saw the chef scratch an itch, pick up my food off the floor, and then serve it to me without washing her hands. My granddaughter is a chef and server. She can make your meal tasty. And she serves French fries, golden brown and delicious. Her prices sre negotiable, just ask her. I asked for a salad and got this. A pretzel waffle salad? never had this before but ate it and it was okay. i watched the kitchen crew work and the food was flying all over the place. The chairs are wobbly and sticky. The chefs screamed at me after I told them my order was wrong. They keep taking my food away as soon as it's served to me, and then they giggle about it. Very unsanitary conditions, I saw no gloves or hand washing between meats and vegetables. One of the servers even ran off with the cash register. read more
