Very bad experience, took truck in for service, check engine light being on, worked on front axle, paid $1015 Sept 29th. Truck driven only 300 miles, went to use 4 WD drive with first snow fall, it didnt work, check engine light back on again. Called to get truck serviced, now they want another $560 to fix 4WD and $2300 to fix engine problem now, also charged $200 for diagnostic testing. Picked up truck after paying for diagnostics, which should not have been charged with only 300 miles since the last repair. Very unsatisfied with Montrose Ford in Fairlawn, all they want is your money & they don't seem to have the first clue on repairs, they just seem to guess. This is the shadiest dealership around. When I was in college I bought a Fusion that had a leaking issue that they couldn't figure out. They had the car 13 times, charged me for new parts (even under warranty), damaged the rims and blamed it on me and only fixed the rims when I threatened to sue. They never did fix the issue and I ended up selling the car elsewhere. I recently bought a CPO Lariat F150 at Montrose Ford and was promised a second key would be cut for me during my first oil change. They've jerked me around for 3+ weeks and I've had to make 6 phone calls to finally get someone to help me. They now tell me there isn't a slip in the sales contract saying they owe me a key (even though the salesman showed it to me when I bought the truck). That salesman no longer works there so they tell me I'm just out of luck. They also charged me for the oil change, even though the first one is supposed to be free under their "Montrose Promise". My brakes make a squealing noise they didn't make before the tire rotation but they won't address that either without charging me. All of this after it took them until 2:00 PM to get my oil changed and tires rotated from an 8:00 AM appointment. My family has bought 5 cars from this dealership and will never do any business with them ever again. The service department is horrible and management doesn't do a thing about it. This is long, but we have been wronged by Montrose Ford and it's important that people know what to watch out for. We bought a 2010 F-150 4x4 truck from Montrose Ford in Fairlawn Ohio in March of 2013. It was Ford certified pre-owned with 48,255 miles on it but we purchased an extended warranty along with the 7yr 100,000 mile warranty the truck came with. 2yrs later at 62,539 miles we experienced a clicking and harsh vibration in the rear end when turning tight corners (parking lots and such). We took the truck back to Montrose Ford on 6/30/15 (under warranty). After talking the tech and the Service Advisor (Richard Thurmer) through the issues they seemed confident that they would be able to diagnose and solve the problems. When I arrived to get the truck back they charged me $186.81 (power steering and shifting diagnostic work) they admitted to replicating the rear end problem and told me the terrain tires were causing the issue. I explained that those were the exact tires that were on the truck when they sold it to me. They could not show me how or where the tires were causing the vibration but insisted it was the tires. Fast forward 2yrs and 8,000 miles later (we don't drive the truck daily, it now had 70,356 miles on it) the vibration went from minimal to major on a trip to WV with a trailer full of ATV's behind the truck. We took the truck to Liberty Ford in Brunswick. Liberty Ford was amazing and able to diagnose the problem in hours. After putting it on the lift they rotated one of the rear tires and immediately knew that the limited slip clutch pack was worn and not functioning correctly. They informed us that Ford issued a Technical Service Bulletin one month after we had taken it to Montrose Ford in 2015. Liberty Ford also let us know that the 7yr 100,000 mile Ford warranty had expired 1 month ago. We took the truck back to Montrose Ford to try and work with them since they misdiagnosed the initial problem 2yrs prior. Montrose Ford again argued with me but said they would do what they can to make it right. Full cost of replacing the limited slip clutch pack would be $700-800 they said they would do it at cost which some how came to $550. That offer was an absolute slap in the face. They know they made a mistake 2 yrs ago when the truck was in warranty but I refuse to pay anything over $200 for a problem that should have been handled in warranty when I took it in the first time and they misdiagnosed it. This is probably the worst service I've had dealing with collision centers. A while back I used them with no problems. However this time I go back to get my air conditioner fixed not knowing if it was missed or forgotten from the last repair. I drop my car off at noon and I was told it was going to take 2 hours to fix and scan. Go and rent a car. 4:45 rolls around and have not received a call. So I call them and ask where my car is and they said that they were scanning it now. Mind you I made this appointment 3 weeks ago. They said they would call me back when it's ready "in about 20 mins". Also I only had this rental car for 1 day. 5:45 rolls around and I ask what is going on because they close at 6. No call back whatsoever. They said they couldn't fix my car because they don't have the correct scanning system and that I needed to take it to my dealership. So I rush in my rental car to get there before they close to pick up my car. Not only when I got my car it was not fixed when they said they can fix anything no matter what kind of car, when I got in my car there was a spilled cup of coffee all over my seat. I would not recommend going here at all. read more

Was the claimant in a rear-end collision. The insured has insurance through Geico, so Geico sent me to one of their approved collision centers where an employee of theirs "inspected" my vehicle. I am very dissatisfied with Montrose Collision Center's inspection of my vehicle. They stated "no damage" and refused coverage for a clear dent to my bumper. Geico's inspector even had the nerve to laugh in his voicemail to me informing me of "no damage" and Geico's refusal for coverage. I would not recommend this collision center to anyone and will be obtaining an attorney to dispute Geico's lack of assumption for fault in this incident. I purchased a certified used 2015 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew Cab from this dealership and things changed the moment I signed the deal. Things that were promised to me when I picked up the truck were not done, including no 2 nd key, no owners manual, missing/broken items including NO rear fold down cup holder, NO rear ceiling light, Missing center headrest and missing rubber tailgate bumper just to name a few. The truck was absolutely filthy and was suppose to be detailed upon my arrival due to stains on seats, sticky spills down door panels and cup holders etc.. They said it was detailed although it all looked the same! Nothing had been done as promised. After over a week of no return phone calls or messages from the car salesman, I finally contacted the manager to handle these issues. The missing/broken items were replaced and it was then promised that the truck would be sent to be professionally detailed...I can tell you, that didnt happen. The truck still had sticky stuff and stains when they brought it out. After finally thinking this dealership and service department could be in my past, that was far fetched. Come to find out they sold me a certified truck with NO tailpipe, a completely rusted exhaust system and a muffler with a huge hole coming out the back of it!! Everytime since that day that I've had to take the truck back to them for them to fix their mistake something else happens! By the way they invoiced the tailpipe under an open recall for the door latch/lock problem and I got my truck back with a couple of dents and my back drivers side window no longer working, I then figured out my back passenger door wasnt even locking after they had performed that recall..another trip back.I think now I've had it back and forth more than I can count on both hands (my time and my gas). You should see what my door handles look like after this time!! oh, and my interior door panels were missing some of the bolts that hold them on! The dealership doesnt care, you do Not have a friend in Montrose Ford! When I picked up my truck this past Saturday which by the way was left completely unlocked in their parking lot over night with my personal belongings in it..I asked the cashier to make sure the manager called me and they never did. Would suggest that you stay away from this place and go to any other dealership for any sort of service or body shop work. I had to take my brand new Mustang in for some warranty work which the body shop initially refused to do until I got Ford Corporate involved. The rep. at the body shop treated me like an idiot and tried to tell me that my concerns were not an issue, even though Ford had instantly approved the work as soon as I contacted them. Dropped off my mustang and reset the factory accelerometer as I wanted to see exactly how the body shop treated my car. At time of pickup they put 7 miles on my car, even though they had 0 reason to drive the vehicle beyond in and out of the shop. The accelerometer recorded data that showed they absolutely abused my car to the fullest, including burnouts! When I brought up this concern with the Manager of the body shop he told me that they had to take out my car to "check for rattles" even though I did not approve of this to be done by them! He blew off my concern and simply said to talk to service department. Took the car to service as the body shop said that my rear diff was leaking oil and that they set up an appointment for me. Get to service and come to find out that there was 0 communication and that I need to bring my car back in a few days. Bring the car back to service regarding issue with rear diff and for an interior rattle issue (that I approved of the service department to diagnose). Take the shop foreman out to show him the exact issue and explain under what conditions the car has the problem which is during freeway/steady state driving. I explicitly state to NOT abuse my car, and that there is 0 reason for them to drive it hard. Pick up my car after they say that there is 0 issues with my rear diff and they were not able to fix the rattle. Look at the accelerometer data again and it shows the same thing as what the body shop did, hard acceleration, 17miles racked up on a car which in turn they burned 1/4 tank of fuel avg 12MPG! Which is 1/2 of what I get when I drive my car. In a nut shell if you want a place that does not fix your concerns, abuses your car, and treats you like an idiot, this would be the place to go. read more

This experience started out on a negative note right from the beginning. Upon calling the dealership I asked to speak with the sales manager as I was interested in purchasing a vehicle immediately (my previous car was totaled); enter Chris Mills. I asked him three times if he was the sales manager and he was not only rude in tone; but, also refused to answer this question with a simple/direct yes or no; he was very evasive and would only say "I can perform the duties of the sales manager". At a later time I did find out that he is the sales manager so I am at a complete loss as to why he was being so unnecessarily combative. After finally discussing the vehicle I was interested in, he said he would look up the specifics and call me back in 5 minutes...which was actually an hour later. Upon leaving a message on me cell he was still very abrupt, as if I was bothering him, and even ended his message by hanging up without the standard courtesy of saying "good bye" - just rude and unnecessary. At this point he apparently pawned me off to a junior salesman (Jon Krupp), since this was the next person to contact me - and I never heard from Chris Mills again. Now, Jon Krupp certainly seemed to be a nice guy but after the car buying process was over, he absolutely fit the stereotype of the "used car salesman". Before even going to the dealership, Jon told me twice that he was going to take a picture of his card and send it to me so that I would have it - nope, he never did. I asked Jon if the vehicle had a trailer hitch or not and after a considerable time he did get back to me that it didn't have one. I asked him how much for them to install it; he quoted my $475, so I asked him if they would do it for $400 since I was spending a nice chunk of change there. Jon told me he would ask Mr. Personality, Chris Mills. Since Jon put in zero effort and did not get back to me until I was actually driving down there to purchase the vehicle he told me that they couldn't do it - duh! He also lied to me by using an excuse that it was a 2 day job to install the hitch - as per Ford, it is a 5 hour job. Jon dropped the ball and simply would not own up to it. Upon driving the 3+ hours from NY to OH and meeting with Jon, my 2014 Explorer Sport was brought around for me to inspect and test drive. You know what they say about 1st impressions. The car had bug marks all across the front, there was dirt in the center console area, and I specifically asked Jon to remove any dealership advertising that was on the car - nope, this was not done, the SUV still had the Montrose sticker on the rear of it. So, I get in the car to start it, I looked at the mileage and noticed immediately that the car had over 2,000 more miles on it than was advertised online. I told Jon that Mr. Mills better "hook me up" for the extra 2,000 miles that were on this vehicle. Well, apparently after speaking with this gem of a sales manager, Jon told me; and I quote, "It is what it is". I asked, what exactly does that mean? Jon said it has 2,000 more miles on it because they were letting someone else drive it and "the price is the price", there was nothing more they would do for me. Needless to say I informed Jon that this is called false advertising - he shrugged his shoulders and could obviously care less. So after driving over 3 hours to buy a vehicle, spending 36K, and being outright lied to/deceived about the vehicle mileage; it is still not enough for them to offer even some sort of small token to make up for their errors and deceit. The only saving grace of this transaction was from the finance manager, Tricia Peacey. She was very personable, answered all of my questions, and was quite proficient at her job. I even purchased the extended warranty through her because it was $600 cheaper there than at my local NY dealership. So, if you can get by the terrible phone skills, inept managerial abilities, being lied to, being presented a dirty vehicle, dealing with a salesman who half-assed his job, not being offered any concessions whatsoever, and being made to feel like spending your hard earned money for what is likely the second largest monetary purchase in your life is no big deal; i.e., your just a number; well then, this is the right dealership for you. As I stated initially, I was in a hurry to replace my prior vehicle which was just totaled. If it were not for the time constraints I was under, I would never have bought from this dealership as the very first rude and unprofessional phone conversation with Chris Mills would have ended any and all potential business dealings with this Ford dealership. In summation, they absolutely got lucky to have my business and I got the vehicle I wanted - that is the most positive thing I can say about this experience with Montrose Ford of Fairlawn. read more

My husband and I are in the process of trying to buy a used Taurus SHO. We went in a couple of weeks ago and had a very pleasant experience during the test drive and initial discussion. I stated that we needed time to do some research, and we went home. I put together a thoroughly researched email outlining our offer for what is currently fair market value (which is different than "list price" or rather, the price that they want you to accept as the car's value), as well as how we reached it. It was immediately forwarded to the sales manager, who called and stated "what they had in it" without explicitly spelling out how they got to that number. I questioned the fact that I knew that they had received the car into inventory in August, and that they had stated that the owner or higher up had used it - which means that the car has had an unknown number of miles applied to it since they obtained it and is, by extension, a less valuable car than when they received it. I laid out my negotiation points, I came up in price about as much as they came down, the manager stated he couldn't do it. He stated that he could debate with me - but wouldn't - which, as someone who has negotiated for a living, indicates that he was bluffing and that he had zero actual basis for the price he is trying to demand but is trying to seem authoritative. I said ok, thank you, we will move on to the cheaper car with fewer miles (and all leather), and I ended it. Or so I thought. I periodically received emails from both the manager and the salesman asking if they could help me with the car. I stated that no thank you, I would not overpay for this car and assumed they would go away. The the salesman came back and asked if we could meet them in the middle. I thought, what the heck, let's just do it. Stupid me, assuming since I had been approached, that was actually the price they were trying to get. The manager came back and essentially said "No, the old offer stands. Want to go ahead and do that?" I am incensed that I have repeatedly said "No" and they keep harrassing my husband and I... and then try to make it seem like we are presenting them with a new "offer". My husband is crestfallen, but neither of us are willing to do a deal that is so blatantly bad, with people who are unwilling to be transparent and are most definitely depending on their customer being uneducated prey. Bottom line is that they are unable to or unwilling to negotiate if you are good at it and do your homework. They will continue to contact you after you decline the unfair (and unsubstantiated with sales data) deal and harrass you. And most importantly, they will jerk you around. What a bunch of pushy sales people!! When we walked in there were at least 15 sales people sitting around which spoke volumes. Our sale guy was determined to sale us a vehicle. Pricing came back double the amount we would pay else where. We had the A plan, a 4WD silverado with 140,000 miles and was offered $500, a $500 lease competitor incentive, and the $750 Ford incentive. They quoted us for a 2015 Focus with manual shifting, 2800 miles $350 for 75 months and $500 down, and that was after I sent him back 2 times to make the deal sweeter. Upon talking to friends about this experience they said don't ever go to them! Truly disappointed with being able to do research on the internet that car people think they can get away with this type of behavior. Don"t ever be afraid to get up and leave. read more

My salesman was nice, he told us that we qualified for a loan, that we could get the truck for under a specific price, and the payments would be close to what we were asking. He invited us in first thing the following morning to sign paperwork, and the price was $6000 higher than he stated, the monthly payment was almost double what he quoted us, and they were being real jerks to us. On top of that, they hit our credit report 8 times! 8 separate inquiries for credit! It dropped my score by 10 points! Ridiculous! Avoid like the plague. Terrible service, they sales folks will tell you anything to get you on the hook, and they act like they have no reason to serve you. We walked out and bought a vehicle THAT DAY from Vandevere and it was smooth and seamless. These guys suck. read more

As one other reviewer put it - run as fast as you can away from this dealership. The BRAND NEW Edge battery was dead ON PICKUP! Then we didn't even get off the lot and we had to wait in service b/c the blinker was malfunctioning. They were not gracious and offered no apology saying "this can happen." We got our Ford F-150 from this Montrose dealership way back in 2011 & the transaction went well, thus we decided to purchase our next vehicle (the 2020 Ford Explorer ST) from the same dealership but got a very disappointing experience instead. The person that corresponded with us online advised us to visit the dealership and talk to either Chris or Joe so we can discuss the details on a pre-ordered 2020 Ford Explorer ST. We traveled about 35 minutes from our place to get there only to be told by the lady at the sales floor that Chris is not working and Joe, the manager, doesn't deal with selling the cars and she's the only one who can help us. Upon learning of what our intention was, she just gave us a brochure about the Ford Explorer, which I don't care about because we got brochures from the auto show. She didn't even bother to get our information so we can be contacted once the vehicle is available. read more

I only gave this dealership one star because I had to. I would give them no stars if I could. They lied about recalls. They lied about owning the collision center behind the dealership. They didn't pursue fixing the dash that I found the ford service bulletin for. They didn't disclose that the key they gave me wasn't an admin key (which prevents me from resetting max speed limits among other things). They didn't disclose that the center headrest was missing on the front seat. They also failed to mention the truck I was purchasing looked like it was waxed with sandpaper. This was impossible to notice in their poorly lit parking lot at night. When I brought it back to them less then 12 hours later they gave me two options- have some company called "Luster" try to "patch" it up or have their body shop fix it and it and it would be "perfect". Mind you, this was a $30,000, 2019 model truck, not a ten year old beater. Then, they did me a "favor" by paying half the repair bill at the body shop that they said they didn't own. Then, after having it for almost two weeks called me to say it was done. What a shocker it was to find that when I picked it up you could still see an imperfection in the door where they fixed a dent that they agreed to repair and there was still deep scratches on the bed sides that they told me would be painted. Then, back peddled and stated they never agreed to fix ALL the scratches and the truck would never be perfect again. During this process I repeatedly asked for an estimate and after several times of asking was sent a hand written copy on a note pad. I will NEVER purchase from ANY Montrose dealership ever again. I will never recommend anyone to patronize this business in any way. read more

We took our car in for an oil change at Montrose Ford. They claimed we needed the rear brakes and rotors replaced and a coolant flush. Our estimate came to just over $600. We got a second opinion at another Ford dealer, and found out we did not need these services and the car was in "great shape." When Montrose's slogan is "You've got a friend in Montrose." Are you kidding me? We do not recommend anybody trust their automobile at Montrose Ford's service department. What a shame in this economy these guys take advantage of their customers. We wish we never purchased the car here and gave them all the service we have in the past 2 years. read more

I went in for a multi-point inspection where I was told there was a problem with my car. I went back in to get it fixed. After that service, my car started making a lot of noises. I brought it back in and they kept saying they did not cause that and wanted to charge me for this new problem (which they had not found my in the multi-point inspection that I just had completed). Ford told me my break pads needed to be replaced and my rotors needed to be machined (equaling around 250 dollars) - I had a coworker look at my car and he found that both my break pads and my rotors were only slightly worn- the real issue was that my break line was leaking and that fix was nearly a tenth of the price they were going to charge me. I am a young woman in my 20's and feel that they took full advantage of the fact that I did not know much about cars. I definitely will not be going back to this location! read more

My husband had his eye on a used truck for some time. We had a 2010 vehicle with extremely low miles that needed a few cosmetic fixes, nothing that would cost a dealership more than a hundred bucks, detailing, etc. The blue book valuation for a vehicle like mine ranged from 6 to 8 grand depending on condition, and low miles trumps condition any time. When we got there initially, we asked for the person that my husband spoke to on the phone. We were passed on to 'Slick Rick' who said he had worked there in sales for over twenty-something years. We exchanged pleasantries, a couple jokes, and I thought it was going to be a good exchange. I ended up feeling very uncomfortable and ever since I've just become more and more angry about the entire scenario. After the initial bit, we got down to business. We explained our situation, no money down but we did have the vehicle to trade. Rick went out with us to look at my car. Right away he starts being rather rude, more or less acting like my car was a beater. The car needed detailed, had a small, poppable dent on the right rear quarter panel and a crack in the fender. That's it! The car had 70k for a 2010 because I drive like a granny. We go back in the building to negotiate. He tried to offer $500 for my car in trade. I told him frankly, that was insulting. We tried to explain to Rick that we really could not afford a payment above $350. I should state here that the used truck we were purchasing was around 21 grand. He came back with a payment around $470 a month and acted like we were crazy for saying we couldn't afford that amount. I told him it was an insult to offer us so little for our trade and that we still owed about $1500 on the vehicle. He then looks at my husband and said he would try to go back to his manager and see if there was any wiggle room on the payment, or did he have to ask his wife (me) before making any move. I can not express to you how infuriating that is. He tried to somehow insinuate that my husband couldn't make a decision without checking with me, the 'little woman'. More or less incredibly sexist and mysoginistic. I explained that my husband is shy and is kind of uncomfortable in these situations and that even though I'm a female, I'm quite capable of negotiating. He came back with another offer, bringing our payment down to $420 and paying off our trade in. My husband has been looking at this truck forever and he did end up deciding to purchase it. It was/is a horrible deal. We were in a bit of a hurry that day, as we'd already been there 3 hours or so and had to get to our son's basketball game an hour away. He gave us one key and no key fob. Said he would mail the key fob to us. My husband has spoke with him several times since and he claims they must have 'lost' the key fob. Further, he said the best he could do in the situation is offer to have his buddy make another key fob and he would only charge us at 'cost'. Really??? He completely scammed us out of a vehicle and made a hefty commission from the sale of this truck. For the hassle, insults, etc, you would think he would at least throw in a free key fob. When I think about what a horrible deal this was, my blood boils. I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. You should be ashamed of yourself. You do NOT have a friend at Montrose. You have a scam artist and a true chauvinist. I know that we are just one family and that this review probably won't deter anyone from buying there but please, buyer beware. Place is a ripoff. I purchased a brand new Eplore XL from them. I also purchased the ESP, (extended service plan), for an additional $1400 at the time of the purchase. My Explorer has just over 23,000 miles on it, and has been in for repairs nine times, including two recalls. In November, I heard some grinding while driving. It had 18K miles at the time, so I thought no way could it be the brakes already, although so much has gone wrong with this vehicle, anything was possible. As soon as I could get off the road, I did. I looked at the rear wheels, and the rotors and calipers were red hot. I called Montrose Ford, and was told that it would be over a week before they could get me in. I mad the appointment, and bought some new pads to put on the rear to curb any further damage. I dropped it off, and was told the calipers were covered under the warranty. Great!!! About an hour later, I received a call asking where the new pads came from. I explained I installed them since they couldn't get me in for over a week. I was told that in doing so, I negated the warranty, and the repairs would cost over $700. I was in shock. I called another auto repair place that a friend recommended, and was told the same repairs would be just over $400. I went to Montrose Ford, and spoke to the manager, Chris MIlls. He assured me he'd work with the bill as much as possible. When I went to pick up the vehicle, he'd given me a $70 'good customer discount', bringing the bill to $700. Avoid this place at all costs. Read the Google reviews. There are many negative ones. Ford is moving a lot of production overseas, and is building a 2.5 million dollar plant in Mexico to create 3800 jobs south of the border. We stopped by to ask questions about our lease which would be up in about 8 months, we had gotten a couple reminders about it in the mail and we know God uses those to make sure we get the right car at the right time. As always, the service at Montrose Ford was exemplary! We hadn't been expecting to get a new car that Saturday but we did! And we couldn't be happier with the whole experience. A very poor experience dealing with a Sales Manager who made an appalling offer to an educated buyer. As a tenured Sr. Sales Leader myself, I was shocked at the poor attitude and choice of words used by Chris at this location via phone. I had provided his sales representative with an extensive background on our potential deal, further I provided proof of financial buying power only to be approached with a poor choice of words and a demeaning tone of voice. Without talking about the sale price of their vehicle I was offered $4,000.00 for a car that NADA values at $21,000.00. When I explained the NADA value to Chris he asked me why don't I sell it on my then. When I replied with the way you've been treating me, I am not willing to take that road. He then asked me to send some pictures to see if he could find some more value in the car (I already sent his sales rep 10 pictures). The sales rep then sent me a text message (after I asked him to call me) saying he was sorry, but what was I expecting to get for my car. I further explained that they were insulting my intelligence and they should do some more research on their own. As a side note, a wholesaler purchased the referenced proposed trade in for close to NADA value. Bad sales tactics focused on a quick sale with those who are easily fooled. Leadership within the organization should coach Chris to be better. read more

If your looking to get ripped off and have paperwork forged by the employees, then this is the place to do it. This is by far the worst experience in 20 plus years of buying retail. The Finance Mgr was so upset we didn't buy his extended warranty plan, he banged his keyboard like he was hammering nails. Then he added a 1000.00 tire and insurance fee after we left and signed our names on a incorrect Bill of sale.The vehicle was temp tagged and was marked delivered a week before we even picked it up. The salesman promised to fix a missing wiper cover which 6 mos later still has not been repaired. Cant even get a return call, I will never buy another Ford product. I contacted Ford directly and was advised Dealers are separate entities and Ford has no say in how the individual dealers run their Business. Avoid them at all cost. read more

Exceptional experience! The motor for the radiator cooling fan on my car suddenly failed and needed replacement. I am from out of town and only in the area for a couple of days, so finding a dealership that was able to take me in as soon as possible was very important. After having called three different Ford dealership's, the team at Montrose Ford had a same-day availability. They promptly inspected my car, determined the problem and ordered the replacement part. The part arrived the next morning, as promised, and by 10 that following morning, I received a call that my car was ready. The dealership also made arrangements for a rental car, through my auto warranty plan, and made me feel very welcome to be in their service center. When I arrived the following day to pick up the car, the service team remembered me by name! Extremely favorable first experience at this dealership, and I highly recommend this service location to others in this area. Very nice facility and selection. However after Tim Krupp had our new 350 transferred in, the price set with soon to be added features. They delayed our trip by two days which we were planning to take with our new Ford. He had the crew add a heavier tow package and keypad on the driver side door and this kind of work ran longer than expected because some of the tow package was in stock (even though they already told us upon signing that it would be there, no problem. They took our 25K cash down though, they didn't want to wait for delivery on that, as I requested. That was my fault I should have walked at that point. By the time we picked up the vehicle we had checked out of our hotel (we were on vacation) and didn't want to pay one extra night just for them to piddle around, instead we determined to sit in their showroom so they felt obligated to move complete the job that was supposed to be done two days earlier. When the vehicle was turned over to us they still hadn't added the keypad, only a tow package with a flimsy wire coming out of from under the van seat to connect to trailer which lasted about 6 months before I had to have it replaced professionally, not with Ford service department. When I mentioned the keypad they assured me that I could have it done at home at my local Ford dealership at Blue Springs Ford in MO. They would call ahead and get it worked out for me when I arrived. They also had seat belt extenders waiting for us at Blue Springs Ford too for car seats. Once I got to Blue Springs Ford in MO. they had the seat belt extenders but had no communication about adding the keypad which was on my bill of sale. They called Montrose and Tim Krupp told them that I had not paid for a keypad. Even the manager in Blue Springs looked at my bill of sale and agreed with me that I paid for it but they didn't add it. Yet, he (Blue Springs Ford in MO. manager wouldn't have his dealership pay to make it right, (which I can understand his sentiment, even though frustrating). Tim Krupp called me after a couple of weeks and let me know that I would be getting a call soon about my experience and to be positive about it and that he would get me taken care of for the keypad. By this time I had no confidence in his competence or character so I told him that I would be frank and honest about my experience. After trying to convince me to "be patient" and once he realized that I would not lie for him his tone changed; and he told me that I would have to now get an aftermarket keypad put on because he would not help me to get the job done, if I wouldn't help him. Even though I paid for it. I called his manager and left a couple messages but never got any return calls. I cannot say that this location is any worse than any other, they just continue the sentiment in fact in my opinion are the epitome of long-held beliefs regarding car salesmen. Do not give cash or drive off lot until everything is exactly as you want...do not take their word that it will be right by some date. If they want your business, make them earn it by just doing the bare minimum of what your bill of sale states. I hope you have a much better experience. My vehicle by the way, we love it. In fact are looking to upgrade in 2017 to another Ford full size van. read more

BUYERS BEWARE OF BODYSHOP! UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES! I recently had a car repaired at Montrose after it was damaged at a mall parking lot. I was a repeat customer and thought they would take care of me. I was planning to pay out of pocket since I did not want my insurance to increase over a minor repair. I should have known that I was going to be abused when they kept pushing me for my insurance information (I guess that I am not surprised since they have insurance company names plastered all over their windows). By the way, while I was waiting a mother and daughter entered right after me with a similar problem and the shop also tried a hard sell for their insurance information saying the bill would be thousands for what looked like a minor repair. I received an estimate and the car was repaired a few weeks later. When I received the bill, there were unauthorized charges on it and it was for much higher than the estimate. Throughout the entire process, I was dealing with the Office Manager who was often rude and kept quoting "their policy" that seemed to change based on the statements she was trying to defend. I also asked for the policy in writing and it was never provided. She told me that she authorized the additional charges. During the process I even asked to speak with the Body Shop Manager but she insisted on saying that she needed to speak with him. With unauthorized charges and no other option, I was stuck paying for the car and a sick feeling for how poorly they treated a repeat customer. In hindsight, I should have researched them more on this site and others because I would not have gone anywhere with a 2 STAR rating. Check out the other reviews on this site and if you get past the free coffee and beverages, it is really a one star review. It is shops like this that add unauthorized charges on to final bills and we as consumers pay more in insurance or "out of pocket" bills. I would like to think that this may have just been an example of an overzealous Office Manager with very poor customer service skills but the other reviews speak to a much deeper problem. read more

Had my car "repaired" at Montrose Collision (attached to Montrose Ford). Was told it would take 1 1/2 weeks and after 3 days got a call that it was done. I picked up the car and noticed that a panel on the car was incorrectly installed, some weather stripping was loose, etc. I received two follow-up survey calls and told them about the problem and they said I would be contacted. Never got a call. Finally got in contact with them and they apologized and I was promised they could resolve the issues once additional parts arrived in 30-45 minutes. I just got done spending 3 hours in the shop. The worst part was that throughout the service I was told things like "they are just buttoning it back together", "it should be done any minute", and "they will be bringing it up in just a few minutes". Each of these promises was met with 30 more minutes of waiting. After speaking with the manager, he finally gave me a realistic promise, but after finally getting the car back, noticed some gunk on the headlight and panel that was fixed when the manager came and cleaned it. The weatherstripping still does not match, but I was not staying there a minute longer. Hope everyone else avoids this place that "only gets that big and nice because they do a good job" and find a different shop that will fix things right the first time and keep their promises... read more

My husband called on a truck we saw on cars.com. My husband made sure to ask very specific questions about the vehicles options, etc. One very important item was a tuner that the used car manager Kyle specifically stated was on the truck. When the truck arrived we immeditately realized the tuner was not on it. We called Kyle and he was nice (at that time) and said he would "make it right." He even went so far as to tell my husband he would agree to $400 reimbursement for the part. After waiting for over a week, and no check arrived, we called back to speak to the customer relations manager, and a gentleman answered calling himself the general manager. it turned out he was actually the COO (according to Kyle) and was sarcastic and condescending. He said he would "look into it" and call me back. About 30 minutes later, Kyle called me and informed me that I "messed with the wrong person" and that the COO instructed him not to "give her anything" (meaning me), and then when Kyle said we had no contract, I mentiond that he was on a recorded line when he and my husband first spoke. At that point he said, "Yeah, well record this," and hung up on me. I have no respect for Montrose Ford and wil tell this story to anyone who will listen. It's funny that I wrote a review on their facebook page and found out earlier tonight that I was 'blocked' from their site. Haha, oh well. Don't buy from them they lie, they're rude, and they're disrespectful! read more
