What an experience... I buy a new truck every 3 months, because well... I want to. I've been to TONS of Ford dealers, but this was my first experience here at Montrose Ford. After filling out the online interest form for the new Raptor, I was contacted by a sales rep. He was very rude and almost blew the deal. I ended up going over his head to the sales manager and requested a different sales rep. (I was informed the first guy was new, then assigned to a different sales rep. -Why would you give me a sales rep that's new, when I'm spending $97k, I expected better service from the start..) My insurance company recommended Ford Montrose Collision Center, I never received an update on my vehicle within two weeks, I had to call them. Some parts were on back order.my vehicle sat outside for three months without being started . When I finally picked my vehicle up three months later. I drove it less than five miles , the AWD censor and Emissions system light came on and the vehicle idled while in park. I was asked to bring it back , so they could troubleshoot. The collision center was unable to fix the vehicle, they sent it to Sierra Acura. Sierra Acura, ran test and sent a video a censor needed to be replaced, my rotors and break pads. The video mentioned that this was likely from sitting in outdoor elements for a period of time . Montrose Ford cover the cost of the censor replacement. I spoke with the director Jim, he was condescending, lack empathy, and was rude. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I was left with a bill from Acura for $1400 . Jim spoke with the service technician from Acura who confirmed that this was likely because the vehicle sat . I was responsible for not only the bill , but transportation to pick my vehicle up from the location they sent my vehicle to. I had just replaced my rotors in Oct and breaks in January. read more

I would like to express my extreme disappointment in how Montrose Ford handled my Bronco order. After patiently waiting 20 months from the initial reservation for my vehicle to come in and then have Montrose Ford "require" that I pay for $1500 worth of vehicle "protection" at the last moment is unfair and unjust. I did not order this option at the time of vehicle ordering and it is not on the final sticker from Ford either. Therefore, I should not be expected or required to purchase this option. As my hard top Bronco is in high demand, Montrose Ford was very purposeful and strategic in sabotaging my order so they could outfit my ordered vehicle with additional options and sell at a higher sticker price. I confirmed with two other dealerships in the area that this practice is "not a thing" and they would never require this of their customers. They both seemed quite embarrassed that another Ford dealership in the area would behave this way or require this option. I will more than likely still place an order for a Bronco when ordering opens in a couple of months for the 2023 models. I will pay a bit more now, but at least I will be purchasing from a dealership that I can trust and is interested in a longer-term relationship than making a quick buck now. I am a patient person. Just a warning before you purchase from Montrose Ford in Fairlawn. I purchased a car here 4 months ago and part of the exhaust broke where it had apparently been taped up instead of being repaired correctly prior to me purchasing it. I was told to bring it in and they would take care of it (what an awesome place!) Only to bring it in (2 little ones in tow) to hear that now there is a long list of why they won't fix it, for example: "well it wasn't broke (it was rigged up with tape that is expected to last 3-4 months- said my step father who is a manager at one of the largest auto part stores in the US) when you bought it" and "it's going to cost us a crazy amount to fix", and "We actually don't have to approve or meet any standards when we sell a used car" -General Manager Chris. I actually had a good first experience with Brian at Montrose Ford and am sad to report such a lack of actual customer concern and service behind what they sell, especially when they state that they strive for excellent customer service on their voice recorded phone message. After speaking twice l with general manager, Chris, I had hoped that they would resolve this issue with great customer service and satisfaction, as he stated he would 'find out what he could do and get back with me'. Chris has never reached back out and sadly, I am now more disappointed in Montrose Ford than ever. I have called numerous times, left messages, spoken with the receptionist and still, I have not received one phone call in return. The one time I was actually able to get a hold of anyone else (Joe, the other general manager) I was promised he would call me back within minutes, many hours later and I still have had no contact with them. I am thoroughly disappointed with not only the service but also the lack of accountability and responsibility Montrose Ford has displayed. What I have found is that for all of the normal servicing like oil changes and tire rotation and alignment, they are priced very comparable to anyone and I have paid less for oil changes at times because of specials. The quality of the job and experience and expertise of the technicians is worth it to me. I like that Rick in service is like my advisor. He knows me and my car. Took my 4 month old Mach E to them for a seat stitch repair and it turned into interior plastic being damaged by their techs. They were upfront on the damage and ordered a new piece to replace it. Took the car back a few weeks later and the part didn't have the same fit as the original, therefore a new one had to be ordered. Called them 4-5 weeks after that appointment and they had said apparently the new part never got ordered. After many weeks, finally made an appointment to take my car in to have that replaced, 10k mile service, windshield wiper issue and paint flaking on the front bumper looked at. Day of service the collision person Jordan called me and said he seen a scratch lower on the bumper and that may have been the cause for the paint flaking under the headlights on a now 5 month old car. Insinuating that the issue was user error and not Ford issue. I was not aware of a lower issue and know for a fact it's a known Mach E headlight alignment issue not just me. The issue I referenced seemed to be sat aside and they focused on the wrong things. Went to get the car expecting to pay around $26 for a tire rotation per the service manager Daves quote earlier in the day. The cashier said I had no balance due and that they used my Ford Points for the service. I immediately indicated that was wrong to do without permission and I was saving them. Nathan replies with "where else are you going to use them but the Ford dealer". Quite snarky remark for using something without someone's permission. I was saving them for connected services that had expired on my car. They said they would refund the points and I ended up paying out of pocket for the service which is what I wanted. Hopefully I actually get a refund as I am owed it since I did pay out of pocket. I purchased the car here which is the only reason I went back for service. My salesman apparently drove a Mach E, but I knew more of the feature than he did. The car for the 2023 model year also lost features compared to prior years such as front camera washer, hands free trunk and park assist. All things I thought the car had when buying and mentioned when buying it (since my trade in had those things) and the sales person didn't say a word. Which is a shame because I feel like they should know the features for their own cars. I don't feel they have any electric car experience and won't be returning. Overall this dealer has been very poor on communication, careless with servicing(black finger prints on tan ceiling) and quite a hassle to deal with from the start. **Attention Scammer Dealership** Montrose Ford in Fairlawn, Ohio I saw this 2020 GT500 listed on eBay for sale and contacted Daniel Russel "Sales Manager" after a little back and forth talk we came to a deal on a price and they pulled the listing down as you can see in the photo. They sent me the credit app as you can see in my email they ran my credit and got it approved through Ford with a Mike in their finance department. Just a normal deal as many of my other car purchases, "well so I thought." I was supposed to get the paperwork in the mail on Thursday or Friday and didn't show up, so I called the dealership and texted Daniel asking were is my paperwork as you can see in the text screen shot. Had a bad experience with their sales and finance team. We agreed on a fair price for a 2020 Nitemare F150 but with their requirement I'd go through their financial institution, when they came back with an outrageous rate I shared I wasn't interested in pursuing the vehicle. The sales person turned unprofessional and actually blocked me online after insulting me only to circle back and try to revive the deal two days later so he could make a sale for month end close. The finance manager tried to spin the biweekly payments as cutting the interest in half and paying $13k less over the life of the loan when it actually only calculated to be just over $2k in savings. They tried to stick me with a double digit interest rate on a purchase and spin it as though it was the best they could do and that I wouldn't be able to do better ANYWHERE ELSE on a similar purchase. I ended up spending $75k on a 2021 F150 at a local Ford dealership locally with a rate less than half of what Montrose tried to tell me was the best they could do. This place is filled with shady and unscrupulous sales people. BUYER BEWARE! They conned my 70 year old mother by getting her to come down "just to take a look" at a new car. She was very clear she did not want to buy/lease at that time. But once they got her there alone, these scumbags saw an easy score and proceeded to coax and con her into buying a car she did not need (ALLLLLLL the bells and whistles, for a woman who drives less than 5000 miles per year) and they stuck her with an UNCONSCIONABLE lease. Seriously. It is criminal. $570/month lease payment in a Ford Escape. AN ESCAPE!! She has good credit (high 700s) but on a fixed income, as all retirees are, and she *easily* could have purchased a car and secured a loan for far far less. In addition to their unethical sales practices, the car itself is a lemon. It has bizarre electrical problems no one has been able to diagnose. In fact I'm currently waiting on a tow truck to get it out of here. The SECOND tow truck today, as the first jumped it just fine. I had it running for an hour, turned it off for 10 seconds, and NOTHING in the battery. Nothing is powered. Nothing. This is the 4th or 5th time this exact same problem happens. I will have it towed to a different dealer, and it will mysteriously work just fine. Until we get it home and need it. We took our 2017 F350 diesel here to get an oil change and the fuel filters replaced. The oil change should have been $124.00 as that's what I was told. They gave me the bill for $420.00. When I told them that was outrageous they deducted $50.00. I had a recall and I believe they found a way to add that labor into my bill. I don't normally leave reviews, however I felt I needed to this time because of the poor customer service I received from the Service Dept Manager, David Padgitt. I recently took my 2019 F150 to Montrose Ford to remove my locking lug nuts and replace them with a standard lug nut. Upon picking up my truck one of my rims had 2 gouges in it from them removing the lugs. I showed it to Dave, he took pictures and made it seem like they would take care of the damage that was caused by them. I never heard back from Dave so I called him and he told me he was waiting to hear back from his wheel/chrome guys to see what they could do. A week went by and still no call from Dave. So I called him again and he said yeah your name is right in front of me and now he is trying to find a good used rim to replace the damaged rim. I said ok great, please keep me informed and he said he would. 2 more weeks go by and no call from Dave so I just called him once again and he said he can order a new one for $600 or a used one for $300 but I was going to have to pay for it not them. This is how they were going to fix the damage that they caused. On top of all of this they also put a crease in my tailgate by leaving a tool or the lug nut on my bumper when they opened the tailgate. I didn't see this until after the fact and did mention this to Dave as well. So after all of this they are not going to do anything about either of these issues. Needless to say I'm extremely pissed by this as I take pride in how I take care of my truck and how it looks. I walked into this dealership with my friend a few days ago looking for an Ecoboost Mustang, we ended up looking at the Roush mustangs outside for a bit, excited to see so many as we're both car enthusiasts. Then went inside to find someone holding the door for us. When we walked in I was kind of confused as to what was going on, as the man opening the door didn't look like a salesman and wasn't wearing the usual attire or anything that would indicate as so. On first contact I got the vibe that I wasn't going to be taken seriously, I'm a 23 year old that looks like I'm 18 so I can sort of understand, but still expect to be treated like any other customer. When I explained that I was looking at a few cars that day (Mustang, Subaru BRZ, Mazda Miata) and was extremely interested in the Ecoboost mustang. I was told they didn't have any on the lot, Then told that when I was "more serious about purchasing" they'd order one for me. Why would I buy a mustang blindly without ever sitting in one, seeing how much space it had, etc? Asked to see another Mustang just to look at interior, trunk size, etc. Not to drive it. And was told that the interior was different in the GT than it is in the Ecoboost premium. Really? Cmon...Maybe a little, but overall similar enough to get an idea of the size of the car. BS. Overall after speaking with the salesman, my friend and I both got the vibe that we both weren't being taken seriously when discussing the car, exchanged the looks of "time to leave" and left. Went over to Mazda and not only did they let me look at the Miata, they let me drive it and treated me as an equal. 1st incident: When I first moved to the area, my car had a recall on it. I took the car to them and they made me pay 4 days worth of rental car while the part was "in-stock" (read ordered). Swore I would never come back except... 2nd incident: Car had lost a synchro and I took it to them as they are again the closest. They again made me pay for a loaner while they "diagnosed it" to be nothing they could tell. Took it to Al Spitzer who immediately gave me a loaner and called the regional engineer. 3rd and Final: Went to order a limited production car from them. They ran my credit and took the deposit before saying that they were adding 15k (!) to the price. I asked for my deposit back, thanks for the ding on my credit. If you are looking for a shady deal on an F150, Montrose has you covered. Montrose advertised the truck at an attractive price that included Ford rebates. I called and asked if I could also get 0% financing and the answer was yes. I negotiated a fair trade on my 2015 F150. The salesman, returned with a monthly payment that was higher than I expected. I asked why and he told me that I could not apply both the Ford rebate and 0% financing. I understood this to be a Ford "one-or-the-other" deal. I negotiated a deal without the rebate. This was during the COVID-19 virus outbreak and all done with text messages, phone calls and emails. I had asked for the cost breakdown to be emailed to me a couple of times and all I got was a monthly payment. I should have walked away at this point, my bad. To respect social distancing recommendations I asked to have everything ready when I got there. A sign and drive deal. When I arrived at the dealership, I signed off quickly and left the facility. When I got home I read through the deal and found that there was a $3000 rebate included, essentially going straight to Montrose Ford. In summary they were dishonest about the rebate and took advantage of the situation. This is exactly why car salesmen often have a bad reputation. Yes, my bad for not taking the time to review the contract before I signed it. This isn't my first rodeo, I should know better. I shared my discontent with the salesman and he did offer to have his sales manager contact me. I responded saying that if he was going to call me and offer me condolences for my loss, don't bother. If he wants to do something about it, he has my number. I never heard back from them. The Ford F150 is a great product that deserves better than Montrose Ford. read more

Resistall Scam and Financing Issues: Recently ordered a new 2022 Ford Lightning through the Ford website and designated Montrose Ford as the delivering dealer. When I went in to sign the contracts I asked for a copy of all the documents. I was given a thumb drive and was told they were all there. They were not. Only a copy of the contract showing the final price after my trade-in. I called the salesperson and asked for a hard copy which I received shortly thereafter. Once I reviewed the detailed breakdown I discovered I was charged $1,495 for "Resistall", a paint protection sealant. I went back to the dealer and told them I didn't order the Resistall, nor was I told it was added. Yes, I should have taken the time to review the breakdown before signing, but I missed it initially. The salesman said there was nothing he could do so I asked to see his manager. Big mistake. The manager simply said "It's a standard addition they do to ALL of their new cars" and would not remove the fee. Additionally he said it was on all the Maroni stickers (the stickers they put on the car showing the sales price). I then demanded he show me the sticker from his files since I was never given one. At that point he jumped up, grabbed the contracts out of my hand and told me to "Get out of the buliding" or he would call the police. Within seconds I was surrounded by no less than seven sales people and staff and ushered toward the door. As I was leaving I also told him that their finance girl had told me there was a pre-payment penalty if I were to pay off the loan within 7 months. I had called the lender previously and they said there was no such penalty. Seems the dealership gets a "kick-back" from the lender (Not Ford Credit) as long as the loan isn't paid off within a certain amount of time. I'm a 68 year old veteran who was blatantly lied to and treated in an extremely rude and harassing manner. I don't expect to be "thanked for my service" but neither do I expect to buy an expensive truck then given a "Bum's Rush" out the door. I may buy another Ford in the future but it won't be from this deceitful, dishonest dealership. read more

Worse place ever to purchase a vehicle. I co-signed for my 22 yr old son, his 1st car purchase. The salesman we were supposed to deal with had someone else work with us. Cocky and disrespectful, I should have just gotten up and walked out, but my son really wanted this car. He paid way to much for it in my book, but he was getting what he wanted. At least he thought he was.....this place is so cheap that they wouldn't even replace a bad windshield wiper. Said they did a full inspection on the car, but if they did they would have noticed the seat belt in the back seat was broken and would have replaced that too. We didn't find that out until we got it home. They supposedly ordered one for us, that was 4 months ago, we've never heard a thing from them. Also he purchased the bumper to bumper warranty, was told it was like a brand new car warranty, covers anything....WRONG!!!!! Please.. do NOT buy a car from these rip off artists!! Imagine a 19 year old kid... excited to get his first decent vehicle.... they show him a 2008 f250... lots of Miles, as is with no warranty....( totally understandable.) ... he asks to take it to his mechanic... they say NO, another buyer is coming to see the vehicle within the hour... so they send out one of "their" mechanics to go over the vehicle with him.... and says nothing other than coolant is a little low... . before he makes a $10,000 purchase... he reassures the kid that all is as well as can be .... and no known issues.... so YAY... vehicle is purchased. !!! Kid who has worked hard since he was 12 years old is ecstatic!! And signs the deal... fast forward 3 days...!!! ( 35 miles put on the vehicle) vehicle redlines HOT... and dumps coolant everywhere... it's brought back to the dealer to see what caused this... so after $89.99 diagnostic fee... ( for a vehicle that JUST left their lot... 72 hours ago..) the verdict is a cracked coolant radiator... $1800 please...!!? And hes told TOUGH LUCK... I do realize it was an AS IS PURCHASE.... but really... I thought this was a reputable dealership.... and wouldn't sell a vehicle with GIANT ISSUES.... so disappointing... especially since i told the kid to go to a "GOOD DEALER" rather than a smaller mom and pop one.... because they wouldn't be SHADY... Our car buying experience was a positive one, but the service afterwards has left much to be desired. Recently took it in due to a concern for a noise that was found to be normal, but was still charged a $60 fee, when the job required zero bay time and no work to be done to the car. If I would have taken it to the local guy like we typically do, it would have been a nominal charge, or none at all. Then the local guy gets our business when there is actually something wrong, and I'm more than willing to pay him. This is why dealerships get a bad rap, I would be glad to give them future work if I agreed with their practices. But because they're more concerned with the bottom line and paying the service advisor for a "multi-point inspection" that wasn't actually completed, we do not plan on returning for any concerns down the road. read more

Let me start off with the good part of the review, I bought my Explorer, brand new, 3 weeks ago and have had it in for an issue the service dept have been an absolute pleasure to deal with, they have been very helpful and very understanding. A++ rating on them. Finance was a pleasure to deal with and aftermarket as well. A++ on them as well. Now to the not so good part, I, as anyone buyer would, shopped a few different dealerships for the explorer I wanted. I stopped in one day, to see with my eyes, the difference between a sport and an XLT. I was intending to buy my truck there bc the guy in sales said "I was shopping..." and didn't bother to quote me. I'm in sales and would fire an employee for every saying that but that aside, I stopped in and another sales guy, very nice man, informed me that bc I was in an accident that the insurance company should reimburse me for some of the taxes, so they lost my business and then gained it back. Then the idiot who didn't want to quote me recognized my name and proceeded to make comments bc he was butt hurt that he didn't want to do the work or take the time and now I might buy my truck from someone who was willing to take the time, consequently bc of his words and UNPROFESSIONALISM, I walked out. I did end up buying my truck there bc they gave me to another salesman who was a pleasure to deal with and simply gave me a good price, which was all I wanted all along. Then I have an issue with the truck, brand new, and a sales manager tells me that if he can't get it to them an error code that there is nothing they can do, the computer froze up and rebooted 47 times in one day and I have video proof and there's nothing you can do? Some of their sales professionals are anything but professional!! I even went and made a complaint to Ford itself about this dealership. Heck, their owner even has a sculpture in his office of a hand with a middle finger sticking up, what does that tell you. F grade for the unprofessionalism of this dealership with the people I dealt with minus the guy I bought my truck from but even that guy on a side note didn't go to bat for my issue WHICH AGAIN I HAD ON VIDEO!! I am a salesman and own my own company and would never do business like this. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING YOUR CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!! Take in there for service BUT DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. read more
