Van’s Auto Service & Tire Pros

My daughter's car experienced a flat tire recently. So I took it to a less reputable chain repair…read moreshop and was told I needed new rims and tires. They made a temporary fix and the next business day, I called Van's. Van's suggested I get new tires, but that I probably don't need new rims. So I made an appointment to get some Goodyear Assurance Max Life tires installed. I dropped the car off and they said they would take care of any issues with the rims. Later that day, they called me and informed me that the new tires had been installed and the car was ready to be picked up. So far, the tires have handled well and they're quieter than the last set. Also, the loud noise that I thought was a bad wheel bearing went away. I was worried that I was going to have to replace the tires, rims, and wheel bearings. But the new set of tires seems have have killed three birds with one stone. For that reason, I am grateful and will continue to shop at Van's. The lifetime free balancing and rotation is a nice perk too. I'll be back when my wife's car needs tires.

We stopped at one place who plugged and patched it but iti did not hold. We limped to Van's Auto Service when directed by someone at a service station right off the interstate. We could not have been better served. It was a Friday afternoon but Jeff problem solved so creatively, including giving us a loaner to go pick up a tire at the closest Lexus dealer, that we were only a few hours late arriving in Indiana. He and his fellow service rep went over and above to see that we were not stuck somewhere over the weekend without a tire. I cannot recommend them more highly. What a gift.

I cannot stress enough how good the service I just received was. I had originally scheduled an…read morealignment yesterday for 3:00PM today. I was getting tires installed at a local warehouse club (for the last time) and on my way to get an alignment at Tire Source. I had to call no less than 3 times to cancel, reschedule, and re-reschedule my appointment after the local warehouse club tire techs failed to properly install my tires. I would drive for a mile then spend 5 minutes putting air in my tires on the side of the highway. Drive another mile, 5 more minutes of air. Burke and another one of his associates were incredibly patient and helpful. They ultimately resolved the shortcomings of the original install and got me on my way with a perfect alignment in less than 30 minutes. I've spent a huge amount of money on my car in the last two weeks with various vendors and mechanics. If I could do it again I would have just gone right to the source-Tire Source. I have since moved away from Akron but the attention to detail and level of service for even my small amount of business (less than $100) is unheard of. I just wish these guys would run for political office, we certainly need this level of service there. THANK YOU! To all the techs and service staff at Tire Source. I'm feeling more confident than ever for my drive to California later this week! Thanks again guys!

Tire Source is a great and reliable place to get fast and friendly service. I immediately called Tire Source that morning, was able to get my vehicle in within the hour and they had a new tire for me that afternoon. Burke and Tony were both super helpful, and were even able to outline some other problems with my engine that they quoted work for. I shopped around for prices, and Tire Source was definitely the best priced and most reliable in the area, and worked with me on the price as that's something that I struggle with. I got my vehicle in after I returned and Tony updated me frequently with progress on my car, and had it done before they said they would. If you have any issues at all with your vehicle, Tire Source should always be your first choice.

When I moved to NE Ohio 25 year's ago, there were two things I did immediately to give me peace of…read moremind; find a good doctor and good car mechanic. Not only did I find both, but great ones at that! One day I went to have a standard oil change at one of the many lube stops that frequent the landscape, and later learned they had over torqued the steel oil pan screw and stripped the aluminum pan's threads. Needless to say I had big problem. I went back and the shop denied the damage and so found myself at a Honda dealership that promptly told me it would cost $1200 to replace! I was in a panic as I had nowhere that kind of money, and had to have my car to get to work. I asked around and my VP told me about Plevris. When I showed up, Mike, the owner personally greeted me and showed me the issue. He then said he could replace it, but since I was on a budget, he could fabricate a brass shim and see how long it would last. That small piece of metal lasted 2 years, and when I finally had to replace the oil pan, Mike found a used one and had it installed for $200! Not only did this simple fix save me from an enormous up front bill, it gained a customer for life! Over the years, Mike and his talented team have repaired my family's numerous vehicles, and not once did I feel cheated or mistreated. I have been driven to work after dropping my car off, picked up, and even allowed to borrow cars, all to accommodate me. I cannot speak for his other customers, but it would not surprise me if they received the same courtesy. Mike is a very rare find. In fact, this honest and ethical man honors his customers once a year with a Greek BBQ (full lamb on a spit) as a way of saying "Thank You" for your business! Good luck finding parking on that day! I cannot overstate how lucky I was to find Mike and his crew. He is good people.

I bring it in and they have it for SEVEN WEEKS, but that is just the beginning. Lord knows what they really did to it but I end up taking it back with the check engine light still on, and Mike (owner) has the audacity to try to charge me full price, which was about 3500 bucks if I recall correctly. He is the owner of the shop, told me he had the best guy on it, but was talking about my car like it was alien technology. IT WAS A TEN YEAR OLD MASS PRODUCED VEHICLE, not some formula 1 car. Anyway I ended up paying 1500 for the "parts" or whatever, Mike convinced me it was fine to drive on, but boom 5k miles later I get complete engine failure. For the love of God do not make the same mistake I did of thinking these guys know wtf they are doing.
