I had never heard of Monterrey tile until today. My tile guy recommended Monterrey and said they were competitive on pricing and had a good showroom. We walked in and saw that it was very busy (it was a Saturday) we browsed around for 10 minutes looking at the large selection of tile. I observed that the salesman there were very nice. One man noticed that a customer had been waiting for a while and apologized for the wait and thanked him for being patient and was very attentive to his needs. A few minutes later my wife and I realized we didn't know how to pair tile together and asked for help. Lisa said she would love to help us once she finished with her other customer. After a few minutes she helped us out and put together a great selection of tiles for us. She was very easy to work with and had great taste. Our experience their today made us feel confident in the choices for our shower and we have no plans to look anywhere else. Great job Monterrey, even on a busy day! read more

The problem I ran into with this company happened years ago when I had Saltillo tile installed throughout my downstairs. Because the installer couldn't seal the tile until 3 weeks later, I went to MT to ask them if it was too difficult for someone who has worked with tile but is not a professional. They gave me instructions and I bought all products recommended. Weeks later I returned saying that my tile was tacky and was attracting dirk like crazy. MT told me it was because I had not applied a hardner. I complained that I used the products they sold me which didn't include the hardner . Bottom line, they refused to take responsibility and I had to have the tile professionally stripped and resealed at my own expense. I will never do business with them again. read more

Worst customer service ever!! The installer, who did a terrible job, blamed the poor job on 'inferior tile from Monterey.' When we asked Monterey to put in writing that it was an installer problem, and not a tile problem, they refused, even though they sent a representative out from Monterey to inspect it. The inspector agreed that it was an installer problem, but because the installer buys product from them, they refused to do what was right. Run, don't walk, from this poor company. read more

Went in a few times and each time we got a different person to help us...our previous person no longer worked their. They were not offering full service...meaning we had to hire someone independently to remove our old tile. The installer is a third party who due to his cutting causing a great deal of excess material...causing the price to double. We went back for a full refund and the salesperson was rude. read more

I was shopping for some tile for a remodel project for my home and visited this store based on reviews on this site. The first person to assist me told me from the start that my choice of tile "was very expensive" even though it is a modestly priced tile and the project is very small, then he passed me to another employee who seemed bothered to be helping me. She showed me one tile like the picture I had brought in and gave me very curt answers when I had questions. I then asked about a different type of tile when the one she showed me was not what I was looking for. She showed me to this tile and left me to browse on my own, which was fine until I had questions. She seemed annoyed and again gave curt answers. She did not attempt to problem solve with me when I chose a nonstandard size tile, telling me it wouldn't look good. I left this store and found what I was looking for at another store that did help me problem solve. read more

I have found that in the course of home improvement projects to expect the unexpected. This can be mitigated by the response of the Company. The service we received from our sales person at Monterrey, Farah Haddad, was truly as good as it gets. Because of a third party vendor error the wrong tile was delivered. Farah handled this mixup promptly and professionaly with calm assurance. We had the correct tile hand unloaded the next day! Three boxes of tile were damaged and Farah personally drove replacement boxes to our home. We finished the project on schedule and had several boxes of tile left over which Farah credited to us with her usual aplomb. Monterrey is our go to tile place, period! read more

Purchased tile from Monterrey Tile for a remodel 5 years ago. A friend is remodeling and asked me to help her with granite selection for her kitchen. We sent 3 days in a row at another granite supplier. She would find something she liked see plenty of stock, then when we would ask for product to be pulled - told it wasn't available, or there would be some in yard they would bring in and it would be totally different. I had checked Monterrey's site for her for tile and noticed they now sold granite. So on our way home we decided to stop at Monterrey Tile, went to there showroom and met Bob. Bob took us in and showed us what she was interested in. Bob was very knowledgeable about all the granite. Turns out he wasn't the normal person to show the slabs, but the purchaser for slabs. No wonder he knew so much. Anyway, we were there less than an hour and she found her perfect match for her house and is very happy. They have a great selection. They move out the product once it is on hold or sold, so others don't see the slab and get there hopes up that it is available. Great experience and service.... read more

I went in to Monterrey Tile and was blown away by the incredible selection. A bit overwhelming but we had some help from the sales staff and actually went a different direction. Instead of a stone counter top, we decided to go with Mexican tile. The quality of the product was outstanding and beautiful. A friend recommended Monterrey Tile. The experience was great. Eric, our sales rep was very helpful in picking out a combination of tiles & grout that went very well together. The price was very reasonable. They refunded any unopened products I had purchased. The only issue was one of the tiles we picked out was not in stock. The sales rep informed us prior to making our purchase so we knew ahead of time that there was going to be a short wait. We are very happy with our new kitchen & bathroom. I went there to find Mexican pavers for a patio extension. They have a very nice selection of them, and the salesperson, Jefferey Bennett, was extremely helpful and pleasant. The delivery guy was also super nice, and brought a forklift on the back of his flatbed truck so he could bring the palette of tiles through the alley to the back of our house. We went in with the idea of getting some Talavera tile and we did purchase some. We also purchased some other things to "test" at our home. We looked around a bit and the store is full of great ideas. Jeffery was the person that helped us and he had lots of information and was very helpful. We also have since purchased some artificial grass and the estimator, Ed of ProTurf was very nice and helpful. It's a great store and kinda puts you in "what can I do next for my home" mode.
