I went into the petite Fashion Valley store today to see if they have 2027 agendas available. Julia informed me that they were not in stock yet, and they may not get them at all. So sad! Since I was already in the store, I decided to look around and I became quite mesmerized by the Romeo & Juliet collection of pens. They're so gorgeous, but I'll stick with my trusty rose gold ball point! After browsing and chatting with Julia for a bit, I received a phone call and I headed out, but this was a very pleasant experience for me. Contender for the worst service I have ever experienced and I'm over 50! I was hardly acknowledged by the clerk. The clerk was helping another client but made no effort to speed the transaction. When her colleague became free he didn't even acknowledge me and instead directed his attention to the printer! After fussing with the printer for 5 minutes he left without even acknowledging me. I waited patiently for over 15 minutes and finally left. I need to repair my Montblanc but after this experience I may stick with my Pelikan, Pilot fountain pen or cheap disposable pens. read more

I went to get a pen for my stepdad. His was stolen years ago at a family funeral when he was asked to loan it out for the guest book. Even though it had his name engraved on it, it *poofed* out of existence. So for Christmas this past year we decided to remedy that. The service and help I received at the store was second to none. The person helping me was Emily. She let me try all the differing options to feel how they wrote in my hand. I loved that experience alone. I would definitely recommend the quality and service I received here. I did not have it engraved as I wasn't sure what my stepdad would want engraved on it. Also thought maybe he'd want to trade it for the platinum Meisterstück option (l would but he's old school and preferred the gold). And he couldn't do that if it was personalized. Recently visited to finally buy a long awaited Le Grand Meisterstuck for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised. The store is small but clean, well organized and they limit the number of people in the store which is refreshing - you will never bump into other people and can take your time to digest the experience as its meant to be. I tried several pens and decided to go with the rose gold le grand and am super happy with my purchase. The missing one star is because of sales pressure. It felt like she wanted me to make a decision soon so she could make her sale and move on to the next. I mean its not Rolex but still, could have improved the experience to a full 5 stars if it was just laid out to you and you were given no pressure to decide asap. Overall a great store with friendly people and an amazing selection of writing instruments and small leather goods if you are into that. read more

Just a thank-you to Rick who was so very knowledgeable and helpful regarding my faux MontBlanc cartridge pen. This pen was gifted to me in the early 90s so one thing we both agreed on was that it is vintage LOL. I had done some research and Yelp friend Terry C. also was kind to get me some extra information to check out I spent quite a bit of time researching and I did find the identical-looking pen. Although, mine was without the sterling silver stamp, no serial number, no Sterling around the flower on the top of the pen and it did not have made in Germany. We tried to put in a MontBlanc Partridge In it and did not fit. I had no idea there was so much to learn about a pen. Did you know that they go up into the thousands of dollars? If you feel like looking at any Amazon has a lot. They really are a beautiful pen company and if you ever want to collect something Beautiful and actually use it this is it. not Not all Is lost.. my pen it's still a beauty and Rick did polish it for me. John was an amazing salesperson. I had been gifted a Mont Blanc pen and he sat down with me, showed me how to use it, clean it and overall take very good care of it. He had me write with several different ink colors and I left with a sampler pack and one of the psychedelic Beatles special edition covers. I usually don't like going into high-end stores because the staff can be snooty bit John was friendly, efficient, and helped me out without any condescension I have experienced in other shops. I ran out of ink for my fountain pen, and luckily this place was close to my school. So I decided to make a quick drive to get new ink. However, I forgot the model of my pen & bought the capsule type. When I got home, my dad informed me that I bought the wrong ink so I made a second trip the next morning with my dog. The next morning, I was greeted by Jorge Rivera (assistant manager). I was surprised that he didn't judge me by my looks. Because I'm usually in my running shoes or rainbows wearing gym clothes. And everytime I visit some stores in Fashion, some employees completly mistreat me or even ignore my existance base on my outfit. Anyway, he let my dog come inside the store and kindly explained the types of inks I need for my pen. All I have to say is that he provided such an excellent customer service and I was very thankful because he was awesome :) Also, my dad gave me his pen to me so I was new to this fountain pen thing. And Jorge was kind & patient enough to explain the anatomy of the pen and how to take care of it and how to change ink. Overall, I liked my experience and if I ever have to visit this place again, I'll make an appointment with him if possible because he is knowledgeable in what he does. read more

Apparently, I am responsible for over tightening my pen. I purchased the RB Starwalker Extr 111514 and 3 months later the cap started to split. After going to the store both in New York as well as the store I purchased it from in San Diego this one, I was told to call you when he hundred number and send all my paperwork and my pen to evaluate whether it would be under warranty. When I called the number and describe the problem the lady told me that I was over tightening my pen in that it would not be a warranty repair. She also said I had to send it in with the little black booklet that I got and I told her I don't have it anymore but I do have my receipt and it was just June 2015. I was told there was a two year warranty. It's ironic that I have never had a pen break in my life until I purchased a pen that was several hundred dollars. I figure they can probably just swap out my But the San Diego won't do it and neither will any other store so instead I have to go through this long process of shipping in and waiting a few weeks and maybe it will be covered but most likely it will not be. I find that to be a Extreme waste of time and pretty terrible service. I never thought you would need great service when purchasing a pen but I would avoid a month blanc pen and go with something else or someone else. read more

Caution: If you buy something from them online, pray you don't have to exchange anything. I purchased a pen and refills online and picked them up at the boutique in Fashion Valley. At the boutique, it was clear that I had ordered the incorrect refills and I asked to exchange them on the spot. Instead, I was handed a form and a FedEx label and was told to fill out the form and mail the refills back for an exchange. Which is absolutely ridiculous, but not nearly the worst part. That very next day, I did as instructed and mailed in the refills for an exchange. A few days later I received an email saying the my exchange had been received and accepted. Yesterday (10 days after the confirmation of my exchange acceptance email) however, I received a phone call from Mont Blanc customer service stating that I "need to send the refills to get the exchange." I (kindly) assured them that I DEFINITELY mailed in the refills with my exchange form. I know because I would notice that I still had the refills in my possession if I hadn't sent them and would have noticed within the last two weeks. I suggested maybe it was an issue on their end or maybe the issue was with FedEx. I didn't know, but it wasn't my policy to return everything by mail instead of doing the exchange in the STORE. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the rep reassured me that the supervisor would say the same thing and she wasn't there anyway. The implication here is that I was pulling some kind of fast one. Which I obviously am not, and if I were doing that, why wouldn't I just ask for a refund of the items instead of an exchange. And we are talking about a $40 purchase. Apparently, purchasing hundreds of dollars in pens means nothing for loyalty of the customer to this company. I will 100% never again order a Mont Blanc item. And I will make sure to tell the multitude of lawyers I work with, who carry them, all about this experience. All for an exchange worth $40. read more

Meh. 2-stars sounds so horrible, but 3 means A-ok and that's just not how I feel. A friend bought me my first MB pen and although it was expensive, I never felt the quality was really there. When the pen was stolen I cast aside my better judgement and bought a replacement. I bought the same pen and asked for the same engraving, my initials on the clip. NBD, but they were off-center. Again, NBD, I told them to order a new cap and have it done at the factory. Almost 2 months later... The pen came out fine and they really mean well here - they're very friendly, but it's just flash as far as I'm concerned. read more

Visited this location to get something for my husband for Father's Day. - staff was very friendly and accommodating - very clean location - staff works with your budget I ended up buying my husband a pair of really cool cuff links. He was very pleased by them. I may visit again to buy myself a cool ink pen. They have an amazing selection of ink pens and ink wells, cartridges and stationary to go along with the pens. Very nice people. You might feel its well-to-do, but they treat everyone nice. I bought my first 149 there last week and am very happy with the pen and the experience. In fact, when you spend 1000 on a pen you are also paying for the whole purchasing experience. You can try out multiple pens and find out what works for you. Alejandro Tomas was the Sales Associate who assisted me. The best part of the experience is that he did not pressure me. Whenever I handle something expensive I expect the products are well protected. Alejandro allowed me to handle the pens without making me feel like all eyes were immediately on me, watching my every move. Finally, he asked me what was the special occasion and that was a nice touch. I know it sounds silly but it kind of made me feel I had achieved something. Delina helped me when I needed a pen cap replacement, as mine had broken off. Throughout the process she was my contact. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks. After the first 3 weeks I called to check up on it, the repair center in Texas was lagging and didnt have the part. So I called back again after another 3 weeks or so and it still wasn't ready. After returning from a trip, I received a message that my writing instrument was ready, this was after a total of around 3 months! I wasn't much happy about waiting that long. But after a simple complaint to Delina about having to wait for Texas to repair it, she gave me a huge discount on the repair bill and left me a satisfied customer, thanks Delina. -Kurt read more

Poor service. I would think they would want to help a customer and engage to make a sale. I doubt many people come in to loiter for a $600 pen. It's not like they're fun to look at and dream about, it's pen. But I guess our money wasn't good enough since they didnt once offer to show us anything. I personally think a $600 pen is silly, but my husband wants one. Good customer service would have made a sell. I dont need a poor customer experience when looking to spend $600 on a pen. Can I give less than one star? Agree with previous review, "it's just flash." After purchasing a bag and having it replaced because of a defective buckle shortly after purchase, I recently returned to the store just over 2yrs of having the bag and now the buckle has become unstitched! They are happy to send my bag out to be fixed for approx. 6 weeks repair time and at a cost of nearly 1/2 the price of the bag ! The products sold there are clearly not for functional everyday use or even casual use but for "show only." I'm seriously disappointed in there customer service and product line. One would think with such a small client base they would like to keep there customers happy. It's obvious from the "downsizing" of the store to only 300 square feet that business is not doing well, wonder why? I will be returning to my "go to" Nordstrom as they value their customer base !!! read more

Always great service here as you would expect for the price point. They have moved to 3 different spaces in the mall in the last few years and the current one is the reason for 4 instead of 5* . It's a really small showroom with 1 small table to test the pens. The last one was a large upstairs location with lots of room and displays to see all of their stuff. read more

The workers at the Beverly Center Montblanc seem to have no idea how treat a customer. Kim (Store manager) was pretty bad. First, Kim mistakenly gave me the wrong clasp and I was told store policy is store credit. Ok, not sure how that works. Never met a shop that doesn't allow for returns, especially if it's their mistake. I had to call another Montblanc to deal with the situation but later agreed on an exchange. Came back to the Beverly center to get the right clasp, then was told by Luis and his store manager, that they could not get my watch band off. So, naturally I said "Ok, I would like to return it". Again, store exchange. Still, not sure why I can't get my money back on their mistake again. I called the other Montblanc to call the Beverly Center Montblanc to authorize a return. Worst customer service EVER!! Don't EVER buy any products from this company. On May 9, 2016 I purchased a Meisterstuck 161 pen for $496.80 for my son's college graduation gift. The sales person, Alejandro Tomas seated me at a table with my back to the register. When I started to get up to go to the cash register to complete my transaction, he told me to wait at the table and he would bring my receipt to me. He asked me to sign a paper which I assumed was my receipt. On May14, 2016, I changed my mind about giving the pen as a gift but when I tried to return the pen, I was told by Alejandro, then his supervisor, then the store manager that they would not refund my money, only store credit or exchange. I informed them I had never been advised this was their policy at the time of purchase as I would never have purchased such an expensive item if I had been told of this policy. She pointed to a sign at the register and I told her Alejandro had seated me with my back to the register and he had NEVER informed me of this return policy. Are you kidding me??? Then the store manager had the nerve to say I could use the store credit or give it to my son to use. I told her that neither my family, my friends or anyone else I tell this story to will EVER shop at Mont Blanc again. For a high end store that's been around forever, this is the MOST ridiculous policy and such POOR customer service, I am shocked and disgusted. read more

If I could go with 0 stars I would. Hideous place. Rude, rude, rude pompous men. Recently I had the unfortunate experience of going to this store for pen refills. Apparently these guys can't fathom someone having the financial status to be able to own three MB pens. I'm grateful that I do. I have also received MB pens for special occasions. Regardless I walked and was immediately treated like a criminal. The man at the register could hardly contain his contempt at the idea that I could have 3 pens. I was on my way to yoga and was dressed in gym clothes. I asked for refills explaining that I hadn't been able to find the refills anywhere else. No hello, nothing. He scooped up the pens, said "we'll see" and ducked behind a door. Three men where in the closet sized room whispering for at least five minutes. Guy finally comes out tosses my pens on the pad and begrudgingly started to get the refills. In the meantime one of the other "men in black" came out and tried to look busy while staring at my grown daughter, her baby boy and myself. I could not get out of there fast enough. NEVER. AGAIN. Now I know the refills I need I will order directly from MB. This store won't be around long. read more
