I'll be the first to state that Montana's is never my first choice when it comes to good food. However every so often I don't mind coming here as the experience is kinda cool, especially if someone's celebrating their birthday. As of the writing of this review, Montana's is having a beef brisket special, which is actually not terrible. I had their BBQ brisket sandwich, and honestly it was good. The brisket was juicy and plenty, and the Texas Bold BBQ sauce has always been consistent. Service was good here, no complaints at all. I wouldn't say no to dining here, at least the food is edible. The smoked chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, full of smoky flavor. The ribs had a tangy glaze that balanced sweetness and spice. Got the Buttermilk Chicken with veggies and mashed potatoes and it was pretty good. Environment was pretty fun and loud, and our server was really friendly. Think that this is a great place to go to for celebrations with larger groups, you can be as loud as you want and dishes are about an average of $30 per person read more

Great service,great food. Always my family's go to Montana's,after trying the others in Winnipeg,this one is the best. Started with the spinach dip,just tasty. My wife's steak was perfectly cook,she loved the onions and mushrooms.My daughter loved her kids pizza with bacon and her cotton candy drink,and the nachos were amazing as always. Very pleased with our meal here. I had a sliced beef plate. It comes with two sides and a small piece of cornbread. The beef was very thinly slice and very lean and delicious. On a trip across the Trans-Canada Highway, I stopped here for dinner. Not Bad. It was a good, filling dinner after a long day on the road. But, it was the dessert that really won me over... I was pretty shocked to find a cheesecake wrapped in a tortilla! Coming from Southern California, I was extremely skeptical about this strange use of tortillas. So I had to try the "Decadent Tortilla Cheesecake", of course. Wow... to whoever came up with this menu item... you should get a bonus. It is "4-star delicious"! I used to be a huge fan of Montana's, id even say it was my number one favourite restaurant, but my last couple experiences were completely unsatisfactory, tonight I got a steak and the kapow shrimp appetizer and the steak was definitely not 7 oz it was ridiculously small, undercooked, ice cold, and every single bite I took had some sort of gristle or sinew in it, it had absolutely no flavor. I paid 84 dollars after delivery for the steak, the appetizer, and a burger. absolutely rediculous price for what I received. I don't know if they have new chefs or owners but this last experience was enough for me to never visit, order from, or recommend their restaurant to anybody ever again, i am extremely disappointed with the quality of what I received for the price I paid. from now on I will not be going to their restaurant anymore. New management doesn't always mean good things. We have been semi-regulars at Montanas for several years now. We have over-looked the sketchy bathrooms, overall "sticky" feeling and poor quality televisions because the staff have always been welcoming and great to be around. When we heard new management was taking over, we figured ok, maybe some improvements will finally be made. Well we were wrong! Now the shabby decor is more obvious when a lot of the regular (and wonderful) staff seems to have left and the food quality has gone down. Our last meal this past weekend was served by a rather cranky waitress who forgot to put orders in, forgot about us for lengths of time while fawning over what appeared to be a boss and barely made us feel like our experience was something she cared about. The food. Wow how the quality has dropped. It was barely warm by the time she felt like serving it, the portions were noticeably smaller and my husband's steak was so overdone that he didn't finish it. My ribs were dried out and the chippers were so oily, they were limp and soft. Other guests in our group complained of barely warm food and overall dissatisfaction with food and service. Montanna bosses (but not the one wooing waitresses) I think you need to re-evaluate your new management and staff. Someone has dropped the ball in the last few months and I know we won't be returning anytime soon as a result. read more

Came here based on Yelp reviews and it was close to our hotel Hampton inn. We got the sampler for 2 and we still had alot of food even with our 2 young kids. Service was fast and friendly. Went last night (Monday) and sat in the lounge as it was half off wings night. We were greeted promptly and sat in the lounge. Hostess was pleasant. Our server was prompt. Also found out she was the bartender as well. She was nice but took awhile in taking our order and presenting the bill. The lounge was half packed so it took awhile for her to take our order. Should have had another server. Menu's were giant...almost like reading the newspaper. Too big in my opinion from their past menu which was more manageable. Wanted to wash my hands so off to the bathroom I go. The bathroom needs a serious deep cleaning and update. The faucets didn't match. Wish it was hands free operation as with current standards today. Food came at a decent time and was hot and fresh. The wings were good as usual and the Canadian burger was on par. Fries were just a bit undercooked. Overall, the experience was OK. The food is on par with similar chain restaurants. Not bad but not great. I do like their Kapow! Shrimp with the sauce on the side. Most of my trips here included their sirloin or half chicken which were both good as well. I was unimpressed with their entree salads. This place gets very busy in the evenings so expect a wait. The bar is open seating but there are usually groups of people hovering for a table opening. The staff is friendly and the management attentive. Came here with my family and friends for lunch. We waited an hour and a half for our orders to come and when they came, my steak was way over done and my daughter's steak as well. They poured the gravy into the steaks when it was supposed to be on the side and they forgot to bring the corn. My mom ordered a steak and shrimp combo, the steak was overdone and the shrimps were nowhere to be found. My friends' steaks were all over done and they put baked potatoes instead of mashed as ordered. On the positive note, the manger was very apologetic and she took care of things right away and gave us a discount for the inconvenience. I'm not sure if we will come to this place again. Over an hour to wait for our lunch. We went on Thursday for lunch. We noticed a larger group seated in side and we went to sit on the patio. A table of 6 soon also sat outside. The other table ordered their food and then we did. About 10 minutes later a table of 4 came and ordered. After about 50 minutes and no food we asked the waitress to check on our food. She came back and said 5 minutes. After 15 minutes the last table in got their food. Another 5 minutes and 4 of our 5 lunches came out, then another 5 minutes before the last one. We talked to the manager who ended up comping us the meal. This still doesn't make the experience any more enjoyable. I cannot comment on the food because I was upset over having to wait over an hour for lunch after it was ordered. By the way the first table in never did get their food while we were there. If you go you might want to ask on how long you will be waiting for your meal after it is ordered. On last thing, this is not the first time this has happened at this location. I chose this restaurant because they advertised a gluten free menu for my allergy, but when I ordered I was told that the gluten free options (I chose 2) were not gluten free. When I finally ordered a 'gluten free' option I was told that I would have to change half of the meal since it was not entirely gluten free. When my meal was brought to me it came with a sauce that I was not sure was gluten free, and only half of my meal was brought to me at the time. My server also did not make accommodations for my allergy and at the end of the meal, he brought the bill however it was 50$ more expensive than what we ordered.
