Wow I'm completely floored. Just finished a delivery they ordered for onion rings from Walmart so they can charge how much per order for those cheap onion rings. GROSS serving Walmart products as if it's your own Wow. Worst is they demand tips of 20-40% for service and don't pay tip to the DoorDash or skip the dish drivers for services rendered what the heck is that kind of crap. Boycotte restaurants like this for sure. I'll be spreading the word so harshly I don't even care. How dare u abuse someone's time and effort like that. The base pay wasn't even close to fair for the job freaking just Gross from this high end restaurant that don't believe in tipping for service done for them mind blown like seriously blown away. On May 17, 2025, a group of us (7 people) went for supper to Joey's on Kenaston. While having my meal, I ordered a sugar free cola as I am a diabetic. The restaurant was very busy that evening. I took the required amount of insulin for the meal that I ate. When I arrived home my Blood Glucose (BG) was over 20 which is a very dangerous level. The normal range is between 4-7. It was then that I realized that I was given a regular cola by mistake and not the sugar free cola that I ordered. It took many hours to finally bringing my BG down which I did by taking a great amount of insulin. I phoned the restaurant and explained what happened with the goal of letting them know to be more careful as something like this is very dangerous for a diabetic. The person answering my call apologized, took my name and number and told me that her supervisor would call me the following day. I have yet to hear from them. As I said I wanted to make them aware that something like this is very dangerous for a diabetic especially if you end up drinking more then one glass of cola. Needless to say, I am not very happy that they wouldn't even return my call. read more

We went for dinner with a small group (7). The service was slow, the food was fantastic, but small portions. We each had two drinks and half of us has either an appetizer or dessert. When we got the bill, it was almost $1100!!! They automatically add an 18% gratuity to your bill, something I feel should be earned for great service. Then when the waitress was cashing us out, she actually had the nerve to ask if we wanted to "add a tip"!! .....On top of the already added 18%. Never going there again. I love going to eat at Joey's. The food is awesome. I've tried a lot of different dishes and I have never had one that disappointed me. I recommend going happy hour between 4 and 5 PM. You get some free food and wine samples. I've never been disappointed with the service. The restaurant itself is clean and just the right lighting, you wouldn't feel out of place dressing up or just going out casual. read more

I tried ordering a meal for 6 pm pick up. So I called at 5:15 and told them I was going to pick up for 6. They told me to call back 20 min before I wanted my food to call and place the order. Ok so I did. So when I call back at 5:43 to place my order they tell me that my food will be ready in an hour for pick up. Frustrated and kind of annoyed I say ok. She asks me if I still want the order I say yes. So I hang up. My ride gets there at 6:05 and calls in about the order and she says she doesn't have the order and that she cancelled it as she thought I didn't want the order. I called and asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager on duty. She said that if I wanted to place my order now she would put a rush on it. But when I called at 5:43 she said they don't rush orders and they have no idea when they will be busy. I have never had a problem when I have eaten in there restaurants and have always been treated very well. But trying there PICK UP service was one of the most worst experiences I have had and would never recommend it. read more

Great service in a crazy time. Nice to see some staff that are well adjusted in response to Covid19. Great food and came mid afternoon and was met with no wait time for a great outdoor table. This is another chain of restaurants much like Moxie's or Earl's. I prefer this one the least because of it's sad menu and lack of creative dishes. Ahi tuna club with fries: one look at the ahi tuna and I was skeptical. It was a bad gray color that made me think food poisoning. Upon cutting it, I did notice the pink meaty center that I'm used to. I could tell this is just a frozen patty because of its cut so I knew it wasn't fresh. The onion ring and tomato relish didn't work with the tuna. They didn't compliment the main attraction. I will say on the upside, the bun was nice and soft. The service is just a-ok. They served a cool water with no ice so it tasted funny. I didn't receive any refills either. Our waitress was nice enough and friendly but it doesn't make up for the poor food and service. read more

I like how they call this place "premium casual dining." It's premium in its decor and prices but has that Moxie's and Earl's bar like feel which gives it that "casual" feel. The menu is very random as it offers Asian items like sushi, butter chicken and then things like burgers, steaks, sandwiches and salads. Nothing is specifically good as the menu tries to be all things to all people. Ahi Tuna Tacos (11.99) for 4 appetizer sized tacos with a slice of seared rare in each taco along with coleslaw and wasabi aioli. yes, it's a complete rip off for 4 really tiny pieces of seared tuna when sushi places offer up much larger portions of seared tuna for that price. I am not even sure why I'd even eat seared tuna at a place like this but it's not overly greasy and is an okay "light" tasting appetizer. The tandorori chicken flatbread (14.49) was a bit underwhelming and overpriced as there was barely any toppings on this small flatbread. I don't mind the salads here and the original hi-rise burger ($12.49) is passable at that price. The fries are really crispy and well seasoned and the burger is ok. But really, if I wanted a salad or a burger, I'd probably have a few more places above Joey's on my list. This is the type of place that's good for late night eats or if you're out with a group as it does offer a variety of items to eat and drink. The dining side is good if you want to have a conversation but the lounge side is much louder. read more

Where do I even begin? How about the fries that were cold and overly salty? Or the lobster grilled cheese sandwich - the reason why I even decided to order from this place? No matter where I start, the end result was still the same. Pure disappointment. First of all, the lobster grilled cheese sandwich I got didn't even come close to looking like what it should look like. I eat with my eyes first, and what I saw was not appealing at all. I expect the food that I get from take out to be the same as it would appear when served at a restaurant, and if it looked anything like this, then I am greatly appalled. And if the reason it is like this is simply because it's "take out" and that they don't even bother or take the effort to make it look presentable, then that is just as bad. Just from the looks of it you can tell that it's burnt and that they had randomly cut it into pieces. However, I understand that sometimes even though a food may not look appealing, there's always the possibility that it tasted amazing. My first bite was amazing, but then when I took the second bite, the third bite and so on, I just felt really gross. The amount of butter it had was just overbearing. It tasted like it was dipped in butter. The lobster grilled cheese sandwich barely had any lobster in it. It was more like a grilled cheese sandwich, and a very expensive one at that. I do not know how they could even charge us $14.99 for this (or $16.79 including tax). At that price, I expected it to have a bit more lobster than what I actually got. Overall, I would not ever eat from Joey's again, nor would I recommend anyone to go there. read more

I'm so glad we chose this place for our last meal in Winnipeg. The service was amazing, even though it weals pretty busy. We were seated quickly and our server was kind and genuine. Just ate here for the 1st time tonight (unfortunately probably for the last time) as we are from Southern California visiting the in laws for Thanksgiving. The rotisserie chicken was very tasty. One of the better chickens I've had. The wife had the same thing. We both crushed it. The mother in law had the chicken sandwich and fries. She now has lunch for the next day as well. I believe Alexandra was our server. She was on point. The whole staff was on top of it. My water never hit the bottom of the glass. When in doubt, this is the place. JOEY is the perfect place to go for a casual bite and some drinks. They have a really good selection of snacks on the menu, and I honestly can't say I've ever had something that I really didn't enjoy! A few of my favorites would be the shrimp lettuce wraps, ahi tuna tacos, and Szechuan edemame. Their new house salad is also amazing, with almonds, currents, feta, quinoa, and a dressing that is seriously out of this world. Super Novas, Super Stoked, Super Sonic... All drink specials that force me to call a taxi on many occasions. Please be clear that that is not a complaint. The atmosphere here is pretty lively, and service (although slightly odd, in that they use a "team service" model), is usually above average. One thing about JOEY is that they will go above and beyond to make sure that you leave happy; and as a patron, I think that is all you can ask for Public Service Announcement: The tagliatelle alfredo will change your life. read more

Not sure why the lukewarm reviews. In any case, I'm not from the area. My fiancee was working in town for a few months so I visited. Joey Coquitlam is our usual date-night stop so we tried this one. They don't normally take reservations but they made an exception for us because of the circumstances. When we arrived, they took special note of our reservation, seated us immediately and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Our waitress was excellent. Quick, attentive and completely on the ball. The food was as good as the other location we normally go to. It's good to see the consistency in their quality controls. My fiancee had sushi and I had steak. Both were top-notch. I would definitely recommend this place. It's certainly not cheap but if I wanted cheap, I'd go to McDonalds. :) read more

My boyfriend and I love Joeys! We have been multiple times now and the service is always fantastic. We have never had any problems. The one time we came in for their deeelicious, key lime pie they did not have it, however the manager came out and gave us a gift card for us to return next time and receive the item at no charge. Very disappointed. Ordered Steak and Sushi, food was great but the amount was equivalent to an appetizer. Did not say on menu the size of steak, it came cut up in small dish, I'm guessing about 4 ounces. And there were no accompaniments with it, just a bit of steak and a sushi roll for $30?! I have never seen such a poorly managed restaurant. 20 minutes to receive our drinks. My friend order a drink and asked to have it in a tall glass bit it came in a short glass full of ice - water down drink. Listening to your customer is super important as they are the one that are paying for your service. So I decided to go use the bathroom as we were sitting outside on there patio. I took my time and took a look around and realized how the staff was running around like chicken with their heads cut off. While others were simply visiting with friends instead of working. The manager was walking around with his pad and looked super frazzled - my suggestion is have a team meeting before opening and make sure everyone is feeling good before opening those doors. Food was good but super expensive for a salad. And i thought that because it was my son's birthday they would of had a free cake but nope had to pay for a lava cake with a single scoop of ice cream. Came here a little while ago after writing an exam. There was a group of 5 of us. The hostesses are very helpful, as we arrived in two groups. They are very accommodating and the service is fairly quick. Very busy and the noise level reflects it, but you can still hear each other at the table. I had the curry bowl, with shrimp...so good! My spouse and I arranged to meet another couple for drinks and appies on a recent Friday after work. We'd frequented this lounge last winter and thought it would be a good place to meet. The other couple weren't familiar with the location so I googled it to send them the address with the cross street and stumbled across these reviews. I was surprised and concerned since our experiences have been positive although limited to the lounge, generally during happy hour. We decided to take a chance and figured we could leave and find another spot close by if it didn't go well. We met the other couple in the parking lot and fortunately got a corner booth which allowed us to converse without the distraction of servers and patrons passing around a table. Our server was prompt, pleasant and precise. We had drinks, took our time ordering appies, had a second round of appies and one had an entree. The appies were exactly that...appetizers. We had chili chicken bites with a crispy wonton type of chip and chunks of cucumber - always a favorite. We had lettuce wraps with chicken. The lettuce was crispy, crunchy, fresh and the filling lasted till the lettuce was done. The spicy edaname beans were addictive as were the skinny fries, both of which were good enough to order a second time. They were timed to arrive with the one entree and my only complaint was that the fries were barely warm. I mentioned it to the server and she replaced them immediately with piping hot ones. Drinks were fine. Passable Red Wine and enough of a beer selection to suit our tastes. Prices seem to be about average on the appie menu. While it isn't extensive, we were satisfied. All in all, exactly what we were expecting and an enjoyable respite chatting with friends we hadn't seen in several months. read more
