For beverages we had Sangria, cream soda and a Frau Rouge. We started with the Honey Butter chips which were amazing. We also ordered the plant based polenta, Brussels with ricotta, Zaayoon soup and the walleye Mac n cheese. Everyone loved their dishes. The meat eaters thought the walleye Mac n cheese was the best. I was in love with the veggie polenta. For dessert we had the PB + Chocolate Chess Pie. Everything was delicious. We sat by the kitchen and it was amazing to see how the cooks worked in such a small space and how well they communicated with each other. The space is cozy and fun. The staff were kind and helpful. Per the ten year old: "The honey butter chips couldn't have been better. For my main meal I had the walleye Mac n cheese. It was gourmet Mac n cheese with perfectly cooked fish on top and the pasta was bathed in a wonderful herby cheese sauce. Even my dad was sneaking bites of it. The PB+Chocolate Chess Pie was in scrumptious bite size pieces, the waitress even artfully arranged the spoons. Bonus there were bathrooms. We will definitely be coming back."

My friend let me try one of his egg circle sandwich on cornbread and it was delicious. The chorizo had a spicy kick to it but the creamy sauce kept it from being too hot. While clearly a nice restaurant, the atmosphere isn't pretentious at all. It's chill, people are friendly, and I was really impressed by how calm everyone seemed in the open kitchen. The menu I guess could be described as "New Canadian", and I'd say it's got something for everyone, but is focused enough not to overwhelm. We got three of the small plates to start with and share: the focaccia, the chorizo spiced tacos, and the roasted squash gnocchi. The tacos are actually made with soy curls (a soy-based protein that actually has the texture of chicken) flavored with chorizo spices. Our meat-eating (and meat-loving) parents who usually dislike tofu and any meat alternatives actually really liked the tacos. I tried some of the mole and it was so good that I ended up pouring some of the extra on the focaccia! The focaccia itself was pillowy and perfect with a unique and delicious strawberry infused whipped butter. The gnocchi was by far my favorite dish of the night. The contrast of the pillowy gnocchi to the pumpkin seed brittle, and the sweet squash to the savory mushroom xo, all make for delight and interest in every bite. For mains, I got the coconut korma with soy curls, and my dinner buddies got the house salads (one with chicken and one with soy curls) and the linguine with spinach creme sauce. Props to the kitchen for very satisfying portions on the large plates. We were all stuffed by the end and I actually needed a bit of help at the end to finish mine. The korma was delicious, with fragrant fluffy rice and flavorful soy protein. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes, and the only downside was that we were too stuffed to try and of the desserts, which sounded amazing. I'm not that particular about service in general, but when it's good, I can definitely notice, and the service here is really, really good. Our server, Karla (or Carla?) was so attentive, so helpful, kept us well hydrated, and paced everything out perfectly. Overall, our experience here was incredibly positive and would recommend!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place was rather lively even on a Friday afternoon…read more In terms of the food we shared an order of poutine and their blackened chicken fettuccine. Poutine was decent - not the best I've had in town but not the worst. The portion was very small, and I was surprised to see it priced almost as much as an entree on the bill - they don't have it on the menu a la carte but you can upgrade a side of fries to poutine for $4. Since the pasta dish didn't normally come with fries I asked if they could just do a side of poutine and they said yes (and then charged $14 for it). It wasn't worth it. The blackened chicken fettuccine was disappointing. Our host highly recommended it, and it's a dish I generally enjoy enough I even make it at home. The blackening rub they use had almost no spice, which to me defeats part of the point of "blackened" chicken - the taste was more on the herby side. The noodles themselves were bland and the sauce was almost non-existent - sadly underseasoned. I chopped the chicken up into tiny bits and mixed it all together so that they flavors from the chicken could add at least some excitement to the pasta, but while it helped it didn't quite save the dish. Overall the experience was fairly mediocre. Maybe I should have gotten a burger, but I went with the host's recommendation instead for a dish I normally quite enjoy and came away disappointed. The price of the side of poutine is on me - I didn't ask ahead of time. But it came out to be nearly double what I'd expected for half as much as I'd thought it would be.

I haven't had one in years and was super excited about finding it on the menu. It did not disappoint! Nothing beats a good Donair . I would say fresh cut fries should be added to the menu . They make meals that much better. Also one thing I like about dinning in Canada is that so many places have fresh cut fries. All in all a good experience. Lovely staff. Good food. Good beer.

I had the seafood linguine, which came with a garlic toast. It was really good, though at a slightly elevated price. I would say for the north half of the city, this is the best upscale cuisine.
