Seasonal Meatballs
Tracy P.

Amazing!! I hear it's a new spot and I wish them tons of luck... Truth is they don't need it!! Decor is spot on. It's beautiful in air, but more importantly the food was impeccable. Combination of flavors, the temperatures the plating everything was fantastic. From the seasonal menu I really enjoyed the meatballs on the edamame hummus! I might actually go back tonight for another round of those!!

Pork Belly

The frites with duck confit was a great starter for 4, the burger and frites were delicious and filling. The pork belly was very rich, and the seared ahi and quinoa salad was tasty and refreshing. Our server Ainsley was wonderful.

Every visitor to Winnipeg should check out the patio at Gather at the Leaf (and the tropical and Mediterranean biomes inside). Great food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Blackberry and Elderflower Mule & Turkish Delight Cocktails
Vera H.

We came to eat at Gather for a lunch reservation after our excursion at the Leaf. Everything we had, from cocktails, to food, to the service was impeccable. We started with the bread service (Peppercorn Pan Bread) and the focaccia was airy and flavorful. All of our cocktails were perfect complements to the food. Our table ordered: Drinks -Not So Old Fashioned -Turkish Delight -Blackberry and Elderflower Mule Food -Classic Burger - Chicken Bahn Mi Sandwich - Coconut Curry Bowl Everyone said they would order their dishes again and left feeling very satisfied in terms of proportions. We had a little one with us and the server, Tonya, deserves a shout out for being so amazing with her. (They do have Kid's Menu for those wondering as well as high chairs and boosters.) There were some varied reviews out there given the restaurant is newer but I feel they have gotten into their groove - at least for a lovely lunch out.

"Faux gras" torchon, sour cherry, toast points, toasted cashew.

What a gem! Tucked in the Leaf Botanical garden with a very stylish interior. Innovative and fresh offerings; I sat at the bar and chose the "faux gras"torchon and the scallop / risotto, small but nice selection of NA beers...friendly service and good value.

The short rib pasta was one of the best things I ever ate. Hoping it returns on the menu

Cool bar that distills their own vodka and gin in a space from the salvaged St. Regis Hotel. The…read morespace is on Alexander where it's part lounge/bar and part distillery. It's located in a slightly quiet area but despite walking there around 9 and leaving after 11 on a Saturday night there were no issues. No coffee, wines or beers here but there are non-alcoholic drinks and of course loads of cocktails. Most cocktails are $13 and they even offer old school punch bowls (recall the ones our parents owned) except these are smaller ones and need a min of two people for $15 each. Food was just a few cheeseboards - one is a vegan cheese board too. Loved all of the cocktails we tried: - Golden bird - patent 5 vodka, apple jack, golden apple syrup, green strawberry bitters, Malic acid - espresso martini - patent 5 vodka, dogwood neon espresso and Kahlua - Long Island gimlet - patent 5 gin, rum, tequila, house cola cordial, citric acid. This was my favourite - maybe because it has a lot of liquor. Service was laid back yet helpful. Vibe was relaxed and welcoming. Just people having a cocktail and a good time. No pretension. Loved it. I will be back!

If you liked Langside Grocery, double the fun with twice the space and ten times the amount of fun…read moreand original cocktails. A beautiful space in the historic exchange warehouse district nestled into a building that's easy to miss so it gives the feeling of a speak-easy when the giant garage doors aren't open into the street. There is free street parking after 530 but it's in a very walkable neighbourhood with transit nearby. The menu of original drinks is quite extensive and surprisingly reasonably priced for such carefully crafted concoctions ($10-$15 for most drinks). This place doesn't have beer (you can get that around the corner at Nonsuch) and it doesn't have wine. All it has is beautiful cocktails and small plates of food. The atmosphere is super romantic and dark so you'll need a flashlight at night to read the menu. There's really no complaints here but just a comment about the cheeseboard. At $26 it's slightly more than what Peasant Cookery and Smith charged but still a fairly decent amount of cheese. The only thing we would change is the crostini it comes with. It almost doesn't suit the fun cocktails so it would be nice to see them replace it with something thinner and not so hard.
