Ripped for a lousy job! I will humbly ask the reader decide if moving from Irvine to Corona/Eastvale cost $2000! 10 hours job with 3 people? Had 3 bedroom furnitures, + office computer chair, desk, and entertainment room (sofa, TV) We hired them 7/10/2022 for moving. We had already boxed and packed 80% of our stuff ready and waiting for movers. When I saw movers turning screw drivers to dissemble dining furnitures, I helped them to dissemble ALL furnitures myself. (Three beds, computer desk) So now you have around 40 boxes packed, furnitures dissembled. And the folks took 5.5 hours to load the truck. Lousy and slow dragging time for their convenience. Drove 1 hour and took another 4.5 hours to unload, and we still chose to assemble our furnitures ourselves. And most of the boxes needed to be dropped in the garage. Charged double for drive time. They took 2 "overtime" hours and charged 1.5x overtime rate for them dragging - to get over time paid? Which we were not aware. If you are the owner reading this, we have been robbed by your guys. Please take some action! If you are a reader looking for their service, it's your lucky dice. If you get the same crew, you will be screwed and ripped. --- --- -- Added this section since Business owner justified rational for dragging time for charging overtime! 1. Last time hired - is for 3 people not 4 as you claim they completed in 2.5 + 2 hours. Not 7 hours you claimed. here is pic of the quote : So that's your first lie. 2. Are you the moving pros? wouldn't be your best interest to advice client on how many people needed and an estimate hours it would take to move 4 bed room based on your "experience" ? Bonus: Knowing this need neither you corrected us whether 2 people is enough, nor you suggested it will take 10 hours! And, your truck still did not fit things and left few items for us to handle. Portable heaters, fans, lights etc. Since you charge double for driving, why charging "overtime" again? Actual time guys worked were 4+4 hours. 3. Finally, do you "understand" and "listen" and "acknowledge" to what's customer is telling, than defending your act? Is that what good customer support supposed to be? 4. Our complaints are similar to many of the others you'll read here: 1) They quoted us a price for four movers, then sent a fifth one for the move, so the cost was 25% more than the quote. 2) They never wore facial coverings or attempted social distancing. They were also pretty stoned the whole time, but it didn't seem to impair their ability to load and unload a truck. The piano (see below) was trickier... 3) We didn't get the final price until all of our stuff was loaded onto the truck. This is also when they told us they would only accept CASH for the entire move "because of COVID." I had to go to two banks to pull out enough cash to cover the move (plus the tip - see below). 4) They then basically threatened us into tipping them: when five huge guys who have a truck full of all your belongings say to you (this is a direct quote), "WE CAN STILL BE FRIENDS IF YOU DON'T TIP US..." what are you going to do? 5) They couldn't figure out how to remove the legs on our piano, so we had to pay piano movers $200 to do it instead (it took them all of 10 minutes to remove the legs and load the piano). 6) They added an hour to the fee for driving and lunch, even though they didn't stop for lunch and only drove 20 minutes. To keep from being billed another $250, my wife and I had to help unload and move items for the last hour of the move. 7) Our master bed wasn't properly assembled (we found out the hard way the first night) and they never put the feet back on our living room sofa (it took us days to find them). 8) Numerous items simply didn't get moved, including our guest bedroom nightstand (one of two) and the finials on our four-poster bed. There are also electronics missing - an entire box of pretty important stuff. They were NOT left at our previous home (we checked). WHO LOSES A NIGHTSTAND? 9) My conversation with Aaron went like this: I told him what went wrong. He couldn't care less. I told him I'd write this review. He said that if I'd been nicer to him on the phone, he would consider "making things right." Instead, he said I didn't deserve this, then made a lame "flat-tire" excuse to get off the phone. He never returned my call. So we're out $250 for the extra mover, $250 for the added hour, $250 for tipping each guy $50 when they couldn't even get all of our stuff moved and put together, $200 for the piano movers, and the missing nightstand, finials, and electronics. No wonder he won't call me back. Final word: if you're flexible with the pricing, not worried about COVID, have plenty of cash at hand, don't have a piano, can assemble and find replacement parts for your furniture, and are okay if most but not all of your stuff gets moved, look no further than Monster Moving. We've hired Monster Moving for ALL of our apartment moves over the past years. They've always been consistent, on time, and work efficiently to get the move done. Moving to the third floor of an apartment complex was nothing for this team. They have a system down to bring everything from boxes, couches, to the very large and heavy Purple bed we have. The teams have always been accommodating to our needs. Three of our moves happened in the midst of COVID. Movers were respectful and wore masks. Movers also accommodated us by removing their shoes when moving a couch onto our clean livingroom carpet. We were lucky to have had Jared help us for two of our moves. He is professional, experienced and a real pleasure to work with. We were attempting to move a couch to the second floor, and during the move, he called that the couch was just too big, so we stopped the move before we damaged the walls or the couch. No company is perfect but I respect Monster Moving for always standing by their word. We once had a move scheduled for Saturday. We received confirmation emails confirming that Saturday. However one Saturday no one came. Typically we would receive a call earlier in the day to confirm when they would arrive. This Saturday, we didn't but we didn't think anything of it. We called Monster Moving asking why no one had come. Apparently they had scheduled us in the books for Sunday. We sent them the email that it was supposed to on Saturday. In about 30 minutes, they were able to assemble a team, get a back up moving truck, and the move commenced as scheduled. Wow. Please be aware of this company. We were recommended this moving service from family and had the worst experience imaginable. They said they'd call at 11am, and they didn't. We had to call many times to get a response, and finally around 1pm they said they were 15 minutes out but stopping for drinks. We assumed they meant Gatorade or water but they reeked of alcohol and weed when they showed up over 2 hours later. My mom originally wanted 2 movers, but they told her if she does 3 movers, they can move her in 3 hours instead of 4. She agreed to that. My mom told them exactly what to bring over and what to leave. They must have been too intoxicated to remember because they ended up bringing over plenty of bags of trash. It took them a ridiculous amount of time to pack up a 1 bedroom apartment with 3 people. Like 4 hours long, with multiple very long breaks where they would disappear. It took them about 45 minutes to unload everything and set up the furniture. They also said it took them an hour to drive there, so they charge double for that. 2 hour charge to drive from HB to Irvine? 25 minutes at most. I'm assuming they smoked/drank on the way too because again, the house smelled strongly of weed/alcohol when they started coming through. NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING. When we were told the total price, $1100, we were shocked. My mom tried to get the price break down from them because the price did not match up with the service. He became extremely hostile and started yelling at her "who the f*** do you think you are stupid b****??" And she ultimately gave him the money because she was terrified of him. My sister told one of the guys they reeked of alcohol and weed, and he told her that the house already smelled like alcohol. Well considering she's 7 months pregnant and no one else drinks, that was a lie. He called her a "f***ing alcoholic dumb b****" and flipped us all off while driving away. I have never experienced such an unprofessional and disrespectful service before. Also, our refrigerator shelves are all broken now. They put everything in the living room despite them being clearly labeled where to. I have quite experience in moving and relocating so the process of moving is nothing new. Monster Moving is probably one of the better moving companies that I've used in Southern California. I called them a week in advance to schedule a weekend move. They did not take an initial deposit so I requested a confirmation email. The customer service representative took my information and said she would send me a confirmation email shortly after. After an hour, I called back to let them know I didn't receive the e-mail. They corrected my e-mail and I received the email within a few minutes. Upon verifying the information sent via email, I did notice that the address of the from location was incorrect. I replied via email with the correct address and they responded with confirmation of the updated address. On the day of the move, we received a call 1 hour in advance from the driver to verify the address again because he was given the wrong address, same address that I originally corrected. No problem though- I appreciated him being proactive. Driver Steve and Josa arrived a little before 8 am and I briefly ley him know what we were taking. He gave me a breakdown of the costs and process. After that the two men started loading. These guys are fast! Once they were done, we confirmed the address to the new location and left. Google estimate is 4.2 miles with an estimated time of 10 - 15 minutes from point A to B. The double drive time totaled to 1 hour. In case you are not familiar, be advised that it is by law to double drive time so technically the drive from point A to B was 30 minutes. They did need to drive up a gradual incline and my educated guess was that the driver was being considerate toward the items that he wad transporting. I would very much appreciate someone take their time and ensure the safety of themselves, others, and of course the items they were in possession. Unloading was also fast!!! They made sure to ask where items were to be placed. Installation of the fridge was fast. Might I note that I was able to leave my items in the fridge Because they wrapped it up. There was no damage to any of our items or property at either location. Although there was a slight mishap with the address, everything was great. Just make sure you confirm with email and verify the information you provide. All the initial information was transferred over the phone and mistakes happpen! Steve made sure that he received the correct address by calling me in advance. Steve and Josa were fast, efficient, and professional movers. I don't know if it is possible, but if you can ask for specific movers, I recommend those guys! They are the best movers I've had so far. I hope that I don't have to move anytime soon, but when I do, I'd use Monster Moving again. read more

This was my first experience using a moving service and I've got to say, I'm now a believer. Monster Moving's prices are more than fair, practically a steal. The woman who answered the phone was so nice and helpful. I was given an estimate and the timeframe and soon after the call ended she emailed me all the information to confirm. Day of, I got a call saying that my movers (Jeff and Tre) are running early and asked if it's okay if they start early. HECK YES! I decided to use Monster Moving after a colleague of mine referenced them. The best word to describe these guys is "Professionals". They moved at a fast pace and did not waste time at all, even though they're paid by the hour. They know exactly what they're doing with packing and protecting my furniture and boxes. They worked well together as a team when moving things around my house, lots of communication between them which led to no furniture ever touching my walls, door frames, etc. Brought all the tools they needed, and the tools were in good working condition and clean. No hidden costs or anything, and the price was awesome. As far as the people themselves: they're clean, so I didn't have to worry about dirt on my walls and floors; they speak english so no translators needed and no frustrating language barrier; they're extremely nice people and were very accommodating. We moved from Lake Forest to North San Diego last weekend. The guys showed up on time, were very friendly and professional, and loaded up quickly. However, it went downhill from there. First, the leadman was saying that tips are expected since they don't get paid very much. It seems to me that he should take that up with Monster Movers since we pay a handsome amount for their service. Then, there was something wrong with their truck and they were held up at the county checkpoint for several hours while a mechanic come out and fix the issue. Then it took them 2.75 hours to get to our new house due to traffic so we were charged for 5.5 hour at $160 an hour for the drive time. We were not charged for the time to get the truck repaired, but it significantly delayed the timing of the move and it stung to pay $880 just for the drive time for 65 miles. They started at 8am, left Lake Forest at 11am got to San Diego at 5pm and didn't get done unloading until 8:30pm. For the unloading, there were many boxes that were put in the wrong room. We had boxes that were labeled master bedroom (upstairs) delivered in the kitchen which is by the entry way. For the assembling, our kids bunk bed we loosely assembled and was wobbly. The headboard on our bed was not attached to the frame. At one point, they lost a dolly and blamed it on the garage repair man that was working on our garage door. There were big dramas and hunt for the dolly. They threatened to call the police and to press charges against the garage repairman. I believe we were charged for that time as well. They claim that there is no hidden cost but we found a few. The quoted $160 an hour for 4 guys is the cash price. You have to pay 5% extra for credit card. There was a $70 fuel charge. We also had to pay an extra $30 for fuel because there were 4 guys and only 3 can go in the truck. Plus they want you to tip the guys, so tack on another 5%-10%. We ended up paying a total of $2300 to move a 1800 sqft house with minimal boxes and furnitures. 3 weeks after moving in, we realized that our kids' top bunk bed was not secured to the bottom bunk at all. They just set the top bunk on top of the posts for the bottom bunk. I don't know what the movers did with the screws after they disassembled the bunk bed. This is a huge safety risk. If you care about your kids safety, don't book these guys. read more

I used Monster over a month ago to put all our household into storage units and they were great: showed up on time (early) worked hard all day and earned the lunch I bought plus tip. FYI, they can only be tipped in cash since they are not allowed to add a tip to a credit card so be prepared. So, when it was time to move all our stuff OUT of storage to a new place in Temecula I called Aaron again to schedule the move and ask for the same crew who did the first job, plus on extra guy for a total of three. First words out of Aaron's mouth when I said we were moving to Temecula was, "That's far."....um, ooookkkaaay. I asked, isn't that in your service area? He said yes. I had Jack and Corey last time and asked for them again, plus Ruben. Again, Aaron gets this tone in his voice like "wtf why don't you ask for me?" Apparently he is the owner but is clueless about customer service and dealing with people on the phone. More on that later. I booked the date and I did get a call the day before confirming. A note here: since the report time is 8am I would prefer a confirmation call by 8am the day before, or even 48 hours before. I got a bit nervous the first time that they might have forgotten about me. Ruben, Corey and Jack worked their asses off as I knew they would, I even had to beg them to take a 5 minute break....twice! They are fast on getting stuff off the truck and slow down when it counts, namely moving wide furniture or appliances through doorways and halls. I couldn't find a nicked wall or door frame anywhere in the house after they were done. Yeah, these guys are professional and the price is more than fair. Don't believe it? Get a quote from Mayflower, Allied or any of the big name companies and compare. When it was time for them to call in the credit card info so I could pay my bill, Aaron was not answering his phone on several attempts. When he did finally answer the phone he said, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!?" Jack told him a customer would like to pay his bill. This was my first time hiring movers. They came as a reccomendation from a colleague at work ( used them twice). I moved from HB to Aliso. My A team for the day was Gary, Ruben and Todd. The office called to confirm my move a couple days before, night before and the Team called in the morning to confirm they were on the way. These guys worked hard and were gracious and patient. We moved half a house and then drove over to my storage unit and helped me sort through boxes. At the house they put it all back together. I will be a repeat customer. Guys worked really hard, especially Sean, Todd, Jeremy, until they sweat were streaming down their faces. Josh wasn't so great but they replaced him with Jeremy in the afternoon which more than made up for it. Gary was experienced and managed the entire moving process. He stacked all my items very neatly and organized and maximized the entire cargo space very well. He also billed for reasonable hours. From 3200SF to 4300SF and a whole household of things, they completed the move in 11.5 hours. They were really experienced movers and flawlessly moved my grand piano without any problems. They were also very professional and courteous. In the last two hours, I had to take off to coordinate the cleaning in the old house and was not there to supervise, so the moving boxes were left stacked in garage or living room floor, instead of going to the right places, even though the boxes had labels. I would suggest that someone be there to direct them at the new home where to put the moved items, otherwise, the items will be left in places or moved to the wrong rooms, which is really not their fault. Another tip will be to make sure you have lids for all your boxes. One of my boxes had no lid and when Todd put it on the garage rack, the heavy items came out and fell on his head. I felt so bad and kept asking him if he was ok and if he should rest. Thank God, his head was not hurt. He continued to work hard moving even after such painful trauma to his head without any complaint. I highly recommend this team. They work practically seven days a week, day after day in moving. So they are very strong and coordinated. I was very thankful I had such an experienced crew for this difficult day of move. For such hard work, I did provide water, pizza lunch, and paid high tips for their dedicated efforts. Cash only, check not allowed. Credit card will be 5% more. This was my first moving company experience. I did not want to hire movers for concern of my antique furniture.I should have shopped around more. I had a small load and only five pieces of furniture and they broke my grandma's antique tea cart. I told them my furniture was antique and my greatest concern was my great-grandmother's rocking chair which thankfully was not broken but the guy about dropped it when he was going to take it down to load it as it was on top of a pile of boxes on the dolly. He didn't give me a copy of the paper contract he took a picture of it with his phone and send it to me. The salesman gives you one quote but when the movers come it could be more money. And they push back the time, they didn't get there till 8:00 at night to pick up. then when they delivered, again were pushing back the time and went to the wrong address in another town and didn't get here till 10:00 at night and the driver could hardly speak English he had a friend with him to interpret. They don't explain things on the contract or inventory list to you.when you sign their contract you have to sign it before they load or unload when they deliver that everything's good. Thankfully I read what I was signing and it said except what's on the inventory list which made me think okay so you should write something on there, so I did that. And all the guys says is file a claim. So now I'm in that process and they're wanting front and back of the paperwork and I'm like they didn't give me front and back all I got was email or a phone picture. Plus your furniture is delivered from your first delivery choice date, not the day they pick it up. so I had them pick it up a week early thinking I can get it right away when I got there but then it was two weeks later. We used Monster Moving for our home move from a 3 story townhouse to a 2 story home. They were prompt on arrival but that was about it. I used this company because I used them for the office buildings I manage and have referred them out to people in the past, that will not happen again! They used a large dolly to move boxes down from the third floor on our hardwood stairs and pulled off three of the stairs nosing. They didn't even say anything and I saw it walking up the stairs with the stair nosing siting on the side of the stairs! They said it was not a big deal, which it was as the home was sold. They offered to glue it with gorilla glue, WTF, and were very rude and intimidating about it. I had my husband come home immediately to help handle the situation and when he asked to talk to the manager the mover said the number is on the side of the truck, rude! When he spoke to the manager who offered to comp $50 off the bill, our contractor charged us $120 and they would not cover it. They also wanted to unload and drop our items in the middle of the move on the street and go to another job. I hired movers to help and have a less stressful move and that is the last thing I got. We had to watch every single thing to make sure there was no more damage. They seemed very put off that they had to go up and down stairs but isn't that what you hire a moving company for? They need some classes in customer service, or need to switch professions. read more

Not only did they agree to this (which was a result of our poor planning) they only added $15 on to the original quote to do it. I have been meaning to write this review forever but just now got around to it. I have used them twice, and both times stellar job! Showed up on time, got the work done, polite and courteous. Jack and crew were great. The only one thing I would say is they told me at the start of the second time they take tips, which I didn't like asking for a tip ahead of time, but maybe a ton of people don't tip. The movers arrived early which was great. We had trouble using our gate code at the storage unit and the guys were so helpful and nice about the problem - they ended up having to carry things from our storage unit to the moving truck after not being able to drive up due to our gate code not working. I felt awful but they both reassured me it was fine. Once we got to the apartment they asked where to put things and we're so friendly. I would highly recommend Monster Movers for any moving needs. Excellent rates, friendly service, and zero hassle. The movers who helped me- I believe their names were Jack and Charlie- kept me up to date on their arrival time, made sure that I knew everything I needed to know about moving, and moved my furniture quickly with no damage. I really appreciated the fact that they didn't draw the move out, and that they made sure that everything was how I wanted it.
