This was the best car buying experience Ive ever had. It doesn't matter if you're buying from out-of-state, in town or moving, they'll give you a very fair price. There's no haggling and it's a very easy experience that becomes fun. While all the staff appear to be great, Tim Bortmes is who I'd recommend you ping if you're interested in a KIA. He used to work for Mercedes and will get you a car quickly, cheaply and it's fun. The dealership is small and family-owned, which is why they aren't open on Sundays but they're good to their staff. They give you free car washes and the first oil change is free and they do all of KIA's warranty and service needs. They also own the Jeep dealership just down the way, which you might accidentally think is the KIA one you're first time. They can get inventory from other places quickly though, and you'll find most of the KIA's come feature rich, so you don't have the stress of trying to get a set of things from different packages or spending vastly more to get one thing. In my case, I got a better color, alloy wheels and something else for only a $1k more by getting the next trim model; which aren't all tens of thousands apart. So while the base models of everything are feature rich if you don't like the color, you can typically get a different trim model and in my case the wheels alone cost more than the $1k difference for the next trim model. KIA has taken a lot of the stress out of buying a car and they offer a 100k mile warranty, so you don't need to feel pressured to get a service contract, however you can add them later, which some dealerships generally don't do. I studied several negative reviews since I'm on the Elite Squad and they are either not genuine issues or are old. They're very nice folks, which is not allways the case with other dealerships. Another big thing is they have honest pricing and don't upsell things like documentation fees. You'll only pay the bare minimum for registration and taxes in your state, which they have to collect at purchase if you're considering a transfer tag. In the end, I paid less than the invoice price and got a very good deal. If you aren't paying cash, one thing I'd recommend from observing some folks the day I bought my car was to get prequalified and see where your credit score is; don't decide to try and buy a new car while getting an oil change or for your kid on a whim. Then you can quickly compare what you've found and they have. I saw some folks try this and they always have good deals on the cars, but they don't have infinite salespeople, so it's kind of frustrating for others and it takes a joyous experience and makes it potentially unpleasant. I'm surprised KIA hasn't sent any kind of survey, but they'd be happy to know that Tim Bortmes and Jeff (the GM) gave me the easiest and funnest experience I've ever had. Many of the folks who work here you'd be happy if they were your neighbor. I haven't had service yet so I can't speak to some of the negative reviews but I have seen the service teams vary greatly at dealerships over the years, so if they had bad folks for a while trying to upsell stuff you don't need, they might not be there anymore. Sometimes having a GM change fixes that too, but I find some of the negative posts a little hard to believe for the present day. I also heard a rumor a customer damaged their car by doing something foolish in the car wash and then wrongly accused them of breaking their car, so that may be why they wash it for you (just my guess) and an example that sometimes a few dishonest people are sometimes culprit. A few of the folks in 2021 and 2022 with negative reviews it seems like it would have been fixed if they talked to the GM, at least the one they have now I'm sure. read more

Bought a 2019 Kia sorento- new to me- the process itself wasn't painful. Price was right. I needed to replace the vintage van I was driving before going to the beach. It was "just serviced". While driving to the beach today'- in Philadelphia- we had to pull over on the main highway as another driver was kind enough to honk at us to tell us our wheel looked like it was going to fall off. When it was checked, the roadside assistant asked me if I just had my tires rotated as ALL the Lug nuts are loose. Service department was quick to respond and did offer free oil change. My partner and I were in the market for a new vehicle, so we went to Monroeville to shop around at the various dealerships on William Penn Highway. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted, so we figured that this would be a good idea. We quickly realized our salesperson didn't know much about their used selection, which wasn't many cars. We bought a brand new Kia here and got the extended "wrap" warranty. The car has been stalling lately at random--while we're driving, the engine will just suddenly go off. This is a huge problem, it's very dangerous and we drive our grandkids in this car. We brought it in to the Monroeville dealership garage, and they kept the car for six days and finally called us to say that there was nothing wrong with it. When pressed, they said that whats they had done in six days was to drive it twice and check the computer. I guess with these "mechanics" if the computer says it's fine, IT'S FINE. I had my car in for an oil change. Everything was ok. The best part of bringing my car there is the waiting room. I got an email to write a review so I gave an honest one. The service manager was not happy with what I had to say so he emailed me and instead of asking "what can we do to improve" he proceeds to tell me " maybe another service center could meet your expectations". Went to look at cars here a month or so ago and it was a nightmare. For starters the sales person had an attitude and felt we couldn't afford the car. He also didn't know anything about it and the test drive part was so awkward. Next, when it came to the best part, pricing, we said what we were looking for and what kind of car we were going to trade in. The sales person laughed and said not to listen to online sites, the price I was hoping wouldn't happen. Then, here was the best part, the monthly we were hoping, another laugh and he said "what's more money a month anyway? We got our precise numbers on trade and base price at another lot within an hour -- because they were politely communicating with us WHILE Rick Thomas blew a sale with poor form. We eventually got generally waived to a desk -- no coffee, no water, no small talk. Oh...don't allow them to schedule your lease buyout on a Saturday. They'll tell you that they don't do lease buyouts on Saturdays after you already scheduled it on a Saturday with one of their employees and showed up for that reason! They harass you with calls months before your lease ends, but the minute you need them it's impossible to get a hold of someone. If you are in the market for a car, particularly a Mazda or Kia, I would strongly suggest that you look elsewhere. I did plenty of research before even hitting dealership lots. I priced out options on the Kia main website, checked Kelley Blue Book's current information for invoice prices that customers have been paying over the past 6 months, and looked at the prices on the websites of countless dealerships in a 100 mile radius area. So, when I started my car search here I didn't expect to find the worst kind of ridiculous monkey business in the sales staff. I had already had my trade-in appraised and knew to expect to be offered about 60% of that value. They offered around 30%. The base price for the vehicle (before taxes, etc) was over $1500 more than the MSRP listed on the US Kia website and the salesperson couldn't account for that price. During negotiations the salesman did the thing of calling his manager and getting in a roe and going over and talking to him for awhile and coming back like he had been fighting for us with his manager. It is such a dramatic embarrassment to their credit. I'm serious about cars--they are a big deal and a big purchase. I firmly believe that you shouldn't have to put up with the nonsense of a guy who just wants to get your commission and doesn't care about what fits you as the buyer. The phrase, "What can I do to get you to buy this car tonight?" is frankly pathetic but was unfortunately uttered. The only thing I enjoyed about this experience is that my husband and I both found out that we negotiate like Jack Donaghy of 30ROCK. We bent on nothing and we were just short of peeling a satsuma and asking the sales guy, "Whatcha gonna do?" (a la episode "Its never too late for now"). Not one salesman came out to greet us. We went inside to find a Optima as there was only one outside. Once inside we found another Optima. There were three salesman standing around talking to each other and couldn't be bothered with helping us. We were ignored for at least twenty more minutes. I guess you have to flag a salesman done now for help. I then asked the receptionist for a Optima brochure and left. No one ever asked to help us. Brought my Optima in for it's annual service and traded it in for a Sportage. What can I say about the Sportage? It's excellent AWD in the snow and this southern gal loves the way the car handles -- much better choice than the Optima, which is sporty but doesn't do well in the snow. Staff in the service department are very cordial and have answered all of our questions. On the last visit, which was the first oil change, I FINALLY got my car washed! Lost A Nine Year Customer I'm not sure what has happened with the customer service aspect of this dealership but I'm done dealing with these people. I scheduled an appointment on August 1, 2020 for a state inspection that I failed on July 31, 2020. The appointment was today, August 28, 2020. I arrived 5 minutes early and was told that they did not have inspection stickers and that the wait would be a half hour longer. I was immediately understanding because this pandemic is reeking havoc on EVERYONE. But what I didn't understand was why I didn't receive a courtesy phone call letting me know this was the case before I drove 30 minutes to get here (a customer sitting in the lounge said she received a phone call last night telling her that they were out of inspection stickers). I make my way into the customer lounge and 10 minutes later, an unpleasant and unprofessional service tech came and told me that they were out of inspection stickers and handed me back my keys (as if to say, 'See you later"). I couldn't understand why this was happening, especially since I had already been told this and had decided to wait. I was upset by this interaction and asked to speak with a manager. The manager arrived and said they would do the inspection but that it would take a few hours. I told him that I had already been told that but where did the miscommunication happen with him and the service tech? He said he didn't know and that he would check. He also said that the dealership ordered inspection stickers from the state three weeks ago but they never arrived. I understood that because who knows what is going on with the state at this point but what about the follow-up? What about the customer service? Apparently, they have to drive my car down the street to the Monroeville Dodge, and use their inspection stickers. What a disorganized mess! I understand this pandemic is taking its toll on businesses and employees but it can't be the reason for EVERYTHING! Poor customer service; its the pandemic. Three hour wait; its the pandemic. No hand soap in the bathroom; its the pandemic. No inspection stickers; its the pandemic. After I leave today, I will not be returning. Word of mouth is THE MOST POWERFUL marketing tool there is; maybe one day they'll understand. UPDATE: service manager Matt heard my concerns and resolved the issue completely. read more

This will be my first time writing a yelp review which is evidence enough to how frustrated I am with this company. I bought a vehicle from them back in January and did not receive the spare keys due to "one of the drivers taking the keys home with him". I was informed that I would get a call when the keys are back at the dealer. I waited and waited.. and then Covid happens. During the yellow phase in Pittsburgh, I call about my spare keys and informed that my keys are lost and they will get me situated with a new pair... more waiting... then I call a month later and I'm informed that the service member I spoke with is no longer there and there is no documentation of getting a spare key prepared for me. The new service member I talk to informs me he will get me situated with a new spare key and will get back to me on when to come in.. MORE waiting.. another month or so goes by and I call and informed yet again that this individual is also no longer at the company. Finally, I am able to to talk to someone and schedule to get my spare keys 2 weeks later which is today. I go in, and informed that I can get a free inspection but also discussed that checking the brakes will cost some money and I needed a tire rotation. I ask for the free inspection and the tire rotation only which will be approx. around 20 bucks. As I wait, I am approached by the garage service manager who tells me that there are no records of them getting approval for free spare keys that was promised to me so I have to go on the other end of the building to talk to sales to get this straightened out. Finally, at the end of this I get my spare key but end up paying for not only the tire rotation but also for the brake inspection which ended up at 62.46. I wasn't even planning on getting any of this done! I just wanted my spare keys and to be done without paying a dime since they were responsible for losing my keys in the first place. I will say the service members were patient with me as my one pro for them, but this was ridiculous. I will not be returning. read more

I bought my Sorrento there 5 years ago and have never gone anywhere else for service. I've been loyal and have trusted their advice and counsel. Recently, my car had issues and was going into "safe mode" while driving. I took it there and it was supposedly fixed once. The same thing happened a second time, a few weeks later. This is where my complaint begins. I had to have the car towed there, so I called Kia to let them know it was coming. The woman who answered the phone was rude - not showing any empathy for me standing on the side of the road waiting for a tow - and just rudely told me it couldn't be looked at for at least a week. Fine. I had to still get it there! No one called to tell me it arrived or give me any sort of check in on the service, even though they would clearly have been able to see I was JUST there for the same issue. When someone (Jeremy) finally called me, he was rude as well to start. To his credit, Jeremy and I talked through the issues and it was much better. He actually came around to helping me as he realized that even though it needed to be fixed again (it was a different issue and I wasn't arguing with that issue at all) that I had already paid for one piece of the fix in the original service, so he could discount me this (I had already paid for it so it's hardly a discount!) This would mean about $200 off a $1500 fix overall. Pretty expensive, but I was fine. When I went to pick it up, Jason was there and the price quoted to me by Jeremy was not being recognized. Jason said he knew nothing about it and called Jeremy - who then told Jason he didn't remember telling me this. (it was 4 days prior and the only excuse I got was that they "talk to a lot of people." Jason would not recognize the discount and there was basically nothing I could do. I am done with this place. This is what 5 years of loyalty gets you. I'll find somewhere else to service my car. Where do I begin.... I took my Mom in last Friday afternoon to turn in her lease and it seemed like no one knew what to do. The receptionist told who I'm guessing the manager who didn't move from his desk and he sent out a salesman to "help" us. He took my Mom's registration card and told us he will not give it back or the license plate. We were so uncomfortable and felt very disrespected. After we left I called to speak to someone because they took her license plate cover and I was hung up on multiple times as was my husband. The sales guy seemed like a good guy, but the sales manager (BJ) ruined it for him. They refused to honor the $189/mo. lease offer (with $1999 down) from KIA and tried to read the offer to me in a way that made it sound like I needed to put more than that down. Unfortunately for them, I could add and all of the other numbers added up to $1999. So the offer is $1999 down, $189 a month. They couldn't get anywhere near that, and then blamed my trade, which they were definitely lowballing. Also, the sales manager shook only my husband's hand and tried to speak only to him, which is a huge mistake when you have no idea who the negotiator in the family is (surpise, it's me!) He also accused us of not being serious because we came from the Buick dealership that same day. We owned a 2011 Kia Soul previously, so it just happened to be next in line after we didn't love Buick's lease offers on the Encore. Another big mistake, because the last thing you should be doing is accusing your customers of doing something bad by shopping around. Needless to say, we will not be buying anything from this dealership, ever. Update: We went with the Encore and love it! Update: This place called me daily for a month.
