We had very high hopes for our experience with CarShop, especially because everything started off so well when we purchased our vehicle. Unfortunately, about three weeks after purchasing it, everything seemed to go downhill. We started noticing that the car wasn't running smoothly and eventually got to the point where we genuinely did not feel safe driving it. It was also failing to do basic things properly, which led us to contact CarShop and bring the vehicle back on Monday, July 13th. When we dropped it off, we were told, "You probably won't hear anything until Wednesday, July 15th." However, the following day we received a call from a woman telling us that our car needed to be sent to Chevy because there was a recall on it. This was extremely frustrating because NOT ONCE during the purchasing process were we informed that there was a recall involving the transmission. To our knowledge, the vehicle was sent to Chevy on either Tuesday the 14th or Wednesday the 15th. From that point forward, communication was extremely disappointing. We were never told which Chevy dealership our car was sent to, we received little to no updates unless we called ourselves, and we were given very little information about what was actually happening with our vehicle or when we could expect it back. About a week later, we called asking for an update and again received very little information. We also made sure to let them know that we would be leaving to go out of town on July 31st. We were told, "Oh, it shouldn't take any longer than two weeks." Throughout the following weeks, we called multiple times trying to get updates and continued reminding everyone we spoke with that we were leaving town. Then, on July 30th, we received a phone call saying that the rental car we had been given had been sold and needed to be replaced. They did come to us and exchange the rental, which we appreciated, but the overall situation was already frustrating considering we had been without the vehicle we had JUST purchased for over two weeks with very little communication. On the morning of July 31st, I called around 8 a.m. because I needed to get something out of our car before leaving town. Instead of simply telling us where our vehicle was located, someone was sent to go get the EZ pass for us. Again, while we appreciated them doing that, it was frustrating that we still weren't being told where our own vehicle was or what was happening with it. I specifically explained that we would not be home after 12 noon that day and that if the vehicle was finished after that point, it would have to sit there for over a week until we returned. After weeks of waiting and calling for updates, we received a call around 4 p.m. THAT SAME DAY saying the vehicle was finally finished. We also later found out that additional issues occurred while the vehicle was being repaired, which we were not informed about until after the fact when WE OURSELVES read the maintenance reports. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. We understand that recalls and repairs happen, and some things may be outside of CarShop's control. However, communication and transparency are absolutely within their control. We should have been informed about the recall from the beginning, told where our vehicle was being sent, updated throughout the repair process, and notified about additional issues as they happened. After having such a positive experience initially, we are extremely disappointed with how everything was handled once problems arose with the vehicle. read more

Simply stand by your own policies. The first thing highlighted on the CarShop website is that certified vehicles will have no dents, dings, or scratches. We initially viewed the vehicle on Monday and scheduled pickup for Friday evening with the clear expectation that all visible scratches would be addressed before delivery. When we arrived, none of the scratches had been repaired, and the vehicle appeared poorly prepared. It was barely washed, with visible water spots, mud splatters and dirt buildup in the wheel wells. We were then told we would receive an IOU for the scratch repairs. During a more thorough inspection, we discovered additional issues, including chipped paint on the front bumper and a significant depression with a crack in the grille. I requested that the grille be replaced as part of the IOU. The sales manager stated they would attempt a repair but would not replace it, noting the grille costs approximately $1,000. When I asked for a $1,000 price reduction instead, since the issue would effectively become my responsibility, I was told, "We don't negotiate pricing." Ultimately, we chose not to purchase the vehicle due to a lack of confidence that any commitments, particularly future warranty-related repairs would be honored. With the extended warranty, this would have been a long-term relationship over the course of 10 years or 100,000 miles, and trust is essential. The only reason this review is not lower is because there was no issue receiving our $500 deposit refund. read more

I'm not sure where to begin, but I went to this location to get a trade-in offer on my newer vehicle, the trading was fair so I thought I was off to a good experience, but then everything went south. I came back a couple days later for a vehicle to look at from another location, but it wasn't there. I was promised that it was being brought over, I had to wait a few hours for them to transport the vehicle from one location to theirs. When arrived the car was extremely filthy dirty and every which way, I test drove the vehicle and I liked it, but they had a lot to live up to so i came back another day to view the car again after they cleaned it, but to my surprise, it was a very poor job of cleaning, the vehicle was also missing the floor mats and a key fob which they told me was my responsibility so i'm out $500 to get all original stuff that should've been with the vehicle. Once getting the car home, I noticed there was a major scratch on the back left corner and the windshield wipers did not work, They were falling out of the wiper arms so then another trip half hour away to get the vehicle repaired and the wipers replaced with the correct ones, and they also said they would detail the vehicle well once again they were slop inside. To top it off I was to get a refund, two weeks later never received it. I called them up. It was never taken care of $625 is a little chunk of change to me so they promised to get it mailed out right away here it's been another week and no check. Now having the vehicle for a few weeks I'm still finding issues with it. This should've been taken care of for a car a year old and only 10,000 miles. It seems like all they care about is flipping cars and making money and not really giving people the service that they deserve. read more

They won't move $1 on the price of the vehicle which was only classified as "fair" deal. Then they want to rip you off on the car you are trading in only give $2,000 for a car that has nothing wrong with it other than age. Other dealers offered at least $3,000 sometimes $4,000. I have previously bought from a carshop in a different area and always had a great experience. I choose to go here to test drive things because they have always been so nice and obviously don't work on commission so there's no pressure to buy after test driving. This was not the case at this location. I felt rushed, the man "helping" started out by talking prices, trade ins, etc. when I clearly stated that I was not there to buy today, just test drive a few things I had seen and possibly others that may be comparable, he took it as a challenge which is almost word for word what he said to me. I told him what I came specifically to test drive, he went off pricing which I know I can't afford at this very moment and said well how about this other car instead. I drove it just because why not, maybe I'd like it. I got back and he said did you want to test anything else?.... Yes, the car I came to test that's currently slightly out of budget.... I mentioned a few other cars as well, I came back from the test drive I went in for and he again tries to rush me out even though I'd mentioned some other cars and reiterated that I wanted to test other said cars. Overall, this guy was looking to make a sale and instead of possibly getting a customer in the future, I won't be returning to this location and if I do I will request someone other than this salesman even knowing he doesn't make commission. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I received a quote for my car online which listed the Kelley blue book pricing. Within 10 minutes, I received an email directly from the sales agent Jamie that said due to market demands, they were prepared to offer over KBB pricing. So, I booked an appointment, and drove over 30 miles to this location (having to borrow a second car from a friend). The offer came in $2,000 BELOW the lowest price of the KBB range. The car is less than two years old and has under 15,000 miles on it, no accidents, no damage, it's in brand new condition. If you're looking for the best offer and ethical practices, go somewhere else. read more

I really hope this helps someone out there. I bought a car for my son for his first car. I wanted something safe and reliable and obviously I wanted something that was not previously wrecked. I was between 3 cars and asked the salesman if any of these cars have been wrecked or damaged before. He relied "No we don't even sell cars like that". Well that was an outright lie. I went to service the car at a dealership after purchasing and low and behold it was wrecked before. This is absolutely disgusting. If you think Car Shop is any different than any used car lot, its not. They are the same as the used car lot you see along the road here in Pittsburgh. At least those lots are honest about it. I guess they think that since the make fancy commercials, websites, and advertisements it makes them different but they are not different than any other used car lot. They lie, they talk over you and they do anything to get the sale. Mike the manager was of no help when I spoke to him. He just kept repeating himself. BUYER BEWARE. Found a vehicle here we wanted to purchase. Listed as a new arrival - on a Monday we called to confirm availability and wanted to come view/purchase. We were told we couldn't because the boss took it and was using as his personal vehicle and he wouldn't be Back until Wednesday and we could come then. We made the appointment, took off work, drove the hour drive to our appt and were told- sorry , we aren't sure what happened, it sold on Mon or Tues- we aren't sure. But, wanted to know if there was anything else they could interest us in/ show us while we were there- are you kidding me, not a snowball's chance in hell.... In theory, I like the concept of Car Sense -- large lot of used cars from various brands at no haggle prices with additional warranties. However, my personal experience here was not impressive. I made an appointment to test drive a BMW 3 Series in August. I work about 15 minutes away in Warrendale and decided to check the car out over my lunch break. I made the appointment online and was promptly contacted by a sales associate telling me that he would be helping me with the car. I arrived on time, talked with a woman at the front desk, and met the sales guy. I then proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. I expected the car to be ready for me to test drive since I had made the appointment a day or two earlier... but that was not the case. Finally, 20 minutes later, the car was pulled up front for me to drive. I was told that the car had recently arrived from another Car Sense which is why it had not been detailed. But... you knew that I was arriving to test drive the car for at least 24 hours... why wasn't it cleaned up beforehand?! To my surprise, I was sent off with the car on a solo test drive, the first time that I had done this by myself. I had never been in this part of town before, so I asked him where I should test drive and only got a vague, unhelpful response... to just drive north on the main road and then make a u-turn at a gas station. I mean, I'm test driving a BMW, I was hoping for a more fun test drive experience than just going up and back down a straight road. While on the test drive, I could not get the advertised backup camera to work. I was so desperate that I even called my girlfriend that owns a 5 Series BMW to help me, but between the two of us, we could not get the backup camera (if there was indeed one on the vehicle) to work. I returned to the dealership as I had been told to park the vehicle in visitor parking and then return the plate to the front desk. I completed this task (which I had never before been given tasks to complete as a customer at a dealership) and my sales guy was nowhere to be found. So I left the license plate on the front desk and walked out. I never heard back from anyone outside of their generic form letter email response. Just a completely underwhelming test drive experience. I wouldn't recommend Car Sense to anyone. read more

He comes back 30 minutes later and throws a offer of $30,000 on the table! What?! (Btw my car is in utterly perfect condition. Flawless.) Dishonest, Misleading, Unpleasant. Originally I did a request online, and got constant emails, phone calls, and even texts to come in and test drive. They are very responsive when they want your money. I wanted a specific car. Black exterior with black interior. I test drove the same make and model of a car, however it was blue. I said to the salesperson "I wish you had this car in black." His response "We have this exact car in black in philly, we can transfer it to you" There was no pictures of the car in their system. I said, are you sure this is the exact same car, just in black. "Yes" I was told. I paid $195 to transfer the car which would be waived when purchased. 5 days later I get a call and text saying the car was ready. I then go to pick up my car and its black... with tan interior. I told carsense "This is not the car I wanted, I was very specific to be black interior with black exterior." I was never shown pictures prior to transferring the car. I did not want a tan interior. I was then offered to buy a car that was $5000 more or get the blue car that I originally test drove. They would not refund me my money. I paid to have a black car with black exterior... they sent me a tan one. I reached out by email and even sent them an invoice with no response. How ironic when I was first looking my phone and email was blowing up, but then when they made a mistake and would not correct it, they go silent. I even emailed the salesperson a link to a car at a competitor's site saying this is the car I want. Nothing. Just out $195. Very dishonest people, I took a $195 test drive. Never Again read more

My name is Regis Windisch and I just recently purchased my 3rd car from Carshop. I just want to express my sincere gratitude to Nathan Archer (my sales representative) for such excellent service in all transactions involved in purchasing my car (a 2019 Toyota C-HR XLE). From start to finish Nathan explained everything in detail to me and patiently answered all my questions in a very professional manner so that I fully understood the sale of the car, warranty, Carshop service, and the optional Allstate Protection Plan offered. Which I decided to purchase because I had that plan on other cars that I purchased at Carshop. A very fine protection plan. During the test drive of the car, I noticed the car's Owner's manual was not in the glove box and a couple nicks on the car that needed touched up. . I brought that to Nathan's attention and he responded" no problem" and retrieved me a Owner's manual the very next day after I picked up my car. The day I picked up my car, the nicks were touch up and the car was immaculate both inside and out. The inside was sanitized and covered with plastic. The car looked brand new. Nathan even took his time to help me set up the Bluetooth phone connection in my car and explained to me the working's of some of the optional features that came with the car. He made sure I was completely satisfied with the car before I drove it off the lot. I rate Nathan an excellent car salesman and for making my car purchase a very pleasant and rewarding experience. He goes to great lengths to satisfy his customers. i highly recommend him as I do all the sales reps, and the excellent service department (especially Randy) for the excellent service that I have received over the years on the other cars i have purchased at Carshop.. They all make you feel like a friend and family member while there. I highly recommend Carshop to all my friends, family, and others. A truly excellent company to deal with. I live in the Washington DC area, and was looking for a particular late model used car with low miles in order to save some money over buying new. Carsense Cranberry had the vehicle I was looking for, so I made the 4 hour journey. The car was just as advertised, and they also gave me a very good deal on my trade. Brittany and Ray were very helpful. The one knock I have is that the paperwork takes a while; however eventually everything gets done. I think overall the people at Carsense are honest, and I would recommend them to friends. read more

I took my mother's Mercedes C300 to the Cranberry Township location to be valued at the request of her estate attorney. I had checked the car's value on their website, so I asked for the guy (Rob K) who reached out to me after seeing my search. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what. But I got the impression that I was being treated in a very perfunctory way. He handed me a form to fill out, which most of it I couldn't because it wasn't my car. He went outside to look at the car, after a brief period of time, he came back in, went upstairs to his office, came back down, handed me a copy of the form and said $10,000 and walked away. I thought fine, since this was $1,000 less than the offer from We Buy Cars (who were way more professional and pleasant and thorough in looking over the car). I also looked the paper and saw that the noted "an accident on CarFax." I was not aware of an accident and he didn't even bother to explain the offer to me. When I got out to the parking lot, the car was not in the spot where I parked it. I went back in had Rob paged. When he came down, I told him the car wasn't in the spot where I had parked it. He waved that it was further up in the lot. He didn't walk out and show me or even walk to the door and point to it. Just waved me off. Like I said, I don't know if he was having a bad day, but he made me feel like I was an imposition. I went back to We Buy Any Car and through the estate executor and attorney sealed the deal there. read more

The level of incompetence of this location is infuriating and caused us to have to travel back and forth to this location three times. We called once to ask how to reach leadership above the store level and were told that they do not have contact information. I called again and was given the voicemail of the GM. I bought my pregnant 20 year old daughter a car here. The car buying experience was just fine. But she kept having to sink money into her brakes. The mechanic told her the brake caliper was 30 degrees out of alignment due to the fact she declined to have the brake fluid flushed. What nonsense. The last time the air conditioner drain hose mysteriously came unplugged dumping water into the car's floor. Carsense wanted $120 to do a diagnostic. Since we found out they will not return any phone calls. Buyer beware. :( read more

I have bought a few cars from Car sense and they have been an easy experience (car buying can be stressing to sat the least). I went to the Cranberry Township location and when I walked in I was greeted by Andy. He was very polite and non-threatening. Before I went I did a lot of research online (I love www.cars.com). I went to the location and told them what cars I wanted to see and they brought them up very quickly. I was not familiar with the Cranberry area so, I wanted Andy to go along on the test ride. He went without me and explained the features of the car as we drove. When we returned he had another client to attend to so, I went to the kiosk they have and found another car that I wanted to see. Another sales person asked me if I needed help and I asked to see the car at which point he went out in the rain to retrieve it for me. At no time did anyone treat me without respect and all of the employees were very respectful and they all said hello when I passed them. I did not interact with the service dept so, I can not rate their service at this time. The only negative thing I have to say about the Cranberry location is that they don't provide free refreshments as does their Robinson Township location. I would return to purchase a vehicle from Car sense again. read more

Very disappointed in the service department. Nickle and dime rip off seems to me. I bought the car from Car sense, two thousand miles later on the car, I needed to replace the brake pads and rotors on the rear of the vehicle (2015 Nissan Altima). This seemed outlandish to me as the dealership is supposed to inspect the vehicle before selling the car. So, OK I suck it up, pay over $400 to get the work done. 2 months later I have to return for the brakes to be inspected as it had a grinding sound. Come to find out the dealership will not offer to replace the brakes or rotor I just had put on 2 months ago, and the one rotor is completely gone on the vehicle. So now they want another $400+ to replace the brakes, rotors and the caliper. The caliper seized, curious if it was due to their lack of ability to properly apply the brakes and rotors?? This caused the rotor to be completely eaten right off the car. And of course there is no corporate phone # to call to voice my frustration. So, here I am on here telling my story. I refused to have to repay for the work to be performed yet again 2 months later. They of course charged me $50 to inspect the brake job they did 2 months ago. Pitiful!! I took the car home, with no rotor on the vehicle. Did some pricing and see that I can get all the parts for just under $200. Really car Sense, you have very poor quality customer service. read more
