I would not recommend Cochran Volkswagen North Hills to any female seeking warranty service…read more The windshield wipers on my 2024 Taos were malfunctioning and would activate while the switch was OFF, even when there was no rain. At my initial visit, I was told they were "working as designed". At another visit, I was told the problem was caused by my EZPass. It ultimately took six visits, extensive documentation, and considerable persistence before the issue was properly addressed when VW issued Service Bulletin 94-26-01, documenting a "ghost operation," which was my exact problem. What was particularly troubling was how I was treated while trying to have a legitimate warranty concern addressed. During one visit, the technician asked if I was a "girly girl" who applied makeup, brushed her hair, and sprayed products in the car. He stated that "girls do what girls do" and that products will "jack up" the steering column and cause issues. These gender based assumptions further delayed the diagnosis of a legitimate warranty claim. Instead of focusing on the mechanical problem I was reporting, the technician shifted the focus to stereotypical assumptions about my behavior as a woman and suggested that I was potentially responsible for the malfunction. This experience was further compounded when, after the fix was finally applied, I discovered a dent and scratch on the driver's side that had not been present when I dropped off the vehicle. I notified the service director, who stated they would "air" on the side of taking responsibility and did arrange repairs. I am sharing this experience because I believe customers, particularly women bringing legitimate warranty concerns to this dealership, deserve to be taken seriously, treated professionally, and have their concerns evaluated without gender-based assumptions. The problem with my car was real. Volkswagen ultimately documented the exact defect. The way I was treated while trying to get it addressed was the part I should not have had to experience.

I took my car in for service, inspection, and an oil change on a Friday. The shop recommended…read moreadditional maintenance, including new tires and brakes, bringing the estimated total to about $3,600. They told me they'd prefer the car to stay because the cords were showing on the inside sidewall of the tire and said the new tires wouldn't arrive until Wednesday. They gave me a loner car in the meantime. Thankfully the tires arrived sooner and I got my car back on Monday. When I picked up my vehicle, the final bill was about $4,600 almost $1,000 more than the original estimate. There was no prior notice of these additional charges. They linked them to the original service request. After driving the car less than five miles home, mostly through a 35 mph zone, I parked it in my garage. The next day, when replacing my EZ-Pass, I noticed a significant chip in the windshield on the passenger side. I contacted the service center within 23 hours of pickup, but they refused to take responsibility, hiding behind the excuse that it had been off their lot for over 24 hours. Instead, they told me to file a claim with my own insurance. Beware of this shop. They inflate prices without warning and refuse to take responsibility for damage that happens under their watch. Their dishonesty and lack of accountability make it clear they do not value their customers. If you care about fair pricing, transparency, and the safety of your vehicle, take your business elsewhere.

They would contact me when parts were in (April 2021). Fast forward 18 months later and still no call from the Wrong Buick in Wexford Pa and a new safety recall card arrived. So, I called 1-800 Buick and they hooked me up with North Star who stated they would also call when parts were in. North Star called 2 days later and car was in 3 days after that and repaired. They have serviced my car over the past 5+ years. I know she's in good hands with them! (This is the only place I take my car other than the dealer.) The only "complaint" is that the loaner car may be dirty or in need of service. I'm just thankful they have the option of a loaner car so I can still get things done. Their turn around times are usually pretty quick, so I never use their car long anyway.

The bumper was duct taped on to prevent it from falling off, and our inspection was due this month. The trucking company has been ignoring all attempts to reach them. I was told to swing by the day before to talk to Justin, the service foreman, to determine if anything can be done as a stopgap until repairs can be made. Justin came up with a game plan, but he knew he'd be off the when I brought the car in, so he talked to Robert and some other guys who were on that day about the game plan. They agreed that bolting the bumper to the frame would keep it secure and follow inspection requirements. When I showed up to get the work done, Noah was looped into the plan, and the 3 of those guys literally saved my sanity and ability for my daughter and me to get to work while our insurance company now battles with the trucking company. Robert was the guy who made the repair that allowed them to proceed with the inspection. After 11 days of getting ignored and being given the run around by Western Express trucking, I seriously could have hugged all 3 of them and when they lent a hand. My husband and I have always had excellent service from your dealership, but these 3 men went above and beyond yesterday at a time of great need, and I can't thank them enough.

If they ever contact me, I'll update with what they were willing to do or make it right. If they can convince me of some integrity I might even delete the review. Edit: they eventually did call back. My wife took the car in to address the safety issues they failed to either own or remedy. Within 1 mile of leaving the service department, my wife driving noticed the hood of the car undulating at 40mph. Take your car somewhere else! Same as Mike E's posts. Work claimed to be done was never done…read more Parts not ordered timely (I ended up having to order them), in my opinion-invoice churning and more. After having my '62 Corvette worked on by Fort Pitt Classic Cars and having many positive interactions with the owner, Ron Libengood and his team, I found a '58 Continental that I had Fort Pitt inspect prior to purchase to see if it was a good candidate for a complete restoration. I was told by Fort Pitt that the rust was likely only surface rust and it would be a quick and relatively inexpensive restoration. Well after almost 4 years it was neither quick nor cost effective. There were some unexpected things that no one could have predicted, but I put put my trust in Fort Pitt Classic Cars and Ron Libengood to restore my car the right way from start to end. Unfortunately that trust was misplaced and I feel that Fort Pitt Classic Cars and Ron Libengood took advantage of my trust.....I do not restore cars and hired who I thought were experienced professionals (experts) and relied on their expertise to complete my project the correct way from state to finish in a professional manner to industry standards- I was paying for a "cruise quality" restoration. Check out the contract (attached)- when invoices are payable upon receipt and if not paid, work is stopped on your car. My contract clearly states 125% for materials, but I was charged 130%. First, there are over 30 cars at any time getting "restored" at Fort Pitt and their project management is lackluster at best. Many cars at the same stage seem to create log jams and very long waits to get work completed. I found I had to wait unreasonably long times to get to the "next stage" of my restoration and I always seemed to have charges popping at for "earlier stage" work. 11/14/19 - I was billed $160.50 for a vehicle assessment, which I paid on upon receipt - on 12/19/19 I was given an estimate of $17,888.26 to restore the mechanical portion of my vehicle. On 2/17/2020 I was given an estimate for a total restoration- mechanical/body/upholstery of $58,008. Work commenced on my vehicle in March of 2020. Due to covid delays, turnover, not being able to find parts, etc. this project took almost 4 years. I finally pulled my vehicle from Fort Pitt after over 3 years of them "restoring" it- they did body work and mechanical only and I ended up paying over $130,000 for their "work" and considerable out of pocket expense for parts I sourced myself. We had numerous conversations about cost containment to no avail. Even after the cost containment conversations they they decided to tell me that there we thousands of hours where I was not charged their $5/hr shop supply fee. I told them I was unwilling to pay this charge, however the owner fought to make me pay this but eventually gave me a "credit" for this amount- it was their oversight! I instructed them from the onset of the project not to do anything with the windshield wiper/spray system as this was going to be a CA car- I told this to the body shop crew, the mechanical crew and sales crew. I was still charged for this and when I brought it to the owner's attention I was told their policy was to comply with PA State law/inspections and I would be charged as this was their "policy". I explained to him, I told him, his sales manager, body employee and mechanical employee that I told everyone this from the onset of the project, this was going to be a California car and I would expect them to do what their clients want. Our contract clearly states they will charge 125% for materials, and they charged 130%. They did not source most parts- I had to source them myself and have them sent to Fort Pitt. They never actually fixed/restored most of the issues with my car. They were unable to diagnose most things and even when they did their diagnosis was incorrect or their fix was incorrect and the issues had to be re-worked multiple times, clearly churning my bill. I was also charged 3 hours labor- over $300 for labeling an inoperable parking brake and putting it in the trunk of my vehicle. I told them I would pay 5 minutes for this but was still billed for 18 minutes. Fort Pitt unable to fabricate door gaskets but I was still charged for this work- and they were available for purchase (attached). I told them not to do anything with the power antenna but work was still performed on this (I told mechanical shop and body shop). Also door gaskets unsuccessfully fabricated by Fort Pitt, however I was charged and I did find them for sale and we used those. Lots more to be upset about, check out the pictures and my google review- take your care elsewhere!
