Purchased used vehicle and returned it 4 days later and voided the sale. This is my first review and I'm writing it on behalf of my parents as they were the ones who actually purchased the vehicle. My hope is that if someone is looking to purchase this same vehicle, they see this review first to see how shady of a dealership this is and to avoid this particular vehicle. Purchased a used 2016 Lincoln MKX Reserve (vin: 2LMTJ8LR4GBL39646) from this dealer on a recent Saturday. Low miles (18k range), still had a few months of original warranty left and somewhat decent deal. Two days after the vehicle was purchased my folks stopped over so i could see it. Really nice car inside & out, few scratches here and there but to be expected on 2 year old car. On the back seat was a small plastic piece of duct that turned out to be removed from under the passenger seat. I look at this and as i reach under the carpet, its soaking wet. I then find more wetness in the foot rest area of passenger side front. My folks contact the dealership and mention this and no one there has any knowledge of this and are all shocked. Another 2 days goes by until the General Manager is finally available. He denies any knowledge of this as well and agrees to void the sale and return my parents trade-in to them. Fast forward to this weekend where on a whim i decide to lookup the car fax. The dealership showed my parents a carfax that conveniently stopped at the date of 10/14/2018. Well as you'll see in the attached pictures, the current carfax has additional info, namely the entry on 11/15/2018 (Body water leak checked - while the vehicle was in possession of Day Ford) and as you'll see in the picture the car was immediately offered back up for sale on 3/21/2019 (one day after being turned in). I hope someone sees this and the other reviews i posted and does not get scammed into buying this vehicle. Thanks for reading

I purchased a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander from Spitzer Toyota (Monroeville, PA), and…read moreunfortunately, my ownership experience has been plagued by significant safety recalls, mechanical failures, and frustrating service hurdles. While the vehicle has potential, the reliability and initial customer support have been far below Toyota's reputation. Major Issues Encountered: Safety Recalls: Shortly after purchase, the vehicle was hit with the June 2024 side curtain airbag recall. Knowing that safety features might not deploy correctly in a brand-new family SUV is deeply concerning. Drivetrain & Electronic Glitches: I experienced persistent noise and vibration from the front CV joints/axles. Initially, the service department dismissed my concerns, claiming the vehicle was "fine." It was only after I insisted on a ride-along with a technician that they finally acknowledged the technical failure. It took several appointments to get this "annoying" and "noisy" issue resolved. Hybrid Battery Failure: My wife was driving when the dashboard lit up with every conceivable warning (Engine, Transmission, Airbags, Toyota Safety Sense). The car entered "limp mode," refusing to go over 30 mph. Toyota kept the car for an entire month to replace the hybrid battery chip. While a loaner was provided, a total battery system failure on a new vehicle is unacceptable. Power Liftgate Malfunction: Most recently, the trunk sensor has failed. The liftgate opens electronically but refuses to close via the button. Because it is a power system, closing it manually is difficult and counterintuitive. Driving Dynamics: The driving experience is significantly less refined than other Toyota models I've driven. Specifically, the braking system is not very responsive compared to the regular Highlander or the Toyota Venza. It lacks the "bite" you expect in a large SUV. Furthermore, you cannot drive this vehicle aggressively; it feels less comfortable and less satisfactory in its handling than the standard Highlander. Verdict: Between the mechanical defects and the initial struggle to have my concerns taken seriously by the service team, I cannot recommend the 2024 Grand Highlander. For a vehicle at this price point, I expected much higher quality control and a more proactive service experience.

There's no haggling and it's a very easy experience that becomes fun. While all the staff appear to be great, Tim Bortmes is who I'd recommend you ping if you're interested in a KIA. He used to work for Mercedes and will get you a car quickly, cheaply and it's fun. The dealership is small and family-owned, which is why they aren't open on Sundays but they're good to their staff. They give you free car washes and the first oil change is free and they do all of KIA's warranty and service needs. They also own the Jeep dealership just down the way, which you might accidentally think is the KIA one you're first time. They can get inventory from other places quickly though, and you'll find most of the KIA's come feature rich, so you don't have the stress of trying to get a set of things from different packages or spending vastly more to get one thing. In my case, I got a better color, alloy wheels and something else for only a $1k more by getting the next trim model; which aren't all tens of thousands apart. So while the base models of everything are feature rich if you don't like the color, you can typically get a different trim model and in my case the wheels alone cost more than the $1k difference for the next trim model. KIA has taken a lot of the stress out of buying a car and they offer a 100k mile warranty, so you don't need to feel pressured to get a service contract, however you can add them later, which some dealerships generally don't do. I studied several negative reviews since I'm on the Elite Squad and they are either not genuine issues or are old. They're very nice folks, which is not allways the case with other dealerships. Another big thing is they have honest pricing and don't upsell things like documentation fees. You'll only pay the bare minimum for registration and taxes in your state, which they have to collect at purchase if you're considering a transfer tag. In the end, I paid less than the invoice price and got a very good deal. If you aren't paying cash, one thing I'd recommend from observing some folks the day I bought my car was to get prequalified and see where your credit score is; don't decide to try and buy a new car while getting an oil change or for your kid on a whim. Then you can quickly compare what you've found and they have. I saw some folks try this and they always have good deals on the cars, but they don't have infinite salespeople, so it's kind of frustrating for others and it takes a joyous experience and makes it potentially unpleasant. I'm surprised KIA hasn't sent any kind of survey, but they'd be happy to know that Tim Bortmes and Jeff (the GM) gave me the easiest and funnest experience I've ever had. Many of the folks who work here you'd be happy if they were your neighbor. I haven't had service yet so I can't speak to some of the negative reviews but I have seen the service teams vary greatly at dealerships over the years, so if they had bad folks for a while trying to upsell stuff you don't need, they might not be there anymore. Sometimes having a GM change fixes that too, but I find some of the negative posts a little hard to believe for the present day. I also heard a rumor a customer damaged their car by doing something foolish in the car wash and then wrongly accused them of breaking their car, so that may be why they wash it for you (just my guess) and an example that sometimes a few dishonest people are sometimes culprit. A few of the folks in 2021 and 2022 with negative reviews it seems like it would have been fixed if they talked to the GM, at least the one they have now I'm sure.

When we returned from our test drive, my husband and I were able to privately talk things over without any pressure to buy from the staff. After some discussion, we decided to purchase the car. TJ and his manager, whose name I didn't catch, were able to work with us to get the car for a price that was within our budget. The dealership was exceedingly busy last night, for one reason or another. My daughter bought a 2000 Kia Optima the end of September 2024. The finance person sold us an…read moreextended warranty from the "reliable" company they use called EasyCare. I had to fully purchase the warranty up front, which I did for 5 years. Within 2 months lights came on in the vehicle and my daughter took it to a Kia dealer where she was in college. The dealer told her that there was zero oil in the vehicle which is very strange and performed an oil change. We contacted Cochran about the issue and they refused to fix the issue or take a look at the vehicle. We continued to monitor the oil and got regular oil changes as required by the warranty company. In August of 2025, as my daughter was on her way back to college, her car started smoking and we had to take it to have it assessed. The bill to fix the oil issue then had moved to an issue with the engine. We submitted the bill to the warranty company and they would not cover it after repeatedly submitting oil change receipts with details. It didn't matter that we changed the oil according to their requirements they still denied the claim stating that the prior owner likely did not change it according to their requirements. I had to pay over $4k out of pocket in less than a year to have the engine replaced. At that time, I opted to cancel the extended warranty after learning from that dealership that Easycare rarely accepts claims, she had battled them on many occasions and rarely has good news for customers on their claims. I called Cochran and worked with Mike the finance person on my warranty cancelation. I explained to him that I paid in full for it and that the refund for the balance of the warranty should go directly to me, not to the balance of the car loan that is in my daughter's name. He explained that it would take up to 90 days for the refund. I called and followed up a few times and he told me it was in process. After 3 months, he stopped following up with me. I found out that the refund was put into my daughter's balance of her car loan instead of sent to me. I am owed an explanation - not only did I pay in full up front for this warranty, they would not fix an issue that arose within 2 months of having the vehicle, the warranty company would not accept the claim, so I'm out a lot of money to have it fixed and then on canceling the warranty, they did not refund me - they refunded my daughter by taking it from the balance of her loan. To boot, nobody at Cochran Mazda is providing me with any explanation of why this happened and why they are not responding to my emails or calls over the last 5 months. I've emailed and called Mike asking for an explanation, given him plenty of time to get back to me. I've called the other finance manager Tony - but his voicemail inbox is full. I've messaged them on their website and was told someone would get back to me ASAP - have not heard from anyone.
