But they have prepared foods and a fryer so you can get a fish dinner, salmon, cakes, and a plethora of incredibly fresh seafood option. I'm sitting here waiting for them to fry my one piece fish dinner. Salivating the entire time and just admiring how much seafood is right in front of me. And the management is so delightful. I'm so impressed. This shop makes me want to move to Monroe Oh my goodness. A footnote: all the sweet treats like the baklava and the Halva are made by the owners relatives. I want to say that this is the best fish place in the state of Ct. Any review under five stars must be attributed to the previous owner. He goes down to the Fulton fish market and is getting the best fish anywhere. He has fresh Alaskan salmon among other things. And his coconut shrimp is so good. And on top of it all he's such a nice guy. And it's a small family business too. Monroe fish market is a great spot for fresh fish and even prepared meals. The lobster rolls are $10.00. Are they the best lobster rolls I have ever eaten? No. But they sure did hit the spot and fulfill my craving. The soft shell crab sandwich comes fried. I should have asked- I like them sautéed not fried. My fault for not asking. The stuffed shrimp were absolutely delicious. 375 for 15 minutes and done to perfection! The seaweed salad amazing and the dolmas good too! The lump crab cakes were tasty. They do have sushi grade tuna and salmon for sushi making at home- we have to to try that now that I know they have it. It's a fantastic local fish market for sure. read more

Hello everyone, I've been coming to the Monroe Fish market since he took it over from the previous owners. The current owner has worked hard to make this business what it is today. The fish is fresh! The to go items are great. He has hot soups there daily as well. His staff and their customer service is fantastic. If you haven't been you need to go and try it and if you used to go here when the previous owner had it, you need to go back now and retry it, you won't be disappointed. read more

Monroe Fish market is still good and I occasionally eat here or actually more accurately I get it to go! But the quality isn't as good as it used to be. Last time I ordered from here I had a crab sandwich and it was a little for lack of a better word-- fishy tasting. When I first came here it was finger licking good! While I would not give them a five anymore, I still think they have tasty food but it's not a must go for me anymore though that could change. The food still taste fresh and they have a nice variety of seafood offerings. I may have just gotten them on a bad day the last time or two. I also need to try other things here because my experience is really limited to the crab sandwich and the fried clams. It's good to have a seafood place in Monroe is it really is tough to find that type of food here. I would give them a 3.5 out of five stars. read more

Great customer service, very clean, and a great selection of seafood. I try to patronize this business weekly. It never smells of old fish. The seafood is so delicious. I especially like to purchase the coconut shrimp and then air fry them at home for a quick dinner on hectic days. They usually add a free lemon to your order or a dipping sauce for the shrimp. First time here as I happened to be in the area. I ordered 2 swordfish steaks, frozen soft shell crab and a pound of steamers. I immediately knew something was wrong on the way home bc my car was smellllly. When I got home to inspect I discovered the steamers were mostly dead. No movement to the touch, smelled really bad and floating when I put them in water. I get 1-2 might be bad but I would say half or a little more than half we're definitely rotten. The swordfish seems fine but I've seen fresher at the grocery store and the crab is a bit freezer burned. Reviews look generally good on here so maybe this is because it's been slow with Covid but I would definitely check before consuming. read more

We have been coming here for years & have enjoyed the shrimp, lobster salad & whole belly clams, their cocktail sauce has quite a bite to it! Today we ordered fried whole clams. Picked up an order on Friday after ash Wednesday. Got home opened up packages And found both our orders cut in half. Ordered the combo dinners. Menu said two of each item scallops,shrimp,stuffed clam,fish, clam bellies, fries. Got one of each. One fied clam strip, and really just a pinch of fries. Yesterday, my wife and I, based on reading a few reviews decide a lobster roll and fries would hit the spot. I went in the store, ordered 2 lobster rolls and fries, paid and waited in the car. It wasn't long before we received our food and drove away. Upon opening the boxes I immediately noticed the fries were missing. I opened the foil wrap to find a soggy bun with what seemed like old lobster consisting of mostly leg meat. It even had a grayish color to it.
