Eddie and his wonderful team catered our wedding. Planning a wedding ranks up there as one life's great stressors. Throughout the entire experience, we always felt like we were in good hands, all the way from planning to execution. Eddie was attentive to and followed through on the touches that made the wedding our own, whilst also offering practical suggestions along the way. And of course, the food was delicious, and the portions generous. Thank you, Eddie and team! read more

Best butcher shop in Connecticut! If you are planning a special occasion, there is great variety and Prime's friendly staff can guide you in your selection. I am not a good cook but they provide helpful tips on how to cook steak, etc. I also like that they have pre-made items, helping reduce the weekday grind. If you have the same cut from here and Stop&Shop, you can taste the difference. 5 stars for Prime Butcher Shop. read more

A worthy splurge -- destination butcher shop. A little tricky to find, located in a group of strip malls outside the town center. The highlight for us was two American wagyu ribeyes - pricey, but among the best examples of this product I have tried. In many ways, these were more enjoyable than A5 Wagyu - about as fatty as you would want your beef. Having blown the budget on the wagyu, we went to the less expensive side of the counter for our other proteins, picking up some tasty chicken sausages and some fine ground beef. We enjoyed a nice piece of salmon from the fish market, as well as two stuffies. These were very good. On the way out, grabbed a little Solo cup of their seasoned salt, which will enhance any steak. read more

One of the best things about Ridgefield. While many stores and establishments in town trade in mediocrity, Ridgefield Prime is a standout, with high quality meats and seafood, as well as fresh prepared dishes and a knowledgeable counter staff. read more

I think that they don't respect their customers. Prime is their name, prime are their prices, but sub-prime are their products. I recently purchased chicken cutletsbut when I went to cook them found mis is-sharpen mangy pieces. Yesterday, I purchased mussels. Surprised that they weren't on ice, Looked good but when I went to cook them, found many with broken shells. And they were old , dried out, and tiny inside. Their business model of having high school kids instead of professional may be part of the problem.. but their product needs to be elevated. Whole Foods or Caraluzzi is a better choice. read more

The meat and fish are always fresh and delicious. The staff always ready to help. There is nothing they cannot find for us. And of course Eddie, always there to keep and eye on everything and always happy to see us! These guys are the best. Not only do they have the freshest, highest quality meats, fish, and poultry, but they have a lot of great prepared meals and other fine products. But above all, they make going to their store a very enjoyable experience. Without fail, I am recognized right away by name and no matter how busy they are, always get personal attention without a long wait. Last week when I was paying, my purse hit a bottle of olive oil on the shelf which broke and made a giant mess on the floor. Smiling, they would not let me pay and told me it happened all the time, not to worry. These are the reasons their customers continue to return. Thanks, guys!!! read more

One of the remaining quality butcher shops. Good selection. Good service. A worthy addition to the local shopping options.

It's hard to believe no one has reviewed Ridgefield Prime, as this place is always busy and has become a mainstay for anyone looking for quality meats in Ridgefield! I have prepared many a meal featuring their wonderful assortment of meats and seafood and have never been disappointed. However, in my opinion what makes this place so unique and wonderful is their assortment of house-made items including lunch meats, pasta dishes and sausages (chicken/spinach, hot & sweet Italian). Ridgefield Prime has become a staple in our house and it seems we can't go a week without stopping by. read more

We went to Ridgefield Prime to buy some meat rubs and sauces and before we could leave, Ed introduces himself and chatted us up. We started to talk about cooking meats and college football. I agree with Virginia! How has this place not been reviewed yet?!? They are great. Quality and big variety of meats, poultry, and seafood as well as made to go items. (Marinated items as well - making it easy when you have to throw something together quick.) They have a great staff and always greet you with a smiling face and very accommodating. I have been coming here for 5 years now and I have never ever been dissatisfied! If they don't have it - they will order it for you. Also around the holidays or BBQ season when we do bulk orders we have never had a problem. In fact as I write this I am on my way out the door to go pick up something for dinner... read more
