Overall a positive experience. Even though they could not fix the car, they admitted so after spending about 15 minutes trying to diagnose the problem, and they did NOT charge for the diagnosis. They did not have a computer for our make/model, but Anthony was honest and gave his best estimate of the source/cause of the problem. he was young, but knowledgable. MOST IMPORTANTLY, he admitted what he did not know instead of trying to BS us! As others have commented the call center # to get an appointment is based out of Singapore which is crazy and the operators are so out of touch with American habits, but make an appointment and then go directly. I had an appointment at 10:30 am and was on time. It was 15 minutes before anyone cam into the office to address me. I was told it would take "about an hour" to put on my road tires. I let them know I'd be across the street and to please call or text when the car was ready. An hour later I hadn't heard from them, so walked back over and they hadn't even looked at my car yet. They weren't considerate enough to even notify me. They then said it would be "another hour, and we are taking it right now." An hour later I called to see if it was done and they put me on hold for 15 minutes and never answered. Then when I arrived I was told it would "be another 15 minutes." 25 minutes later the car was done. Two Hours and 30 minutes for what I was told would be a one hour visit. 1. It is simple consideration to tell the truth about timing so people can plan their day. 2. It would have been simple consideration to have called me about the delay. 3. It would have been simple consideration to have answered the phone instead of leaving me on hold 15 minutes. When I mentioned these things the answer I got was a shrug and "Well, it's that time of year." What time of year? Apparently the time of year to disregard customers. The prices and work are decent. Tony the head Manager is great, his workers employees and mechanists are quick, reliable, and I never leave disappointed or digging for dirt in my pockets. I appreciate that they respect my choice of personal parts and that they are reasonable about personal parts instead of trying to increase labor costs to make up for lack of upselling store parts. I went to Monroe based on high review ratings. Turns out they pay customers for good reviews. I made an appointment on a Monday for Tuesday service. Dropped the car off on Tuesday. Wednesday I stopped in (it's impossible to get someone on the phone) and they didn't even know the car was there and said they had no record of an appointment. Nonetheless, they said they'd get to it by the end of the week. On Thursday they told me what the repairs were and how much it would cost, and again committed to getting it done by 2PM Friday. At 10AM Friday we stopped in, and they said it was very unlikely they can get it done by end-of-day. They finally did get to it and the work was adequate. But the stress their lack of management caused us was considerable. I can't recommend them. read more

I had new brakes installed on my Toyota tacoma truck. When I picked it up the braking is funky but since I had no time to return back to Monroe I drove home. I realized something was very wrong and decided it had to be towed to Toyota dealership. They discovered the following The front right brake caliper falling off One caliper bolt was missing and another bolt half way out. They do very sloppy work and didn't road test it to see if every think was working. Go somewhere else. read more

Welp they quoted me 70 bucks for oil change on the phone and then charged me 110. When i told them what happened they didn't care and charged me 110 anyways. What they didn't know is i went there for the price. Jiffy lube was charging 86 bucks and i decided to wait a week for the cheaper price at Monroe just to screw myself. Won't go back.. need to have a set price or write down your customer quotes otherwise people cant plan thier financial decisions or trust you. Don't go here. I was in for an oil change and asked them to rotate the tires. The next day I see that the tires haven't been rotated, I have an odd set of tires that I just bought a few months ago so I know 100% they didn't rotate them.. I call the manager at the store and he could care less. Oh, that's too bad, hey we're sorry that happened, oh wow he shoulda rotated those tires, none of that. When I say I don't feel like burning gas and taking 90 minutes to go get my free tire rotation that I should have gotten when the oil was changed and that this is bad customer service the manager hangs up on me. Do not trust this business for any mechanical work and repairs. They will lie about finding problems and defective parts and look for ways to get the most money out of you. I'm a senior and have always been very knowledgeable about auto mechanics and used to do many basic repairs myself. For the past few months, before I stopped at Monro's in Lenox, I knew that I had some problems with my work minivan's rear shock absorbers and possibly other suspension parts. I already had an appointment with my regular "real" mechanic to do the repairs. One day, since they weren't busy, I decided to stop by Monro's only to have them look over the suspension on my work minivan for any loose parts, as I started hearing a new noise when driving over bumps. I had no intention of having them do any repairs. So, not knowing that I'm very knowledgeable about auto mechanics and only use reputable mechanics to do any major work on my vehicles, they tried to scam me and I caught them in lies about worn and broken suspension parts on my work minivan, plus they gave me an outrageous estimate of over $2200 for repairs, most of which were not needed. For their inspection results, they were only right about my rear shocks being shot, which I had told them about. They claimed that besides that, my front struts were shot, one front wheel bearing was bad, and a rear coil spring was broken. They never even noticed that the sway bar links were worn out. About the broken spring, they tried playing that very old trick on me where they bring out a 4-inch piece of a broken coil spring, put it on the counter in front of you, and claim that it came from your car. By the way, a broken coil spring is so rare on street vehicles that it's almost unheard of. I'm glad to say that my mechanic later confirmed that the rear coil springs were in great condition. About the bad front wheel bearing, the guy was speechless when I told him that both front bearings were replaced 3 weeks ago. As to the front struts, they are getting worn out but do not need replacing right away. Anyway, I had already decided several years ago after catching them in a lie, that I would never go to Monro's for anything other than basic products and services such as oil changes, tires, lights, batteries, wipers, etc. They can't lie much with these types of services, but they will try selling you the more expensive oil, tires, batteries, etc. Also, beware that while they're doing minor services, they can lie about spotting a problem with some other part of your car. I wouldn't even trust them for a wheel alignment because they can easily lie about many parts and say they are affecting the alignment. A good way to stay clear of crooked and dishonest auto repair shops that hire non-professional mechanics is to stay away from all shops that are franchised businesses unless it's for basic straight forward services or purchases where they can't really lie or scam you. Mavis Tire and Jiffy Lube are notorious for incompetent mechanics and lies. There are some independently owned repair shops with bad reputations for scamming people such as Pittsfield Tire and Auto and Vallone's Auto Repairs. Auto Dealerships are also a bad choice for repairs outside of warranty work. Most are as bad as Monro. The best places are usually small independently owned shops that have been in business for many years and had the same head mechanic/owner for many years. read more

Went in with a tire that had a significant leak. Anthony inspected the tire removed the item that was lodged in my tire and patched the tire. When he returned with my keys and said all set, no charge I was completely floored. I offered a tip to compensate for his time and work and again he refused. ZERO STARS Deeply incompetent, dishonest, horrible customer service. Abridged version: 2 appointments, over 3.5 hours, and they only managed to replace my rear brakes before telling me to go get the job done (brakes and rotors) at the dealership. To 'make things right' the manager of the branch, William Nutbrown, said that Monro would reimburse me for the costs incurred at the dealership. Never happened. Many phone calls, repeatedly passed from one representative to another, many lies, much frustration and wasted time. This is a terrible business. I would give ZERO STARS if possible. I have made sure to warn all of my colleagues away from this place. This review is to help prevent even one other person from having the same miserable experience I had w Monro in Lenox. I will be sure to post this review on Yelp and Better Business Bureau, as well as Google. Unabridged version below, in case anyone from Monro corporate cares to take note of this terrible branch. On July 11, 2022, I took my car into Monro for a brake replacement bc my indicator light had come on. I made the appointment in person (w an employee named Kim) one day earlier and had been assured that the shop could accomplish the job within an hour and a half. My appointment was for 9AM. I was informed (by William) that I would need new rotors, as well. I deferred to his expertise and agreed to have my rotors replaced along w the brakes. At noon, I asked for a status update on my car and was informed that it was still a work in progress bc they had been unable to obtain the necessary parts. As I hadn't been prepared to spend so much time at the shop, I then inquired how much of the job had been done, and if my car was drivable. William told me that the brakes (front and rear) had been replaced, but that I would have to come back for the rotors. I paid $335.14 for what I understood to be the replacement of my front and rear brakes. One of the mechanics brought my car out of the service bay. As I was about to drive away, I saw that the indicator light was still on, so I asked the mechanic why. Much to my surprise, he informed me that they had only replaced the rear brakes. When I asked William what was going on, he apologized for 'miscommunication' and offered to charge me for only the new brakes; the rotors would be replaced for free when the parts came in. He proceeded to assure me that he would order the new parts (front brakes, rotors) immediately and would be in touch in a couple days. Atrocious customer service. I ordered tires and installment online, requested an appointment. The appointment was confirmed and then when I arrived, the tires were not even at the location so they tried to upsell for over $200 more, plus an alignment upsell... all without the tires I wanted even available. I called to clarify further and was greeted with three additional excuses as to why everything wasn't working out. What used to be a decent auto repair garage is now a clip joint. Had a problem with the power steering, took it to Monro. They said we also needed brakes and rotors and quoted $1200. We said OK to a one day job. Two days later, with excuses, car was ready. They tried to charge $1450.We complained, they hem-hawed, and discounted to $1200. They said they wouldn't charge for the calipers,$250, since they took so long. Drove home, power steering was not fixed. Took car to another garage who fixed the problem. I mentioned the calipers and was told they didn't change the calipers. Overall, a dirty place with tools all over the floor ran by dishonest people. Avoid! read more

Let me start with the positive....the Monro Muffler shop was good in the following respects - they honored the appointment I hade set up and the car was finished when they said it would be done. Outside of that I don't see any advantage to going to Monro as they were no less expensive than a car dealer. I had gone in for a muffler repair. It turned out to be over $500.00. The manager Mark told me it was expensive because they replaced the Catalytic Converter. It was insulting the way he tried to explain it to me as I know the converter is near the exhaust manifold on my car and it was never touched. He tried to tell me the positive was that it had a lifetime warranty on the repair. But their invoice says only 90 days. Very misleading business practice. Also they did not honor their on-line coupon so don't bother coming in with one. And lastly there was a nice scratch on my car door that was never there before I brought my vehicle in. Monro Rip-off! I was given an estimate of about $300 for 2 tires and an alignment (that I was told I needed by my inspection station). When my car was ready, I was told it didn't need an alignment - but was charged the same amount as quoted WITH it. ($79 value w/ discount.) I was also told I needed my two other tires replaced....which they offered to do later in the week. (My inspection station said they were fine to pass.) When I called the back the same day to question the discrepancy - after checking my notes - the manager (Mark) said he'd call me in the morning. He didn't. I stopped by the store and spoke w/ Tom, and told him I wanted the price difference back between what I was told I would be paying, and what I actually paid. He advised me he would have Mark call as soon as he returned to the store, and that "corporate policy" was that they don't give refunds at the store level. I also requested to see the printout of readings from the alignment - Tom said the printer on that machine is broken. I waited 2 hours....still no call back from the manager. Had my snow tires changed over. Called the day if a snowstorm and they fit me in. There was a little bit if a wait but that's what I expected with having been fit into get them done. Prices were fair and cheaper than other quotes I got around the city. Staff was nice and didnt try to tack on anything else unnecessary. Overall great experience, thank you. read more

My family comes here for most of our car work, I recently damaged the wheels on one side of my vehicle and they fixed it relatively quickly considering the damage. They got me some deals on the tires which was great. The staff has always been extremely friendly to me and my family so there's never been an unpleasant experience here. read more

My muffler went kurplunk on way home from work one evening. The next morning, Greg, the assistant manager, had the car in and repaired for a lot less that I anticipated. He was friendly and easy to deal with and the service was quick and efficient. He quoted me a price before fixing it, which I very much appreciated. My experience with Monroe Muffler at this location puts it high on my list for future repairs. read more
