This is the best panaderia I've found in Long Beach. I love that they have little smaller sized pieces of pan dulce that you can purchase here instead of the standard size. That way you can try all your favorites.......yes.......I'm a kid again every time I visit a panaderia. I've tried everything here and there isn't anything that isn't good. Everything is really fresh in the morning. Prices are very good in an economy that's seen a lot of inflation in the bread space :) Super clean, just remember to lock your car when you go in......not exactly the safest area.

Don't show up on Monday because basically there's nothing there. It's good don't get me wrong, but you are gonna pay a pretty price.

    Monica's from the outside.

A staple in my household every time my sister comes over to visit from Long Beach. We always have Monica's pan dulce with cafecito on the weekends she comes over. And every single time my sister says, "The conchitas are fresh!" And ohhh man, they sure are! They offer pan dulce of all sorts and even cakes, and other pastries as well. I came by on a Sunday around 12ishpm and all of the display cases were filled with so many yummy breads it was hard to choose. I've had Monica's plenty of times but had never visited their storefront, even when I did live in LB so it was pretty cool to see where it all starts.

The quality of your bread is no longer there taste is horrible

You shouldn't even get one star quality. The bread sucks. It's hard and no even tastes

    Me looking for the cheese

The tamales used to be bomb kool amount of cheese and chile but now there getting stingy with how much they put in it I did this to look for the cheese just a piece the size of my pinky has more masa than anything

Loved their bread and the jalapeño cheese bread! It has been a couple months since i've had pan dulce and this just did me well. Don't reccomend their champurrado; didn't taste well.

Cake with no lid ( I had to pay an extra $3 for another box to create a makeshift lid)

This week they began a permanent pop up at Moon Bridge donuts, serving up a selection of their most popular flavors on weekday afternoons after the donut shop closes. Stopped in there today to grab a little treat right when they opened up at 2:30. I usually get white cake with vanilla buttercream and confetti sprinkles, and lemon with lemon frosting(my favorite) but tried their flavor of the month- lemon with strawberry pieces and strawberry buttercream frosting- and it's divine!! The cake was lemony, soft and moist; I only wish there were more strawberry pieces in the cake, i'm not a huge frosting person but this strawberry cream cheese was sooo yummy and blended well with the cupcake. I loved how they packaged up the single cupcake. There would have been an extra charge for the special single box, but I took a chance on their regular packaging and it worked perfectly! They have a little collared protector they attach and it didn't tilt or move around in the bag. The frosting never even touched the sides of the bag. Service is always friendly and efficient. I know they will have lots of business and will probably sell out of most of the flavors every day. Glad this special little popup close to my home has opened up!

Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

Located in the quaint Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, street parking was plentiful right outside the restaurant. We came around noon on Saturday, and thankfully despite their busy brunch rush we were seated immediately. Even though all of their seating is outdoors, tables are shaded by overhanging canopy and just added to the cute southern Italian bistro vibes of the place. The menu had a solid selection of both brunch and lunch items - I loved the Burrata di Campagna, which was flavorful with just the right amount of tart from the heirloom tomatoes. For my main meal I had to go with the Casarecce - one of their pastas that's made fresh in house daily. The braided pasta was wonderfully textured and soaked up all the pesto sauce without being overly oily, a perfect meal for a hot summer day. We finished our meal with a Nutella Croissant, from their artisan bakery that also makes their bread fresh every day. Perhaps I am a little biased, but the laminated dough was perfectly light and flaky, encasing a very generous filling of hazelnut chocolate cream. Our check at the end of the meal even came with a custom drawn postcard by one of the Nonna Mercato service staff - another present to add on to what was already a gift of a meal!

Very cute cozy bakery. Service was great, such a sweet young lady that helped us. Here's my review on each item: Dubai Cheesecake - pretty presentation. It was good for the most part but I think I expected more. I personally wouldn't order again. Chocolate chip cookie - very good cookie. The right amount of chocolate chips and it was really soft which I enjoy my cookies soft. I would order another. German Chocolate cake - oh my god!!! That was one of the best German chocolate cakes I've ever had. I enjoyed how moist the cake was and the nutty texture on top was next level. I would definitely order another slice. The Cinnamon roll - this was my favorite thing we ordered. This cinnamon roll was to die for! Pillowy soft and the right amount of sweetness. The roll was so good with the nuts alone that I didn't even need or use the icing we asked for on the side. This was such a delight.

There was definitely a level of discrimination against us. If you stop by nowadays you can tell their business is suffering because of how they treat people. It's almost always empty. Be advised!
