Beef & pork with cilantro, onion, sprouts, lo mein.
Jose M.

Been to many Mongolian BBQ restaurants, specially in the mid west, this place is okay they really need seasonings like the Original Mongolian. They have liquid seasonings like garlic, soy sauce, limón juice, curry, hot oil. (Double up on liquid scoops for flavor) Meats are limited, chicken, pork, beef, fish Tilapia, veggies, lo mein noodles (No sea food) we tried a mix of pork and beef which turned out really good! The staff was outstanding, the ladies are amazingly nice and we're readily available to help if you have any questions or need assistance. The price was about $35 for two persons without drinks only water. I do recommend this place, be your own food critic, come try the open grill!

This place is definitely one of my favorite Mongolian grills! And definitely one of the most affordable ones as well! I really enjoy that they're slice meat is thicker than other places so that when it's cooked it doesn't shrink a whole lot! Due to Covid they are serving you your plate and since everything is customizable you tell the what to put on there! I'm a very big Mongolian grill fan and have been to quite a few places. And to tell you the truth I wasn't a big fan of how many times you would have to ask the lady to serve you a little bit more since her portion sizes were very small and she did seem a little bit bothered when you would ask for more. But I'm there to make my plate exactly how I like it although I see how it would upset other people. Overall I would recommend it for how delicious this place truly is and how affordable it is compared to other Mongolian grills

Amazing customer service, the food was excellent everything was clean and COVID friendly. The hot & sour soup was delicious! I would recommend to anyone that likes a variety and hot fresh food! It's a pick your own dish and they'll cook it at your liking! Definitely coming back without a doubt!

Super King Buffet

Foster-Powell, Southeast Portland

"Well worth the drive and the cost. A good buffet. M-Th dinner $21.99. Weekend $23.99.See photos…read moreand read below." (long review warning) I wanted to find a Chinese buffet in the area like ones we found in Arizona before Covid. We have tried a couple in Salem, and they are decent. But the local establishments created a desire to expect more. Because of the other reviews of Super King Buffet, I wanted to find out for myself if the negative /positive reviews aligned with my taste preferences and expectations. The appearance of the building outside is unremarkable. Inside, the place is extremely clean. Our server provided a table and our drinks quickly. Looking around, the empty tables were clean along with the floor of the establishment. A diverse culture of people was in attendance enjoying their meals, piled high with shrimp, open face clams, or crab. Others took a moderate approach, with a medium amount of food on their plate, but returned to the buffet line multiple times. I would suggest that before rushing off to the buffet selections, grabbing a plate and maxing out the square footage the plate can handle, just walk slowly up and down the many food stations and soak in the large variety of food options. There were 6 main stations. An additional two or three stations had fish on ice, and sushi. Dessert options: I do not remember other that my wife getting the soft served ice cream. They offer coffee, tea, and Pepsi products. The restaurant was busy, but the food options were always replenished, and the serving areas were kept extremely clean. I was amazed at the selection options. Other buffet restaurants may have a decent seafood selection but miss enough variety if one does not want seafood or other items not offered. But the selection also needs to taste according to one's expectation. I was pleased with all that I consumed. The hot food items were hot. The cold items were cold. The noodles and rice options met expectations of good Chinese buffets. Spring rolls were hot inside and crunchy outside and tasty. All the deep-fried foods I tried such as the butterfly shrimp, sweet/sour chicken, and crab wontons did not have any old oil after taste. This was a pleasant surprise. However, there were some disappointments in our food selections that night. For my taste (personal preferences), I disliked the coating on the chicken legs compared to other Chinese buffet restaurants. It seemed like they used the same coating they used on the fried fish. Then the salmon was dry. This is a problem at more than one restaurant; we have visited beyond a Chinese buffet environment. Good news is that all the shrimp selections are well cooked, not over cooked. Refills for our drinks and removing our used plates were faster than expected. My wife and I could not sample every item with just one visit, but we ate our usual favorites and except for the few discrepancies, we were incredibly pleased with this establishment. Is this an elegant restaurant environment with a salad bar option? No. But for a Chinese buffet, it delivers.

Last night after service I decided to take my family to eat here. It's been one of my wife's…read morefavorite places for years. I'm guessing they're under new ownership again and last night the food said it. The peanut chicken was cold, not even warm. The coconut shrimp (my favorite) tasted nasty. I had never had bad coconut shrimp until last night. $115 for some food that just might end up giving someone food poisoning is crazy! To the ownership and management team..... get it together!!!! What a disgrace.

The brisket is the highlight here--tender, smoky, and with a solid bark that shows they're doing things the right way. It's not Central Texas elite, but it's definitely above average for the region. The atmosphere is casual and no-frills--order at the counter, grab a seat, and dig in. It's more about the food than the experience, which honestly fits the style. I found that everything taste better after a day in the fridge. Service is typically quick and efficient, even when it gets busy. Overall: not the best barbecue you'll ever have, but definitely one of the more reliable spots in the Portland/Tigard area when you want that smoky, satisfying fix.

Our visit became a true blessing with fatty brisket, bbq turkey and ribs from Buster's. The brisket was soft, tender and moist with well balanced smoke. The turkey was cooked perfectly but could have had a bit more smoke, then it would be perfect. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful. You have a great guy there - Leo - who served that amazing brisket. All y'all should listen to him as he's wise in the BBQ business! Awesome dining area, felt like I was back in Tejas at Blacks or Rudy's.

The staff are friendly. There is a big variety of Vegetarian & non-Vegetarian dishes to try out in the buffet. As expected, typical buffets, make it mild than usual Indian style hot and spicy :) It would be nice to include the Tea than pop drinks to go with the Indian theme. The place is very spacious and clean. We went with a big group of 20+ friends and were give separate tables so we can all sit together. I liked the 3 different desserts (the Mango custard seems to be off that day but the other 2 Semiya payasam and Carrot halwa were pretty good) in the buffet, its a good surprise that they were not the usual Gulab Jamun etc. I hope they can add some spicy flavors and rotate some of the dessert options.

Ganesh was located on my way home so I have always wanted to give it a try. The first impression was alright. It's a quiet restaurant with lot of seating inside. The staff quickly greeted us and told us to help ourselves, and we did. After settling into our table, we went straight to the buffet. You will find a few selections for each dish in the buffet, there were a few deep fried dishes, a few curry selections and a few desserts as well. At Ganesh, you will find a mini salad bar and free fountain drinks as well. My favorite items were the roasted chicken, warm Indian-style donuts and the yogurt salad. Overall, we were glad trying out Ganesh. Even though we still love our favorite place, we appreciate the opportunity to compare different Indian buffets in town.

There are booths where you order food to come cooked, and then the hot pot tables where you order the ingredients and cook them yourself. It's very interactive, and they have plenty of meats, vegetables, tofu, dumplings and noodles. You can choose the broth you want at the beginning and they'll bring out the pot. Each pot is split in 2, so you order one regular broth and then a spicy broth. They also have a veggie broth, which I really enjoy. You can grab things from the salad bar, and they have different sauces/oils you can take and add to your soup. You're able to really customize the experience. It's a fun little experiment you get to do with your friends and family. The space itself is busy with customers walking around and staff brining drinks and food, but it's not crazy. We joke that the steam from the soup is a nice facial treatment. Lol. You can end the night with an ice cream cone and lollipop in the waiting room. I've been a few times, and I will say the first time is overwhelming with trying to figure out what to do, but after that you get more confident and interested in curating a soup that's to your taste.

Once we were seated though, things went downhill. Only one person out of our four person table had done hot pot before, the rest of us were clueless. The server didn't bother to ask if we understood how to order and were super unhelpful every time we asked a question, kind of waving us off. Apparently you place an order and have to wait 20 minutes before you can place another order? What? I've been to kbbq plenty of times and have never been met with this delay. We got their original soup base and curry base. Both were mid. Not very flavorful until the very very end when we had finished cooking and were ready to leave. Maybe eating boiled meat just isn't for me, but I feel like everything was pretty bland and tasteless. The best part of the meal was the ice cream we grabbed on the way out imo. They gave us $20 off coupons randomly, said we couldn't use them that night. Probably a ploy to get us to go back, but not even with a discount like that would I go back. Straight to the trash. Save yourself and go to kbbq or the Asian buffet that's 10 min away. Disappointing night out with the fam.
