The food quality is really fresh and the cook really knows how to make a good noodle texture. What a great little gem! I love the ability to choose my ingredients and have someone else cook them! You can load up on as many veggies, meat and noodle combinations as you want. There are also a great many different sauces and oils to choose from. Shrimp, chicken, pork, beef and fish! Pick one, pick two, pick them all! The veggies were nicely sliced and fresh. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and the staff were exceptionally kind. They were helpful, attentive and just plain old sweet! They have liquid seasonings like garlic, soy sauce, limón juice, curry, hot oil. (Double up on liquid scoops for flavor) Meats are limited, chicken, pork, beef, fish Tilapia, veggies, lo mein noodles (No sea food) we tried a mix of pork and beef which turned out really good! The staff was outstanding, the ladies are amazingly nice and we're readily available to help if you have any questions or need assistance. I have been coming to this location since I was a child. The original owner knew me and my parents. It's been the same cook for as long as I can remember. I came in today and ordered wraps like I always do and they came back cold. I asked her if I can get them warmed and the waitress proceeded to tell me they never send them warmed. I told her I've been coming since a kid and she had the audacity to look at me dumb. She even went as far as to say I must have been to changs. I said to just warm them please. She warms them and brings them to the table and says we are the only location and we have never warmed them up to which I state please don't lie to me. Then thanked her again! I won't be returning. Not sure if it was a slow night but we arrived around 6pm and we were the only ones there. Staff were very courteous. The food buffet is grabbing a bowl and filling it with raw veggies, meats and noodles and then sauces and they grill it for you. It was delicious and at a reasonable cost!!!!! The only difference in food was the added fish and shrimp. When I asked for the check, I noticed an added $4 charge. I asked the owner what was up-charge about and she said it was because I had too much left over on my plate and inflation was too high to leave food behind. I was blown away, by these bad business practices, they only care about the money, and do not care about customer satisfaction. I will never be back. Makes you wonder when most of the negative reviews are from out of state? My wife and I drive about 40 miles round trip to go there once a month. The food is always excellent as it should be since I pick the ingredients & seasoning. Average food in a dated strip mall spot. The staff is busy but friendly, but on the night we went, it was super busy and it took for-freakin'-ever to get our drink orders placed. The food is pretty mediocre, especially the soups. Hot and sour is not hot, and the egg drop soup is even blander. The buffet has lots of choices for fresh veggies and meats. Since it was crowded when we went, many items needed to be replenished, and they were very slow to get to that. Some of the meats were still frozen, so it took a while of pulling frozen meat off the hunk with tongs, before I finally gave up. The "chef" who cooked the meal was overworked - it was just him and he had easily 8 different orders going on the grill at the same time. That meant that my noodles were hard and crunchy (aka burnt) and the meat was overcooked and tough. Another cook could have kept things moving, literally, so that wouldn't happen. Terrible fortune cookies too - they're the cheap ones that taste of coconut oil. Not one of my favorite places, to be honest. read more

This has become my go to place for fresh Chinese food, especially during the pandemic. I am a senior and won't dine in restaurants at this time. I come in every week and take out my perfectly prepared meal . There are abundant choices of vegetables, meats and sauces. The restaurant is immaculate and the owner serves the ingredients from behind a Plexiglas shield and takes it to the brazier for me. She wears mask and gloves and I feel completely safe here. I'm going to compare this to the "other" chain Mongolian restraunt. The restraunt is clean but dated. You grab a bowl and load contents from their salad bar style bar and hand it to the guy at the grill. The veggies are a similar selection to the other chain, they had plain rather than fried tofu and their jalapenos were pickled not fresh but their meats were thicker and looked to be equal or better quality than the other place. You have to ask for rice wraps but they do have them. No complementary ice cream but they have a Jello bar (?!). Price point was similar to the other chain. BEST buffet around! Best Mongolian BBQ period. And top 3 of my all-time favorites! First, Chang's (the chain competitor) freezes their meat in slices. This place has raw chilled meat--huge difference in flavor, freshness and consistency. Second, they aren't flashy and have been putting out great food and fresh food since '91, so if you go in there and it is slow, it is because people driving by and passing up this gem, for flashy chain crap ingredients. Mateo has been behind the grill for 23 years as of this posting. The owners run a clean restaurant and if you get to know them, they are nice people with unparalleled histories. Third, just do it. Even if you are on the paleo diet, just go there after Cross Fit and protein load on the meat, brah. And if you are now living in the Tigard area, support this business that has been a staple in the community.
