Dessert spread - cookies, jello, mandarin oranges, lychee, mango cake, coffee cake... etc.

This place is great as far as staff being helpful, quick cleanup and plenty of room to sit. They get your drink order and bring it to your table wherever you decide to sit and they have some sauces already at the table for you. The selection is pretty standard, nothing crazy but they have a lot of the basics, a huge dessert line and some sushi items. Their sushi was warm, which was odd and concerning considering it was nigiri (salmon and rice, not cooked). I got some shrimp as well, unpeeled was the only option and I tried anyway, these were also room temp (though cooked) and weirdly mushy. Not sure if that's better or worse than over cooked and chewy. Cocktail sauce was delicious, on the sweeter side. My friend got pizza, orange chicken, garlic bread and a few other random items. She loved everything she had. I grabbed some potstickers and noodles and those were a good! I'd definitely give the place another go. It's really busy, from what I've seen working at Petsmart, on Sundays and evenings.

Ample seating with an excellent selection of Chinese food options. Surprisingly open on Christmas.

The food was hot, fresh and plentiful. Being one of the last buffets in the area, the self serve option is fantastic. The drink SERVICES spot on. Nice clean buffet with plentiful, clean dishes, and cutlery available. Open on Christmas for full service and we had a great meal highly recommend.

Tried their buffet twice. Service is good. So many items to eat. Place is clean and spacious. I love their crab item the most.

Veggies and fried foods were good

I'd give it a 3.5 Environment: This was a really big buffet! One side was where you got food and the other side had lots of seats. There were some areas where it could be divided so if you have a big party or something similar, you can split it up. Staff: we had a huge part/eventy and yet the servers were still very kind and patient with us. Def. an extra star for that because usually many servers would look impatient or rude but they were consistently cleaning and serving us. Also, we weren't the only customers, there were lots of people during the weekend so I appreciated that. Food: maybe I haven't gone to a buffet in a really long time in Portland, I thought it was okay. Lots of options and the things I recommend most were the fried dishes and their veggies. Some of the fried things I had were the butterfly shrimp, fries, springrolls, etc and they were all good! The veggies weren't over cooked. Some of the meats were hit or miss. Overall, for an event like we had, a buffet made sense. There was a lot of food to choose from, whether you like them or not. They quickly added more when certain plates were running low. I only tried the hot food side, fruits, and some desserts. I cannot say for other things.

Well it's a buffet and on the cheaper side of things, and that's where I run out of nice things to say. Food was mediocre at best for me. Honestly I think there are more desert options than actual main course options, and the main courses tasted frozen and reheated style. However for my daughter she loved it. It has the most jello options I have ever seen; didn't even know mango jello was an option! Probable won't be back, but tried it at least once.

Good selection of Chinese/Japanese and American food. Lots of seating which is great for large parties. I love their egg flower soup.

The staff are friendly. There is a big variety of Vegetarian & non-Vegetarian dishes to try out in the buffet. As expected, typical buffets, make it mild than usual Indian style hot and spicy :) It would be nice to include the Tea than pop drinks to go with the Indian theme. The place is very spacious and clean. We went with a big group of 20+ friends and were give separate tables so we can all sit together. I liked the 3 different desserts (the Mango custard seems to be off that day but the other 2 Semiya payasam and Carrot halwa were pretty good) in the buffet, its a good surprise that they were not the usual Gulab Jamun etc. I hope they can add some spicy flavors and rotate some of the dessert options.

Ganesh was located on my way home so I have always wanted to give it a try. The first impression was alright. It's a quiet restaurant with lot of seating inside. The staff quickly greeted us and told us to help ourselves, and we did. After settling into our table, we went straight to the buffet. You will find a few selections for each dish in the buffet, there were a few deep fried dishes, a few curry selections and a few desserts as well. At Ganesh, you will find a mini salad bar and free fountain drinks as well. My favorite items were the roasted chicken, warm Indian-style donuts and the yogurt salad. Overall, we were glad trying out Ganesh. Even though we still love our favorite place, we appreciate the opportunity to compare different Indian buffets in town.

When we were ordering, there seemed to be a little bit of a language barrier. I wanted veggie salad rolls and my sister wanted to order salad rolls with shrimp. He brought one order of the veggie salad rolls and placed between us. So my sister reiterated that she wanted shrimp, and I think he finally understood. Soon he was back with her shrimp salad rolls. They tasted fresh and it was just what I needed for an extremely hot day!

He asked the kitchen and they said yes but I ended up getting rice noodles instead anyway, I was just curious for the future. The rice noodles were pad Thai noodles and not the thin, vermicelli ones. My other question was, "Can I get the hot pot while my friend gets the pho?" You can't do this (not the AYCE option), which is understandable and fine, so she showed me the menu where you can get the Mongolian soup with all the hot pot broths and proteins. I've had hot pot in Vancouver, BC and asked for their spiciest, and it was the spiciest thing I've ever eaten a full meal of. So I got the medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all. And in fact, it was so bland, I saw there was salt on the table after I had finished and I thought, "That's what this was missing... salt!" The flavor was so non-existent it didn't even seem like they used salt. Which makes me sad. I wonder if the sweet and spicy broth had any flavor. The only thing I liked about the entire soup (I got the beef and meatballs and added pork belly) were surprisingly the meatballs, when I thought that sounded the least appealing. My friend said she enjoyed her pho, but I don't think I would even come back here to find out if I did too, and I work 3 minutes away. Also, they must have moved because the pictures of the outside have changed and there is no karaoke stage anymore. When I walked in at 6pm on a Wednesday, I was the first one there. Only two other tables showed up. It pains me to see people pour their hearts out into owning a restaurant only for it to be empty, but I sadly could also see why. It was nothing personal. Just lacking in quality taste. I wish them the best though, can't be easy to run a restaurant.

"Well worth the drive and the cost. A good buffet. M-Th dinner $21.99. Weekend $23.99.See photos…read moreand read below." (long review warning) I wanted to find a Chinese buffet in the area like ones we found in Arizona before Covid. We have tried a couple in Salem, and they are decent. But the local establishments created a desire to expect more. Because of the other reviews of Super King Buffet, I wanted to find out for myself if the negative /positive reviews aligned with my taste preferences and expectations. The appearance of the building outside is unremarkable. Inside, the place is extremely clean. Our server provided a table and our drinks quickly. Looking around, the empty tables were clean along with the floor of the establishment. A diverse culture of people was in attendance enjoying their meals, piled high with shrimp, open face clams, or crab. Others took a moderate approach, with a medium amount of food on their plate, but returned to the buffet line multiple times. I would suggest that before rushing off to the buffet selections, grabbing a plate and maxing out the square footage the plate can handle, just walk slowly up and down the many food stations and soak in the large variety of food options. There were 6 main stations. An additional two or three stations had fish on ice, and sushi. Dessert options: I do not remember other that my wife getting the soft served ice cream. They offer coffee, tea, and Pepsi products. The restaurant was busy, but the food options were always replenished, and the serving areas were kept extremely clean. I was amazed at the selection options. Other buffet restaurants may have a decent seafood selection but miss enough variety if one does not want seafood or other items not offered. But the selection also needs to taste according to one's expectation. I was pleased with all that I consumed. The hot food items were hot. The cold items were cold. The noodles and rice options met expectations of good Chinese buffets. Spring rolls were hot inside and crunchy outside and tasty. All the deep-fried foods I tried such as the butterfly shrimp, sweet/sour chicken, and crab wontons did not have any old oil after taste. This was a pleasant surprise. However, there were some disappointments in our food selections that night. For my taste (personal preferences), I disliked the coating on the chicken legs compared to other Chinese buffet restaurants. It seemed like they used the same coating they used on the fried fish. Then the salmon was dry. This is a problem at more than one restaurant; we have visited beyond a Chinese buffet environment. Good news is that all the shrimp selections are well cooked, not over cooked. Refills for our drinks and removing our used plates were faster than expected. My wife and I could not sample every item with just one visit, but we ate our usual favorites and except for the few discrepancies, we were incredibly pleased with this establishment. Is this an elegant restaurant environment with a salad bar option? No. But for a Chinese buffet, it delivers.
