    Array of buffet foods

Well, we went here because my husband saw the word BUFFET. Yes, they have a buffet which is marginal. The stand out were the cabbage curry and the lamb curry. Naan was plain, saag was okay. The Dahl was good just a bit salty. The butter chicken if you like that dish (I do not) we did taste it and for butter chicken it was pretty good. $19.99 plus fountain drink. Chai and lassi are extra. Ti love a good cup of chai. Their chai was not my favorite. Very friendly staff.

We had such high hopes for Ganesh after reading all the great reviews. I don't know if we just hit a bad day but noon on a Friday should be a reasonable time to get representative food. My husband had the buffet and I ordered from the menu. I tried the Ganesh special which is Masala Dosa, Sambar, and one each of Idli, Vada, and Masala Vada with 2 chutneys. It's a great value but the Ildli was very dry and flavorless, and the Vadas were heavy and dry. The coconut chutney had an off flavor that tasted spoiled to me. The chile chutney was good. The Sambar was very bland. The Dosa was good and the potato Masala was mild but good. I also ordered veggie pakora. The batter coating was bland and heavy leaving it undercooked in areas. The Gobi Paratha I ordered was dry and barely filled as well as bland, flavorless. Hubby tried several things from the buffet, mostly chicken curries and rice. His tandoori chicken was dry and the chicken biryani was not prepared properly at all. We were so disappointed with our meal. Our usual is Chennai Masala in Hillsboro and their food is so much better than this was! I will say our waiter was very nice and the place appeared clean and they do have an extensive menu with options that we can't get at our usual place. But the food was so bad we won't be back.

Drop by for their lunch buffet and it's a feast! Many varieties of curries and breads to accompany them were laid out for you to have at. I thought their curries were all very solid with special shoutout to the Dal Curry, Lamb Vi daloo, and Yellow Veggie Curry. Everything packed a punch that creeps up on you so be sure to have the Raita on the side -- super fresh and refreshing. In fact, all their sauces and food used good quality ingredients and were constantly replenished so you'll always get a plate of fresh food. Their meats were very tender as well. The buffet is a great way to try many things. A super casual spot. Lots of friends, families, and regulars come here to get their belly filled. The staffs were super friendly as well.

First time here since it changed to Ganesh. When it was Abhiruchi I had been here a few times and more times when it was located off TV Highway. I think I was the first customer today.. They had on offer it was 8 buffet items that were vegan which included two soups and two types of rice. 3 of the cutneys were vegan coconut, tamarind, and another one which I don't recall... they didn't have idly. But I asked the young man and he said we can make you some... but I didn't want to pay extra if it wasn't included with the buffet and he said no dont worry no extra charge. Now here's the skinny on the buffet food. I was surprised and unexcited about the taste and flavor. Nothing had any desernable great taste.... just bland and flat. Usually when I go to these type of Indian buffets after my first plate I'm enjoying a few of the items and feeling wow this tastes great and going back up to get a few more items on my second trip with enthusiasm. I didn't have any of that feeling at Ganesh. After eating the various items I was ready to go. Their was no spice no herbs ..... the idly were very dense and not soft and fluffy like I've had at other places. Even the soups had no spices or herbs and minimal veggies. I also noticed their were no dried red Chilli peppers in any thing. Which was disappointing. The service was excellent. The younger gentleman was very attentive and at the ready to assit with anything needed. The ambiance open bright lots of light and many tables. Felt appropriate for a buffet. It's In A strip mall with several other restaurants and shops on either side. Price out the door $18.99 I would like to return in future but it may be a while.

I've loved Indian food my whole life! Both my Dad and Grandma were born in India and made incredible dishes when I was growing up. We usually cook Indian at home but my daughter and I had time to go out together so after a search on Yelp, Ganesh had outstanding reviews so we went there on a Sunday night. We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and Lamb Saag upgraded to a Thali Dinner. It was the perfect amount of food and delicious. The owner is a force of nature, he was handling phone calls, delivery orders all while doing a good job with attentive service as well! Two tips: they offer a buffet for lunch every day except Tuesday when they are closed. Highly recommended!

There are booths where you order food to come cooked, and then the hot pot tables where you order the ingredients and cook them yourself. It's very interactive, and they have plenty of meats, vegetables, tofu, dumplings and noodles. You can choose the broth you want at the beginning and they'll bring out the pot. Each pot is split in 2, so you order one regular broth and then a spicy broth. They also have a veggie broth, which I really enjoy. You can grab things from the salad bar, and they have different sauces/oils you can take and add to your soup. You're able to really customize the experience. It's a fun little experiment you get to do with your friends and family. The space itself is busy with customers walking around and staff brining drinks and food, but it's not crazy. We joke that the steam from the soup is a nice facial treatment. Lol. You can end the night with an ice cream cone and lollipop in the waiting room. I've been a few times, and I will say the first time is overwhelming with trying to figure out what to do, but after that you get more confident and interested in curating a soup that's to your taste.

Once we were seated though, things went downhill. Only one person out of our four person table had done hot pot before, the rest of us were clueless. The server didn't bother to ask if we understood how to order and were super unhelpful every time we asked a question, kind of waving us off. Apparently you place an order and have to wait 20 minutes before you can place another order? What? I've been to kbbq plenty of times and have never been met with this delay. We got their original soup base and curry base. Both were mid. Not very flavorful until the very very end when we had finished cooking and were ready to leave. Maybe eating boiled meat just isn't for me, but I feel like everything was pretty bland and tasteless. The best part of the meal was the ice cream we grabbed on the way out imo. They gave us $20 off coupons randomly, said we couldn't use them that night. Probably a ploy to get us to go back, but not even with a discount like that would I go back. Straight to the trash. Save yourself and go to kbbq or the Asian buffet that's 10 min away. Disappointing night out with the fam.

He asked the kitchen and they said yes but I ended up getting rice noodles instead anyway, I was just curious for the future. The rice noodles were pad Thai noodles and not the thin, vermicelli ones. My other question was, "Can I get the hot pot while my friend gets the pho?" You can't do this (not the AYCE option), which is understandable and fine, so she showed me the menu where you can get the Mongolian soup with all the hot pot broths and proteins. I've had hot pot in Vancouver, BC and asked for their spiciest, and it was the spiciest thing I've ever eaten a full meal of. So I got the medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all. And in fact, it was so bland, I saw there was salt on the table after I had finished and I thought, "That's what this was missing... salt!" The flavor was so non-existent it didn't even seem like they used salt. Which makes me sad. I wonder if the sweet and spicy broth had any flavor. The only thing I liked about the entire soup (I got the beef and meatballs and added pork belly) were surprisingly the meatballs, when I thought that sounded the least appealing. My friend said she enjoyed her pho, but I don't think I would even come back here to find out if I did too, and I work 3 minutes away. Also, they must have moved because the pictures of the outside have changed and there is no karaoke stage anymore. When I walked in at 6pm on a Wednesday, I was the first one there. Only two other tables showed up. It pains me to see people pour their hearts out into owning a restaurant only for it to be empty, but I sadly could also see why. It was nothing personal. Just lacking in quality taste. I wish them the best though, can't be easy to run a restaurant.

The shop was quiet with some customers picking up to go orders. We went to the counter and ordered two non-veg (chicken) thali plates, a mango lassi and a chai masala. I also asked to confirm that they don't have their buffet anymore. While we were waiting, we noticed that most of the tables were dirty with food smudges and left over trash presumably from the day before since it had just opened. I tried to clean our table with paper napkins and water with little effect. So we decided to just deal with it. My husband went to the restroom to wash his hands and told me the restroom was in need of cleaning as well. As our food came. We noticed the sides on the thali plates were different too. They used to have two side dishes with cucumber, tomato, onion and crackers. The new plates were more plain, not bad, but not the same variety. The food tasted pretty good, I noticed the curries were spicer as well. That makes us wonder if there was a change of ownership/management once Desi Bites moved. It's such a shame the Desi Bites we remembered is gone..
