Since the pandemic, there's a trend of restaurants serving small portions and jacking up their prices. My wallet cries every time I eat out nowadays. Hyderabad hub is one of the few places that gives me pre-pandemic feel. We ordered chicken dum biryani and chicken tikka masala for $14 each. The portions were HUGE! The biryani is good for 3 meals while the sauce for tikka masala is good for 2-3 meals. They were also really flavorful -- lots of spices utilized with mild level of heat. We also ordered garlic naan and mango lassi. The naan was super garlicky in a good way. This is one of the few places where the lassi have a strong mango flavor. read more

Where do I start. This was probably the worst train wreck, I immediately thought of Gordon ramsey's kitchen nightmares. Bad service, long faces. No smiles. No ambiance (no music) awkward silence. They forgot to bring us our drinks. There wasn't enough cutlery on our table. And when the food finally came they didn't bring rice (like ever) they forgot to bring it. When we asked for it. The lady looked at us like we were bothering her. They took over half hour to bring the rice, the table next to us was the same. I wanted to leave but my husband didn't want to be rude. Then the worst part. The chicken tikka masala was made with brown meat chicken. It is not chicken breast. You couldn't add so many insults to the injury. They asked us how spicy we wanted I said mild and it was spicier than my husbands who got medium. The place is a train wreck people waiting to pick up takeaway waited over an hour for their orders too. It completely ruined my night. At first I felt bad for them. But Jesus Christ. If you're that unprepared then delay opening your business. Stay clear! I would be suspicious of the good reviews. They are probably from their own family and friends.. read more

I ordered the paneer biryani from the Happy Valley Station. First of all, he overcharged me , which I caught in time before I paid. So he fixed the price. Second, the rice was dry and hard and the paneer was shriveled. Third, the ranch dip tasted awful so I threw it away. Never going back to any of their carts. read more

Please note that this is a partial experience only since I just did a take out. Tried their biriyani which was delicious and quite filling. They even have a lower serving size take out for a lower price. Overall, if you can and want to handle spicy food, try out this place. read more

When I first moved to this area back in 2008, this place was an Indian restaurant called Lentil Garden. The food was good back then but the service wasn't. Since then this place has changed ownership, chefs and names several times, although it always remained an Indian restaurant. Currently known as Hyderabad House, it seems to have gone way downhill. When I visited them today at 11:15, the door was wide open so I walked in. Their hours on yelp say they open at 11 but on their window it says 11:30. I noticed this on my way out. I wanted takeaway so I went to the counter and started looking at the menu. One of the gentlemen working there told me they weren't open till 11:30 but allowed me to wait inside looking at the menu. The two gentlemen conversed back and forth and seemed to be busy taking stuff out to a car. Maybe they do catering. The one gentleman completely ignored me as if customer service was beneath him. Around 11:20 the gentleman who had spoken to me asked if I was ready to order. I think they wanted to get rid of me. I ordered the Indo-Chinese rice, no meat. He informed me that it wouldn't be ready till noon. Forty minutes to make a rice dish? Now I really felt like they were hoping that I would leave. But I've never been one to walk away from a good challenge so I said "ok, that's fine i'll wait". They weren't getting rid of me now even if they had to send to India for that rice! Lo and behold my order was in the bag and ready at 11:40. There were still no other customers in the place. There is an old buffet set-up in back but I was told they don't do a buffet. Maybe it's leftover from previous owners and waiting for the next ones who might use it. There is plenty of comfortable seating inside including tables and booths. The tv was playing current Indian music. The atmosphere is nice. When I got my order home it was a disappointment. The salt level was overwhelming and although I ordered it mild, there was no Indo-Chinese flavor. I have had this item many times at other restaurants so I know what to expect. This was not the flavor that I have come to enjoy. I doctored it up so that it was edible but that defeats the point of getting takeaway. I might as well cook it myself at home. And yes, I've been cooking Indian food for over 15 years, having learned from numerous good Indian cooks. So bottom line, I don't plan to return to Hyderabad House or recommend it. But I'll watch for it's name to change again... read more

Had ordered 555 Briyani, paneer karaikudi, garlic naan and chilli naan. It was a delivery order through Doordash. I felt the restaurant did not pay attention to details as they missed to pack the briyani and we had to go in-person to pick it up. It was a hassle. The food tasted really good. The paneer karaikudi felt delicious in my mouth. I'd recommend everyone try this. The 555 Veg Briyani had a good quantity. With medium spice, the spice levels felt right. I feel this place has a good variety of briyani to choose from - but do not let that overshadow the hidden gem of entrees like Paneer Karaikudi. Give it a shot! read more

A friend recommended this place, and I was blown away by how amazing it was here. Everything cooked perfectly. The garlic naan was perfect, the butter chicken was so creamy, tender, and flavorful, cauliflower appetizer was delicious and had a phenomenal texture, and the eggplant dish was out of this world. I will definitely be coming here regularly. It's been about 20 years since I had Indian food this good. Very nice place for Biryani! We tried the chicken dum Biryani and goat dum Biryani. Both the meats were very flavorful n cooked well. Portions were great. One Biryani is definitely enough for 2 people. Obviously names of few of biryani's can confuse you in choosing but the guy who took our order was also super helpful in explaining what flavors to expect in each type of Biryani. I did a Uber Eats delivery from this place. Ordered the Vijayawada biriyani, malai kofta, and Butter Naan. The Vijayawada Biryani was flavorful with each bit suffused with spice. Vijayawada Biryani originated from the Vijayawada city of the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. Authentic Vijayawada Biryani is made with chicken, lamb, or beef and the meat is cooked appropriately using all the essential spices such as turmeric, cloves, red chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and some black pepper. Hyderabad Hub really did a good job on the biriyani hitting all the flavors and the end result was a yummy, flavorful biriyani. The Malai kofta was really good with an excellent gravy base and the kofta balls were crispy and flavorful. The spice level was perfect and the rich creamy gravy was an excellent complement to the Butter Naan. Overall, an excellent place to get a quick delivery or takeout. read more

This place is quiet popular amongst the Indian crowd. Especially the South Indian crowd. But have some major issues. So, if you want to try this place you just want to order their pulaos. AVOID their biryanis!!! They have no clue how to make it, it's horrible, they have no sense of flavor and the spice is dangerous not flavorful. We had to throw away twice when we ordered biryanis. They use the same sauce for paneer and chicken not cool. So if you want to serve customers Biryani do it right! If you want to learn how to do it learn from Apna Bazaar! This is my new favorite Indian restaurant in Portland! Been here 2 times and the lunch thali has the best selection. Everything is very fresh and full of authentic flavors. The spicy dishes are my favorite. I asked for biryani in place of white rice and it was so full of fragrant spices. Our go to in the area for a decent Veg Biryani. Paneer Koffa Biryani is our constant. Though the flavor has changed a bit over last few years, we still consider this to be the most satisfying biryani place around the corner. we also tried their other Veg biryanis like Gutti vankay Biryani, paneer Biryani etc. All pretty decent. Great place for authentic Hyderabadi Biriyani! Always been a Biriyani lover and I am so glad I found this place. They do have a very good number of vegetarian options. The Malai Kofta here is my all time favorite followed by the Kofta Biriyani! Paneer Butter Masala here is a good one too. They used to give food really spicy in the initial days which I loved but now the spice level has been significantly reduced even though we request the spicy option. Overall a great place for Hyderabadi Biriyani! I should mention that the service could really be improved. Its a new business so it would probably take some time to get better I think. Certainly not an expert in Indian food, but this is my favorite Indian food I've had. I love their Gobi Manchurian and Special Chicken Vijayawada biryani. The service is often incredibly slow and slightly inattentive, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it, and the workers are all great people that will take care of you. Once I brought my mom, who will not eat any spicy food, and while they couldn't make it "unspicy" enough for her (I thought she would be fine with butter chicken, which was amazing, but she still thought it was too hot) they offered her free naan and a mango lassi to help cool her mouth down, which worked wonderfully. Seriously, amazing food and great people, I can't recommend this restaurant enough, this is one of the very few places I will return to in the Hillsboro area. read more

Writing this comes with a heavy heart. After my husband and I moved to Oregon from NYC, I was missing home a bunch. In New York, they have the best of the best culinary experts, and all my favorite restaurant especially Indian ones that make great biryani were there. After finding Hyderabad hub here in Portland, I was so excited to have a good establishment for my Hyderabadi biryani cravings. For the past year and a half, I got jumbo sizes of their biryani dinners multiple times. The biryani was phenomenal, scrumptious, and portions were great for the price. The past few months the quality and quantity have degraded so much, I can no longer call this place worthy of purchasing any foods. The portions are to laughable. Just yesterday I bought a jumbo size of Hyderabad biryani and some plain naans. There is more rice than chicken. The chicken used to be a mix of dark and plain meat...Now there is just dark meat and more bones than chicken. There is only a few pieces and straggly at that. The taste is just awful. It used to be so flavorful and juicy with it's spices. Now even when I ordered "medium" for spice, it is bland and feels like a couple days old chicken. Not as fresh as it used to be. The rice is nothing extravagant, they even skimped out on their red food coloring. The eggs they include in the biryani was already just 2 in a jumbo pack which I never understood and now they are overcooked and grey. The raita was definitely a couple days old. Before there were a few times they forgot my sides. The last couple times the containers they came in were smaller than usual and they were not fresh. There were curds starting to form in the raita. Before when they used to forget my sides they told me to come back to pick up a substitute...I live 30 minutes away, that was not possible. I didn't even bother telling them about this terrible order, as their recent changes in food and work force were not worth the trouble. The onions and limes they came with were old and messily packed. Even the naans were smaller and burnt. It was around dinner time and they were usually on time with my orders but this time they were running late. It's such a shame that the quality and quantity of the foods have turned into such a disaster. The seem to have hired new help that is either inexperienced or not following any set recipes they have. The new app they launched "Joyous" brings them more customers but that comes at the price of having tasteless, messy, and extremely small portions for high prices. They spread them selves too thin. Literally. It was once the king of biryani in Oregon, but it isn't even comparable to the smaller Indian restaurants in this city. The king has officially fallen. P.S. We have frequented this location for the previous restaurant: PDX Bawarchi... Looks like the previous management shut down and handed over the place intact to the new management and cooks. The new place does not disappoint: 1. Their chicken dum biryani is top notch... large quantity for a single order with a generous amount of chicken. 2. Chicken 65 is awesome... one of the best in town 3. Gongura Chicken curry was great as well... would like it tangier, but that totally depends on the type of Gongura that you can get in this side of the world. 4. Veggie biryani (budget size): Pretty good... budget size is actually sufficient for one person (plentiful and right price) 5. Masala dosa: the potato-based masala that came with it was great... however, the other side items: tomato chutney and sambar (usually can't go wrong items) were a great disappointment 6. Cheese dosa: We asked for it without any spice and told that it was for the kids... but they may not have heard to the request... they just cooked normally with medium spice :-(. 7. The biggest reason why we went to PDX Bawarchi was Avakai (unripe-mango) Chicken 65 biryani: looks like this place missed the trick on that one... the avakai pickle wasn't the right one. hopefully, they get that right in future They have been consistent with their spice level.. ordered medium spice for all of our dishes and been the right spice to us (having grown up in India, we generally prefer our items to be flavorful and spicy at the same time). The food at this place is decent--the service is a little less than stellar. The portion sizes are generous, and I think just about everything is spicy. My go-to is the malai kofta. The gobi manchurian is tasty, but SO dang spicy. My partner gets the chicken biriyani and loves it. I like the variety of spices used, and the authenticity feels legit. The Hakka noodles are really good and remind me of a childhood favorite of ramen and ketchup (sounds strange, but I love it). Ive only ordered Tika masala and garlic nan from Hyderbread and each time Ive order , they have exceeded my expectations of good food. The food taste AMAZING! The Tika Masala is so rich, buttery, creamy the right amount of thick and flavorful with just the right amount of chili very different from any other Indian food resteraunt I have tried. The tempertature of the food is always just right. They serve a significant amount of garlic nan to eat and also very flavorful. Iabsoloutley love this place and highly reccomend it. read more

Not much ambiance to speak of when walking in, but staff was very pleasant. There's no decorations to speak of. My daughter asked them to put on their music because that at least helps with ambiance. First thing we got was the gobi monagadi, something I've never tried before, and I've frequented many Indian restaurants over the last 25 years. It was phenomenal and I need that in my life. Unfortunately, I don't live in the Portland area, so it'll have to remain a treat when I visit. It's deep-fried cauliflower covered in a scrumptious sauce. Crunchy goodness that won me over and almost caused a fight among us trying to spear as many pieces onto our forks as we could-next time, I'll be ordering double of those! The butter chicken was very good, well worth it. I wasn't much impressed with the vegetable korma; there were no raisins and it wasn't' very tasty. I was hoping to get an order of papadam with mint and turmeric chutneys but it's not on their menu, and the waitstaff didn't know what I was talking about. The garlic naan was especially good. My mom has never been a big fan of naan or any other type of Indian bread, but she loved the one here. I'll be back for the gobi monagadi, butter chicken and garlic naan for sure! New biryani place in town and a very promising one this time... Since its new, the service is out of whack but I hope it ll get better over time... They also don't serve the budget size mentioned in the menu but that's a really good option for single person or if you want to try more than one biryani.. We got to business, ordered the egg gongura biryani and baby core manchurian and we ordered it spicy! The biryani was aromatic, full of flavor and spicy... Mind you the spicy is really really spicy... Go for it if you can handle it.. The baby corn manchurian was ok... I think this one had too much chilli powder heat that was added last minute.. A good spot for some really yummy biryani and there is more on the menu I would like to try.. Will update again read more

I would give this place a zero star if I could. We ordered the paneer biryani, Veg 555 and naan. The biryani was below average for Portland standard and Naan was undercooked. The most horrible was Veg 555 as the food coloring made it bitter and my fingers and nails are colored as I deliberately handled it with my hands. read more
