Chicken Tikka masala, garlic naan and chicken dum biryani
    Gina T.

Since the pandemic, there's a trend of restaurants serving small portions and jacking up their prices. My wallet cries every time I eat out nowadays. Hyderabad hub is one of the few places that gives me pre-pandemic feel. We ordered chicken dum biryani and chicken tikka masala for $14 each. The portions were HUGE! The biryani is good for 3 meals while the sauce for tikka masala is good for 2-3 meals. They were also really flavorful -- lots of spices utilized with mild level of heat. We also ordered garlic naan and mango lassi. The naan was super garlicky in a good way. This is one of the few places where the lassi have a strong mango flavor.

    Trying their indo-Chinese rice.

When I first moved to this area back in 2008, this place was an Indian restaurant called Lentil Garden. The food was good back then but the service wasn't. Since then this place has changed ownership, chefs and names several times, although it always remained an Indian restaurant. Currently known as Hyderabad House, it seems to have gone way downhill. When I visited them today at 11:15, the door was wide open so I walked in. Their hours on yelp say they open at 11 but on their window it says 11:30. I noticed this on my way out. I wanted takeaway so I went to the counter and started looking at the menu. One of the gentlemen working there told me they weren't open till 11:30 but allowed me to wait inside looking at the menu. The two gentlemen conversed back and forth and seemed to be busy taking stuff out to a car. Maybe they do catering. The one gentleman completely ignored me as if customer service was beneath him. Around 11:20 the gentleman who had spoken to me asked if I was ready to order. I think they wanted to get rid of me. I ordered the Indo-Chinese rice, no meat. He informed me that it wouldn't be ready till noon. Forty minutes to make a rice dish? Now I really felt like they were hoping that I would leave. But I've never been one to walk away from a good challenge so I said "ok, that's fine i'll wait". They weren't getting rid of me now even if they had to send to India for that rice! Lo and behold my order was in the bag and ready at 11:40. There were still no other customers in the place. There is an old buffet set-up in back but I was told they don't do a buffet. Maybe it's leftover from previous owners and waiting for the next ones who might use it. There is plenty of comfortable seating inside including tables and booths. The tv was playing current Indian music. The atmosphere is nice. When I got my order home it was a disappointment. The salt level was overwhelming and although I ordered it mild, there was no Indo-Chinese flavor. I have had this item many times at other restaurants so I know what to expect. This was not the flavor that I have come to enjoy. I doctored it up so that it was edible but that defeats the point of getting takeaway. I might as well cook it myself at home. And yes, I've been cooking Indian food for over 15 years, having learned from numerous good Indian cooks. So bottom line, I don't plan to return to Hyderabad House or recommend it. But I'll watch for it's name to change again...

    Butter chicken and garlic naan

A friend recommended this place, and I was blown away by how amazing it was here. Everything cooked perfectly. The garlic naan was perfect, the butter chicken was so creamy, tender, and flavorful, cauliflower appetizer was delicious and had a phenomenal texture, and the eggplant dish was out of this world. I will definitely be coming here regularly. It's been about 20 years since I had Indian food this good. I had tried so many places to find something this good, and I finally found it after years of searching. Staff was so nice too, let us come in 20 minutes before closing.

Came for lunch today. Delicious food, an assortment of meat and vegetable items served to me on a tray. See photo. Really enjoyed the flavors and textures. Seasonings were just right (not overly spicy/hot). Comes with naan, rice and condiments. Was glad to see it isn't another self serve buffet: table service appeals more to me. Very attentive and smiling staff. I'l definitely return.

Very nice place for Biryani! We tried the chicken dum Biryani and goat dum Biryani. Both the meats were very flavorful n cooked well. Portions were great. One Biryani is definitely enough for 2 people. Obviously names of few of biryani's can confuse you in choosing but the guy who took our order was also super helpful in explaining what flavors to expect in each type of Biryani. Will definitely visit again!

Hole in the wall but the food was delicious. They have a variety of Biryanis and their portions are big.

Good food. Not very clean. Inside. Floors are greasy. Just overall feel it's not sanitary.

This turned out to be a very disappointing experience…read more We went expecting an Indian buffet not very different from others we have tried elsewhere in the past. What we got was unexpected and not good. I was looking forward to the Butter Chicken that was on the buffet menu. What I found was a restaurant tray with a bit of sauce in it, and not a single piece of chicken. I thought, "No problem. I'll go again when they bring some more out." We were there about an hour. That pan was never changed or added to. I tried the sauce over some rice and it tasted good. It became obvious the longer I waited that they weren't going to refresh this dish. (The buffet still had over an hour before closing). Then there was a dish called Garlic Chicken. This consisted of small, very bony pieces of chicken that were very dark, having had any tenderness cooked out of them long ago. The boniness was a concern that even my wife mentioned without my prompting. It looked as if someone had taken a meat cleaver to a chicken and just hacked away at it. Jagged pieces of bone all over. Not good! There were some vegetarian options that I didn't try, and a dessert similar to Kheer, but made with skim milk, I think. It was runny like gruel. There were two employees there, I have no idea if a chef was hiding in the back, perhaps ashamed to show his or her face. These two were more interested in chatting and sitting than in doing something so ridiculous as updating the hot dishes. I am on a mission now to try and find a decent Indian Buffet. We haven't been to a good one since Sagat stopped serving the buffet during Covid. Oh, one last note: They had a sign instructing customers to reuse their plates. Really? They were too damn lazy to wash the dishes, I guess. We used new plates. As for this hole-in-the-wall, we will NOT be back!

Best. Indian. Food. Ever…read more Seriously. I've lived (and eaten copious amounts of Indian food!) in NYC, LA, SJ, SF, ATL, and PDX and this chef and his fusion cuisine is on a whole new level of culinary mastery and taste bud ecstasy. We are so very blessed to have such mastery in the neighborhood, so much so that now I must go order from them just thinking about the deliciousness!!

This is my 300th review on Yelp! Yay!…read more Anyway, we came here on a friend's high recommendation because everything sounded amazing! Mexican and Indian fusion?! I mean come on! Best of both worlds! I want to give a little grace in this review since perhaps I came in with high expectations so some of the dishes fell a little short because of that? It was empty on a Tuesday around lunch time but we were greeted warmly by who I assumed were the owners. The decor is fun, vibrant, and colorful in the small space. They are also popular with takeout and delivery. I actually really enjoyed my Lamb Vindaloo Tacos! The lamb was tender and it did have a good amount of spice. My friend and I both thought the Dirty Chicken Masala Fries and her regular Chicken Tikka Masala could have had more flavor. BUT with that said, my leftovers tasted better the next day! It really is a local mom and pop spot with such a cool concept and the food was good! I look forward to coming back on another day to try something different!
