This turned out to be a very disappointing experience. We went expecting an Indian buffet not very different from others we have tried elsewhere in the past. What we got was unexpected and not good. I was looking forward to the Butter Chicken that was on the buffet menu. What I found was a restaurant tray with a bit of sauce in it, and not a single piece of chicken. I thought, "No problem. I'll go again when they bring some more out." We were there about an hour. That pan was never changed or added to. I tried the sauce over some rice and it tasted good. It became obvious the longer I waited that they weren't going to refresh this dish. (The buffet still had over an hour before closing). Then there was a dish called Garlic Chicken. This consisted of small, very bony pieces of chicken that were very dark, having had any tenderness cooked out of them long ago. The boniness was a concern that even my wife mentioned without my prompting. It looked as if someone had taken a meat cleaver to a chicken and just hacked away at it. Jagged pieces of bone all over. Not good! There were some vegetarian options that I didn't try, and a dessert similar to Kheer, but made with skim milk, I think. It was runny like gruel. There were two employees there, I have no idea if a chef was hiding in the back, perhaps ashamed to show his or her face. These two were more interested in chatting and sitting than in doing something so ridiculous as updating the hot dishes. I am on a mission now to try and find a decent Indian Buffet. We haven't been to a good one since Sagat stopped serving the buffet during Covid. Oh, one last note: They had a sign instructing customers to reuse their plates. Really? We went with a large group for the lunch buffet. The dishes were tasty and I especially loved the dosa station, where a friendly employee was making them fresh. He made sure I got one hot off the grill, instead of one that was already made. The selection was plentiful, including the vegetarian options. They also had this insanely delicious rum pudding that I went back for on round two. My only complaints were that the vegetarian options were not marked, so unless you're already familiar with the dishes or ask an employee you wouldn't know what is safe to eat. Also, while I loved the flavor of the ice cream, it was super freezer burnt. These are easy fixes that I hope will be made when we visit next time. read more

For anyone from Andhra or a Telugu-speaking background, you know exactly how special that dish is. Just that alone is worth the visit. The overall food quality is excellent. While they don't serve a 50-item spread like some places, what they do offer (around 12 items) is well-crafted and genuinely tasty. Every dish hits the mark. As food reviewers, my friend and I put their biryanis to the test--Veg Biryani, Chicken Dum Biryani, Paneer Pulao, and Chicken Pulao--and each one had its own distinct flavor. Stumbled upon this place during my recent trip to Portland and boy was I wowed. When we walked in we were greeted with flavorful aromas of indian spices. We were promptly seated and ordered their fish fry, mutton sukka, chicken lolipop and mutton biryani. Everything we ordered was mind blowingly flavorful and delicious. Food tasted fresh and the flavors were spot on. We also ordered their masala chai which was divine! Service was great, ample parking in front of the restaurant and the prices here are very reasonable for their portion sizes. All in all highly recommend this place and I will stop by this place without a doubt to get my Indian food fix when in Portland. read more

Delightful! We had the garlic naan, tikka masala, and saag paneer. The naan was fantastic and perfectly chewy. The tikka masala was beautifully spiced with a hint of heat. The saag paneer was the perfect complement to the tikka masala and would be incredible on its own. We came here on a Saturday lunch time and they had a weekend buffet, which was nice post COVID so we can try lots of things. The curries are flavorful, with some like the shrimp curry properly spicy. I had to pause a few times to let my tongue have a bit of warm down. Plenty of meat and veggie options. There is a made to order dosa station that gave you hot off the griddle crispy dosa. Came here after trying it at a friends. The chicken 65 single portion is quite substantial. The chicken itself is bursting with flavor and has just that right amount of heat that you can keep tackling nonstop. I'm not as familiar with Indian food but I would love a spicer version of that but they said it only came in medium. We had the spinach daal as well and it was a perfect complement to the powerful chicken 65 flavor. The samosas were also very good and I like how you can order by the piece. We were seated and served pretty quickly and the server was very attentive coming by multiple times. Biryani Corner lives up to the name. I love their Paneer Biryani, very flavorful good quantity with decent serving of paneer. I usually order medium spice. Their gravy makes the biryani extra spicy though so be careful with how much you mix otherwise 10/10 Paneer Biryani for sure Their garlic naan is perfect too - big and soft with mini garlic cloves baked in it, really fresh without being overpowering. I'll admit that being from NYC we were spoiled by the huge amount of excellent Indian food all over that city. Unfortunately, we have struggled to find anything on par here in Portland (side note, if you have any recommendations, please DM me!). Thus, my girlfriend has been on a quest to fine a great spot, and we have in Biryani Corner. Biryani seems to have been an Indian buffet spot that was forced to change thanks to COVID, however the food was great. We ordered a Fish Biryani, which my girlfriend ordered spicy (she's a bold one) and I ordered the Chicken Korma. We also added some garlic naan as a side dish. Everything was great, though the spicy Fish Biryani is not for the faint of heart. We loved what we ate and will definitely be back for more. Anything not to like? We'll, its out in Hillsboro, so its a bit of a trip for food, but definitely worth it if you're craving Indian. Also, they are in the process of reorganizing thanks to COVID, so don't go in with high ambiance expectations and you won't be disappointed. We used come here quite a bit, mostly for takeout - it was our favorite Indian place. Unfortunately, something has happened in the last 3 months though - basmati rice (which used to be stellar) is now just plain steamed rice (disappointing). The rice portions per dish are served in a different container (we used to get a huge box of rice, now it's about 1 cup per dish) , it's much smaller, and it's plain steamed which is not as tasty as before. I always order Butter Paneer, and Fish Curry- they seem to taste the same, but when you pair them with unflavored plain rice, it's disappointing. Weekend buffet review: They start you off with a bottle of water per person. I'd prefer tap water in reusable glasses. The buffet spread is quite extensive, including many chicken dishes, some vegetarian dishes, a few rice options, naan, dosa, fruit, dessert, and chai. I can't quite put my finger on it, but while the dishes were not bad, I didn't really find any dishes I wanted seconds of. Maybe it's because many of the dishes were not very hot (temperature wise). The fresh-made dosas set this buffet apart from others in the area, although I believe this is only on the weekend. They come around to the tables with an iPad when it's time to pay the check. Tried the buffet two weeks ago after they have expanded. It was a total joke when it comes to vegetarian options. There are a lot of non-vegetarian options to be honest but vegetarian options are really limited. They just had two starters onion rings, French fries and some chat. Amazing food, my go to when I'm craving Indian food. I swear that their Pakoda (or Pakora depending on the place) is the best in the area. the food is just so good, and the prices are reasonable. The flavor was exceptional, with savory chicken, onion, and rice. The sauces (gravy and a yogurt sauce) were also both wonderful, and did a lot to cut the heat. The spice level wasn't absurd, but it is a kind of spice that builds and builds and never really ebbs. This, of course, made the food more filling, but also meant that by the time I finished a third of it, I was feeling a bit sick to my stomach from the spice and oil.
