    Chicken tikka masala
    Jina H.

Stopped here for lunch as I didn't know BG Food Cartel had an Indian food cart and got myself chicken tikka masala. I was told they didn't have rice yet so asked if naan was alright- won't be complaining about BREAD!! Ordering was easy, employee wore gloves, mask, and there was hand sanitizer available. There is a menu with pictures and short description. I like that there are pictures of various ingredients in the dish like items that contain onions and bell peppers, which are next to the entree- I can see it being useful for people with allergies. My order was called and I was asked if I wanted cutlery, it was given to me by the employee and a small packet wrapped that includes a thin napkin, plastic fork, spoon, and knife. The naan wasn't the freshest but stayed warm and was the perfect portion to the entree. The chicken was soft and tender where the plastic utensils worked well with it and had a good amount of vegetables like green bell pepper and red onion.

The online menu did not match the actual menu in the restaurant. Very limited choices compared to the menu.

Really good Indian Cuisine. Spiced just right. Staff has always accommodated any special food requests I've asked for.

Cook isn't wearing a mask. Server's mask was below his nose. Food is average. Or maybe below average.

Most of the dishes were good, butter chicken, nice tandoori chicken and the pakora was soft and somewhat lukewarm. The dal tasted off, but can't say why exactly. Goat and chicken mains were still good. We went on Sunday afternoon, no one was there, the place was very dark and quiet. Not the best restaurant ambience unless you like dining without disruptions. Unfortunately, there was lack of table service, no checking on food or replenishing of water. Pretty disappointing to return to what use to be one of our favorite restaurants. Check out the Hillsboro location for a better vibe.

The menu had many options, and we weren't quite sure what to get. Settled on the chicken tikka masala, lamb saag, and a side of garlic naan. Both entrees came with a plate of plain rice. The lamb saag was good, the meat was really tender and broke apart easily. However, in my opinion, the overall dish lacked seasoning. The chicken tikka masala was very watery and even then, the chicken tasted dry. Garlic naan was fragrant, but not fluffy. Overall, I'm sure there are better spots for Indian in the area.

The staff are friendly. There is a big variety of Vegetarian & non-Vegetarian dishes to try out in the buffet. As expected, typical buffets, make it mild than usual Indian style hot and spicy :) It would be nice to include the Tea than pop drinks to go with the Indian theme. The place is very spacious and clean. We went with a big group of 20+ friends and were give separate tables so we can all sit together. I liked the 3 different desserts (the Mango custard seems to be off that day but the other 2 Semiya payasam and Carrot halwa were pretty good) in the buffet, its a good surprise that they were not the usual Gulab Jamun etc. I hope they can add some spicy flavors and rotate some of the dessert options.

Ganesh was located on my way home so I have always wanted to give it a try. The first impression was alright. It's a quiet restaurant with lot of seating inside. The staff quickly greeted us and told us to help ourselves, and we did. After settling into our table, we went straight to the buffet. You will find a few selections for each dish in the buffet, there were a few deep fried dishes, a few curry selections and a few desserts as well. At Ganesh, you will find a mini salad bar and free fountain drinks as well. My favorite items were the roasted chicken, warm Indian-style donuts and the yogurt salad. Overall, we were glad trying out Ganesh. Even though we still love our favorite place, we appreciate the opportunity to compare different Indian buffets in town.

Updated in April 2026…read more We came to Desi Bite's new location for lunch. The dining area is much smaller than the previous location. The shop was quiet with some customers picking up to go orders. We went to the counter and ordered two non-veg (chicken) thali plates, a mango lassi and a chai masala. I also asked to confirm that they don't have their buffet anymore. While we were waiting, we noticed that most of the tables were dirty with food smudges and left over trash presumably from the day before since it had just opened. I tried to clean our table with paper napkins and water with little effect. So we decided to just deal with it. My husband went to the restroom to wash his hands and told me the restroom was in need of cleaning as well. As our food came. We noticed the sides on the thali plates were different too. They used to have two side dishes with cucumber, tomato, onion and crackers. The new plates were more plain, not bad, but not the same variety. The food tasted pretty good, I noticed the curries were spicer as well. That makes us wonder if there was a change of ownership/management once Desi Bites moved. It's such a shame the Desi Bites we remembered is gone..

There's…read moredefinitely a part of me that misses pre-pandemic era when lunch buffets were common place and this place is only a few blocks from my office. I got there a little after 11:30. The sign said the buffet started at 11:30 but they weren't ready, so I had to wait a little bit. Not a big deal, especially when a place is trying something new. It gave me an opportunity to check out the space. Like a lot of Indian restaurants, it's a little over the top, with the decor pushing towards opulent but not in an overly stuffy way. The buffet was setup along the bar top, and it was clear they were still figuring it out. Instead of chafing dishes and sternos, they were using electric warming trays and setting out the cookware on top of them. Price wise, it's $20, which feels like the going rate these days (i.e. it's the same as Namaste). That being said, the smaller setup and the individually cooked items meant a way higher quality of food. There was a chicken curry, mushroom magic, a daal, chicken tikka, gulab jamun and a handful of other items including a fusion quesadilla with chicken and pieces of fried paneer. The curry was fine, nothing special. The daal (I think tadka?) was a little thinner than I prefer and a slightly over-seasoned, but was good even with the over seasoning. The mushroom magic was good, but the real spotlight was the chicken tikka. With everything being prepared in smaller batches than the stereotypical buffet, this was the moistest chicken tikka I ever had, and the texture and flavor far exceeded anything I would expect from a buffet. They did bring out fresh naan, but that felt like something they were doing since it was still new/slow, i.e. they had naan on the buffet line too. The only thing I would have liked would have beeen some achar, but I'm sure that puts me in a very small slice of potential customers. Definitely see myself coming back here, and ideally dragging along some of my coworkers. tl;dr; smaller buffet with incredible quality due
