If you want to have the worst indian food ever try this restaurant. Food was horrible. Nothing tasted good . Waste of money for me . We ordered bhindi , dal tadkha and bryani we only ate the rice and some dal . Food is so bad that we didn't even ask him for a to go box .

After hours of shopping at the Columbia Employee Store, we were starving and were looking for a close place to eat. Luckily, we found this place that was only 5 minutes away As a Washingtonian, we have a great selection of Indian restaurants but I will say this place had the most creamy butter chicken, tikka masala, and saag paneer I've ever had. Also, the garlic naan was flavorful, buttery, and an order was plentiful which all dishes were excellently priced. Last, the service from Harry was excellent and the food came out quick. If you're a local or out of towner looking for great Indian cuisine, definitely go to this place.

one of the new but possibly one of the best Indian restaurants in town. South Indian style but they really create some really great entrees which is full of aroma and flavor and not necessarily so hot or spice that will hurt your spice taste. We ordered a fish curry and Thalapakattu Goat biryani and it was simply fabulous and the goat meat was very tender and tasty enough for me to taste till the last fiber of the meat. Fish curry was absolutely delicious and the appetizers were superb.....go give this place a try, you will not regret it.

We really liked Hollywood Bites, the restaurant that used to be in this space. I even got an ROTD for my review. Butter chicken is one of our comfort foods so we thought we would try Charminar House and order delivery. It was expensive. $83+ total. We ordered: Butter chicken- 4 pieces of dry sliced chicken breast in creamy tomato curry. Tasty. Mutter paneer- peas and small cheese cubes in creamy, less tomatoey curry. Kid loves this. I like sag/spinach paneeer better. Next time. Naan- rectangular, really thin, with holes like swiss cheese but nicely brown. 2 pieces for $3ish dollars. We got four, because leftovers. Chicken lollipops - smaller than anticipated but tasty. Kid was pleasantly surprised. raita - really good.Fresh and bright and tart. samosas x2- flaky pastry with yummy potato filling. They came with a spicy green chutney. A mango lassi- small but my kid loved it. rice- two small cartons. Not enough rice. I ordered everything mild, because me and my post cancer life means minimal heat. Tragic. The butter chicken was good, it was a little skimpy on the chicken and a little spicier than anticipated. But it and naan are our Indian food litmus test. We wil order again. I think we will go in person. P.S. I saw on IG an Indian person was outta rice and the chicken was gone so they mixed their leftover butter chicken sauce with pasta as a food hack- they're right, it is BOMB.We mixed ours with linguine. Yum! Do try it.

Decided to try this out and I'm glad we did. Everything we got from Charminar House was delicious. The naan was crispy and soft and the garlic was fresh but not overpowering. The Paneer Biryani was on point. Very generous portions, great presentation and tasty. The Paneer Tikka Masala was also solid, with the right level of savory, smooth and flavorful. Will definitely be back

Charminar House has opened in the former Bollywood Bites location in the Sunset Mall. There have been some minor changes to the dining area. But the buffet section and TV that plays constant Bollywood dancing remain intact. Our server was friendly and didn't seem to have any problem understanding English. My friend and I were the only two people in the restaurant for lunch so our food was served quickly. We ordered masala dosa, chicken Tikka masala and navratan korma. I'm very familiar with Indian food and this was far from five stars. The dosa was ok but the navratan korma was awful. Thick, lumpy brown gravy with heat but no flavor covering what tasted like frozen chunky veggies and a few cubes of paneer. Navratan korma is one of my favorites and this was close to being the worst I've ever tasted. My friend seemed to enjoy his chicken Tikka masala. We ordered a paneer biryani to go, which looks pretty good in its container. I think it's wise to try the lunch buffet here first so that you know which dishes might be better than others. I'll try that in the near future and update accordingly. There's plenty of parking and bus 48 stops close by.

This restaurant, located in a strip mall area, doesn't really seat that many people, but for less than $16, you can experience a really amazing lunch buffet option here. Seriously, for the price of your average food cart entree these days, you can have an all-you-can-eat, high-quality, high-variety lunch. And this restaurant doesn't just churn out the basic stuff, either. You might get a bhindi masala, or goat biryani, along with some of the more typical plates like butter chicken. They mix it up, which is the sign of a great buffet. Honestly, they do something truly special with their tandoori chicken. I'm normally pretty lukewarm on that entree, but Vanakkam's version is a really sensational one. Samosas, Naan, Raita, etc. all available too. I hope they can keep this going at this price, and if so, we'll soon be a regular, no doubt!

If you know me, you know I'm all about my dosa and South Indian food representation; so it was inevitable that I would make my way to Manam. I went on a weekend with my husband and was able to grab a booth pretty quickly. The interior is simple but clean and organized and the staff are super friendly. They definitely helped customers who were not as familiar with the menu and explained what the dishes were/spice level in good detail to them. I knew I wanted a dosa so of course, a mysore masala dosa was ordered. We also shared the punugulu, the gobi manchurian, and my husband went off script and got the hakka noodles rather than biryani or dosa. I was honestly eyeing the thali and would try it in the future too. The punugulu came out piping hot and fresh, great tasty bites. The gobi manchurian was also delish and had a good crisp to sauciness ratio. The masala dosa was muuuuch larger than I had anticipated and 100% delicious; 10/10 would recommend. My husband enjoyed the hakka noodles and the portion was great. Prices are very very fair for the quantity and quality. Loving this South Indian vegetarian addition to the Portland/Beaverton! It was empty on a Tuesday around lunch time but we were greeted warmly by who I assumed were the owners. The decor is fun, vibrant, and colorful in the small space. They are also popular with takeout and delivery. I actually really enjoyed my Lamb Vindaloo Tacos! The lamb was tender and it did have a good amount of spice. My friend and I both thought the Dirty Chicken Masala Fries and her regular Chicken Tikka Masala could have had more flavor. BUT with that said, my leftovers tasted better the next day! It really is a local mom and pop spot with such a cool concept and the food was good! I look forward to coming back on another day to try something different!

I was not a fan of the naan crust but it was super awesome to try. The chicken and sauce was amazing. Surprisingly, we got a text after ten minutes that our order was ready. Since we were close by, we went to get our food. The staff told us they needed 2 more minutes and then our food would be ready. Got our food and took it home to eat. The food: Samosas - we were expecting two large samosas, but this came in three smaller portions. Instead of a thicker cracker like exterior, these were more like a fried spring roll wrapper. These were served with a healthy amount of mint chutney. I thought these were fantastic and would have ordered more had I known how snackable they were. Butter chicken pizza - a good sized pizza with a ton of toppings. The pizza slices weren't cut that well, so we had to reslice it. When we picked up a slice to eat, the pizza flopped and half the cheese and toppings fell off. The flavor was good but I didn't think it was anything like butter chicken. Might pass for tandoori chicken. This pizza needed a couple more minutes in the oven to firm up the crust and the toppings (barely melted cheese). I feel like this order was rushed due to our early arrival and their automated messaging system. I ate a few slices reheated in the toaster oven and it actually tasted better as leftovers than the day of - better crust and had some bubbly cheese instead of barely melted cheese. Recommend the samosas and would be willing to try the pizza again. It could have been a rushed order, but it could partly be due to take-home pizza not being as good.
