This is my 300th review on Yelp! Yay! Anyway, we came here on a friend's high recommendation because everything sounded amazing! Mexican and Indian fusion?! I mean come on! Best of both worlds! I want to give a little grace in this review since perhaps I came in with high expectations so some of the dishes fell a little short because of that? It was empty on a Tuesday around lunch time but we were greeted warmly by who I assumed were the owners. The decor is fun, vibrant, and colorful in the small space. They are also popular with takeout and delivery. I actually really enjoyed my Lamb Vindaloo Tacos! The lamb was tender and it did have a good amount of spice. My friend and I both thought the Dirty Chicken Masala Fries and her regular Chicken Tikka Masala could have had more flavor. BUT with that said, my leftovers tasted better the next day! It really is a local mom and pop spot with such a cool concept and the food was good! I look forward to coming back on another day to try something different! read more

The food was good, a little spicier than I would have liked for mild but the owner was so nice and helpful he more than made up for it. The Gobi 65 was delicious but spicier than expected. Pretty dang good!! I ordered chili chicken extra spicy, and I even specified to make it "super duper" spicy in the comments. When we went to pick it up, he smiled and said he tried to make it as spicy as he could with the sweetest smile ever. And he did a great job! It was delicious and had a nice kick. We also ordered the wings, which were also delicious. And a cauliflower dish, but I forget which one. It was so tasty. I do want to try their fusion flavors, but I'm a sucker for chili chicken and all things spicy. Next time! Oh! we dis try the masala corn, too! I've lived (and eaten copious amounts of Indian food!) in NYC, LA, SJ, SF, ATL, and PDX and this chef and his fusion cuisine is on a whole new level of culinary mastery and taste bud ecstasy. They even have an ordering app where you can earn rewards points towards apply to orders! And they are only 1/2 a mile away! I noticed a new Indian restaurant opened up in the area awhile back. Wanting to a new restaurant, my boyfriend and I went, craving curry. The art on the wall was very pretty. We were greeted by the cashier who took our orders. When we sat down, he gave us waters. Our orders didn't take long. We ordered garlic naan, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Warning! The food here is VERY SPICY! I ordered the corn masala, Gobi masala and Vegetable biryani. Every item looked well prepared and tasty. But after only a few bites of each item my mouth was on fire. I like mildly spicy food but this was on a level beyond what I enjoy. The place stands out among other Indian places due to the fusion component and some specific dishes. For example they have a spicy chicken liver dish. The chicken wings is basically done on the tandoor which gives it a nice twist. Check out the place if you want to be bold and try a twist to the Indian food. read more

We tried. samosa, butter chicken, burger, loaded fries, biryani, tacos, garlic naan and masala tea. The chicken was over cooked, very hard, even in the burger it was very hard to chew. Biryani overall tasted ok.. more towards garem masala kind of flavor, samosa itself tasted nice however the oil it must have been fried in could be old as it had strong smell of oil when it's reused for a long time, garlic naan were nice and crisp. Loaded fires also tasted meh, the chicken again was rubbery, tacos were also no good in taste. Overall the food was below average, we were pretty excited for this new place however it didn't meet the expectations and excitement at all. Thank fully none of us got stomach bug or got sick as i was pretty nervous. They put loud noisy indian songs, prolly matching the ambiance but it was annoying. bathroom wasn't clean, i don't think they are high on cleanliness overall. Service was decent, no issues. We went to Pataka for the first time and really loved it. We ordered chicken masala fries, veg dum biryani, gobi 65, saag, paneer tacos, and masala chai. They were all really good. Gobi 65 had a kick to it, which worked great for us. The owner is also the main chef came out to talk with us told us how he takes great care to make sure every is made just right. The best Indian food around! So happy this place exists, what a nice fusion of Indian, American, Mexican food. The people that work here are also incredibly nice. Ordered Masala chai, It was microwaved. Smells like rice water, not even sure if Milk was added. The biggest thing I'm very unhappy with its microwaved, kills all the good properties for a good Indian tea. Very sad. read more

The Lamb Vindaloo Tacos were on point, juicy lamb in a spicy sauce on top of crispy tortillas. For dessert, definitely get the Cardamom Kulfi (Indian ice cream). The butter chicken and goat biryani is *very tasty!* Both of us are familiar with Indian food and found the flavors authentic.
