Pros- Great selection of many vegetables and proteins, and everything appears to be fresh and crisp. The buffet bar was clean, but the restaurant was just moderately busy.. Great taste on everything I ordered and service was fast. Packaging was well done, and no sauce dripped out of the bag on my drive home. Cons- This should have been a5-starr review, but I need to deduct one star for the sad expression on all the employees' faces. I even said hello to the cook as he was preparing my order, but he never made eye contact and never said a word. There is a sign up front at the cash register that says all meals come with rice and soup. When I asked about the soup, they told me that it was only for dine-in orders. Then why isn't that listed on their sign? So, I had to deduct another star for that. I would go back, but I'm just worried that I will get the same lack of customer service, especially if they happen to be more busy than today.

my bowl with rice and egg drop soup!

I have to say, this place is very hidden in the back of this strip mall and you might drive right by it if you aren't looking. I have been here twice now and both times have been really fantastic. the food is extremely fresh. the place is clean. the servers and the chefs are all nothing but kind and accommodating. I could honestly eat here every single day, i'm not kidding! I got the medium bowl ($10) with chicken, beef, broccoli, mushrooms, scallions, red bell peppers, snap peas, and teriyaki sauce, and a splash of sesame oil. they have a ton of sauces and veggies and a few different meats. you pick your bowl up as high as you can and then they cook it right in front of you. they also bring rice and egg drop soup to the table which is unlimited. I look forward to coming back!

a box of noodles with meat and vegetables

Had a bowl delivered via DoorDash. It arrived in perfect condition. It was "blow on it" hot. It was huge! Meats were tender, veggies were crisp. I loved every bite.

Very good food. Everything is fresh and organized. They also have good recommendations for sauces. It is quick and a good vibe from the place. But they don't have the best customer service.

Typical Mongolian BBQ joint. Lots of fresh veggies. For lunch they have pork, beef and chicken for protein options. I got a little of all three and my favorite was the pork. The beef was super lean, meaning it turned rather dry when cooking. I used a LOT of the flavoring sauces available, but still had to add soy sauce and chili paste when it was cooked. It still ended up kind of bland. Getting their biggest size resulted in a good amount of leftovers for lunch the next day. This was probably the best part. This is a meal that definitely tastes better after it sits. The meal comes with a bowl of steamed rice and soup. I passed on both because the noodles would be more than enough carbs and the soup was egg drop, which I'm personally not a fan of. Service was friendly and quick with our sodas. Looked like they had beer in a cooler near the front, but I didn't see a menu offering anything else. This place looks a little run down, but seemed clean. The staff seemed to also keep the food options in the bar stocked. I've been to better Mongolian places in the Valley, but I wouldn't pass this one up if I was near it and wanted a big bowl of noodles.

Loved it food was amazing the atmosphere was awesome, the people were so warm and helpful definitely will be coming back in the future

I went to lunch here yesterday and it was quite good. The decor is a little run down but the service was great. This is your typical hole in the wall Mongolian BBQ place were you build your own bowl. The veggies and noddles were pretty fresh and the meat was good. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and for a medium bowl (which was huge) and a drink it was only $9 dollars. If your looking for a solid cheap Mongolian BBQ place give this place a try and you will not be disappointed.

Stir fry without shrimp or crab

I paid an up-charge for shrimp and crab in my meal. When the meal arrived it did not include any shrimp or crab. I called and complained but they wouldn't refund the up-charge or give me credit towards my next meal. Food is decent, but not for the price they're charging.

MONGO! Well, I was a bit nervous when I first arrived at the Mongolian BBQ that is kitty-corner to Winco off of Fairview. However, I was hungry and my boyfriend talked me into it. When we pulled up, guess what is right next-door, CITY BUFFET and well all know how I feel about that place. Mongo BBQ pleasantly surprised me! The veggies looked fresh and natural (hopefully!). There are more veggies at the end of the buffet, so don't forget to save room in your bowl. The meat confused me a little bit because it is frozen. I guess that is how it is suppose to be, but be ready to be in a little bit of shock when you see it. There were lots of sauce options, and boy, do I love sauce! I had no idea what to put in the sauce, so thankfully mongo-expert boyfriend came to the rescue! Looks like he went heavy on the Mongo, Soy, Something Spicy, and Garlic. If you love sauce, I suggest grabbing another bowl and filling it up! All the veggies and meat makes this a great place for some clean eating. Seriously, you can skip the noodles my fellow low-carb dieters. I'll be back. Stayed tuned for my next mongo experience, it's going to be even better!

Too much of a good thing can be bad. I didn't want to cook tonight so we decided to go to Mongolian BBQ for dinner. We entered through the back entrance. We did stand in the front for a minute. We didn't want to just seat ourselves just in case. The server was busy chatting with some customers so the chef told us to go ahead and grab a table. We got ourselves situated and headed towards the noodle bar. I love how many veggie options they have. Cabbage, broccoli, zucchini, carrots. The possibilities are endless. I loaded my bowl up with veggies and sauces. I don't know what the hell I'm doing sometimes with the sauces but it always ends up turning out good! Our server was a little disorganized and disoriented. She gets caught up talking to guests and then loses track of what she needed to do. I had to remind her a couple times of our drink orders and that we wanted the soup. She was a little older so we gave her a little grace when she forgot things. You can't go wrong going to Mongolian bbq if you have different eaters with different pallets in your family. And it's a great way to please everyone without having to make different adjustments for everyone. It was a quick and easy dinner and I'm happy we decided on this local joint tonight.

I should have…read more I walked in on my one hour lunch break and there were no other customers in the restaurant which should have been my que to walk out right there but it was already too late anyways, the lady at the register already saw me and began to greet me. I wanted to try Vincenzo Trattoria but they were closed and I didn't feel like driving to another area so I just walked in here even though I haven't had much luck with Asian restaurants I've been to in idaho since I've moved here with the exception of a couple really good Vietnamese pho restaurants in Garden City and Nampa. I will say the woman working the register was very friendly so my one star is for her. She smiled and got me some water and rice at a table and I went over to the buffet style area to pick out my meats, veggies and noodles. I placed them in three separate bowls as that's how it worked a Mongolian grill restaurant I used to frequent in another state and the chefs there cooked them separately on the wok but then mixed them together and plated them but I guess that's unusual here. The chefs here cooked everything separately and boxed them in separate to go containers. The lady was on the phone and didn't tell them I was planning to eat at the restaurant but she got off the phone as they were boxing up the food and then they started arguing in their language. I said "it's okay, it's already boxed up so I'll just take it to go" and she rung me up and apologized a few times. It wasn't a huge deal to me but their arguing definitely was unprofessional and awkward for me as a paying customer. What really makes my review one star only is the food itself. I got to my car mixed it together and took a bite and even with the sauces I added, the food is so bland with watered down noodles, not the freshest of veggies and hard to chew meat. I stomached a few more bites but it ended up being a waste of money. It's now a little over an hour later and my stomach hurts even though I really didn't eat much of it. I won't be back.

The guy that greets you is always so sweet and nice. But every other employee in this location is rude, and smug. They all have a mean look, they raise their voices at guests, are extremely unhelpful and are overall unpleasant to be around. They also close half of their line at about 6PM and will yell at anyone who tries to use the other side. I get pre closing but doing it three hours before you close with 15 people sitting and about another 15 in line is unacceptable. I love Mongolian, but after many attempts I've decided to not ever come to this one again. Such a shame
