Mongolian is Mongolian. The food isn't the best but isn't bad, and most importantly it's cheap and you get alot of it. My review unfortunately isn't for the food. The guy that greets you is always so sweet and nice. But every other employee in this location is rude, and smug. They all have a mean look, they raise their voices at guests, are extremely unhelpful and are overall unpleasant to be around. They also close half of their line at about 6PM and will yell at anyone who tries to use the other side. I get pre closing but doing it three hours before you close with 15 people sitting and about another 15 in line is unacceptable. The food quality is good with an overall great value. The couple that greets you at the front are always wonderful - but the cooks at the flat iron grill are rude and go out of their way to make you feel uncomfortable if you don't put cash in the tip jar. For all you can eat, this place is hard to beat especially for the price. They have pretty good quality ingredients and tons of sauce options. The best part of the experience was the staff who were all very friendly to us and the other guests but most of all was the hostess. Hmmm.... Trying to figure out how to rate a Mongolian BBQ place... One of the things I like about Mongolian Grill dining is that you, as the patron, and the one who selects the ingredients, spices, and such, play a huge part in the overall success/failure of the meal. That said, I think I'll try to point out the good things about this place, and point out a couple of things that could be better. The good: The place is always clean. The veggies, meats, and other raw materials always seem fresh and clean to me, and I've learned how much of what kind of sauces I like and what proportions of veggies/meat/noodles works best. This is the closest Mongolian BBQ place, relative to our house, so we often go there when we want a quick take-home meal. The cooks always do a good job, and front counter staff is super friendly. The prices seem ok to me, especially since we always get things "to-go", which means I will have two or three lunches worth of left-overs after my dinner. Could be better: They give you a tiny amount of rice. It's almost funny how small of a chinese-food-box they have for rice, but it only holds a couple of tablespoons of rice. Maybe rice is viewed as optional, or not desired, since they provide the noodles. Still, I like rice too, and it would be nice to have a bit bigger portion. So all-in-all, this place is pretty good. Very confused, took the family here and you can use one bowl and stack it high. He cooked it for about 20 seconds, and put it back in a bowl. All three of our plates were under cooked. Pork red can't be good, I'll let you know in 48 hours when we all get sick. I wouldn't recommend this place, big let down. read more

What can I really say about this place? It is like most of the Mongolian bbqs. The place has the usual items to choose from and the night we went was a good night where most of of the containers had something in them. I must admit that I wonder where they get carrots that appear black in the middle. It's the only place in the world I have seen this phenomenon. It's a Mongolian BBQ, they're all basically the same. Very nice staff, and a very typical setup of meat, veggies and noodle to choose from. A lot of reviews complain about the food lacking flavor but...you make it yourself. If it lacks flavor, you're probably just an idiot who doesn't know how to cook in general. Do it right, and it's wonderfully saucy with crisp veggies and lovely sliced meat. Do it wrong, and you have no business complaining about a dish YOU made. read more

Quite simply, the very worst food I have ever paid to eat. The food was laid out in the opposite order of what you'd expect for a Mongolian BBQ. For example, the meat was about a third of the way down, and the bean sprouts were at the very end of the line - after you've already filled your bowl with stuff like these nasty, soggy snow peas, and clumpy noodles. I ladled on about 4 times more sauces as they recommended and my food still came out with zero flavor. Plus, the vegetables were still raw and barely warmed up after being on the bbq grill. Once the meat was done, they pulled it right off and into the bowl. The meat was very tough, too. I wish I could find something good to say, but unfortunately, I can't. The waiter was nice, however. Please know that I never write bad reviews for restaurants. But I was so appalled at my food from this place, that I needed to write an honest review for those who don't know what they are getting themselves into. This was 100% the worst Mongolian grill I have ever been to. I tried really hard to have an open mind, but either I have experienced overly incredible food before, or this was seriously just that bad. The cooks wouldn't respond to anything I said (I'm guessing there was a language barrier, and so I'll give some grace for that. I don't expect you to speak English in order to live in the US). And when they placed my food on the grill, they let most of the juices and flavors from my bowl escape off of the grill and drain away, and within 30 seconds they refilled the bowl with WATER and added it to my food. They also let my food's juices(waters) to mix with another customers- what if the other customer didn't want my spicy sauce?? (Not that it matters, because you couldn't taste it anyway.) When it came off the grill, the food was completely flavorless and the noodles were a little undercooked (when I had asked the cool to cook the noodles well done. Again- language barrier?) I had to go back to the bar and pour in some more sauces to get a little flavor in there. Even then, it was pretty bad. My friend got some crab in hers, and it was nasty and rubbery. Not okay. And if you look at the pictures with this post, you will see that they don't have the cleanest idea of what a restaurant should look like. I am have a stomach ache from the food, and a bad taste in my mouth. I'm so sad and disappointed. Please just do yourself a flavor ( ;) ) and go somewhere else to eat. This is our first time eating here. And we will not be back. One of the cook is super rude and have bad attitude when asked something. They conveniently did not wear a name tag. The lady in the cashier is very nice and accommodating. The cook poured half a pitcher of water to the "cook" food. I told the lady in the cashier how the cook is very rude and have a bad attitude. Poured a lot of water out of nowhere. I asked her if she would eat the food if it looks like my original bowl; she hesitated but she said no she would not. So she kindly told me to get another bowl and re-cook the food again without a lot of water with a different cook. I ended up telling them not to put water at all. The 2nd cook told me if I wanted no water to say it in the beginning. WELL other Mongolian place i go to, I never had a problem where the cook poured half a pitcher of water without adding any sauce like that.. and how am I going to tell the supposed professional how to cook and do their job. If I ever came back, I definitely only do it due to the lady and the other cook. Sadly the workers is not wearing a name tag so I can't tell you who to avoid. I also added side by side comparison to my "new" food and my husband's unchanged food. The difference is night and day. I give this place 1 star for the kindness of the lady. read more

Soda tastes dirty. You have to pick through the veggies because some are no good. Noodles are dry and sticky. Meat is weird, sliced, and frozen. Employees dont explain how the place works, you're kinda on your own and they hardly speak any English so it makes it hard on knowing how to do it. And how they cook it is very unsanitary. I'm from Vegas, this is a HUGE disappointment. I can say if you ever go to Vegas go to Genghis Grill! It's kinda the same concept but it's actually good and the employees are so nice read more

If I could rate it a zero. I could. The meat was cut into huge pieces so I wanted a lot but enough noodle to go with it. A worker came behind me and shoved his hand in my face and pointed mumbling something in terrible English very rudely. I then got swayed away from the meat and went to the noodles and sauces, I started adding my sauces and adding a lot of hot and spice. About towards the end and I wasn't even done with my sauces the cook came over and just took my food immediately away when I clearly wasn't finished... not even saying a word how classic a cook? Mind you the same employee who was rude to me earlier kept glaring me down as I paid for my families meal. Came home and all my spice was gone and no flavor. A little pricey but potentially a healthy meal. You are charged by the bowl size. Your goal is to cram as much meat / veggies / noodles inside as you possibly can. Bowls start at about $7 for a small. There's free white rice served, so if you want to get the most for your money, fill your bowl with meat / veggies and avoid noodles. Then, just eat that stir-fry with the rice. There's over 10 different sauces / oils to choose from. I'm hesitant partly because cleanliness concerns, but I guess because everything is cooked, that mitigates some concerns. read more

I'm disappointed to be giving such a low grade to a fairly cheap meal with nice staff, however my latest experience really soured me to this place. I found one of those yellow and black pill bugs in my noodles yesterday. I assume that it must have been in the cilantro leaves I put in my bowl. I asked for a discount on the meal since I hadn't been able to finish and received about 7 apologies but only 20% off. The staff was very sorry about it but I'm disappointed I didn't get more of a discount for something that would have resulted in a failed health code rating. read more

Every time I try to ask a question or I have a request, they act like they don't hear me and do what they want and ignore my questions. The guy today slammed everyone's empty dish and then they speak Vietnamese the whole time with the other cook the whole time that I am standing there. If you want to be harassed about your bowl size and sauce selection and insulted in Mandarin this this is the place for you. I was approach by a woman who pointed out a sign not to smash meat and then was insulted by the cooks. The margin on a bowls is usually 50% the accosting continued after an almost 30% tip. This was seriously poor counter service and incredibly rude hospitality. Do yourself and your family justice and eat somewhere else. P.S. The fortune cookies are not wrapped in cellophane, and judging by the five gallon bucket they place they're cooking wands in, you may have less than good fortune in your future. read more

I can't say I'm too impressed with this place. The owners really need to spend some of their money on updating and cleaning. Even if they painted and cleaned it would make a big difference. Some of their booth seats have rips. I don't like the fact that their fortune cookies sit out in a large box and don't come in an individual wrapped packets. I never eat them. I don't feel like there selection of veggies and meats is huge. They do have a good selection of sauces. You always have to ask for rice instead of her asking if you would like a side of rice. One star is pretty lucky... the CUSTOMER SERVICE here is horrendous. Probably the worst I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The guy at the grill gives you dirty looks while making your food (both times and to other people while we were there). The lady at the register is polite but then doesn't give you what you asked for. We've come here twice. The first time we didn't know better and the second it was too convenient to pass up. Damnit. The one off of Milwaukee and Fairview is 100% better!! Take the drive. Spend the time. It's worth it. This place is garbage and they should learn some manners. read more
