Didn't like the ambience of the physical location while I waited for my pizza to go. There was very loud rap music playing. The young gentleman who helped me at the counter was very courteous and helpful. There was plenty of toppings, but when I picked up a slice of pizza, the dough was soggy, and all the toppings fell off of it from the bottom half of the slice. The dough had no flavor either. Although the reviews on Yelp are mixed from friends, I had only heard good things about this Mombo's location. I'm glad I gave it a try. I wasn't super hungry and so a pizza slice was perfect and the size was big enough to satiate my appetite. I had the pesto pizza and it was also vegetarian and I loved it. Clean pizza spot with ample seating for larger or smaller groups. Variety of items available for ordering: such as appetizers, salads, pasta, pizza and desserts. Very friendly group of workers when we came in on a Sunday evening. Ordered 24 pieces of the bbq chicken wings. Wings were pretty tasty and good size. Enjoyed the Cesar salad. Large is a shareable size. Buffalo fries had just enough zing to it. Their pizza's are pretty thin. Didn't taste cooked all the way through. Super flimsy to hold. I was disappointed with the pizza. A pleasant surprise! Happened to be in Cotati walking around and came across Mombo's pizza and their happy hour. Tried a slice of pizza and their fried ravioli and it was very good. I would come back. The employees were very nice. Overall was a great experience. It was very quiet inside and no one was there, but I think they were about to close. read more

I grew up eating mombo's in Santa Rosa, I'd stroll over there between classes at the JC and I always thought the pizza was solidly ok. After a few decades of being away, they opened this location in Cotati and I was interested to see how they were going to be after all that time. The first time we stopped in was the week they opened. It was hectic. Nobody behind the counter knew what they were doing, and the pizza was really bad. The crust was a cracker, the sauce was dry and the cheese was dry too. We chalked that up to opening week drama and waited awhile to see if things would turn around. I was intrigued when I saw a sign outside that said "tamales" which I thought was an interesting combo to pizza so I made a mental note to try them again. We drove up and were the only people in the restaurant and I ordered one cheese and one pork tamal and hubby ordered one slice of pepperoni pizza and a scoop of gelato. Apparently this order was quite confusing because it took multiple people to figure it out. The first guy could not scoop the ice cream and had to get back up. Then there was a confusion about how many tamales I had actually ordered. I had ordered two and then they gave me three but insisted that I had ordered one of each when I actually didn't. They also heated up the tamales in the pizza oven which was interesting. Once I got my plate to the table. I was really disappointed in the quality of the tamales. The masa was extremely dry and heavy. The filling left much to be desired. The cheese one only had a very scant amount of cheese in just the end and the rest of it had none. The chicken tamal that I did not order was completely dry inside and the pork tamal was not a whole lot better. The only saving grace was the tomatillo salsa which added a little bit of moisture back but overall the tamales were pretty much terrible. The pizza, on the other hand, had not improved at all with time from opening week. It was basically the same quality that we had when they first opened so that has not changed at all. The best part of the experience was the gelato which they don't even make there but have shipped in from Marin. Overall a pretty terrible dining experience regardless of what we order here and will definitely be taking our pizza business to Mama J's down the street. read more

I've been visiting all the other Mombos for quite some time now. I just happened to be in Cotati looking for a pizza joint when I noticed they had this new location. I used their online ordering system to order myself some pick up. Ordering online was super easy and convenient. They even were sending me text updates letting me know what stage my order was at which was super helpful! I ordered a large Greek salad as well as a 15" half and half pie with a couple sides of tan h. When I got home I reheated the pizza a little bit just to get it warmed back up. The salad was good, classic Greek salad, but I enjoyed it. Our pizza was also great, same ol' classic Mombos style! Thin crust, great pesto, yummy ingredients! I came here for a pizza the other day. I'm sad to see the bad reviews for Mombo's in Costati. I have been here a few times and never been disappointed. The service is always good and the pizza is always good to great! My favorites are the pesto pizza and the mombo combo. I like the inside of the Cotati location. Enjoyed trying out some pizza from Mombo's this weekend. I love thin crust, so if you're like me I think you'll enjoy a slice! Service was quick and friendly. We ordered carry out so I can't really comment on the ambiance. I got the chicken ranch pizza, the sauce was the standout- very rich and creamy. My sister has celiac and really enjoyed her gluten free pizza! She says this is one of her favorite places so I definitely want to shout that out for any other folks with gluten intolerances. read more

I'm not sure what all of the 1 stars are about but let me tell you I've been coming here for about a year and these people have it together. I'm very happy you can still get food for a reasonable price somewhere and am grateful too. Nothing but nice very time I go there and would highly recommend. I live right down the street and Tuesdays you can get an extra large pizza for less than $30. Free refills on sodas too. Thank you Mombos and again we live in a world now that people are crazy and feel they have the right to tarnish good business' reputations. Terrible this place is just terrible. I do not recommend going here the service absolutely horrible. We got french fries and when we asked for ketchup they said that will be 75 cents for a little cup which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. The guy who took our order acted like he did not want to be there and was sure to let us know that we were inconveniencing him. I do not recommend this place. There are two other pizza shops in walking distance from this place that would be happy to take your business. the place felt crowded even though there wasn't a lot of people in the building. Got the shrimp pasta special last week and the shrimp shells & legs weren't removed. The picture on the website looks like it was properly served but when we got it to go, I guess this is what you get. Maybe that's why it was on sale cuz we had to do the work? I've been a fan of Mombo's since I found their original location in Sebastopol, eaten countless times at the one in Santa Rosa while attending the college, and the Cotati one has been absolutely excellent so far. Luke is the absolute star of the show at this location, not only does he have top notch customer service and a great personality, but he also consistently makes the best slices of pizza. I originally had his slices for the first time at the Santa Rosa location but recently i've seen him more here in Cotati, and he is just dialed in, always consistent, always friendly. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough for a slice of pizza the size of my head at around $5-7 a slice depending on toppings (at the time of writing this, late 2024). If you haven't tried this place out, try it ASAP! read more

Walked in during their " soft opening " because the open light was on , and people were sitting down to eat with food served and workers working. Had the manger get hostile and tell me they were not really open right as I walked in. Couldn't help but notice his car parked in the cross walk as I was leaving with Mombo on the customer plates. First of all, the food is fantastic--especially the pesto pizza, which is absolutely amazing. I also love their fresh, flavorful salads. We go here all the time, but today I learned what truly sets this place apart is the people. They're incredibly kind and clearly care about the community. I reached out about a donation for my son's school auction, which can be an awkward ask, but they couldn't have been more friendly and generous. I was really excited to hear Mombos was coming to Cotati.... unfortunately this new location and new style of oven does not live up to the name by any means. The new style of oven does not compare in any way shape or form. I've always loved their pies but this new location flats out sucks and so does the management.....who apparently is the previous manager at Sal's before they shut down. I remember why I stopped ordering from them, although the pies were awesome the poor attitude from the manager was enough to keep me from ordering there again. read more

I loved their pizzas and food however I don't think they can win back my trust any longer. On January 15th, I stopped by with my partner and paid with card for a few slices of pizza. I have a thing where I hate having my wallet in my pocket so I set it on the bar counter. Two girls were working up front and also a guy named Luke, I believe. I left to go home and evidently left my wallet there, except I didn't realize until the day after. I stopped by on January 16th, to check and see if I had left it there. Luke and some guy who I believe is the manager, looked for my wallet in their safe and file cabinet, and came back to me to tell me it wasn't there. Ok great, at least they checked. I had my license, good amount of cash, and all of my credit cards in there so I had to cancel all cards and get a new id card. But what if they did have it, and they just didn't look hard enough? So on January 17th, my birthday, I called and the manager answered the phone. I asked if he could check one last time as I needed my wallet for my birthday weekend, and he goes "ohhhh yes! The guy who was helping find it in the safe last night ended up finding it at the very back of the safe/file cabinet. He tried to look for you outside afterwards but you were gone. Feel free to stop by this afternoon". So I did, just for them to look for it for 30 minutes and not be able to find it again. While I was waiting for manager looking for it, Luke comes up to me and says "Look we don't have it here. I don't know why you're still here".... Excuse me? This is the guy who claims he tried to hunt me down after he ended up finding it. Management said he would ask the owner to look at the cameras and I gave him my phone number so that he or the owner could give me a call with an update within the next few days. Still no update as of today, February 12. I have a feeling someone stole the cash inside of the wallet and are too afraid to hand back the wallet. I know this ended up being my fault for leaving my wallet there but something is up with the team there and their dishonesty. How could they say they don't have it, then claim they did end up finding it, to then say they don't have it and that I'm wasting my time looking for it??? It's a shame and disappointing. read more

I couldn't wait for Cotati to open Mobo's. I have ordered 4 pizzas hoping they would be a 5 star as the Sebastopol Mobo's is. No it doesn't compare. Been to Mombo's many times in Sebastopol and Healdsburg. Always a great experience with food and service. Finally came to my home town in Cotati. Still great food. Have never received a smile or a thank you ,it's like here's your food get the f out. Really pathetic. Seating is not what you want if you just want a slice and a beer. read more

Service is so friendly & welcoming here! The gentleman & young woman that work in the evenings are awesome. I tried the popcorn shrimp, Caesar salad, pepperoni pizza & pepperoni pizza with added mushrooms, peppers, garlic & onions. & a house salad with blue cheese dressing & sides of ranch. I wasn't crazy about the popcorn shrimp, the coating was sort of an odd texture & everything had ALOT of Cajun seasoning. I didn't care for the fries either, they were overcooked & I'm not a fan of "crispy coat" fries. I also did not like the Caesar salad. The dressing tasted like mayonnaise & I wished the croutons were homemade. I really liked the pizza though! It was fantastic on both nights! I also loved the house made ranch & blue cheese dressing! The house salad was delicious. I might try some of the pastas but will most likely stick the pizza and basics. I will say that I am so happy to have a restaurant in Cotati that is open late! I am a chef and I'm always looking for a place to stop by on my way home. I will definitely return. read more

Food was good but during our last visit they were blasting inappropriate music with 4 kids under 10 in the eating room. Lots of n****r, Mother****ER, b***h, p***y. My 8 year old was clearly embarrassed. I spoke with the woman at the counter about it and she said "oh, it's my managers" and left it at that. Just good pizza! Can't speak to pasta or sandwiches, but there's a large variety of whole pies or single slices and I've yet to have something bad. Open late on some days, not too noisy even when busy, and decent price for just a slice. Staff may be new, but they are communicative and helpful. Beer on tap is cold, MANY TVS showing live sports, and gelato bar for dessert! Milkshakes are top notch too. They're definitely still finding their groove, but it's a great low-cost way to fill your tummy with New York-style pizza. The owner is lovely and kind too. read more
