Tucked away in Gravenstein Hwy sits a pizza place that one can overlook. I decided to venture out to try a new pizza and see what it was all about. I was taken away by the decor, the pool table, and a small arcade. This is definitely a place that you come and hangout with some friends. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their pizza, and they really took care of me when I told them it was my first time there. They told me that they serve New York style and Detroit style pizza. I'll have to try Detroit someday, but for now I focused on New York style. I ordered a spicy sausage pizza and a pepperoni which had hot honey. I only ever had hot honey in Los Angeles, so I was hoping it would be delicious. The spicy sausage pizza was delicious, flavors were balanced and I tasted everything they laid out. The pizza is thin so it's definitely New York style and the crust was so crispy and light. The thing I love about New York style pizza is just how edible the crust are. I feel like you can just have them as breadsticks and I would buy them. The hot honey pizza was an out of the world flavor. If I had to pick one pizza for anyone to try it's this New York Pepperoni with hot honey. This is an amazing balance of sweet and savory. We stalled in here on way to Sebastopol, it was a nice place for a quick lunch. Food: 4/5 My boys and I got a slice of pizza, my wife got a Ceasar salad with chicken added. We thought the food was good. The pizza had a sourdough crust and was really good. The salad was fresh and had a good dressing. Customer service: 5/5 We had great customer service from the staff that was working. They were polite, quick and had the restaurant cleaned up nicely. Ambiance: 5/5 They had a few pinball machines reasonably priced (50 cents a game) and a pool table that was free to play. It was nice to play a game with the boys after enjoying our food. They also had plenty of seating between indoors and their outdoor patio. Price: 2.5/5 I thought it was a little over priced, but I know this is pretty normal for eating out at a place like this. The pizza was about $8-9 a slice, the salad it was $19 ($14 +$5 for the chicken). The total for 3 slices and a salad was about $50. We tried the Detroit style pizza which is basically a focaccia bread with pizza toppings and sauce. What sets it apart from other pizza(s) like Chicago style. Is the crispy edges and crusty bottom. Also, there is less sauce and cheese. We ordered one Detroit couch potato (bacon, fingerlings, parsley ) and one Detroit ranch (chicken, bacon, ranch). Both were delicious and definitely had crispy edges. The sauces were a little too much and I would request light on the sauces next time. They were squeeze bottle on top and a lot! Anyway, the four of us did enjoy the pizza a lot. It was the first time for my wife and I. So, if you like NY, Chicago, or Detroit they have the pizzas for you. It was our first time here, and we came as a group of four. The first thing we noticed almost immediately was how hot it was inside, despite there being three air conditioners in the room. None of them were on, even though it was 78 degrees outside. Weird... The pizza was mediocre at best. We ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza (pretty simple). Apparently, adding mushrooms cost an extra 3$. Our friends got the Detroit pepperoni pizza, which was also just ok. Both pizzas lacked flavor. I would say the prices don't match the quality. The service was ok, nothing outstanding. We could barely even notice any af the workers since they were quiet and not very friendly/talkative. The prices are a tad high, but what isn't these days? The total for a pizza (that feeds 2-3 people) and the salad came to $48. The salad we had was really tasty with lots of goodies in it. Sadly, the pizza lacked flavor. It looked great and I liked the crust, but was quite bland- even after adding Parmesan & pepper flakes. Awesome pizza place kinda in the middle of nowhere, outside of Cotati, going towards Sebastopol on 116. They have an outside patio to sit and the inside is very big and open with windows all around so it's a nice ambience to hangout enjoy your day watch the cars go bye and there's farm lands around the back as well. There was actually a chicken hanging out last time I was there I love chickens, so that was cool, I guess it doesn't really belong there though they were trying to find it's home. The workers were very friendly and efficient. The food was obviously very good or I would not have given four stars. They even serve pizza by the slice which is fine and they had a pretty nice solid menu. I'm not sure if there was beer wine or liquor because I was kind of in a hurry. Just grabbing some food to go home. I do plan to go back there though and eat with my family bc it seemed like a good kid friendly place especially on the patio where my toddler can wander a bit and look around while we wait for our food. read more

Pizza is very good and different since I got the Detroit pizza. Best deep dish type of pizza I have ever had. The pizza was airy but thick and the sauce was amazing. We also got the meatballs and it was great, but when ordering online it said it would be ready by 7pm, though we ended up getting a text message that it was ready at 6:30pm, so we ended up not getting there fast enough and the meatballs were not warm. The pizza was warm, but not the meatballs. Then when ordering the meatballs it comes with volcano bread and for some reason the bread was very hard to chew. I give 5 star still though because this is a pizza place and the pizza was amazingggg! Service was okay as they were busy and it seemed as if only one person was helping pick up orders and taking people on register, therefore we waited a few minutes to get our food. The actually restaurant was cute and had a great patio area with cornhole! Food is expensive, but worth it. For meatballs and pizza it ended up being around 42 dollars. Tried to come with a group for pizza, drinks, and trivia. All of the tables outside were taken 45 minutes before trivia started, each with only one person holding the table. Despite being a group of six ready to order, the restaurant made no attempts to accommodate us. Instead they allowed people to wait and hold tables for their groups arriving later even if they weren't ordering anything. We would have stayed but had a dog with us so couldn't change our plans to sit inside. This place should make it easier to spend money or at least limit other people from taking tables unless they ordered food or drinks. I had such a wonderful experience at the New Cotati location of Acre. The outdoor space was expansive (and had outdoor heaters!) and the inside space was clean, large, and perfect for the vibe of great food in a pretty casual setting (bring your coworkers, parter, friends, kids, or any combination.) You could grab a quick slice and a drink, or wait a few minutes for a wonderful freshly made pie (or volcano bread, which is my recommendation.) One thing that really set this restaurant apart was the staff. Literally I have never had a better experience in a restaurant. They were so friendly, and it is obvious that they have extremely high standards for customer service. Ordered the Detroit Pepperoni pizza. It was excellent. It sure seemed to be very authentic based on my little bit of research of this type of pizza. A bit expensive but it was sure tasty. The marinara sauce was an excellent and was poured in two lines along the pizza just like the authentic pizza. Also had a craft beer. They have about 5 different beers to choose from. The location is great. It's very clean inside and the service was excellent. As we were leaving, it was nice to hear a thank you for coming from the manager, which I think all places should do as you're spending hard earned $$$ to dine at their establishment. We decided to hive Acre a try based on the great reviews. We ordered the Detroit style pepperoni pizza which was about $28 to go. I was told it would be ready in about 20 mins. Unfortunately when I came back 20 mins later it was not ready yet. 30 mins later it was still not ready yet. When I finally got my pizza I jaw fell to the floor. $30 and I was handed a personal size box. Literally the pizza was 4 slices!!! Granted I should've read the size before ordering but damn I have never had a pizza this small for $30! Are you kidding me?! It was definitely not enough for my fam of 4 but we were not going to wait another 30+ mins and another $30 in the hole. The pizza itself was good don't get me wrong, but not for $30 for 4 slices. This is hands down the most expensive pizza we have ever ordered since we would need 2 to feed 4. Just beware before ordering Detroit I think I definitely would have gotten the thin crust if it meant it was a normal pizza size. read more

I know I am late to the party but wow, Acre puzza, is really really good. The 72 hour fermented dough (I asked ) is delicious and so darn flavorful. Chewy and crisp...even Dave Portnoy would approve of the no flop undercarriage. The cheese was a very unique and tasty blend. Tomato sauce was spicy and lightly applied...as it should be. I had the NY pepperoni and my wife the mushroom. I've had the Detroit and it's also tasty. Lots of specials . Service is great and they have solid selection of beer. Wine was meh. My recent visit to Acre Pizza was an exercise in frustration and patience. The evening began with a seemingly simple task: getting our ordered pizzas to our table. However, the staff managed to turn this into a comedy of errors that left me questioning the competence of the entire operation. To start, our server dropped our food at the wrong table. Rather than promptly rectifying the mistake, the staff opted for a silent approach and decided to place a new order without informing us. It was only when we proactively inquired about our missing pizza that the truth came to light - an unnecessary delay and an aggravating revelation. The lack of communication and accountability on the part of the staff was disheartening. Waiting an additional 30+ minutes for the replacement pizza only added insult to injury. While I can appreciate a good pizza, the overall service left much to be desired. Despite the deliciousness of the pizzas, the experience was marred by the incompetence displayed by the staff. It's evident that there is a need for retraining and better communication protocols within the establishment.
