Jennifer explained she had a client coming in for a haircut, but told me she would help me and had her other customer work with the other hairdresser. I NEVER leave bad reviews, but y'all need to pay attention. Asked for ONE inch off and just a TRIM for split ends and they took (hairstylist Robin) almost THREE inches off, Also got stuck with a color I only semi liked as I was pressured into not bleaching when that was what I wanted. Robin also mixed two colors together when I had chosen one. I also STILL somehow had split ends. Really need to look into my specific type of hair stylist I guess. read more

Finally a salon that is open on Monday's!! So pleased I found this salon. Dana, the owner and amazing stylist, was available to perm and cut my Mother's hair. Once upon a time, I used to be a very pretty person. I would visit Hair Express West (now Molly's Salon) all the time for Theresa. I'm not sure if she's still there or not, but Theresa gave the best haircuts I've ever received for about $3 more than Fantastic Sams or Great Clips. You just can't complain when someone goes to the hard work of actually trimming your eyebrows for you. Fantastic. Theresa was also the one who dyed my hair when I went through my "rebellious pretty person" phase - and she did an excellent job of it. Included in the price of the haircut were a shampoo and neck shave, not to mention that everyone in there treats you like you're a rockstar - and that's the most important part, anyway. read more

I got my hair cut here for the first time today by Robin, although it was a basic cut, she did an incredible job and clarified with me how much I wanted chopped off. Most importantly, These womxn CARE about covid, I got my temp taken as i entered, they were so great about making sure everything was sanitized, there was plexiglass between my chair and the person next to me, they were wearing masks and required their clients to as well, and lastly, there is no contact payment to decrease exposure. I was out of there in less than 30 minutes. Super cute and quant little salon. read more

I love Molly's!!!! Abby has been my stylist for 2 years now, and I love her! She is very honest with me, and is not afraid to tell me that what I like won't work the way I'd hoped. But she has also has been instrumental in helping me try new styles and colors-even purple. Which I love! Disclaimer: I have not actually gotten my hair cut here but I was with my wife when she did. My review is basically the same advice I gave my wife after she got her hair butchered: If you walk into a salon and all the ladies have the same terrible hair cut, don't expect them to do anything better for you. It's been nearly a month and my wife still almost cries when she looks at her hair. I went to see Robin for a cut and color. I was SO pleased with how my hair turned out. I had a lot of split ends and dryness at the ends of my hair. I also was really sick and tired of the color. It was brown, but had faded so it had a lot of reddish, copper tones in it. Personally, I did not like the way it looked on me and was just unhappy. Robin did such an amazing job coloring my hair and cutting it. It now looks so healthy and beautiful. It's a dark brown/black color and has blended layers which i love. All of my friends and even strangers have complimented me!! I have never been happier or more confident with my hair. Also, the pricing was so reasonable, so I would definitely recommend going here. The only hair salon in town that could give me a same day appointment, within an hour of me calling. I wanted my ash blonde hair bleached to platinum and insisted it wouldn't take long, but every salon in town told me that since they hadn't worked with my hair before, they didn't want to risk running out of time. I've been dying my hair for years so I insisted it would be quick. They all said no except Molly's, who booked me for that same day. My fragile hair survived the bleach, and they threw in a toner and a deep conditioner, all for $100 (a total steal for medium length hair)! I think my stylist was Jen but I'm awful with names--she had blonde hair. Totally recommend, I was treated much better here than the other salons in town. read more

I've been to a lot of Salons around Fort Collins and this was by far the best experience. I called to ask for a color touch up/ hair cut, they were able to schedule me quickly and the service was excellent. I felt very welcome. On top of all that, they colored and cut my hair quickly and effectively, and I really love the way my hair looks right now. Not a good experience. I went here for the first time and the woman working on me did pretty terrible. She started by nearly cracking my skull on the sink when she didn't tell me when she was lowering the back of my chair to wash my hair. She never let me fully explain how I wanted my hair cut and started right in without knowing what I wanted and then arbitrarily started hacking at my bangs to the point I had to stop her and guide her through where she should cut and the end result was still pretty ugly. I received the absolute worst haircut of my life at this place. I requested a haircut by Robin. I showed her 3 different pictures of the type of hairstyle that I wanted (a medium length cut with face framing layers and a blended side bang). For the layers, she cut a single straight shelf into my hair in the back about an inch above the longest part of my hair. After explaining that I wanted my hair to actually have the layers blended in and to be angled from the front to frame my face, she chopped a huge hole into one side then proceeded to try to cover it up by taking thinning shears and thinning the crap out of it to get the hole to blend with the rest of my hair. The front was never even layered either (again, I was very specific with what I wanted and provided multiple pictures). After expressing my dissatisfaction multiple times and having her go through and continue to try to fix it, I ended up with a hair cut that is so bad, it awakened the beast within my hairdresser mother who offered to drive halfway across the state for a weekend to fix my hair for me. My hair is that bad, people. My once beautiful thick healthy hair is now this thinned out catastrophe of awfully constructed shelves that are poorly blended by the use of excessive thinning shears to try to cover a mistake rather than fix it correctly with an appropriate cut. She blamed the fact that she was unable to layer my hair correctly on my dyed hair (the underside of my hair is dyed as opposed to the rest of my hair, she said the different color made my hair look funny so that's why the layers don't look correct) and the fact that my hair is so thick. In conclusion, I am very sad. And now I have my angry mother in hot pursuit to fix my hair, so thank you for that. If I could provide an accurate rating for this place, I would have to give it a -17/10, would never visit again. read more

Visited Molly's yesterday (SUNDAY) for a haircut by Robin at noon. I was nervous and explained this to her and she assured me she had been doing hair for 32 years and she could handle the style I wanted. My hair was layered and setting at shoulder length. Robin seemed friendly enough, but was shaking a bit while cutting my hair. I figured this was just nerves and didn't think much about it. I specifically explained to Robin that the last place I visited gave me a longer version of a Dorothy Hamill and I DIDN'T like it. I also explained I DO NOT want thinning shears or a razor on my hair due to how fine and thin it is. I asked her to give me a straight bob, even in length all the way around. After Robin had "finished" my hair it was an inch shorter on my left side and the back was longer than the front, again a sort of Dorothy Hamill. I had her "fix" it which she did by using neck hair trimmers to re-shape my haircut. She asked if I liked it and I lied and said yes because I didn't want her to cut anymore of my hair off since she just couldn't get it even. Robins next client had arrived so i guess she decided she was done and never bothered finishing styling my hair. What was done to it was a flat iron on damp hair (A BIG NO NO) and she bent the ends inwards like a bell. I walked out with my heart in my throat and thirty dollars poorer. Believe it or not, I went to lunch as I had planned and decided I couldn't sport this new look, my husband agreed my hair was jagged and uneven in many spots. We immediately drove to Great Clips on Lemay Ave where Katie fixed my hair. I ended up over an inch shorter than planned due to repairs. I have to say that at least my hair looks normal now and is obviously even ALL OVER. It's a shame this all happened and I was shocked since Molly's has all good reviews here on yelp. Why would they let Robin run the shop alone on Sundays? Maybe Molly's is a good business but Robin couldn't handle a simple bob after 32 years experience. My advice is visit at your own risk, but don't put your hair in Robins hands unless you don't mind going for a 2nd haircut somewhere else and having a longer time to wait to grow your hair back out. read more

They've laways done a great job and they're fun to be around, Now that Dana has bought the Elizabeth Street store my entire family knows where to go for great service at wonderful prices. I cannot remember my stylist's name, but I wanted to praise her work either way. I went to a MUCH more expensive place a few weeks ago when my hair was past my waist. I asked for about 4 inches taken off and ended up with staggered layers that stopped around my shoulders. Not only did she take off an extra foot or so, but I ended up with plain old ugly hair. (Fortunately, I'm not one to get too broken up about cutting off all of my hair). I went to Molly's today to get it fixed. I'm now sporting a short, tapered bob that works perfectly for my face. It cost me 2 feet of hair altogether, but it looks great. Additionally, the stylist asked me about the products that I use. I don't use anything but a blowout cream, so that's exactly what she used to finish the cut. I have NEVER had a stylist cut my hair according to what it would look like a day later. Every other stylist that I have seen will use a gallon of product to get my hair perfect for the afternoon and just assume that I will spend 3 hours a day and $200 a month getting it like that until I'm ready for the next cut. read more
