They are very nice and polite. Prices are very high and more than it quoted online so be prepared. The place is very cute and stylish. My reason for 2 star is price but the biggest is that my cut was not how I exactly wanted it and left a few strands an inch longer than the rest. I called 3 days later and left a message to come get it fixed. The stylist herself never reached back out to have me come back in and fix it, the salon left me a voicemail that the stylist would call, but I never received one. Let me start by saying that I have never left a yelp review in a my life before this, so the fact that I downloaded this app just to warn you should tell you enough. I saw Ali for a bleach and tone root retouch and she was very nice, but holy cow she wrecked my hair. Roughest hair stylist I've ever had. Yanking and rubbing my hair with a washcloth against the grain while it was freshly bleached and therefore in a more vulnerable state. She admitted that she accidentally overlapped the bleach on the entire bottom of my head leaving it dry and broken from the roughness and pulling. The most violent hair wash I have ever experienced. Idk if she was in a rush or just hated me. I left with broken hair, dryer than it has ever been in my 3 years of bleaching, still wet (even after I told her), and a neck still covered it bleach. I wish I could undo this experience and it cost me over $150. read more

Ruined my entire day. I have gone to this salon for maybe two years now and have recommended it to all my friends who now go regularly as well. I like this place so much that I still make appointments here even after moving to Denver. I've also never been late to an appointment. Today I had finally gotten a slot with my preferred stylist and had left Denver with enough time to arrive with an extra hour of time so that I could do work in town and make sure I wasn't late. So when they suddenly closed I-25 at exit 259 and I had 40min added to my drive I made sure to call them and tell them that there was nothing I could do to get there in time and that I may get there 10min late. The woman on the phone could care less. She said if J wasn't there at exactly 2:30 they had to give it away. I understand that stylist time is valuable- I'm not trying to negate that-- but it was entirely out of my control. I told them to not cancel it yet because maybe it would get better. I ended up with an ETA that said 2:45 and so when I called a second time and asked if there was anything they could do they said no and even said they couldn't give me my deposit back. I'm a broke college student and I kept coming back even though the distance because I knew I would get the results I wanted in a haircut but now I've wasted my deposit and all the gas and I have to just turn around and go back to Denver even after sitting in standstill traffic for an hour. I told my friends about this and they were all shocked by the lack of understanding the staff had. Wish I could have talked to my stylist at least. I went to Amber at studio be two weeks ago and I asked for long blended layers. I left the studio with extremely choppy layers, it looks almost like I have poorly blended extensions when I don't have any extensions. When I asked for layers she acted like she was confident In doing exactly what I showed her a picture of. I have tried multiple hair styles to make it look good and it just looks awful! I love Studio Be! I always go to the Old Town Square location, and I couldn't recommend Mayra enough. She's an amazing stylist and so easy to talk to. The complimentary scalp massage feels wonderful, and I love the Rejuve treatment to bring the ends of my hair back to life. I'm always really picky about where I get my hair cut because I'm growing it out and don't want too much trimmed off, and I completely trust Mayra to take care of my hair. Studio Be is also fully compliant with COVID-19 restrictions, and I feel totally safe and taken care of when I go. TL;DR:Unprofessional. Gaslit the customer. Go ANYWHERE else. Extremely unprofessional. Which was sad given that we had spent over $330 on a color and cut and had an unfortunately negative encounter. Much of that money was taken AFTER the appointment and was an "add on" that was not disclosed beforehand. Annoying, but understandable. The stylist scheduled the appointment too short despite having worked with this customer and their hair previously. Again, annoying, but understandable. However, following the first appointment, which ended up just being color because of time constraints, the result was far from what was expected. My partner entered the salon with the intention of receiving a balayage for previously beautiful bleach-blonde hair. The stylist was friendly but over-zealous with her advice about what to do with the hair. We began explaining the desire behind the balayage was to blend the darker roots with the lighter blonde. Sadly, in the stylist's excitement (or rush?) she jumped to the conclusion that low-lights would be the perfect solution. My partner has some social-anxiety, and telling someone they are wrong can be difficult; she tried to explain that balayage was what she wanted, not low-lights. The stylist SEEMINGLY understood and began mixing products. In the chair it can be difficult to truly see how the hair is looking, however, after returning home and showering a few times, we could clearly see that the result was NOT what was intended. Perhaps balayage and low-lights can have similar outcomes, but this has not been the case here. The hair is much darker than planned, thick black streaks poke through the underside of her hair, and the color is uniform as opposed to the "fade" or "ombré" typically seen with balayage hair styles. We returned a few days later for the actual hair "cut" portion of our appointment. We let the stylist know that we wanted to chat about how the hair had turned out and discuss some options going forward with a result we weren't thrilled with. Disappointingly, this is where things get worse. We came in and began to discuss the differences between the way the hair looked currently and the vision that was discussed. The stylist proceeded to gaslight my partner. When referring back to the ONLY reference picture in their camera roll, my partner was told by the stylist that she had NEVER seen that picture and that my partner had asked SPECIFICALLY for low-lights. I can assure that isn't the case. There was only one reference picture and it was of a balayage hair style; which came as a result of searching "balayage hair" on Pinterest. Instead of trying to work with us, the stylist insisted that my partner never showed her that picture and the resulting lackluster hair was in fact our fault for telling her the wrong thing. I strongly disagree with that assessment of the situation. We asked for a refund because we were not satisfied with the result and felt that we did not get what we had paid for. They offered to refund the cut (which hadn't even happened yet) and MAYBE refund the coloring pending approval from the manager. Things get worse from here. After calling the manager, my partner was told that their hair "looks great." That OPINION, regardless of accuracy, does not address the fact that it is NOT what was REQUESTED. The manager refused to give even a partial refund, then proceeded to tell us that her stylist "would never" treat us the way we had been treated. Sadly, that's exactly how we were treated. I began to explain to the manager that my partner has some social anxiety and needs the opportunity to finish her sentence before being interrupted by the stylist's ideas. My partner needed the stylist to LISTEN before interjecting her own ideas, and even beginning work, without enthusiastic consent and confirmation from the customer. As I explained this issue to the manager she said something to the effect of "I'm actually done with this phone call, you can speak with my business partner." and proceeded to hang up the phone. I have pretty thick semi curly hair so I did not mind paying for an extended cut which was $80 plus tip. I got my hair washed, a trim, and my hair blown out which took most of the time because I have a lot of hair. Not sure if the staff is comfortable working with wavy thick hair since I was advised to see someone who has more experience doing curly cuts. The staff were friendly and the cut was not bad just not what I was looking for. Overall I think the $80 was quite a bit for the amount of hair I got cut. I was charged for full highlights even though I just got foils to cover up the roots and was charged for color and shading which I never asked for or was made aware of. Please note that this review is not a reflection of my hairstylists actual results of the work she did on my hair. She did a wonderful job, on both the cut and color. I have been going to Studio Be for over a year. Every time they have emailed me and texted me reminders for my appointments. In this case, they did not send me a reminder, and I had my appointment down for another weekend. I got a charge for $70 on my card, in which I marked as fraudulent since my card was not present. Turns out Studio Be charged me for not showing up for my appointment. When I called to see what happened, they told me that they didn't have my contact information on file and that I missed my appointment. First off, why would you not have my contact information on file, but keep my credit card on file and charge it without my consent?? I get being considerate of the hairstylists time, but the business practice of keeping your card on file WITHOUT alerting the clients, is unethical business practices. Secondarily, they had emailed and texted me for previous appointment reminders, so I know this is untrue. Truly disappointing business practices that should be reported to the better business bureau. read more

I'm sad to say my first experience getting my hair dyed did not go as planned. I went in asking for a full transformation and after spending $200 no one has even noticed I got my hair dyed. I wish the stylist would've communicated how dark my hair would remain even after lightening it, because I thought it would be so much lighter and more vibrant. I showed her photos and my hair looks nothing like the photos. I spoke with management and they didn't have any real solution for me. I wish I had known before going through with the service that it would pretty much look the same as when I walked in. I took a chance with Laurie K., and I'm so glad I did! She is amazingly talented with hair and is such a sweet person! She listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me the blonde of my dreams. Laurie is also so kind and remembers personal facts about me and we have great conversation. Finally I can sit back and relax knowing she will kill it. Laurie is also great with education and is intuitive to my level of knowledge. I use professional products at home and she will always recommend something to try but is never pushy with sales. Please note, I can be particular and picky about my hair, especially after some bad experiences with other salons in the past. I was recommended Studio Be from a friend and was hesitant after experiencing my less than stellar experiences at other places. Yet when I went in for a free consultation, I felt listened to and felt at ease. During my first haircut the stylist (Rosie, who has since moved out of state) was kind enough to show me how much she was cutting off and letting me have input. In all my years of hair cutting no one has ever shown me how much they were going to take off. She even let me see how it looked in back as she went along. Amazing! Over time I grew bold enough to start coloring, definitely a sign I trusted my stylist! Kacy has been my stylist the past few years and she is so talented. I feel so blessed to have her do my hair. Not to mention she is incredibly kind and patient. She always takes her time with my hair! She is very transparent, which I appreciate. I love her honesty since she can help me nail down a color or style or being realistic about what might need a few sessions or what may end up damaging my hair (hair health/length is a big deal for me). She also has great tips for hair care and maintenance (a must if you want to keep your color). Most importantly she always listens and isn't afraid to ask questions to clarify anything. At this point she knows my style enough that it makes it so easy to come in. I trust her 100% with my hair! Before Studio Be that had never happened! Since coming to Studio Be, I constantly get compliments about my hair. They definitely don't know how to work with thick, full, and straight hair. Moreover, if you're not happy with your cut, they will guilt trip you and make it seem like your hair is the culprit of looking terrible, and definitely NOT due to their shoddy workmanship. *major eye roll* I called and specifically requested a hairstylist who knows how to work with my hair texture and was recommended Stephanie, a junior stylist who apparently had rave reviews. Since this was my first time at this salon, I gathered a couple of pictures for inspiration. - check pics below - What I requested: full layers that are not too sheared in order to bring out my natural volume. Now, I'm fully aware that every Pinterest picture of gorgeous hairstyles requires excessive styling on top of a good cut. I definitely did not expect an exact imitation of the picture. However, I did expect similar cutting technique and staying close to the length and shape of the picture. I had my suspicions when Stephanie beveled my hair BEFORE cutting it...who does that? Shouldn't you cut the hair first and then style so that you'd know how much to cut and where the shape will occur? Furthermore, her sad attempt at layering meant shearing it to a point of oblivion that my bottom layers were uneven and too thinned out, making my hair look ratty. NOT what I was going for! - Again, check my pictures for proof - I called the salon the next day explaining that I was not happy with the cut and they set me up with another junior stylist, Rebecca, who'd try to fix it. The day of, I told Rebecca what happened with my haircut and pointed out the strange directions that my hair was sticking out. She came up with excuses on why it was doing that. "Your hair bends that way because of your face shape." "Your layers look uneven because of your highlights and lowlights." UH, I'M PRETTY SURE IT BENDS THAT WAY BECAUSE OF THE ABYSMAL CUT THAT WAS PERFORMED ON ME. I guarantee you my previous layers did NOT "bend" like that. And okay, even if my bone structure or face shape is a certain way, then CUT IT so it matches with me. I've had many haircuts in the past where the layers fall beautifully on me. So why is my hair doing that NOW? So conveniently after a cut at Studio Be? LMAO. The ultimate kicker: after the "fix," Rebecca laughably tried to push more product on me to purchase. Thanks but no thanks, Studio Be. Why you have so many good reviews is beyond me. I've had some bad haircuts over the years, but this place takes the cake. They served me my worst haircut of all time. Studio Be is an oasis of relaxation and pampering. I walked into this salon a couple years ago with a disastrous head of "school bus orange" hair that another salon kept messing up. I have blonde hair. I was exhausted and discouraged. Mil took me under her genius care and transformed my hair. It took a few visits to completely correct what had been done, however she was able to work her magic immediately. I felt beautiful the very first visit. Mil truly is a genius with color and everything else. I like to change things up and she is incredible to work with. What can I say about Studio Be?! I love this place!!! I came here a few years ago and had a wonderful experience several times with a stylist who no longer works at this location. After that I let my hair grow out for a couple years... Just a few months ago I came back and started seeing a new stylist, Stephanie L. She is the most kind, attentive, and gifted artist with which I've ever had the pleasure of working on my hair. She listens to what I want, but also gives her professional opinion on what would suit me while prioritizing the health of my hair and scalp. I trust her with my locks and that's saying something! I have seen her twice now. The first time I brought a photo reference which she recreated it to a T! It was so perfect I almost cried. The second time I didn't know exactly what I wanted. I think telling her that made her excited because she had several fabulous ideas of looks I could try in order to get something different but not permanent. We ended up doing a very semi-permanant rose gold. I looked amazing when I left Studio Be, and my hair still looks incredible after each wash fades the color just a little. It's fading evenly and looks professional and chic every day. Studio Be is a Paul Mitchell salon, so they do love their products. However, I have never been pushed with any hard sell type of techniques. I do buy some products, but always ones I ask about or I buy several days after an appointment because I saw the difference.
