I gave 1 star because Jennifer has a super sweet smile and demeanor. Super sweet. However, from our perspective, she struggles with color and following instructions. She messed up the color and I had to repeat myself several times to get her to fix the haircut. I took my daughter there to get her hair dyed, for her 11th birthday. Jen assured is that how she was doing it, the color would definitely pop out. The color did not pop as my daughter wanted. In fact you could barely tell it was colored at all. My daughter kept asking Jennifer about using "permanent" color and for some reason, Jennifer kept steering her away from it. Our appointment was at 3:45 but they called an hour in advance to ask us if we could come in later because Jennifer was running 45 minutes late. We got there at 4:30 and left close to 7:30. Jennifer knew we weren't pleased with the color, it was obvious she didn't do what my daughter wanted, so she said she would fix it. We went in again Monday for another 3 hour visit. This time you can see the color but it's splotchy and large sections are still the natural color which makes the hair look stripey and not blended nicely. My daughter asked for the entire head to be colored except for the very thin top layer. Jennifer didn't follow direction at all. Some of the purple pieces have light spots. The color wasn't left on long enough to be absorbed so you can see the lifted blonde color showing through. A ver super terribly disappointing experience. My daughter had asked me if I could do it but I told her a salon would do a pro job. Psh... I could have saved myself 6 hours, disappointment, and $150. Maybe my daughter was right in thinking I might do a better job with a box, at home. Too expensive for what we got. Actually, I wouldn't pay $20 to walk out with messed up hair. read more

Whitney is my GIRL!! I've been seeing her for about 2 or 3 years now, and started back when she was at a previous salon. Seeing her at Bask has been AMAZING. Not only is she so talented, she is one of the sweetest girls ever and such a joy to see every time I need to get a trim. I've been seeing Whitney for so long she already knows what I like as far as my hair goes and we just chat the whole time. The salon itself is beautiful. It's very large with a 'warehouse' kind of feel to it. The front desk girls are super sweet as well and offer something for you to drink right off the bat. I haven't tried any of the hair products they offer but most of my stuff I use now is running out (Paul Mitchell) so I'll probably pop in to try out some of the products they carry. Highly recommend Bask and HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Whitney! read more

I think this place is super over rated and not worth the money. Obviously I only tried it once for a haircut and I am not satisfied. My experience there was unpleasant. I bet Supercut could have given me a better haircut. SO, maybe don't be like me and just randomly pick a stylist to give your a haircut. I moved to Fort Collins from Atlanta, where there are a lot of high end, super nice salons. Bask is one of the best salons I've ever been too, anywhere. They are friendly and the space is really nice and calming. I've seen Kirsten twice for a facial and plan to go regularly to see her. My skin is not used to the dry air here and the intense sun. I have had a hot stone massage from Valerie - Oh My God. I can't say enough about Valerie and her amazing massage skills! And she's super nice as well. I have also gotten a cut and color and I can't for the life of me remember the name of the stylist. But she was very good! I feel very lucky that they were the first salon I tried when I moved here and they are just awesome, so I don't have to keep shopping around! read more

Bri did my hair for my wedding and it was AMAZING. She was fantastic to work with right from the beginning. She gave me a little gift and products to use in my hair for the big day. So sweet. She was on time the day of the wedding and did a fabulous up-do's for my mom, mother-in-law and maid of honor. We did a non-traditional style for my hair and I LOVED it. VIRGINIA AND HEATHER ARE AWFUL, RUDE PEOPLE. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. The worst customer service I have EVER encountered - Just AWFUL! The most unprofessional two people I've ever had to deal with. Both the hairstylist (Virginia) and the manager (Heather) were more inclined to insult me and berate me than to own up to their mistake and make things right. I went to *Virginia* to get some color done. Aside from the fact that I am unhappy with the dye-job, while sitting in her chair for 5 hours, she draped my clothing incorrectly and allowed dark hair dye to drip down my back and soak the top of the black cardigan sweater I was wearing. I mentioned to her that my sweater felt very wet as I was leaving, she attempted to blow dry my sweater, but after being in the salon from 9am - 2pm I was hungry and ready to leave. After I got home, I put that sweater into my laundry basket and there it sat for 3 days. When I finally did that load of laundry containing my sweater, it dyed everything that was white a pinky-brown color. It was at that point that I realized my sweater had been wet from hair dye. My sweater was black, so it now has light pink stains all over it. And the J-Crew white shirt I was wearing underneath that sweater had brown stains around the collar. I called the salon and talked to the front desk girl about what had happened. She said she would talk to Virginia and the manager and someone would get back to me. A couple hours later the same front desk girl calls me back and informs me that after talking to Virginia and the manager, there is nothing they can do for me. Apparently, Virginia claimed she would have realized that there was hair dye on my sweater and the manager and Virginia both feel there is nothing they can do for me. Unsatisfied with this, I took in the clothes that I had worn the day I got my hair dyed with the stains and a white shirt from my laundry disaster to show them that, in fact, there was dye on my clothes. I dislike having to be confrontational, but, I felt that if I showed them what had happened to my clothes they would see reason and compensate me accordingly. My fiance went with me as moral support because, like I mentioned, I do not like being confrontational. I spoke with Heather, the manager, showed her my clothing and told her my story. Well, all she had to say was "the stylists are independent" and that there was "nothing she could do for me". So, I asked to speak to Virginia. Well, she was with a client and she would have to call me later. Still pretty unsatisfied with this, I left. When Virginia called me back she accused me of using profanity, disrespecting her manager and causing a scene in her place of business. She also told me that Heather had told her that my sweater "looked like it was from Target" so the best she could do for me is leave $20 at the front desk (see photo). I am truly offended by this comment as well as the accusation that I was disrespectful and cursing at the manager. I am a college student, so having to replace a cardigan and a brand new t-shirt after spending $250 on my hair cuts pretty deep into my wallet. I expected a lot more professionalism from people working at a "5 star" salon. Instead, they acted like catty high school girls and made me feel like crap. I've been going to Monica for almost two years now and every time I walk out of the salon feeling confident and beautiful. She's truly great to work with and really listens to what you're wanting. She recently moved locations to Bask Salon, and I must say that I was blown away by the space and overall ambiance. This place is incredibly unprofessional. I went in for a haircut the other day and had a hairstylist named Virginia. This haircut was going so badly that I had to stop her before she was done, and she still expected me to pay in full for it. Doing my best to be reasonable and not simply refuse and walk out, I tried to work it out with the manager on (Heather), who simply, very apathetically insisted that her hands were tied and she couldn't do anything about it since it was an independent hairstylist. After that and some disrespectful comments from the stylist, suffice to say that the bill didn't get paid. DON'T GO TO BASK, AND ESPECIALLY AVOID VIRGINIA!!! I know that sometimes hair doesn't turn out exactly like a picture you bring in but any salons goal should be ensuring the client leaves happy. A friend of mine left in tears after spending 3 hours with Abbey and leaving with hair much more red than the blond highlights she wanted. She called the salon in hopes another stylist could see her to give her what she was hoping for. The manager, Heather, was extremely rude and refused to find a reasonable solution. She said that stylists work for themselves and if they mess up they don't care. She said only Abbey could see her to fix it otherwise she'd have to pay again. With a newborn at home time is precious and my friend wanted to make sure she left with what she wanted. She was upset and wanted help, the manager didn't want to deal with it and hung up on her then called back and asked "so what do you want to do". Long story short after a couple other calls they finally refunded her money. This isn't stress anyone should have to deal with especially a new mom. read more
