MoldGone is a great company. Mike came out to my house for a free estimate very quickly. I got a quote from a different company, and although they were very thorough and detailed, they charged $99 for the estimate and projected that my project would take 5 days to complete. MoldGone finished it in 2 days. They even installed my new garbage disposal for me, which was a nice surprise. After they finished and I wrote them a check, I completely forgot to give them the Yelp deal I bought prior to their work. I emailed them about the situation 2 days later, and they refunded me the difference. They are an honest company with great customer service. I would definitely use them again. read more

After finding mold in a corner of our basement, I sought recommendations from NextDoor on mold remediation companies. Someone highly recommended MoldGone and I am so glad I contacted them! I spoke to Joe, the president of the company, on the phone. Even though he and his team were busy with many other larger jobs, he still personally came out to inspect the damage and provide a free assessment on what needs to be done to correct the problem. He took a quick look and said that since the job was so small we could save a lot of money doing it ourselves. He explained the steps we needed to take to fix the problem and it is definitely doable ourselves. I really appreciated Joe's responsiveness, consideration, honesty and professional knowledge. Even though we did not need to use his services this time, if we do in the future, I know I can trust him and his company. read more

Very pleased with the evaluation and excellent guidance for a small mold problem I had due to a water leak. This was the second opinion I got and they nailed the problem down and explained what the issue was, providing a simple solution rather than an overly complicated and expensive solution from the other company. read more

Great! He hit it with the moisture sensor and then told us what to by to get rid of it and even waived the visit fee. What a great company, very professional, courteous and prompt! Will use again! read more

Checked house. Gave assessment of what we might do ourselves. No charge. Gave me his card and told me if I problems in the future to call him. Will call and recommend 100% read more

After a summer and fall of non-stop rain we identified a few small areas with mold in our home and were concerned that there may be a larger hidden mold issue going on. I had an independent mold inspector come and test the mold, so I knew we weren't dealing with any species that are overly concerning, but all mold can be allergenic and it can spread and degenerate building materials, so I wanted to figure out the source and have it remediated. Mike showed up on time, was friendly, professional, incredibly knowledgeable (he walked me through our mold report) and, in the end, told me that the mold was so limited in scope that it didn't make sense to have them remediate it. He told me exactly how to resolve the moldy areas and didn't charge me for the visit. I spent HOURS researching which certifications one should look for in a mold professional, and then emailing and talking with various companies before selecting Mike and Mold Gone. I can't speak highly enough about Mike's knowledge and professionalism! Save yourself the time and effort! Make Mold Gone your first call. read more

We are new to MD and just put an offer on a place. A small amount of mold was found under the kitchen sink and we wanted to be certain there wasn't a larger issue. Jon was great. He scheduled us within two days of my request. He was completely honest about the issue we faced, even when not doing so could have brought in more money. He was also an extremely personable guy. Highly recommended! read more

We called MoldGone to deal with some mold in our basement. Despite calling on a weekend, Jay responded immediately and then followed-up first thing on Monday. When they came to remediate the problem areas, they were incredibly professional, quick, safe, and did an overall phenomenal job. We hope to never have another mold issue but if we do, we won't go with any company except MoldGone. read more

Loved working with Moldgone. Polite, friendly, fast, knowledgeable and professional. Would highly recommend.

Jon is a good guy. He came to our house, checked moisture and the mold patch. Told us the problem is not significant. Moreover, he didn't charge us his fees and gave us advice about treating the mold. Extremely happy and would recommend without any reservation! read more

Unbelievable customer service!!! This has been a 5 star experience from beginning to end. Jay is wonderful to deal with from the sales side. He is very informative, knowledgeable and he builds your confidence that they can handle the situation. Jay's turn around time for email is very impressive and speaks to his business savvy. The gentlemen that came to do the actual work, Gustav and Umberto, were so professional and just all around lovely people. They were courteous and polite. They worked quickly with minimal noise. Their work was impeccable and they left the place spotless. I had a question a week after the work was complete. Jay immediately contacted me and Joe, from an operations perspective, came out to my house within hours to look at the work and talk with me about my questions. Talk about impressive and about truly valuing their customers!!! Service like this is very rare and absolutely the gold standard. MoldGone is one of the best companies that I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. read more

MoldGone is the best. Wow. Joe showed up and though this job/problem was too small for him, he looked at it and educated me. He could easily charge for this. It's a much needed service. He's very knowledgeable, kind, ethical, and eased my stress by the tons. I now know what caused the mold, what's unique to this area, how to prevent mold growth in the future, and he wrote down the products I need to buy to get rid of it. That's amazing! By the way my air filter, NOT GOOD. It won't help the breathing situation. Joe caught that. I hadn't even noticed that my building maintenance people just jammed a cut piece of flimsy filter in the slot and pretended they did something. I feel like I can take on this monster and get my house clean again. Thank you so much Joe. Thank you MoldGone! read more

Mike came out and inspected our basement that looked like it had a lot of mold. He said it was simply what happens to concrete and the paint they used over long periods of time. No cost! Great job! Honest, informed, would definitely use. read more

I had an excellent experience with MoldGone. Mike and his crew were very friendly. For $3600, they removed the mold and replaced 3 of my kitchen cabinets. I purchased new counter-tops from someone else. But the counter-top installer could not install my counter-top unless the cabinets were leveled. So, Mike immediately sent one of his crew over to level my counter-top. In sum, MoldGone is friendly, responsive, and quick with their service. read more

We have a mold issue in our master bathroom. Jay came out to look at the problem and explained why it was happening and how we could fix the problem. Small-ish black mold issue in the corner of my basement and didn't want to try to remediate myself until a professional checked it (with little kids around, etc.) MoldGone deserves its great reviews - they booked an appt soonest of the few companies I called, checked out the issue, and assured me I'd be better off saving money and time remediating myself. He answered all my questions and recommended ways to keep out the water after checking around the outside. Thanks, MoldGone! read more

MoldGone was terrific and professional! They provided a very detailed estimate, clearly explained what they would do and broke down the cost of each component of the estimate and followed through on everything they said they would do. They left everything totally clean and tidy and while I would hope never to need their services again, I would give them my highest recommendation! read more

We had Joe Mulieri visit us to evaluate a concern we had (mustiness odor emanating from behind window trim), and make recommendations. I was very impressed with his professional manner, honesty, and eagerness to offer the best advice for the customer, although that may mean less or no work for his company. It was 100% evident to me that Joe was interested in helping us remedy the situation in the best way for us, which also made the most economical sense. The natural result was that Joe's visit resulted in us not contracting his team ( and not contracting any other mold-remediation company for that matter), AND having our problem easily fixed by me (reapply caulking in a crack visible around the trim, inside and outside the window, per Joe's recommendations). Odor is gone, at no cost. Great experience with moldgone, I would strongly recommend them. read more

Excellent full stop. Responded quickly to the initial call. Responded quickly to come out and look at the issue. Correctly diagnosed and was flexible on scheduling time for repairs. Team that came out was quick, professional and did the job without issue. A five-star experience. read more

You say the word Mold and your life is upside down. Then you have to find a company you can trust with all the scams you hear about. I found these guys on Angie's list as I think they had like 1,000 positive reviews. Figured I can't go wrong there. Well they exceeded my expectations. They are honest as the day and really go above and beyond. My experience in Maryland has not been the best with other subs and contractors so it was a great finding some trustworthy people to work with on an issue. Jon and Mike are outstanding as are their crews. A. Gould Rockville, read more

We had Jon come to our house when our water heater broke as we were worried about potential water and mold in our basement. He not only did an extremely thorough evaluation and explained everything to us, but he came back a second time when we had additional concerns. He conducted an air quality test and provided us with a very detailed report. Luckily nothing harmful was found. Even though we didn't need anything further after the test he ran, we had a ton of follow up questions for him and he ALWAYS emailed back right away and took the time to answer everything. He really went above and beyond and we truly appreciate it. Hopefully we won't have any mold problems in the future, but if we do, we will absolutely contact this company. We highly recommend them!! read more

I would highly recommend Joe. He was extremely professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. He was able to determine the source of the problem (water leak from our neighboring town home) in just a few minutes. He was very flexible with scheduling, and suggested a simple yet effective method to resolve the mold and water damage on our lower floor. He didn't charge us, and we always felt that he wanted the best outcome for us. If you are looking for a professional, trust-worthy, and competent mold/ water damage resolution agency, you will not go wrong with Joe & Co.! read more

I don't write reviews for companies whose services I don't use but Moldgone deserves an exception! After we began to have blackened ceilings around our air registers, I found MoldGone on Yelp, with stellar reviews. Let me add on to that pile. They did not actually do any work for us, but just diagnosed the problem over the phone and let me know the direction to go in to solve the problem. They could have come out to our house and pocketed the fee to say the same thing - but not this company! They are knowledgeable, honest and helpful. read more

I can honestly say I've never received better customer service anywhere else. Mike came out to visit my house and assured me that there were no issues aside from small things I can help myself. Great experience. An inspector came out for free, and also explained the results of air and surface tests I had done. Very patient and honest. He put my test results in context and said my basement was perfectly safe. Didn't try to scare or hard-sell me. read more

We had a small leak from out kitchen faucet that caused a water stain in our basement ceiling. Due to having little ones we decided to be cautious and have it checked out. MoldGone might deserve an award for being honest and trustworthy. I recently experienced a plumbing leak, and the plumber suggested "there might be mold" from a leak that persisted for one month. I called MoldGone, and one of their managers came to my house to assess the situation. He conducted a thorough inspection and concluded that I don't have a mold issue. He could have easily tried to convince me to buy services I didn't need, but instead told me to save my money and sleep easy. Wow, I didn't think the world still had honest contractors. read more

I'm actually giving them a 5 star review because they *didn't* come out. When I called to schedule a visit, they spent some time on the phone asking for details about our problem. After hearing what we were dealing with, they told me not to waste our money on them but to call an air duct company instead (they recommended Quality Air Solutions who were great!) and see if it fixed our moldy vent problem instead of paying for a general mold inspection we probably don't need. I really appreciated their honesty. They could have easily come out and charged us hundreds of $$ instead of taking time with us on the phone. Instead, they actually ended up dissuading us from having them come out because it wasn't needed. Honest companies like that are hard to find! read more

Mike from MoldGone just left our house. I reached out to him Saturday night with some concerns and he responded promptly and courteously by Sunday morning. By Monday we had an appointment for Tuesday morning (today) and he was on time, pleasant, clear, and took the time to explain what he was doing throughout. His inspection appeared thorough. We haven't gotten the results back yet, but thus far I've been pleased and would definitely recommended their services. After all the work was completed, Mike asked that if I genuinely felt happy with their work and would be willing to take the time to write a Yelp review, they'd be willing to include one of the air samples for free. At that point, I had already determined in my own mind that I was going to leave a 5-star yelp review because I was happy with every aspect of their service and work, and I had relied on the Yelp reviews to find MoldGone in the first place. So I had been planning to pay it forward anyway. I can confirm that this review is genuine -- we all rely on places like Yelp for honest reviews of contractors, and I would definitely not have agreed had I not been very happy with the work. I would fully recommend this company to others. If anything changes after the report comes back, I will update. read more

Hi, I bought a small condo in February. It was completely renovated, except the HVAC company who put in the small fan coil unit didn't insulate the pipes (INCOMPETENT). The pipes were hidden behind a white, wooden box. When the condo turned over to AC, I started seeing mold and water on my floor. I finally took off the white box, and was shocked to see the black mold, and uninsulated pipes. I even had air quality testing done with a swab of the mold. It said I should have it remediated by a professional because the mold was the "stecky" or black mold (about 4 inches x 2 inches). Well, I got 4 bids ranging from do it yourself to $1800 dollars. Mike Mulieri came out, and told me that the mold was too small, and I could have my handyman get rid of it. I trust this man. I called him today just to make sure that it was something I could have taken care of. He assured me I could do this with the mold disinfectant I bought. I will use him to take a $75 air test after the wall is patched up so I can have peace of mind. read more

Mike is phenomenal. I purchased a home and was concerned with the air quality report conducted by a separate testing company. He stayed on the phone with me as I read my attic sample numbers. He is knowledgeable and truly genuine. After I read my numbers...I asked what can his company do? I was ready to bankroll and remediate. He reassured me that based on the report I read our samples collected are of no concerns and indicative of a typical attic. He is eager and has his clients' best interest. He really put me and my family at ease...saving us at least 5 to 10k of mold remediation that's unnecessary. He goes above and beyond to even explaining moisture, possible source that may have promoted mold growth. He really did all this out of the kindness of his heart...I wasn't even charged for this transaction. Thank you for serving DMV area. In a tough business like mold remediation...tarnished by scams, you - Mike are reliable and proudly serve with integrity. read more

Jon is just leaving my driveway. I had to write a review immediately because his company is just that great. Making an appointment was easy. He was on time and even kind enough to wait for a couple of minutes when I didn't hear the door bell. The inspection was quick and professional. He had some tips for us and told us to call if we need work in the future. He did not take advantage of my panic level anxiety about the water in our basement to sell us any work we didn't need. Highly recommend! I hope we don't need remediation in the future, but he will be our first call if we do. read more

Look no further! We hired Mold Gone and Jon Gordon was fantastic. He answered all of our questions and as first time home buyers, made sure we fully understood what we needed to do and/or look for. So incredibly honest! After receiving two quotes for mold removal from two other companies listed on YELP, MoldGone came out and assured me that the problem was small enough that I could treat it myself or have a handyman treat it. The rep also spent time answering all of my questions, even though he knew he was not selling me a project. The other companies tried to convince me that I would need a whole day remediation at a significant cost. Thanks for your honesty and professionalism! FIVE STARS!! read more

Joe was extremely accommodating with my hectic schedule and came to have a look at a mold problem in the attic during the weekend. What I thought would have been a very localized inspection, ended up being a thorough assessment of *everything* related to possible sources of humidity in the attic - this is definitely the only way to get rid of the problem for good. Now, the story does not end with Joe's high professional expertise: 1) He could have told me that I would need to spend a substantial amount of money to get rid of the problem, but fortunately for me Joe is an honest professional. He specified that the mold problem was far from extreme and indicated detailed steps to get rid of it myself! 2) Joe also inspected the basement for a damp wall issue. He indicated where and how to regrade the exterior of the house to avoid additional problems in the future. The whole experience ended up being more like a complete and detailed inspection. I hope I won't have attic mold problems or wet basement issues in the future, but if I do I know whom to call! read more

Terrific experience. Was told that mold issue in property purchase would cost many thousands to remediate, and was prepared for a painful bill. Jon from MoldGone came out to look at the issue, and he was extremely kind and competent. His quote ended up being significantly less than we were expecting, with a very short turnaround. When the team came out, I showed them one additional area we were concerned about that came to our attention at the last minute, and they added it to the project for no charge. The work was done quickly and neatly, and you'd hardly know anyone had been there. Really, really excellent work! read more

MoldGone is an incredibly honest company. I had some leaking problem before, it showed some mold on the kitchen kick board. Other companies asked thousands dollars to do the job (lift the whole kitchen marble counter and cabinets). But when MoldGone came, after carefully inspected the area, told me that the problem is so small that it would not need any work from them, and assured me that the problem was small enough that I could treat it myself. The rep also spent time answering all of my questions, made sure there is no health issue. The other companies tried to convince me that I would need a 3 day day remediation at a significant cost. Jon is a rare breed. He came out and look at my rental property after a toilet leak. Gave me solid advise on what was needed and not needed. I work as a professional contractor myself (unrelated trade). I deal with other contractors all day and I can say that beyond any doubt Jon is outstanding. He did not try to sell me anything I didn't need or use any high pressure tactics. He operates at a high moral level, which unfortunately is very rare.
