We had such a bad experience with exceptionally rude receptionists and "upselling" at larger companies (ServPro) just trying to get an estimate for mold and water damage, so it was refreshing to work with Ansony. We noticed mold and water damage in a corner of our home and Ansony was able to come out to give an estimate shortly after we called. After a few weeks of us dealing with insurance, we noticed some additional damage elsewhere in the home. We reached back out to Damage Squad once we had things squared away with insurance to have them check out the additional damage and they came the next day to reevaluate and update their estimate. The changes were very reasonable--Ansony understood our budget and made it very clear what was necessary to address (i.e., mold) versus what could wait (i.e, more cosmetic things). So we signed the contract that day. Damage Squad came the next morning. Incredible. It's hard to find someone you feel like you can trust for home improvement, but Ansony clearly knows what he's doing and I never felt like he was trying to "upsell" or overcharge us. I felt like he genuinely made decisions and recommendations as if our home was his home, and he and his team treated it as such. The first group that came was led by Abi who went into our crawlspace to assess the scope of work they needed to do. Initially, the water in the space was thought of as being due to the severe rains in the area. The estimate was for water and mold remediation. Tonea Sutton, at the office, handled everything seamlessly: explained the process, gave me an estimate and scheduled the clean-up. On the scheduled day, the team, led by Abi, arrived on time and discovered that there was a sewer leak which, then, had to be addressed by a plumber. The scope of work that L4 had to do had to be expanded because of the need for biohazard clean-up. Tonea was very understanding about my frequents texts regarding my concerns about the cleanup. The estimate increased a little bit. I thought the pricing was more reasonable than other companies that came to give their assessments. I called the 800 number on Nov. 3 and it was clear that it wasn't an office but some manner of call service that plugged me in with another individual. The gentleman was pleasant enough and said that a tech would call me before EOD. I received a TEXT from Abi, not a call, at 6:08 pm. I never had someone text me instructions about a potential home visit before but, as I'm desperate for repairs, I went with it despite my reluctance. I asked in the text to have the tech please share their license and credentials. I don't know these people. I just needed to know who I'm letting into my home. I received a call from a gentleman I assumed to be the owner or operator who took umbrage at me asking for the credentials of the tech, and proceeded to call it "weird" (that is the word he used) that I'd ask since, and I quote, "all we're doing is an estimate." I don't care if you were building the Ark of the Covenant divined by God himself, I am not letting someone in my home without knowing fully who they are. Call it paranoia, call it weird as that person did, but they can take that attitude and go the other way. I'll find someone else.

So I called my insurance company and they gave me a list of trusted providers for water damage restoration, EnviroCare was one of them and closest to the property so we called them up. They came within an hour of calling and immediately started extracting the water from the basement. The techs were very professional and explained how it works, apparently they take care of everything with the insurance company and I don't pay anything out of pocket! That was great to learn that. I was expecting to get hit with a $5000 bill after the insurance is done with me. They cleaned the water, dried the place for a few days with huge fans and dehumidifiers, then started the restoration of the walls, carpets and parts of the ceiling. They were done in exactly 6 days from the moment they arrived and started working. Even the insurance adjuster was impressed.
