Fair Duct Cleaning serviced my home this week - they cleaned out my air vents, dryer vent and bathroom vent. They were courteous, punctual and got the job done. I think they threw in the bathroom vent cleaning for free, which was appreciated. However, I did have a few concerns regarding my service. - After cleaning the dryer vent, they left a mess behind - see attached photos. - They offered me the duct sanitation service, which I politely declined. They then offered it to me not once but twice more, after I had declined. I didn't appreciate the repeated high-pressure sales pitch. - Without telling me, they unplugged some of my Verizon equipment and did not plug it back in when they were done. I needlessly spent an hour on the phone with Verizon trying to figure out why my wireless and cable service did not work. I would hesitate to use them again. Update: Yosef, the owner, did call to apologize for the above mentioned issues and provided a partial refund, which was appreciated. read more

I have never worked with such an unprofessional company in my life. This review is most unfortunate because several years ago we used them and they were fantastic. I specifically sought them out after this experience. Last weekend we had an appointment with them to clean our ducts and they kept pushing back our time saying that they couldn't find their technician, wasting our entire day. We rescheduled for today- waited again, heard nothing despite confirming their appointment. We called the owner, he got back to us and said he couldn't find the tech again, and for us to "not wait"- no apology, no offer to make it right. I will never use them again, and to think that I cancelled with another company because I was trying to be a loyal customer to this place. My advice would be to go elsewhere. This company worked with me to get my condo and my parent's condo taken care of. Even though neither of them had ever apparently had the ducts done ... it was still reasonably priced. the work was completed on time and the estimate that was given was stuck to. Obviously if your ducts have not been cleaned in the history of man it is going to cost more than the advertised specials. When they came into the work they were very clean and laid out plastic everywhere they went and I had no residual dirt that I found anywhere in the house. Very nice and personable just really a great job I'm going to have them come to do annual servicing and biannual servicing. Can't say enough good about these guys read more

Update**** On 08/07, the owner refunded overcharge with quick and friendly attitude. Update*** On 08/06, I received an phone call from the owner to discussed my case. According to our discussion, he stated that he is sorry for the miscommunication and care about the customer. He would like to fix the problem and return the overcharge. I will keep post the update and may revise recommendation accordingly. Initially*** I had a clean service 07/24/2019. When we communicated through phone and message, the company said "the price will be $xxx. But i will give you the discounted price $xxx. All the ducts and all the vents will be cleaned with main and return lines...". However, when the tech came to my house, he said that the service only have vac and we need a "deep clean". This is MISLEADING customer. Due to I have to clean the house ASAP, I finally agree their "deep clean", which is twice price. My experience was mixed. I did air duct deep cleaning/sanitizing and dryer vent cleaning. He arrived on-time. Deep cleaning job was ok; I saw him using a HEPA vacuum, but would appreciate if it was a negative pressure machine. However, he cleaned dryer vent using flexible rotary brush on the outside-wall only. When I requested him to remove dryer from vent and to clean from inside too, only then he did that and found more dirt. He should have done that even if I had not requested - especially when the fees are not cheap! Update: When we have run the dryer a full-cycle after the service, we saw more loose dirt coming out of the external duct-exhaust. While the duct has no block for air to come out, I am not sure whether it is expected to see dirt again after a cleaning service. read more

10/30/18 Update: The owner, Joseph, called me the day I wrote the first review and apologized profusely, he explained his company as a rule does not charge service fees if the work is not completed and thus my check would not be deposited. He scheduled a time to come out and look at my dryer vent himself and he was reliable and called me back to confirm the day of. He was thoughtful with his evaluation and quoted me fairly. I'll give another update once the work is completed but Joseph has been a pleasure to work with. _______________ 10/25/18 Horrible experience -- I called and told the person on the phone that a dryer repair man had tried to clear a duct clog and his tool had snapped off inside, so I explained, it's not just a duct cleaning there is also a tool in there that needs to be removed. They said no problem, they understand, and that their techs can do anything including replacing the ductwork and retrieving the tool (since we suspect the ductwork is too small hence causing clogs). So we set up an appointment for 11-1pm and they called at 11:30 to tell me they wouldn't be there until 1:30, so I ended up having to take the entire day off of work. They arrived, called to complain that they didn't know where to park or which house was mine (every other repair person has figured this out on their own, but it is possible that their long snake tool required power from their van so I won't actually take stars off for that at all), so I went outside and flagged them down and they proceeded to crash into my trash cans and I moved them out of the way and tried to suggest that they roll down their window so I could say maybe street parking would be less tight, but he didn't roll down his window and finally figured out how to park in the driveway. There were two workmen, the only one I spoke with was sort of rude when I tried to give some information about the duct. And then the main guy kind of angrily yelled at his assistant for 7-8 minutes until he told me that sorry, it didn't work and that'll be $100. I asked how I'm supposed to get the tool out and he said you'll have to replace the ducts and I said okay so do you guys do that and he said "no, but I can ask if anyone else at our company does". So the receptionist misled me and that is the only reason I hired them to begin with because they were so confident they'd be able to remove the tool, and even said they could replace the ducts. And then in the moment, they told me no sorry nothing they can do, not sure if anyone at their company does that but he'll ask and oh $100 for these failed 8 minutes. Not happy. read more

I had a great experience with Fair Duct Cleaning. My dryer was taking hours to dry due to a clog in the dryer vent. The vent is located on the top of my roof. Joseph was very friendly and his team cleared up the vent in less than 30 minutes. The Tech arrived on time and was very helpful, but basically he told us that the service that was advertised as an "air duct cleaning" was really just vacuuming out the vents. A real cleaning of the air ducts was about 3 times the advertised price. We thanked the tech and sent him home. The misleading advertising really rubbed me the wrong way. I can't comment on the quality of the work. I hope this vendor will clarify his advertising. The technician, Rony, was very good at providing a diagnosis and updates, even though I could not be at home during the cleaning. Fair Duct is great! He arrived on time. I was not getting any air flow from my first floor ducts. He went to the basement and inspected the duct and quickly discovered that the flow was occluded because the switch was stuck on closed. He repaired the switch and lubricated it. Then he cleaned the duct. Flow through vents is now plentiful and the furnace is no longer running all the time. The cost of cleaning the duct will be offset by the savings on my electricity bill! I was very pleased with Fair Duct Cleaning when they cleaned my whole house as well as my dryer duct on Oct 3rd. The latter was the real reason I had called them. Two weeks later I found that the external cover of the dryer duct (on the roof) had flown off and was in the backyard (I don't know how long it had been there). I immediately called them and was told the owner (Youssef) would call back. Despite several attempts to contact him he did not return my calls. I was afraid the impending storm would allow water through the uncovered opening and in desperation wrote a negative review on Yelp on October 25. Within minutes he called me back and said he had been waiting for a new cover to arrive from Amazon. He dispatched the same man within the hour to fix the problem. The tech said this time he was going to use glue to fix it to the roof. Apparently he had done nothing to secure it the last time. He was done in minutes. Two weeks later, on Nov 7th, the cover flew off again and I almost drove over it. Another rainstorm was threatening. I called Yusuf and he offered to send the same incompetent worker again. A handyman was fixing something for us and we dispatched him to the store to buy a new one. Yusuf said to call him back when the work was done and tell him the cost. We paid $75 for labor plus a better cover which he fixed properly under the roof tiles. Yusuf promised to send me a check for $50/- which still hasn't arrived. Despite calls and messages, he has neither called back or sent me the money. I am glad that I can share my experience on Yelp to warn other potential customers that although they do good work most of the time, they cannot be relied upon to fix a problem when it occurs. read more

After buying a house in December 2015 I started having horrible allergies every time I went into the house. I have an awful dust mite allergy. Yossef got in touch with me immediately and was actually able to come by for a consult within the next few hours since he was close by. He was so friendly and helpful. He explained all the options clearly without trying to up sell me. Since I was already stress out about the cost, having just bought a home, this made things so much more comfortable for me. Ronnie called me 2 hours before the appointment to let me know he was running early and would be there at 10:30am. He arrived and went right to work! He explained everything to me and showed me everything - both before and after. We have never cleaned our ducts, so they were SUPER dirty. He warned us that because of how dirty it was there was a high probability we will need to clean the coils too which would be an extra cost. He made super we knew it was an extra cost before doing anything. We had some mold on our coils and knew we needed to do that as well. We asked him to call his boss to see if we got any other discounts, but the price we got for the coil cleaning and full system was AMAZING!
