We asked XMAN, Inc to come out to look at a few spots in our attic. We were looking for a spot…read moretreatment, as the source of the issues has been fixed, and the issue is not bad overall. They promptly came out for the inspection, which we paid for, in hopes to credit that towards the treatment. XMAN advised that they would not treat only the required areas, but would only accept the job if they were able to service the entire attic, rather than the problem areas. Due to the configuration of our attic, we were advised that the work could not be warrantied whether they do the full attic or not. We understood that the work could not be warrantied, but wanted to move forward with treating the problem area only. We had asked XMAN to come out for their service call minimum that they set, and they refused, only willing to do the complete attic for double the price, and now we have wasted the $99 on the inspection as we are forced to find another company who will treat our attic. They seem to know what they are doing, but be warned, they will provide one option for treatment and will keep the $99 inspection cost unless you agree to exactly what they want to do to your home. If you are not planning on treating a whole room, I would not suggest contacting them.

If I could put a zero stars I definitely would!!! I recently…read morehad a highly unsatisfactory experience with Baxter Environmental located in Chambersburg, PA, and I feel compelled to share my disappointing encounter. I engaged their services with Dauphin County Economic and development with the expectation that they would effectively address lead issues in my property. They were very easy to work with to start and everything we discussed went from great to nonexisten. However, their performance was abysmal, and I am left utterly dissatisfied, disrespected, violated, and appalled. First and foremost, Baxter Environmental's handling of the lead abatement/ encapsulation was unacceptable. They demonstrated a complete lack of expertise and professionalism in their approach. Their staff members seemed poorly trained and ill-equipped to handle the complexities associated with lead abatement. It was evident that they lacked the necessary knowledge and experience to address such a critical issue. This list was a range of issues from having the heat on during an abatement, not covering vents and carpets with plastic. Before starting they were to notify the state and did not do that resulting in a $1000.00 fine. Moreover, their response time was incredibly slow and unresponsive at times. Despite numerous attempts to contact Baxter Environmental regarding my concerns, their customer service was consistently abysmal. It felt as though my inquiries were being purposefully ignored, leaving me in a state of frustration and uncertainty. Furthermore, the work performed by Baxter Environmental was subpar at best. Their attempt to remediate the lead concerns proved to be ineffective and insufficient. I expected a thorough and comprehensive approach, but what I received was far from it. The lack of attention to detail was evident, and it appeared that corners were cut at every turn. It is disheartening to think that a company entrusted with such crucial responsibilities could show such blatant disregard for their customers' safety. Adding insult to injury, the pricing structure of Baxter Environmental was exorbitant and unjustifiable given the poor quality of their services. I expected a fair and reasonable cost (covered by HUD funds) for the work performed, but what was received was an inflated bill for substandard workmanship. It felt like all parties involved were being taken advantage of, and I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am with the entire experience. In conclusion, my experience with Baxter Environmental in Chambersburg, PA, was an absolute nightmare. Their handling of lead abatement/ encapsulation was inadequate, their response time was abysmal, and the quality of their workmanship was far below acceptable standards. I strongly advise against using their services for any lead-related issues or any other environmental concerns. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by seeking a reputable and competent company to address your needs. Baxter Environmental should be avoided at all costs.

While we didn't deal with them directly, they did our Radon testing and mitigation system…read moreinstallment in the house we bought. Our realtor did all the communication with them. The Radon test got scheduled fast. The report was emailed to us. It's a 3-day test, and it should be done in any basement. They installed the radon mitigation system in our basement. It appears to have been done well, although they could have done a slightly better job with patching the holes in the concrete as well as bracing the pipes. However, it's an unfinished basement, so I think aesthetics weren't at the top of their list on this installment. They also didn't clean up completely, there was a lot of concrete dust on the pipes. Again, unfinished basement, so I can understand. They did seem to clean up the floor well, so I really can't complain. I cannot comment on their customer service. Based on results, I'd recommend them. 3.5 stars, I rounded up to 4 since they were fast in getting things done.

Nice guys. Honest and did good work. I'm giving 4 stars only because the price of the big company…read moreis $$$$ because I'm sure there is a lot of overhead. However - first we had a guy come out to assess a drain, he informed me that the issue was my sump pump and we only had to pay $50 for the camera view of the drain. Then after my home warranty company refuses to cover a new Sump pump because their plumber service told me there was nothing wrong with my sump pump, they came back and replaced the whole system. It looks really pretty (a phrase I never thought I'd say about a sump pump) but we now have a nicer system, no cords in the pit, one pump with a reliable battery back up. Worth the inflated cost of a big company for the peace of mind. Also despite my husband and I not wearing masks in our homes and not being near the plumbers that they sent out, these guys wore masks the entire time they worked and shoe covers. Good guys!

Update 021826. I've traded voicemail messages with Roto Rooter representatives about my experience…read moreand would like to add the following: Pat responded to my review and elevated the matter to higher management. Given previous Yelp review comments, this was a pleasant surprise. RR Management responded to my VM message. Also, my review was apparently shared to a wider, yet selected, audience within the company to seek clarification. Demonstrating concern and seeking to learn from my experience was also surprising and, IMO, a very positive attribute of the company culture. Consequently, if I were to rate the organization based on management commitment to customer satisfaction only, I'd assign at least 4 stars. Readers: I've now written to Pat at Roto Rooter as requested to provide more details as requested. My plan is to update this review if needed. Thanks! Original review follows...... Clearing a slow toilet drain to a septic tank was successful. Cost $1,138.24. invoice 13-24864537 on 1/31/26. RR location on invoice-Baltimore, MD. Though NOT an emergency, we were grateful that RR was able to respond in 24 hours by providing a technician with truck and all equipment needed to do the job. Communication with the office on technician arrival status was very good. FYI - I first used a plunger and my own 23 ft power snake without any success. The technician claimed to have augured our system 100 feet and pulled some flushable wipes out of the line. This was puzzling as such wipes had not been used for over 3 years. These were not, apparently, the problem with our drain. Consequently, power auguring continued for over 5 hours with nothing else to show! We were told the drain to septic tank might have settled and/or become otherwise obstructed. Thus, it was recommended a separate camera inspection be done and for us to be prepared to pay for the basement floor to be jackhammered for access the problem and allow RR to lay another line. Estimated cost between $5k and $10k. We were surprised by the level of effort, duration, and cost to clear a toilet drain. Soon after this work by RR, the septic tank was pumped. This was routine service. No drainage blocks were detected. Our plan is to continue to be careful about what is disposed in the toilet and monitor for any slowness. And.........we'll start saving for the cost of a possible home excavation project. So service was prompt and clean. The price was unexpectedly high, and we remain concerned about future problems.
