I called to set up an appointment and they came out pretty fast. Then I waited for the estimate. After a few days, I thought "here we go again, I just can't catch a break". I found Baltimore Carpet Repair and Cleaning through a Yelp quote request. They were easy to communicate with through email, text, and phone and diligent with following up ahead of time and after the installation Jon showed up on time and ready to work during his promised window. He was quick and efficient and got the job done as prescribed. The carpet looks pretty good! (I'm not a carpet expert so I cant really tell the difference between pretty good and excellent). I rated as 4* instead of 5 for three reasons: 1) The work came in at the very top-end of the estimated cost, which is fine, but just wanted to throw that out there for anyone reading this review to prepare for that 2) I thought the work area was just a little bit messy with some small pieces of carpet pad and some 'fuzzies' around that I had to clean up after Jon left - he could have taken 5 minutes to tidy up a bit more 3) Jon accidentally left a roll of carpet outside my house that was unsightly - to his credit he picked it up as soon as I texted him to let him know he left it. Overall, good experience and I will consider them in the future when I need flooring or carpentry help. The job was done well with just a few minor inconveniences. read more

We have used Baltimore Carpet Repair for several jobs and they have always been responsive, personable, well-priced and they provide quality work. We've had them repair a carpet, install carpet on stairs, replace a very large picture window and remove french doors and install a new sliding glass door. They are much more than a carpet company. He was very patient answering ALL my questions (I asked a lot) and when I finally decided to have him come out and clean the carpet (on Monday) he came out on Thursday morning! Jon is fantastic!!! He was out to the house in 48 hours to repair pet damage. He had prices that were half of other contractors. He was also able to provide me with a great price on painting (close to half of our local painter). We had a cat who destroyed our carpet and he managed to fix it to look like new! I couldn't be happier with the work and the prices. I love the fact that 5% of my money goes to Baltimore Animal Rescue. I called and scheduled an appointment with Jon. Conversation was pleasant, appointment scheduling was easy, standard window appointment for following Tuesday from 8am -11am, then I was promised a emailed follow up invoice because I wanted to take care of payment prior to because property was tenant occupied. Invoice never received. I called to make payment and confirm the appointment at 8:30am. I was advised that driver was in route and I will receive a follow up invoice after the appointment. Called my Tenant confirmed company arrived 11:30 and had given the driver the wrong address then left before completing the work. I called Jon and he explained to me that the job would require more employees because they were unable to only do the requested area because two months later the connecting rooms would cause it to come back. I reiterated my position that this needed to be repaired asap and told him that he should have called me after he completed what I scheduled and then we could have easily scheduled repair of the surrounding room. I explained that I urgently needed what I scheduled and he said he would schedule something the following day. I followed up with a written message and he never called me back. I'm really disappointed. read more

I contacted the company via their website about removing some ripples from the carpet in the house I was moving into. It was convenient and we scheduled everything online via e-mail. Overall it was a fairly good experience and the job was very well done but there were a couple caveats with scheduling. Jon missed our initial appointment timing due to a flooded area he was dealing with. I ended up having to call to get it rescheduled as I had not heard anything. Once in contact we were able to move the appointment back an hour or two on the same day and I was able to get an accurate estimate and a date scheduled for the job to be done. The next day I received a call asking to change the date to the day after. I was able to accomodate but it pushed back a couple of other new house activities. Once the job was complete, they locked up and I received a call. In that call he detailed a couple of unique to my house issues that are somewhat expected in older homes and then mentioned that his vacuum had broken but they had picked up the large peices of extra carpet. I went to see the work and saw tiny bits of carpet all over the carpet but the rug was smooth and firmly held. It has been a couple weeks and I've shuffled furniture all over and had no problems at all. Overall I would recommend the service but hope that scheduling could improve slightly and perhaps a spare vacuum for backup purposes should the main one break. read more

Our dining room floor is carpeted, and our kids have dropped enough food on the carpet that we end up having to clean it once a year or once every other year. This year, we called up Baltimore Carpet Repair and Cleaning. It was a NIGHTMARE. The head of the company lost our phone number and address, so they didn't show up at 10 am as planned. Once we worked that out, he told me that I'd be receiving a call back in ten minutes, and half an hour later still hadn't called. When they finally showed up (at a new time we had set), the cleaning was horrible -- there were still dried clumps of food on the floor and crumbs all over the place. Sure, the "stains" were gone, but the carpet was by no means "clean." I called him and he tried to sell me on a line that a "general cleaning" will not get clumps of food out of the carpet, or crumbs up. Ha! When I told him that we'd gotten this same carpet cleaned by other companies several times before, he was shocked that they had managed to get up crumbs. (The other companies were not "green," though, so that might have been the difference. He said that steam cleaning and other techniques would have the same issue, but apparently not.") Save your money and vaccum the floor yourself. You'll get similar results. read more
