Their attention-to-detail was excellent. 2. Clear, friendly communication. All questions were resolved quickly and kindly. 3. Professionalism. You will be glad you chose Five Star for your project!

Maurice was laser focused on helping my husband and I navigate decisions and keep our project moving on time and within our budget. I would definitely hire them again.

We were given a price and the contract was signed that same day! The agent came the next week to measure her floor for the exact measurements and once Chris had the info he called back & the price did change by about $1k but still an excellent price! She put a deposit down when we first went there then paid the rest of invoice when they scheduled the installation. We don't know time frames for ordering products but it took over a month before she got another call to schedule the install. The installers came yesterday & were very professional & did a good job. They even matched up the molding coming into the kitchen & around cabinets and walls and it was perfect. It did take all day but overall great work and again the floor looks amazing.

I agree with the other 3 star review person. None of the workers doing the construction work for Dfine. In fact one of them told us no habla ingles, indicating he only spoke Spanish. Highly suggest you find any other firm to do the actual construction. I've never had an issue with Brothers Services or Tim Kyle Electric. If you want the job done right you need a firm that has employees who are vested in the project results and speak English. Dfine's use of contractors that don't work for Dfine is a mistake from the outset. We had delays and eventually had to negotiate a final payment since not all work contracted for was completed or some services were overpriced after checking with other firms. And some work for which I requested a quote so I could check with another firm was simply done without providing a quote for which I had to pay extra for. And Ahmet, while an owner, was never a project manager. In fact there was no project manager watching over daily work. Allied Remodeling at least offers that, where one of the owners reviews the daily work and any communications. I did eventually outsource some of the work to trusted firms like Tim Kyle and Anderson Windows. Did I pay more? Yes. Did I get the work that I expected? Yes. If Dfine somehow convinces you to go with their work crew, insist that David is the primary person who deals with the work. Still not a project manager, but a cut above the rest of what they have to offer. Anyone else is a joke. The design work done by Dfine was thoughtful. The construction could have been much better. And a word about what you think you want. Marble on any part of the remodel looks great. It is however cold as hell to the touch. In the kitchen during winter the counter tops are always cold. And try backing into a cold wall in the shower. It can be shocking. You may want to consider alternatives. There are plenty of firms that can get work done in a day without using marble. My upgrade from the 1960s was better than it was. Not perfect.

Danzco was recommended by a good friend, who I know would only except perfection. Dan, the owner,…read morecame to do an estimate. He seemed like a straight up guy. I was quoted a fair price that was consistent with my other 2 estimates. The estimate included hardwood floors in my family room, on my steps, and in the upstairs hallway. Also, they would put on baseboard and shoe molding, sand and seal the floors, and then apply 2 coats of oil based polyurethane. I was away on vacation when the men came to do the work. When I came home (late Saturday evening) I was appalled at the sloppy job that was done. I immediately called Dan and left him a text message. He came out Monday morning. He seemed pretty upset about the work that was done. He said he would come back and fix everything. The following problems needed to be fix: 1. the baseboard molding: none of the corners touched, some of the baseboard was cut to short and there was a broken piece. 2. The polyurethane coating: it was clumpy in some areas 3. The transition pieces: a number of them were cracked and they never put a transition piece between the hallway and my bathroom 4. Chips and gaps: a number of the floor boards were chipped and there were major gaps between some of the boards 5. The steps: These were a disaster. There were gaps between the steps and risers, many of the wood pieces were cut to short. They used a non matching orange wood putty to fill in mistakes and also used white caulk (which was not approved for use on wood floors). Dan and his son came out for 2 days to try and fix it. They fixed most of the molding, however one piece they cut was cracked in half and we had to glue it back together and the molding inside the upstairs closet still does not look right. They replaced 2 transition pieces and installed a transition piece between the bathroom and hallway. They fixed some of the gaps on the floors, but used a darker wood putty that did not match the color of my floor. The steps still had gaps and looked awful. My husband and I had to spend two days fixing the steps, putting putty in the gaps, staining the putty to match the floors, then applying two coats of oil based polyurethane on the steps and entire upstairs hallway. After our hard work they look ok, but are not perfect. The entire process was extremely stressful and very time consuming for my husband and myself. It cost us time, money, and a great deal of personal stress. All of this could have been avoided if we went with another company I would never recommend Danzco and suggest that you choose another company.

I still don't know if they are to come back. Overall, the finished product was OK but I've seen better. This is a fine example of how small businesses fail. From beginning to end, the customer should experience complete satisfaction in the work they paid for. This includes the professionalism of the workers, which is part of the finished product. I found that part lacking.

I gave a lot of grace in the beginning due to time constraints that were outside of the company, but soon started to see that the GC was the problem. I was told the project was going to take 3-months - it took about 8 months to complete and I'm still waiting on some items. A lot of work had to be redone due to it being installed improperly or sloppy work. I expressed how I wanted things to go and the contractor did their own thing. I issued the last check with the impression that they would come back to fix my shower because on the best day the water is hot for maximum of 2 minutes and cold after that . I haven't heard from the contractor in months. I've called, emailed, spoken to the assistant that said they would call back but haven't. I would not recommend this company at all.
