I went to Mole' with two high school friends for lunch. We've been friends for over 50 years and were celebrating a birthday. I'm a farmer and we raise angus beef. The menu said they feature certified local angus beef, so that made me happy that they were hopefully supporting a local farmer. The day was hot and one of the women in our group was late and a kind staff member saved us a table outside. The ambiance was reminiscent of the restaurants before it with a Hispanic vibe. The grapevines along the balcony were a nice touch that offered both shade and privacy. Our servers were both too fast and too slow. We got our water quickly, but the waiter wanted to take our order before we had time to even look at the menu. Our drinks took a while to arrive and the entire time we were there nobody asked us if we would like a refill, or another drink and it was hot. Given the markup on alcoholic beverages and tap beverages, and how hot it was outside, you would have thought they would be pushing them. I ordered a Sellado De Chimichurri. It arrived in a large bowl and for $22, had a small amount of mixed greens on the bottom of the bowl, some roasted corn, queso fresco, tortilla strips, black beans and a few strips of what looked to be carne asada, not ribeye steak. The meat was seasoned but tough. Raising angus beef, our meat is very tender, and this was not. My salad was dripping in chimichurri and guajillo aioli sauce which made it all kind of bitter, and I did not see a wedge of romaine lettuce. It was far too little lettuce and ensalada in comparison to sauce and the meat was a disappointment. One friend ordered the fish tacos and those looked delicious, and she reported they were. Another friend ordered the carne asada and was as disappointed as I was. We were at the table a while, visiting, since we were celebrating a birthday. There were plenty of available tables throughout the restaurant while we were there, so it didn't appear we were taking up a table others could have been using, yet we were not revisited to ensure all was okay or to see if we needed anything else or to offer us any more to drink. All in all, I would rate our service poor, with the exception of the girl who saved us a table, the girl who brought us water and brought us our checks. The young men taking orders and serving food and other beverages could use some training. It definitely is not a place I will be craving to return to. read more
